chyna4luv: Hi pals. Please i have a friend whom has been bothered on how to solve this problem during an interview interactive section. The question is is it clock wise to wipe or clean the sweat on your face during an interview section with the interviewer? If yes, how can one do that professionally without being implicated? God bless you all as you help with cogent answers.I am not quite sure about this question you have asked. Do you mean to ask if it is wise to wipe the sweat off one's face when faced with the interviewer in an interview? Or do you mean to ask what direction(clockwise/anticlockwise) should one wipe his face when faced with such a scenario? Well, which ever of the two it may be, i'll try to attempt an opinion on the two(2) cases scenario. (1.) For the first one which asked if it would be proper to wipe the sweat off one's face when facing the interviewer. For me, i think that's indicative of a red flag on the part of the interviewee because doing so at that very precise moment may indicate nervousness or jittery attitude which would suggest to the interviewer that the candidate isn't quite confident of himself or herself. However, this may not necessarily seem to be the case as sweating under such a situation could be natural at that moment especially if the office is hot or stuffy and there isn't much room for ventilation or something, so in this case one would naturally be expected to sweat. But then, i still wouldn't suggest wiping your face before the interviewer for reasons i mentioned above unless you begin to appear irritating to him/her and then the request is made from the interviewer himself for you to do so. (2.) On the second case scenario which asked in what direction would one normally wipe his face under such a situation. I think that would be quite easy to tell - To you the interviewee it would be anticlockwise while to interviewer it appears clockwise. But if you aren't right handed like me then the case should probably be the other way round because i only gave this view due to the fact that i'm so right-handed. I guess that's all you wanted to ask/know? Right? NB : Generally, the right practice would be for you to avoid the sweat if possible but i know this isn't the case for some unlike me that hardly sweats unless if it's really scorching hard and sweltering hot...! Phew...! I think i'm already sweating right about now. Please could you hand me your handkerchief, face towel or something to wipe the sweat off my face? ![]() |
adsonstone: intead of referring me to this, I think you should refer me to someone God punished after Christ died for his sins.....that would be better.SMH....Your arguments are always 'literal' but it lacks proof of a well thought process. |

Elose11: We have not seen anything here in Gwags, Abuja. Though the weather is a bit cloudy. Those of you claiming to have seen it in other parts of the country, how sure are you?Stop sounding unintelligent, its happening over there in Abuja live and direct. |
Ajibel: Aguda, surulere - everything looks normal, no hEclipseYou are not following the right instructions to view it. 8-) |

k0d3ch1k: Has anyone heared about the eera undergraduate scholarship, how true is it?No..i haven't and where did you hear about it? You can as well post more info here for us. Thanks! |
Davo93: Quite persuasive! Like i said, there is still need for more strategic dialogue.@ Op.....Dude honestly, i couldn't help but comment on this post. The truth be told, all this while, i have been reading all your counter reactions to other posters and so far there has only being one constant and that is, you are struggling so hard to convince us because right inside your head you know your write-up can't even convince a lay man talkless of someone who is literally and technically proficient. You have kept on insisting on a "smoke-screen" approach by sticking what you refer to as strategic dialogue. please where is the strategy in all that bulky but weightless arguments you have been trying to shove down our throats...or i don't understand the meaning of the word 'strategy' anymore? Look...friend you are just wallowing in an abyss of your own aperture. Dump your sentimental bullshits and come down to earth to face reality, what will only work in Nigeria as far this grossly irresponsible government is concerned is STRIKE. And if the lasting solutions we seek will emanate from this strike action, of course i don't even see anything else working, then let the strike continue. And one last piece of advice, if you still doubt the fallibility of your write-up and its potency to convince the people on NL. Simply conduct an opinion poll or a kind of referendum on NL to find out those who will be for it/against it. Good Luck...! |

ideology: young man, don't bring those childish attitude here, learn to respect people and watch your words, I had no bad feelings with your post, expect where you said we shd take the discussion to beer palour, this is a professional group, you don't know anyone here in person. so careful of what your say.who are you to issue such threat? And referring to someone as ITK for only stating what is right and proper counts as respect to you, right? If you don't want this thread to be destroyed for all its intents and purposes. Kindly resist replying to this post, else i'll bring it to the attention of the mods. |
quivah: @2sexy... its actually archaeology mixed with geology . a 2 degree honor..i think i have seen or heard about that combination before. If the degree bears Bsc. Archaeology, then you should go directly for a strictly Msc. in Geology/Geosciences. I see that as your only option. I know someone who did it that way. |
My thoughts on this whole issue after deliberate review: The thing is that while she may be corrupt, we know that some other corrupt forces are also trying to oust her out of office. Let us not doubt that media agents are operating under this motive. The "gang-up" article on Stella comes to mind. If we succeed in getting rid of Stella, have we really solved one battle against corruption? Or are we substituting one corrupt form for another? The only way to rid Nigeria of some corruption is to tear the entire machine down. Almost all the personalities in Nigerian politics are a cog in the corrupt Machine. Including those bent on removing Stella. So what gives? Ousting her will certainly not remove the faults in the aviation ministry. For all we know it may make it worse. Will be watching to see how it all develops.
Nne...! You ended up not really saying anything meaningful of note. So what's the way forward now? since you think she may be corrupt, but you would rather blame the invincible MR. CORRUPTION than our Sister for her sins. Don't be on the fence on this matter, if investigated and found culpable and guilty of the crime, should she be persecuted? Yes or No. I don't need sentiments for answers. We must rid this land of the monster called corruption. |
Tuntheycr7: Tanx man.Ok please check your inbox for the mail...i sent to you. |

To the Organizers and mods of the essay contest, here is a question for you : Please what's the prize for the winner(s) of the contest? |
Asabeq: I know himThat's if you even know who i'm talking about, but then i would allow you have your guess! |
henchamb: am perturbed that none of our contestant referenced his or her work properly. this calls for our English teachers to up their game.In as much as you are right in your assertion, i would like to add this ; what if there were no specific rules given to them about how they should reference their work? This is a NL essay contest and as such it should have its own rules and regulations just like every other essay contest. So don't be too quick to deflate their morale. And again if i may ask you this, in your own opinion what type of reference would you opt for in an academic essay and how would you know if it is the proper one to use? I'm asking you this because to the best of my knowledge there are several types of referencing e.g ALA, ASA, Library of Congress, e.t.c. These are all types of referencing and even some specific scientific journals also have their own unique methods of referencing. PS : I noticed in your comment above, you started with a small letter rather than a capital letter. And again you wrote- "am" which i thought should have been "I am" or "I'm". Technically, if you write like this in an academic essay, would you be critical of your own writing style? |
AmBeautiful: Nice.Haha....i thought i was the only who noticed that. In other words, in the next edition i would love to see you as a contestant. How about that? Lol...! :p |
There was one particular essay that held me spell-bound out of all the entries. I had to read it from start to finish twice! I'm sure the person knows himself, of course he's a guru in the NL Literature section, so i wasn't surprised at all. The content, the vertical flow of points, the connecting paragraphs, the flawless grammar, infact all the technical criteria one normally does look out for in an essay were all present and on point too. Thumbs up to the fellow...as i won't mention the name yet. |
ideology: how? I saw your name, industrial chemistry. was I dreaming. with call up number that day.You guys are derailing on this thread, this isn't the purpose why the thread was created. Kindly take your gist outside to somewhere else, maybe probably a beer parlour. Thank You! |
chapatti: I have clicked all the available links and yet am still finding it hard to submit my application. What should I do? Any alternative? http://pressgist.com/online-application-for-federal-civil-service-recruitment-2013/Didn't you see the end of application date on those links. The process ended since last month. Those who applied then are waiting for aptitude tests call! So try next time. |
kommiejewel: Evrybdy's shoutin: 'Govt fufill d agreement'. Y'all hav forgottn dat d president who signed dis deal is dead,GEJ was jst a VP then. What is this one saying? The total amount they (ASUU) are demanding for from the FG. Is child's play compared to the amount used in servicing those bunch of Lazy pot-bellied legislators every single year(yes you heard me right, every single year) and this they are even demanding over a period of 4 years. Anyway...i believe ASUU won't back off from their position. |
