US, Amnesty Intl,New York whatever, biggest hypocrites of all times... You dnt want to sell arms to govts because they would use it on civilians, but the question one would ask is, who is selling arms to these terrorists groups, ISIS, al shaabab, Al Qaeda, BOKO HARAM, is it mehuh Or is it You??, These countries r heavily involved n illegal arms deal, thts were they make their money, any Boko Haram dey produce anti aircraft gun, they r d ones selling to them........ Then they would come out n d open n b talking rubbish bout another countries military, inshort this US own Don too much, as for amnesty intl tlkin rubbish, do dey know d number of civilians have fallen in the arms of US, d deployment of ground troops n Iraq, d invasion of Libya, doesn't all tht violate intl laws yet d foolish amnesty intl would keep quiet, y??... because it's US.... HealthNMA Backs FG On Deregulation Of Oil Sector by saintmark88(op): 1:09pm On May 19, 2016
The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, yesterday lend its weight to the Federal government deregulation of the oil sector. In a press statement signed by its President, Prof Mike Ozovehe Ogirim‎, the medical doctors however insisted that the deregulation must be on grounds that part of the proposed palliatives would include the immediate release of at least 5 percent of the consolidated revenue fund as the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHPF) which the National Health Act has given to Nigerians and has guaranteed it’s availability.

Ozovehe Ogirim‎, posited that the fund would revamp Primary Health Care (PHC) and reinvigorate the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to cover all Nigerians. According to him, “We also press for the immediate rehabilitation and establishment of functional PHC in all the wards nationwide as a way of cushioning the harsh effects of out-of-pocket expenditure and various inequities in Healthcare delivery.”

He further urged the federal government to mobilise contractors to sites of ongoing road rehabilitation as this will reduce delays in reaching health care facilities and reduce road traffic accidents in the country. “We call for the immediate establishment of National emergency ambulance service for quick rescue and resuscitation of emergencies from our roads, provision of low tariff buses and rehabilitation of our railway system.”

CrimeRonke Shonde: Autopsy Attributes Death To Respiratory Seizure by saintmark88(op): 5:54am On May 19, 2016
The much anticipated autopsy report on late Ronke Shonde, the mother of two allegedly killed by her husband, Lekan, two weeks ago in Egbeda area of Lagos, during a scuffle, is out.

The report, as reliably gathered, reached detectives at about 8.45p.m. yesterday. Although police authorities kept mum over the content of the report, Vanguard was reliably informed that it attributed late Ronke Shonde’s death to some injuries in the head.

It also revealed that water clustered in her head. Again, the report which was reportedly signed by one Dr. Shoyemi, a Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, disclosed that late Ronke Shonde died as a result of respiratory seizure. But it ruled out the possibility of her death due to violent marks on her face. The autopsy was conducted last Thursday, with its result expected to be out in three days. But Vanguard was informed that it was delayed due to the absence of the Chief Pathologist, who reportedly travelled out of the country. While he was being expected, an inconclusive report, which emerged Tuesday, however, showed that the bruises on the corpse could not establish the cause of her death.

However, sources said further medical checks finally attributed the cause of her death to “respiratory seizure as a result of water in the head and some injuries also in the head.” With the report, sources said detectives would then continue with the next line of investigation, which reliably will include, among others, the mental stability of Lekan, who is still in their custody. Recall that Lekan, who initially went into hiding after the incident, gave himself in to the Police in Lagos, where he denied culpability over his wife’s death. He was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department ,SCIID, Yaba.

Its all about perception bro. Jonathan remains an intelligent man in my own opinion. Do you know the same subsidy issue gave rise to SURE-P?

Do you remember the new buses released by Jonathan to cushion the effect of fuel hike? same hike that was opposed by all and sundry?

Now, apart from promises, what has Buhari done to cushion the harsh economy?

Same Jonathan increased salaries just before the decision.

Same Jonathan made that decision when N160 = $1

How can we trust further promises when the previous ones have been denied?

Anyway, its all about perception, 2019 would tell. If Buhari excels, I would be glad.

Who even owns the idea of subsidy removal and reinvestment?
This is my problem with u guys, u guys r so delusional, which buses did GEJ buy, did u c d bus in ur state??, GEJ bought buses n ABJ n u call it palliatives?? , was it only in Abuja Dt d price of fuel was increased??, if buses were bought, Pls provide a picture of d buses today n ur state... I hate pple Tht deceive themselves... Sure-p was a scam, d same Christopher kolade led sure -p, tht he had to resign because of the gross corruption that was going on there??, I bet u didn't know d chairman resigned...... Let's b very careful, we shouldn't look at injustice and bad governance in d face n choose to turn a blind eye because of what ever reason.... Nigerians have little trust in this govt, no matter how much they r insulted, I m surprised Tht Nigerians r ready to suffer n smile because they know d govt means well

It surprises me the way Nigerians have responded to this issue, It shows their support for this govt even inspite of the hardship, Nigerians know what they want, we r not stupid, question is, how come Nigerians support this govt in its decision to deregulate d downstream sector but n 2012 occupied everywhere n fought d govt to a stand still... I think d answer is simple... The charisma ND credibility of the leader... Nigerians didn't trust GEJ with d proceeds from subsidy, buh they do with PMB...Nigerians believe that with PMB at d helms of affairs, this money would be put to judicious use... My analysis

Kindly inform FG they have 24 hrs to heed to the request of Labour of 90,000 naira min wage and reverse to the old pump price otherwise Nigeria will be on strike till their useless One year in office.

Very painful that a junior minster can wake up and announce a fuel pump price while the Min of Petroleum is away.

Who wouldn't want want better things? The subsidy removal is wrong timing, increase workers salary, then you can talk of increase of fuel pump price, they are taking us for granted.

PMB and his team just show us Indirect way of devaluing of Naira.

When GEJ did same in 2012, the likes of Tinibu, Rufai, Fashola, Bakare protested, Oooh they now realize GEJ was on the right track?

APC must apologize to GEJ and his team.

PoliticsFuel Price Hike: Nlc Insist On Reversal by saintmark88(op): 6:55am On May 17, 2016
THE Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC, and its affiliate body, Trade Union Congress,TUC, yesterday, vowed to press ahead with its industrial action scheduled to commence tomorrow if the Federal Government failed to revert to old pump price of petrol.

This came as the House of Representatives started its special plenary on fuel price hike on a rowdy note.

ROWDY SESSION: House of Representatives in a rowdy session over hike in fuel price, at the National Assembly, Abuja, yesterday. Also, labour leaders and others met with the leadership of Department of State Service, DSS, and Nigeria Police Force, NPF, over the security implications of the planned industrial action billed to start tomorrow. NLC and TUC also asked the government to not only put all the nation’s refineries to optimal use, but also increase minimum wage, besides putting all necessary palliatives measures before deregulation of oil. Leaders of NLC and TUC spoke formal commencement of the meeting it held with the government over May 11 increment of fuel price. But the government pleaded with the labour organisations to see reasons with its action and shelve its planned strike, saying it was open to dialogue with the bodies.

This was even as the governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, who was at the meeting to mediate between labour, said opposed agitation for wage increment, saying it was not sustainable at the moment. Factional NLC president, Ayuba Wabba and President of TUC, Bobboi Kaigama, said there was the need for government to reverse to old pump price of fuel, given that the development was having a toll on the masses. At the time of this report, both government and labour had not shifted. Dr Chris Ngige, who presented government’s position, said the government was opened to dialogue, urging the labour leaders to consider the proposed industrial action as the least possible option. Among those that were at the meeting included factional President of NLC, ,Ayuba Wabba and ,Joe Ajaero, General Secretary of NLC, Dr. ,Peter Ozo-Eson, NUPENG President, Igwe Achese, PENGASSAN President, Francis Olabode Johnson, President of TUC, Bobboi Kaigma, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Minister of Labour & Employment ,Dr Chris Ngige, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate),Senator Ita Enang, Secretary Government of the Federation, SGF, Engr. Babachir Lawal. Others were Ministers of State, Petroleum, Ibe Kachukwu, of f Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma, Information and Culture,,Lai Mohammed and Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi. At the meeting were the Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, Minister of State, Petroleum, Ibe Kachukwu, Ministers of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma, Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi. Before the meeting dissolved into a technical session, newsmen were asked to leave.
