The second option appeals to my sense of style. I would however, apply a few tweaks. Thus
1 more ambient light
2 Acrylic frames
3 Expanded couch positioning( I do not like how closely knitted the chairs are)
4. The TV console area looks bare. I have seem better designs also. A wall-to-wall wall flutted panel is more like it.
5. Other walls would be styled with wall cladding and the acrylic frames quoted in 2 encased in the cladding.

"This" is called "Contemporary" design while "That" is a "Modern" design.
