The assumption of ogundoyin was just his father influence and for the speaker ship to continue in Ibarapa east.... I saw him when he visited Eruwa, He came to my PPA and donate some educational materials to our students. So Adebo Ogundoyin did not perform when he became speaker? |

Politics › Re: 2023: States That May Likely Have A New Party After Govs Elections Tomorrow by sageb: 4:49pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
inforesource: There is so much awakening in Nigeria politics. It will be foolish for someone to think that it is business as usual.
What I want to do today is to list few states that may not have their usual party winning the tomorrow's election. Below are the states, you can add yours.
1. Akwa Ibom State: There is a lot of disharmony in the state as we speak. In fact my LGA, Oron is playing opposition in the state and other LGAs. Aside this, people are tired of PDP in the state. They are looking for a fresh party and ideas. To worsen the situation, the flag bearer of PDP gov mandate is a turn off for many Akwa Ibomite. Especially his recent Happy Hour policy.
2. Abia State: This State is overdue for a change in party because among the states in the south and South East, Abia state comes worst in terms of development. In fact, it is like a curse. Even the enemy of Abia State is tired of her backwardness. So be sure to see a change here.
3. Lagos State: Lagos State is also in the eye of the storm. To be truthful with you, many Lagosians are tired of APC and the dominant of her godfather. Even many "Loyalist" of Tinubu are working against him behind. The reason is not far fetch. It is human. Any time people perceive that you are dominating them, they will revolt. Sometimes they will work against you behind while praising you in your presence or where they will get favors.
Unfortunately, the few who are still benefiting from the current deny these obvious facts. They think it is Ibos that are trying to change the system. No, it is the core Lagosians who is driving the change mantra, other tribes joined in the struggle. You can verify this from the Oluomo Twitter handle where #Mobolajiejikedantata responded that they were not igbos but many Omo Ale Yorubas and that they are many. Lagos condition now is not surprising to me. It is a normal phenomenon.
4. Benue State: The past 8 years has been so rough for this State. Even the current government seems so helpless. It has been from one tragedy to another and people are tired and looking for quick answers and solutions to their plight which seems not to be in sight. So expect to see a change.
5. Plateau State: I don't know much about this state but what I do know is that there have been too many attacks in some sections of the state in the last 8 years. These has fueled a lot of resentment and people are tired of their situation and need a change as well.
You can add yours. PDP will win Plateau APC will win Lagos and Benue LP will win Abia state YPP will win Akwa Ibom |

Politics › Re: Festus Daumiebi Sunday: Bayelsa State APC Guber Aspirant by sageb: 8:15pm On Mar 15, 2023 |
mosdii: Festus Daumiebi Sunday: Against All Odds.
In the late 70's in Obodo biri in Fonibiri community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, a child was born to face the uncertainties of this world. Born to an educational conscious father who was a primary school teacher and a farmer and fishing mother, his early days were not different from a typical ijaw youth in the creeks of Niger Delta.
As he grew, he learnt the art of survival from his parents at a tender age. He joined his mother in the fishing, farming and trading business. After school hours, young Festus Daumiebi Sunday always hanged around the jetty, helping traders move their wares from the local boats and he was paid for his efforts.
After his primary school, he worked vigorously and steadfastly to save money to go to secondary school as he loves education.
At a young age, he loved speaking for people and helping his peers with the little he had. He faced enormous difficulty at home with sometimes no food to eat. With all these uncertainties surrounding him, he was not deterred, he was adamant that he will further his education due to his love for knowledge.
He was able to complete his secondary school and obtained his senior school certificate in 2001 against all odds and proceeded to pursue diploma in law in Bayelsa State College Of Arts & Science (BYCAS) in 2001.
He was elected as the president of the student union government (SUG) in Bayelsa State College Of Arts & Science (BYCAS) in 2001 due to his penchant for speaking and representing people. He held this position until the National Union Of Bayelsa State Students (NUBSS) was birthed in the institution and he was again elected as the pioneer president. His less privileged background didn't deter him from carving a niche for himself.
After his diploma degree, he proceeded to the newly established Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State to study Law. He continued his activism as a comrade with the hatred for oppression and suppression.
In 2004 through his instrumentality, the National Union Of Bayelsa State Students (NUBSS) Niger Delta University (NDU) Wilberforce Island was formed and he was inaugurated as the pioneer president from 2004 - 2005. He later became the Senate president in 2005 - 2006.
He later became the acting National President of National Union Of Bayelsa State Students (NUBSS) world wide. It is on record that Festus Daumiebi Sunday led hundreds of Bayelsa State students to protest the increase of school fees in the institution and for this protest, he was rusticated for 3 semesters. As a calm and energetic young leader, he didn't engage the management of Niger Delta University in a physical brawl but he showed his dexterity, intelligence and impeccable composure by challenging the rustication placed on him. He mettled this course till he was granted justice.
It is on record that he is the first student that took the institution to court and won the case. The present acting chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Mrs Aye Mieye was the presiding judge over that case.
During his period of rustication, Festus Daumiebi Sunday founded Daumiebi & Sons (Nig) Ltd in 2006.
He later founded DAF Properties Ltd in 2008, Bayelsa State leading property company.
In 2016, he co-founded Daumiebi Festus & Associates, a law firm where he presently serve as an associate partner.
In 2018, he aspired to represent the good people of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the national assembly. He won the primary and contested the general election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In 2019, he served as the deputy director mobilizations and operations in the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial campaign council for the Bayelsa State gubernatorial election.
With all these wealth of experience as a young man, he has once again offered himself for service through the instrumentality of the youths. His burning desire to see a new Bayelsa state gave birth to the New Bayelsa Movement which he is spear heading to become the Governorship flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming coming Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Election.
From his antecedents, he has shown that he is a quintessence of grass to grace. Nice bio but David Lyon will defeat him in the APC primary Election. |

Politics › Re: Four Days To Governorship Election, SDP Candidate Steps Down For Makinde by sageb: 4:53pm On Mar 14, 2023 |
adenigga: Ahead of Saturday’s governorship elections, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, Michael Lana, has stepped down from the race. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Ibadan, Lana also endorsed the candidacy of the state governor and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Seyi Makinde.
Lana said he stepped down from the governorship race because some party chieftains believed only in money politics and victory by vote-buying.
He lamented that some party leaders in the state had sold them out for a pittance and declared for the opposition without their knowledge or consent.
He said, “During my radio interview recently, I duly informed the members of the public that whatever step I would take would be determined by the decision of all candidates, especially the House of Assembly candidates of the SDP of which I am the governorship flagbearer.
“We have also consulted widely. We have talked with some national officers of the party and my supporters among the trade unions, traditional rulers, market associations and religious bodies.
“As you are aware, in almost all radio interviews I attended, I was asked whether, as it had become the habit of this party, I too would step down at the end of the day. Believing I was in the midst of ideologically sound members, and knowing myself as a principled person, I always answered in the negative. I believed fervently that my gospel of preaching issues and ideas would earn me the victory that the people of the state deserve.”
Lana explained that he had consulted widely before stepping down to support Makinde and the decision was taken alongside the House of Assembly candidates.
He added: “We had to sit down and rethink and take a decision that will be in the best interest of the neglected and aggrieved party members, the candidates and the generality of the people of the state that we set out to serve. After several consultations, we resolved that the best thing for the state right now is to align ourselves with a really progressive candidate.
“We have, therefore, resolved to inform all our teeming supporters to vote massively for Makinde of the PDP on Saturday, March 18, 2023 and get him re-elected as governor of the state.”

So in Oyo state female Muslim students can wear Hijab the right female students in Kwara state under a Muslim AbduRahman Abdulrazaq don't enjoy. He rebuilt mosque demolished because it is standing in the way of construction. In all the Park he built in Oyo state there's a mosque for prayer. I can go on and on. SickOfItAll: I opened this account because I want honest opinions. I also posted this in this section because I believe there are more matured people here even though no thanks to this election period, it is flooded with all sorts.
I'm 30 years old. I have nothing. I mean, nothing. Nothing except my family's love. That would go away too if I kill myself. I would throw them into disarray and perpetual sadness because I'm the first child. Since 2020, I've not had 20k of my own money. Be like say I'm under some kind of curse. I I have been depressed since my early 20s because anything I do with or without effort never yields good results. I can't even point to any successful endeavor I've had in my life. If I go on social media and check all my mates from primary, secondary and college, at least 90% are doing well. I attended top class schools so it's natural for you to see a lot of success when you check your mates. Two or more have been so successful, they've made front page on Nairaland for successful endeavors in their respective fields. Here I am without a university degree (not for lack of trying), with a history of selling drugs to support my family and siblings. I even regret stopping that because the people we did that together, today they have built their own houses and drive their cars. I've never made 500k of my own money at once ever. I am currently living with my parents and siblings in our room and parlour apartment which is a fall from grace because I grew up in a 3-bedroom flat in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Lagos mainland, visiting my dad's under construction duplex at the time which he ended up selling along with all his other properties just to meet up. I'm looking at my siblings and there's too many similarities with what I passed through. Only difference is they never turned to the streets. They're what you'd call Ajebo by face but pako by situation. I see my mates with families of their own, running successful enterprises, and loads of people proud of them. When I sleep at night sometimes, I don't want to wake up because everyday is the same. I'm afraid I will never be anything anyone will be proud of. I sold weed and crack and got out of the game as easily as I got in... something a lot of people cannot say. I guess I was too chicken because I wouldn't commit murder like drinking pure water. (If you know, you know). I know it seems like I'm rambling, I kind of am. I'm tired of everything. Nothing makes sense to me anymore. I'm a liability to myself and my family. People see me and think I'm having a good life. Women see me and smile because I'm good looking but I'm not interested. Infact, I've not been with a woman in like 3 years and it doesn't bother me. I don't go to parties, I don't do drugs, I don't socialize because of this prolonged depression.
If you understand what I'm going through, what do you think is best for me right now. Matured responses please. Id hate to bring pangs of pain to my parents and siblings due to my suicide. @OP you did not add your qualification and vocational skills acquired so that any one reading this post who intends to help (job, patronage, etc) can do so. A sad tale but even if you have to work and walk alone, don't give up. There's light at the end of the tunnel. |

TonyeBarcanista: By Tonye Barcanista
1. Delta State is a State in Nigeria that enjoys synergy between the Executive and Legislative arms of government. The State operates LGA and Legislative Autonomy, and is among those that passed the LGA Autonomy amendment bill
2. The Okowa administration has made progress in healthcare delivery, education, infrastructural and human capital development. The government successfully constructed over 2000km roads and 1000km drainages across the state.
3. Okowa administration did not borrow N850bn from anywhere - even the state's debt burden since creation is not up yo N300bn. Okowa only took N100bn bridging-finance facility to be paid from the N217bn FG owes Delta State. In layman's terms, the N100bn will be taken from the N217bn FG owes Delta State.
5. N10bn out of the N100bn, was spent on State and LGA pensions, while N81bn was Spent on the Koka Flyover and Interchange, Mariam Babangida Leisure Park and Film Village, and Ughelli-Asaba Dualisation and others - which have been completed except two.
6. This government spread its road and bridge projects to the Creeks and other riverside communities in Ijaw and Itsekiri lands.
7. The Okowa administration equally & successfully concessioned the Asaba Airport and Delta Line Transport Company to private investors - which has already yielded a positive result.
8. Irrespective of any sentiment, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done greatly with the mandates of Deltans, what Delta need is a government of continuity to consolidate on the numerous gains of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa - this can only happen by electing Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of #PDP.
The opposition has been campaigning on propaganda and whipping up ethnic sentiments, they have been lying to Deltans just to have access to Delta State treasury. Ironically, they are fronting someone that led thugs into the Senate Chamber to steal mace as replacement. Be wise!
