Haynnie: It is obvious that girls love to be validated for their physical looks. There's this "fine girl" privilege that they believe in. If they are beautiful they deserve the finest things in life including financial gifts. They feel they can get anything they want.
Now take a look at this chat between a girl and this guy. Was his reply apt or did he went extra to write too much or was he fustrated out from his last relationship?
Although I didn't support the part he mentioned " She listens to cardi b." (Feels like he being a sexist).
What do y'all think about his reply?
The guy have it all, there's no need to be with her.
Billionaire2: Andy Uba, the first guy who stole Obi’s mandate
Andy Uba won the 2007 election, go and read the judgment that sacked Uba. Obi return was as a result of incomplete tenure duration in 2007 which the court ruled in his favour 2006 to 2010.

edvessuite: Education in Africa has come a long way, but there is still a long way to go. With a rapidly growing population, increasing demand for education, and limited resources, stakeholders in education face a range of challenges.
Some of the challenges facing Education in Africa include :
1. Quality of Education As much as we have children who don’t have access to education, even those who do have access to education, a handful of them get poor-quality education. Many schools lack qualified teachers, adequate resources, funding, and up-to-date curricula.
2. Relevance of Education
The education system in Africa often does not align with the needs of the workforce. As a result, many graduates are unable to find employment or are forced to take jobs that are not aligned with their qualifications.
What then is the Future of Education in Africa?
With the invention of Edtech and its companies such as Edves who has a vision to reimagine education and make learning easy by bringing about school and learning management systems designed to streamline administrative and learning processes to improve learning outcomes, schools in Africa can look up to the following:
1. Embracing Technology Technology has the potential to revolutionise education in Africa. With the growing availability of mobile phones and internet access, online learning platforms and digital resources can provide access to education for anyone with an internet connection.
Additionally, these digital resources can help to personalise learning and provide feedback to students, while technology tools can help foster proper communication from school owner to teacher to parent by monitoring student performance, school maintenance, and improving the overall quality of education.
2. Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Entrepreneurship and innovation can also play a key role in the future of education in Africa. By encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation in education, stakeholders can develop new solutions and approaches to address the challenges facing education in Africa. This can lead to the development of new technologies, curricula, and teaching methods that are more relevant and effective.
3. Focus on Soft Skills
In addition to traditional academic skills, there is a growing need for soft skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving.
By focusing on the development of these skills, education in Africa can better prepare students for the workforce and improve their overall prospects.
Using a learning management system would save much time by taking the workload of stakeholders in a school setting, giving them time to focus on this set of skills.
4. Quality of Education
By leveraging technology and innovative teaching methods, stakeholders can improve the quality of education in Africa. Additionally, professional development opportunities for teachers can help to ensure that they are qualified and up-to-date with the latest teaching methods with simulations and more.

BigBlackPreek: na my mama be Kalabari from Abonnema. my papa na Yoruba. I dey serve currently for PH. I like Kalabari people and this entire South/ South & South/East region wella...them like strangers no be small.helping you in any way they can to make your stay interesting....
olatuns2017: In 1979, the SW voted against Shagari in the Federal Elections . He won and their leader, Awo, went into opposition with dignity and did NOT BEG for so called FAIRNESS and EQUITY.
What did the Igbos do?
They did a deal with Shagari and were rewarded with the Speaker of the House of Reps from NPP - Azikiwe's party.
So we Had President Shehu Shagari, Sokoto State,
Vice President, Alex Ekwueme from Anambra State.
Senate President, Joseph Wayas- Cross River State.
Speaker, House of Representatives Edwin Ume-Ezeoke from Anambra State.
The Yoruba were proud and dignified in opposition. Not for one day, begginng for seats or sympathy.
They are not desperate to be in the centre sharing yam.
They accepted the CONSEQUENCES of their voting choices, with dignity.
They did not scream about equity and fairness.
One state , One people Had the VP and Speaker and no Yoruba called them "GREEDY" or BETRAYERS.It has happened before. It is not new!!
The difference is some people have pride and dignity.
Obavoh: My wife’s elder sister’s kids came to spend the holiday at my house.
The 2 boys are 9 and 7 years old. All they do all day is eat, play and watch tv.
I hate idleness so I suggested to my wife that we should send them to hawk fruits. We have a lot of fruit trees in my compound which are wasting away on the trees.
My wife refused and said they are too small. I told her I began hawking for my mum when I clocked 6 years and I expect my children to do the same. This caused a big quarrel between us.
My village is safe, the boys even go as far as the next village to play ball so I don’t know what is bad if they use their playing time to trade.
Hawking made me the smart, hardworking and responsible man I am today. All my life I have never begged or borrowed. I believe as long as one is not disabled or sick, you can easily make money. I want to teach my children this but my wife thinks differently.
greatopec: Good day Nairalanders I will be 40 on Oct 19 this year and I am scared the kind of life I have always desired may not be achievable. Let me list these things that worries me so that you can probably advise me or assist me in achieving any of them. 1) By 40 I had wished I will be living in my house with cars in my garage Current situation- I am a salary earner who eagerly waits for the salary to drop before my family can eat conveniently every month. 2)I love cars and driving. Was thinking of getting a good car for Uber business. Current situation- I have not been able to gather enough money to buy a car for Uber or personal use. 3)Seeking greener pasture abroad. Current situation- I have not been able to have enough disposable income to even get a passport to start with in the first place. 4)Self development. I had interest in programming so I decided to learn coding and all that. I started with free code camp and also this thread by iyenimofe on nairaland has been so helpful https://www.nairaland.com/1383359/learn-web-design-live-nairaland/6#17571611 The issue I have progressing is that of enough data subscription to watch more tutorials. 5)Acquisition of at least Masters. I have a passion for learning and self development but I struggled to have my HND with distinction. Gathering enough funds to start my masters program has been an uphill task.
Little about my background I am an HND graduate I have a sister who am responsible for also. I have a wife and two kids. I work 8-5weekdays
Develop yourself in tech, then utilize the skill to earn money. Thereafter, go for your masters degree program Don't for go for masters if you don't have enough funds for it till when you're financially bouyant. Good luck
fuckfuckman: 6 years in Ivory Coast and I don’t think I’m coming back anytime soon, The last time I came back to Nigeria I was Harassed at the Nigerian border Ny NDLEA for no reason Extorted in Lagos Island by police for absolutely no offense Intimidated by the street cultist Lost a lot of items all these happened in the space of 1 month
To me going to Nigeria now is like going to war
Really? what is the cost of accommodation over there? Apart from Abidjan, which other city is good for a Nigerian to settle?
1. Cooking gas: Cooking gas is very cheap in ivory Coast. It costs an average of #330/kg of gas. So refilling a 12.5 kg cylinder should cost you #4125 at most.
2. Kerosene: kerosene costs relatively about #650/ litre in the fuel station, where the black market sells for #800/ litre.
Note : This country's oil production is very poor o. They're not even anywhere close to Naija's production.
3. Organisation: Ivory coast is very well organized that you can barely run into unorganized environment. Many areas are safely guarded by their local police officers stationed almost everywhere. You can as well make friends with the officers easily without any form of threat from them. They're very welcoming.
4. Very low violent place: People can move around as late as 10pm till dawn without the fear of harassment or violence. In fact, children play in the tarred road as late as 10pm. They have already come to terms about how safe they are in the country. People can stay up late wherever they went to without rushing back home due to nightfall. Night movements was my best !
5. Good Road network: I spent close to 7 months in ivory Coast and could barely see a road untarred. Almost every road I used was smoothly done and stretched to various cities and States. The only place my leg touched Sandy soil was in my compound because the landlord was still constructing more buildings in the site. So our compound was sandy at the moment. Tarred road stretched into all compounds in ivory Coast. It's not the responsibility of the government to do your compound, it's yours. I was marvelled by such development though I spent most of my time in the rural area.
6. Security: Police is your friend is the Moto in ivory Coast. Really nice people. I guess I've said it somewhere before now.
6a. Theft is ALMOST uncertainty. The prepaid meter of every individual house is stationed outside the main building without burglary or iron shield. Anybody can touch it. It wasn't even stationed very high from the ground level. It went only as far as 3-4 feets high. A child of 10 can touch it too.
Our apartment is in a 2 storey building comprising of almost 33 units of one bedroom apartments. The building was built like a shopping complex. All of the prepaid meters used in this apartments are stationed outside where everyone can see and feel it. But no one steals it, likewise every other houses there.
6b. Once there was a particular theft in my ivorian friend's shop that I know of. There were 5 boys who was involved in burgling his computer and phone shop one night. But before 5am, the boys were all caught with the complete stolen items retrieved. Funny enough, my friend didn't know. He was woken up by the police to come to his shop and see the guys. And he didn't have to SETTLE THE POLICE FOR DOING THEIR JOBS .
7. There is constant electricity in that country. CONSTANT. I only observed a few nightouts and those periods were understandable. They all know when the lights would go off in the week or month and have come to terms with it. Light doesn't go off intermittently as obtained in Nigeria. And throughout my stay there, I didn't pay for light bill or water. My caretaker didn't mention it to me too. I was surprised. Steady light
8. Economy: Their economy is very good. It's almost equaling to the Naira at the time I left. So, if you hear 500 CFA there, it's almost equivalent to 500 Naira. So don't do too much calculation.
8a. Minimum wage is very much respected and applied. A POS attendant over their is living a good standard life. A bar attendant earns about 20,000 CFA weekly... WEEKLY o. I mean a local bar attendant. How much more a corporate hotel or bar attendant or waiter.
8b. The money you earn can fetch you a standard living. Their money is easily made and spent too.
9. FOOD: Our area of specialty.
Food is over cheap compared to what's obtained in Naija. You can see someone who earns little but could afford chicken or any frozen food. Food is not part of their problems for now. Banana can go as low as 50 CFA or 50 Naira and it is not the small quantity we're talking about.
A bunch of Bananas that you can get from a roadside vendor in Naija for 800 could be gotten for 150 CFA. So you see it. Once I bought 2 Bunches of banana for 50 each, I couldn't finish them for 3 days.
9a. So sorry, vegetables can be scarcely found there my dear. I made most of my soup without vegetables. That part I didn't enjoy
That's for now. Anybody can add.
From your review, this place is nice. what about cost of accommodation and job opportunities?
pocohantas: Nigerian inlaws and wickedness. I always tell my SIL that she is very lucky. Nobody get her time. This is how they won't allow their brother's wife rest, but if you leave the sick brother for them, they won't tend to him!!
You never checked on your brother when he was alive. You never took him to the hospital. Now he is dead, you have convinced yourself that you are hurt than the widow.
Y'all DISGUST me.
Arrest indeed. See small boy wey never chop finish. You get luck say no be my sister. I for pay men to mend you for even thinking of this.
Vawulence! It seems you went on Baecation with your "Burnaboy"?
Samantha124: I'm sure that most of you guys posting here have once cried because of an ex, but you won't mention it because you're only online alpha males..
"Samantha124 made me cry when she said she was going I cry when she left me I wish, I could hold her close once again in my arms...."
Sirchiboy: Breakdown of monthly expenses for 100k earners. Food=30k. Rent=20k TP/Allocation=10k Savings=10k. Miscellaneous/others=10k. Monthly contributions=10k. Kids school fees savings=10k. Total 100k. People don suffer for this evil country . How many workers in Nigeria even get a 100k salary? Chai may God locate me with a beautiful rich lady to marry this year. Please help me type amen.
Really? Try visit GRA, Orazi, Rumuibekwe, Cocaine Estate, Golf Estate, etc you may see a lady that fits your preference.
ajuksobi: EDUCATION: A MEANS TO AN END IN NIGERIA?
By: Ajukura, Fidelis O. ajukurafidelisobi@gmail.com 24th April, 2023.
The importance of education in our lives and society in general cannot be overemphasized. Education offers a lot of benefit, this is why people sacrifice so much time, energy and resources to acquire it.
For the purpose of clarity, education refers to the act of studying in order to gain knowledge and understanding. Obviously, education is not limited to the knowledge gained through books. However, the knowledge gained through books in an orderly learning environment which include; classrooms, specially trained teachers, teaching equipment, examinations etc remains the best type of education.
Without doubt, education offers variety of benefits such as; financial security and stability, self-dependency, confidence etc but when these benefits are stripped from education, how many people can beat their chest and say 'I want to pursue education?' I'm not sure anybody will be interested in spending his/her resources going through education without expecting anything in return. The situation is worse in our clime where hunger and poverty hold sway. In developed societies where many of Africa's troubles have been conquered, it is possible for an individual to devote his/her entire life and resources in studying the behavior of ants. In Nigeria, this will amount to foolishness. This explains why many people go into certain disciplines or fields - to make money at the end of the day and not because they are driven by the passion to study such courses. In this regard, morality should be our guide. The absence of a finely honed sense of rectitude has reduced the fabric of our society - everybody wants to cut corners. What the society is concerned about is success but not interested to know the source through which the success is achieved. This type of value system has decimated our society. In the area of education, getting certificates is the most important issue, nobody cares whether the certificate is bought or not. This attitude has resulted in having educated illiterates and half-baked graduates. Against this background, we see supposed educated people; people who are supposed to be the conscience of society engaging in all manner of callous and insensitive activities. A typical example is the role played by Hudu Yunusa, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Adamawa state in the recent gubernatorial election. As one with an excellent academic record, he got himself embroiled in a disgraceful and embarrassing situation. Actually, this is not the first time a member of the academia is getting involved in such high degree of electoral malfeasance. As a matter of fact, the highly respected professors collude with politicians to steal the people's mandate. It is on record that University administrators, many of whom are professors are involved in high level fraud. This can only occur in a dysfunctional educational system where premium is placed on material riches rather than knowledge and integrity. No wonder, lecturers in higher institutions indulge in all sorts of questionable and dishonest activities. Many of them romance with politicians and even compete with them in terms of material riches. There are lecturers who hardly go to the classroom yet, they're in the payroll of the institution.
Many people who pass through our educational system end up as embarrassment to themselves and the institution they passed out from. Recently, I interacted with a man who just bagged a Ph.D. In the course of my interaction with him, I was shocked to learn that the fellow was completely ignorant of certain key concepts in his area of specialization. While this may not apply to everybody, it is disturbing that a Ph.D holder is not familiar with some basic or elementary concepts in his field of study yet, he never fails to brag about his exalted academic qualification whenever the opportunity presents itself.
To majority of Nigerians, education is nothing but a means to financial security and stability.
To put our educational system on the path of greatness where it will be rated based on passion and commitment and; also as an end in itself, there has to be a serious re-orientation. Likewise, education should be made more attractive by the government. It is a known fact that our institutions of learning are plagued by incessant strikes, poor remuneration for teachers, inadequate funding, delapidated facilities and unqualified teachers. In 2022, the Higher Education World University revealed that 'only 6 Nigerian Universities were recognized out of the 1000 Universities in the world'. This failure can only be attributed to depreciating values placed on education e.g., viewing education as a means to an end (wealth). Another way of strengthening the educational system in the country is to ensure that stringent measures are employed in carrying out assessment: a credible system that is based on merit and competence should be designed to ensure that only qualified and competent persons are admitted into the sector either as teachers or students. One may wonder if such dream is achievable in a society where corruption and bigotry hold sway? Despite the difficulty, we must continue to maintain a positive disposition and continue to aim at perfection.
jade001: I'll try to make this as simple as possible!
I am a single father, presently seeing a single mother. As I believe it should be, we both shared events that led to our individual Marital breakdown, and relationships after. I only dated 2 within my one year of divorce(had intimacy with one and ended the second during talking stage). She told me hers were two within TWO and HALF yrs of divorce( One ended because of genotype and the other wouldn't marry a single mum).
Fast forward after doing my background check very well. I discovered she had actually slept with SEVEN( Two married, 1 single father, 2 single guys and 2 FWB) within 21/2yrs of divorce(alot for me to handle though)
This she opened up after series of lies and manipulations and WAR, and when she took me to a Pastor and the pastor said we are good to go, but some of her friends would come and tell me rumors about her that I shouldn't be bothered. So, I had to press her till she opened up some... then, later, others!
My issue now is she is always receiving calls and msgs from men home and abroad(behind me, cos she wouldn'tpick in my presence and her phone is always on silence). She had blocked alot(she said about 70 and I'm like wow... later she said some females friends inclusive), but the calls wouldn't stop coming. Infact, she still keep contacts of people she has had stuffs with. She deleted all(supposedly), but I discovered she still keep the contact of one of the FWB(They had it twice in his house), now blocked too!
I couldn't just come to terms with how she seems to be the only female with many male friends(believe me when I say many). Obviously, she willing to settle down, but it's like some forces are really messing with her head. Took my time to tell her this isn't healthy... as she mistakenly slept with 2 of her friends already... Just to avoid further events she should stop male friends, but she is always giving excuses for some. Spoke to her mum about it too, and she said whe would change that it is gradual, that she will never cheat in our marriage!
My second issue with her is she is too aggressive. Infact, we had many heated arguments that I ended slapping her on two occasions before she became calm. Bad mouth, almost giving me headbutt, locking and tearing my knickers, spoiling my door... and If I couldn't bear any more I slap her to reset her brain(anytime I discover her lies, she will start wahala).
I am not a woman beater, but I can conveniently make case for some men that women brought the beast out of them. On a night she told me either she kills me or I kill her. I had to beg so she wouldn't kill me overnight. I only called her a liar and she began her aggression as usual, raising her voice to high heavens, disturbing my neighbors, abusing me... before I slapped her.(I am afraid the slap is the medicine, which i can't continue to do)
Spiritually she is good, I've prayed and saw good dreams about her. But, the aggression and men issue is killing me.
My fear is won't she cheat on me in our marriage and won't we end up as a royal rumble couples as she is too aggressive and unapologetic. She could keep to herself as long as she wants(whenever we have issues), but I am the lovey dovey type. I end up appeasing her to come to me at every issue.
She only begs and cries back to me after a day or two(Note: She wouldn't even admit her wrongs, she will only cry that why am I particular about her past. I'm always like but there are still in our present, until you do away with them completely(No chatting/calling, even with male friends of these men o)!
We've both seen our parents and getting married soon, as I've already proposed to her!
She and her family also wants me to keep and take care of her child, when the father is hale and hearty and balling. I have custody of mine, because I want my ex to have freedom to get herself and start life again without any burden or responsibility(mutually agreed).
The guy is always facetiming the child, but when is time for responsibilities, he comes up with different excuses, obviously he has the money, but only playing smart.
mayor1814: To me, DAGRIN is the best and greatest rap artist to ever come out of Nigeria. My points. hard-core rap skills, he had it in abundance.... lyrical strength, he had it in abundance.... street cred, he had it in abundance.... popularity, he had it in abundance.... commercial success, he had it in abundance..... I respect mode9 , M.I and the likes but how many of them can boast of all have listed. it's either they have one or two and don't have the others e.g mode9 is no doubt a great hard-core rap artist/MC but he doesn't have the commercial success or popularity of DAGRIN never. Even till today, DAGRIN songs and names ring bell more than that of mode9. As for M.I, he doesn't have the street cred and popularity that DAGRIN possessed. Dr Alban of the early 90s went low key after the hit "It's my life" DAGRIN HAD IT ALL. CHAMPION with General Pype and others - DAGRIN killed that song. THANK GOD ft Omawumi. it has to be one of the top 5,or top 10 songs to ever come out of Nigeria. GHETTO DREAMS - What a lyrical masterpiece. "mo wish lati mowe bi Wole Soyinka, but problem ti mo ni, a won sisi yimika" Ni Gboro - ft Isolate. IF I DIE - ONE of the deepest hip hop songs in the world, not only Naija. Reminds one of 2pac deep songs. DAGRIN is the greatest rapper to ever come out of Naija
When it seems you have your life all planned out: Actress, married young to a successful man, late Jaiye Aboderin( son of owner Punch Newspaper)... Then death happens and one begins to toe paths that may have never crossed her mind previously just to be in love.
Great actors too( Wunmi Obe and Tunde Obe), the latter was a son to a member of Diplomatic corp but death now happened..... Some still see Tunde as one broke guy that married the daughter of Aboderin but they don't know that he actually married from his TRUE cadre/level for a wife.
Death knows how to rubbish people and make their offsprings look less than others who they are supposed to be on the same level or higher.
true, Jaiye was Wunmi Obe's Brother. Gone too soon.
