So this guy has time responding to this glaring scam?

Are you sure you are graduate with all respect ?

Nawa oooi

I got the same mail and couldn't even read the rest when applicant instead of name was used

They are even so nice to have told you that they are 419 in you application number.

Thank God you came here
you are even thinking of takineg loan ahhhh
aye oooo
Bros, I respect your view. Experience, they say, is the best teacher. I have never experienced something of this magnitude. Yes, I was naive and careless not to see them as what they are but that doesn't mean I ate my school fees. If some well educated foreigners can be duped by some Nigerian 419ers many of whom are School Cert holders, do we say that the scammed are illiterates to be duped as such? Being educated is not just about how well you can speak and write, it also borders on how well moulded you are, in character and learning.

If unknowingly falling for fraudulent tricks is a symbol of illiteracy, those that spend money and their time to attend interview invites from Multi-level Marketers posing as recruiting firms should be categorized as illiterates. It's important that graduates desist from unfounded generalizations and wrong use of words. Thank you!

This is not convincing enough. Capturing your screen is very simple as there is a PrintScreen button on every keyboard or using the Snipping Tool available on Windows. I can't believe that you don't know how to capture your screen because it's so elementary.
When you have been using BlackBerry phones for over a long period of time, you may be a novice when it comes to operating functions on Android phone. Not to worry, I have just been brought up to speed.

To all commenters doubting my sincerity, I will post photos of all documents, mails etc, sent to me by the fraudsters as well as the mails I sent to them. I must add that I have only decided to do that because I have established beyond doubt (thanks to nairaland) that the invite came from scammers; as such, I will not be committing corporate copyright infringement by disclosing such information.

Expect the photos by the close of work, 25/11/2015. Peace!

You should be ashamed of yourself that you want to be a scammer. Why didn't you post this same mail earlier to substantiate your claims and clear our cynicism about you? I challenge you to post a screenshot of this same mail from your inbox let's look at it. We all want to believe you and not label you a scammer. Everybody can't be thinking in the same direction about you and yet you say it's our individual perception which doesn't reflect your true nature. Convince us to think otherwise.
Man, I appreciate your understanding that issues should be tackled but not the poster. At first, I didn't want to reply you but I feel that you have earned the right to be replied, through your shown maturity. You challenged me to post screenshot of the quoted mail from the fraudsters. I am not very good at 'screenshotting'. Please find below, a copy of the mail I sent to the travel agency of the fraudsters who claimed to be Aggregate Industries Limited and their reply mail.

@The bolded... How do you know about this since you stated earlier that you are "underemployed"? cry

See whose talking about basic corporate ethics. Same you gave us the company details, salary "specs" (according to you), told your "relative" in "Europe", etc. Where was your basic corporate ethics? undecided
So you can't provide just one proof or screenshot to show transparency? You're just a silly learner scammer.

B@$t@rd son of a thousand fathers.
I have been expecting you to reach this crescendo. Well, there you are! I refuse to stoop that low. Henceforth, I choose not to dignify your chicanery with a response. Do have a nice day.

Philadelphia:
@OP. I chose to take this on a light ear but I just have to do this so you'll know that Nigerians are not all stupid. I have questions for you which are all coined from the bolded.
Prove the following (clear doubts as the need has arisen) so all can see and decide your case:
1.) Screenshots of the job specs and attachments.
2.) You said the figures in the job specs seems to be too mouth watering to be true. Yet, you believe it.
3.) Prove that the company expects all applicants to use their affiliate travel agency.
4.) Screenshot the contacts you made with the travel agency and the figures they gave you. If na phone call, give us the number so we'll call them and help you confirm.
5.) Prove that the company would reimburse every applicant on arrival.
6.) You suspected that the company would be a scam and did further research. What did your research reveal? Support with screenshots.
7.) Your relation is in Europe and cannot help you with accomodation or little help? Explain.
8.) Since you worry that this opportunity would pass you by as you lack the funds, why then come to this forum to solicit "advice"? You concluded that you don't have the money to sponsor yourself, what do you need our "advice" for?

This one sums it all up OP:

A.) Where did you read the company's policy statement from that they would refund every applicant's travel expenses? Give us the link to their policy statement page.

B.) When did you become the company's spokesman to make the statement (in bold) "That is understandable given the fact that they didn't want to waste money and process travel requirements of applicants and then, some applicants will fail to turn up"

Answer all these questions with supporting links, phone number(s) or/ and screenshots.
Providing the information you requested will not stop your hate campaign. You can as well request that I provide evidence that it is not a robot that created this post. Man, you believe I'm a scammer and nothing else can get you to change that mindset. It's fine with me. Everyone is entitled to his opinion. Don't just make it look like there's something else between us. I have no axe to grind with you. You requested that I should provide screenshots of details given to me in legal confidence. That's against basic corporate ethics, if you have worked in a corporate environment.

Well, I will leave you to your doubts. All the best!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: He's Invited For An Interview In The UK But Lack Funds To Process Travel Needs by Samakus(op): 9:29am On Nov 18, 2015
For the umpteenth time, I feel that I have to clarify some comments made here.

Believe it or not, this thread was not created as a means of soliciting for funds from any of you. Neither was it intended to scam anyone. This was just a platform for me to seek advice from whoever that cares, on the issue of invitation I received from Aggregate Industries Limited or whoever that is posing as them.

Firstly, I must say that i'm not a genius or extraordinarily good to get an invite from a foreign company, as some commenters queried. All I do is to read the job descriptions and requirements very well and then, tailor my CV to meet those requirements, if I believe that I have the requisite skills for the job. Anybody, regardless of your country of residence/origin, can get called for an interview by a foreign company as long as you meet the organisation's job requirements.

Again, I understand that many people cannot just attack the issue at hand without attacking the person (argumentum ad hominem). I do understand! I have no qualms about that. I considered that these kind of people will comment, hence my initial admonition that I can endure such insults. For grammatical blunders I may have committed, I stand to learn from your corrections. I'm progressively committed to learning and improving. Thank you for your corrections.

Lastly, my profile is open for your perusal. My identity is not hidden because I have nothing to fear for. Every of my posts has been about information and help to anyone that needs it. So feel free to open and read. Thank you for your advice, suggestions, criticism and information. I appreciate all of it. I refuse to join issues with anybody. If the need arises, I will still still clear more doubts as the come.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: He's Invited For An Interview In The UK But Lack Funds To Process Travel Needs by Samakus(op): 7:57pm On Nov 17, 2015
Thank you all for your suggestions. Couldn't reply all as I was engaged at that time.

For the records, what I posted was neither an attempt to gain cheap popularity nor a scam on my part. I am just a brother in dilemma of choice - to go for the interview or not. I may have sounded foolish to some of you, fraudulent to a few, desperate to some and ambitious to others (like myself). Yet, I will say that I'm just genuinely ambitious and somewhat looking for better opportunities to what I am having right now - which is nothing to write home about, compared to the responsibilities on my shoulders.

I want to appreciate in a special way, Mr Zelex9 for the link he sent to me. I will surely explore that option. To Mr Philadelphia, I understand that you find it hard to believe people but you just have to know that not everyone is a scammer. I appreciate your criticism and cynicism though.

Once again, thank you all for your advises. It has helped, a lot. God bless Nairalanders!

Nice opinion. Easier said than done. What guarantee do you have that the businesses will thrive and stand the test of time. With little experience, businesses are always better on paper. Besides, if the organization is real as all pointers are saying right now, the funds spent will be reimbursed regardless of whether you succeed in the interview or not.

That's not to say that I'm still not apprehensive of the company being a scam. Hence, the need for this post.

Thanks all the same. I appreciate your perspective.

Don't mind this OP. It's either he is learning how to scam or learning how to be scammed.

People, kindly answer these questions:
1.) Have you seen a company employ a foreigner WITHOUT concrete travel plans and accomodation plans?

2.) Have you seen a situation where someone gets a job, is given reference letter, offer letter and has even seen how much he is gonna be earning but is still required to travel to the company giving the offer for an interview? Wait o, does interview come before or after offer? undecided

3.) Lastly, what company would refer their new employees the her (the company's) travel agency and ask the new employees to cater for their expenses?

OP, no company name, the story is too light and even my unborn children can decipher that this is a lie. I feel you are seeking attention.

Nobody should take this to front page as doing so would propagate more scams.
Ishilove, Lalasticlala et al. Kindly take note.
I appreciate your opinion bro. Firstly, I didn't say that I was given an offer letter. I was just given job specs which bears the salary range on offer as well as other packages for successful applicants. The company's policy is that they will refund every of the applicant's travel expenses, hotel reservations etc, on arrival. That is understandable given the fact that they didn't want to waste money and process travel requirements of applicants and then, some applicants will fail to turn up.

And please, there's nothing to gain seeking attention. 'Seeking attention go give me money'? Thanks all the same
Jobs/VacanciesHe's Invited For An Interview In The UK But Lack Funds To Process Travel Needs by Samakus(op): 1:24pm On Nov 17, 2015
Hello Nairalanders,

I will start by admitting that this may not be the right room to post this (I initially thought of posting it in the career section) but the Mods can as well help me move it to the right section. I will try to keep this narrative short and circumspect.

As an underemployed graduate with great ambition fuelled by the knowledge that there are so many people depending on, and indeed looking up to me, I have never stopped applying for a better employment. Recently, I took my job search to LinkedIn, applying for trainee programmes of foreign companies. Alas! It worked as I recently got invited by a UK-based Project company for an interview in early December, 2015. The invite came with job 'specs', letter of invitation and travel requirements, all as attachments, which I have downloaded. The figures in the job specs is just too mouth watering to be true - over NGN 900,000 per month, plus other super incentives and bonuses. I virtually fainted when I saw the figures and what the company can offer to their employees.

The problem now is that the company expects every invited applicant to process his travel documents through the company's affiliate travel agency. I have been able to contact the travel agency and their processing fee is £2000 asides the fees that will be charged for hotel reservation, transfer within UK and flight tickets. Tentatively, the total amount required to make this travel happen is within the range of NGN800000-1M. The inviting company will reimburse every invited applicant on arrival, all he/she spent in making the visit happen. Raising this money now is the biggest difficulty I can think of facing in over 20 years of my life. Initially, I suspected that the company may be a scam but further research and enquiries about the company has made me to allay those fears I had. I even went further to link up my relation in Europe with the company, just to be sure that I am not falling into the hands scammers or worse still, ISIS (you never can tell). My relation who has also contacted them, has no doubt that the company is real.

My worry now is that this opportunity will pass me by as I don't have money to process the documents required neither do I have any tangible hope that I can source for the funds. Please my folks, I need your advice. How do I go about this? Do I get a loan from the bank to fund this travel bearing in mind that this is only but an interview? Am just so confused and restless! I need sincere suggestions. I will also endure your insults if you choose to tow that line.

Mods please help me get this to the FrontPage. Thank you all

Nairaland GeneralAddress By Radio Biafra Director & IPOB Leader At World Igbo Congress 2015 by Samakus(op): 4:43pm On Sep 07, 2015
Address by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the
Plenary Session of World Igbo Congress (WIC) in Los Angeles--California, on September
5th, 2015.

With great humility and submission to the will of the Most High Chukwu Okike Abhiama puru ime ihe nile, I stand before you today here in Los Angeles California, in the presence of the children of light, the custodians of our traditions in faraway lands, the bringers of hope and savior of the Black race the World Igbo Congress. I acknowledge the presence of each and every one of you,
especially the members of the high table, distinguished ladies and gentlemen here
gathered and those listening around the world. I say “ndewo nu umu Chineke” to
all of you.
It is my guess that the question on the lips of every delegate here today is perhaps
‘what is Nnamdi Kanu doing here at the congress of all Igbos worldwide talking
about the global effort to restore Biafra’?. My answer as always is a very simple
one, ‘izu ka nma na nne ji’. There will be no Biafra without the support of World
Igbo Congress in particular and the Igbos in the USA in general.
Every right-thinking human being knows that the slogan “One Nigeria” is a ruse.
Nigeria was not a united country and will NEVER be a united country even in
the foreseeable future. To refresh our memories, Nigeria is a country made up of
three distinct nations with mutually exclusive and diametrically opposed and
irreconcilable value systems. Among these nations, BIAFRA is the only one with
a distinct and internationally accepted Republican value system predicated upon
the twin philosophy of (1) “Egbe bere ugo bere” the principle of natural justice,
fairness, equity and equality before the spiritual and temporal laws and (2)
“Eziokwu bu ndu” which is the weaving of the irreducibility of truth into the day
to day discourse of life, in essence a life of nobility predicated on honesty.
Futhermore and ingrained in the DNA of every Biafran, is the axiomatic
expression that “Chi bu Eze” or God is King. Regrettably, the British colonial
masters forcefully merged BIAFRA with the other two nations of AREWA and
ODUDUWA to form what is known today as Nigeria. Implicit in our value
system and its incompatibility with those from other merged nations lies the need
for the immediate extrication and restoration of the nation of Biafra from the
country called Nigeria to represent as it was ordained a pinnacle of hope for the
black race the world over. That Nigeria is perpetually in the doldrums politically,
economically, and socially is of no surprise to any discerning mind and keen
followers of the miserable history of Nigeria. After all, is it not why today we
found ourselves in far flung lands like the USA and many more countries around
the world? The frustrating part of this history is the fact that Biafrans have been
at the receiving end of the sorry state of affairs in Nigeria even though they
possess the manpower and resources to sustain themselves and flourish as an
independent nation.
Biafrans are known for their industrious and enterprising lifestyle propelled by
sheer hard work and the “can do” spirit. Biafrans don’t run away from history,
rather they make history. Biafrans are adventurous and are not afraid to venture
into the unknown. But the same cannot be said of other merged nations in the
country called Nigeria. Biafrans have been held down and their development
arrested by virtue of merging them with other nations to form Nigeria.
One of the questions going through the minds of many could be; but who are
actually the Biafrans or put in another way; what is the footprint of Biafraland?
Biafraland consists of the states in the present South East and South-South with
the exception of Edo state but including Igbanke in Edo state. Biafraland also
include Igala in Kogi state and Idoma land in Benue state. In all these areas we
have the traditional four-market days and their women tie two-piece wrappers
and have names and words that are interchangeable irrespective of the state.
For over 100 years Biafrans have endured the unholy marriage called
amalgamation and creation of Nigeria by the British colonial masters. Biafrans at
home and in the diaspora can no longer endure the subjugation of Biafra under
Nigeria. As in most revolutions and emancipation struggles, patriotic citizens in
diaspora are always in the lead for collective objective of achieving nationhood.
A very good example is the case of the State of Israel in which the Jews in
America funded and supported the independence of the nation of Israel. We share
a common ancestry with our Jewish brothers and should follow similar strategy
in achieving the nation of Biafra. In this regard, WIC is expected to play a critical
role in the quest for the restoration of the nation of BIAFRA.
As some of you may have known, there is an ongoing effort to galvanize
Biafrans globally to work together to achieve the collective objective of
restoration of the nation of Biafra. This effort is spearheaded by the Indigenous
People of Biafra (IPOB) with Radio Biafra London (RBL) as the media arm. The
operational headquarters of IPOB is in Vitoria-Spain, outside of Nigeria for
obvious reasons. IPOB is registered and recognized by various countries all over
the world. Coincidentally, the USA headquarters of IPOB is here in Los
Angeles—California. But what has IPOB/RBL achieved, you may ask?
Through the works of IPOB/RBL within the past three years, we have achieved
the following:
- Radio Biafra is today the only African institution in the history of the world
to be ranked No.1 in an independent survey against other (media)
organizations from around the world. That Radio Biafra is today more
popular than BBC Radio is clear testimony to what we can accomplish as a
race when we put our minds to it.
- Designation of Boko Haram as F.T.O. (Foreign Terrorist Organization) by
the Department of States of the USA. We have the proof to make this
claim.
- IPOB gained recognition as national liberation movement in over 88
countries where we are registered and carry out our meetings and rallies
unhindered.
- Initiated and continued annual 30th of May Biafra Heroes Remembrance
Day. The 2015 edition at Aba recorded over 3 million attendees without a
single adverse incident recorded.
- Forced the Nigerian Government to halt the continuous aerial bombardment
of Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom under the guise of fighting kidnappers’
havens. We alerted the world that Nigeria used the banned NAPALM
bombs on Biafrans for three consecutive days of June 17th—19th.
- We have raised the consciousness of our people on the Rights and the
legality of their quest for their nation of Biafra based on the UNDRIP
which Nigeria is a signatory to.
- Debunked and dismantled all the lies and innuendoes dished out by Yoruba
and Northern media concerning Biafrans, which in some cases are geared
towards dividing the various sections/areas of Biafraland.
- We have formed an effective opposition to the tyrannical rule of the current
president of Nigeria and checkmated him in trying to take Biafrans for a
ride.
- Nigerian Police now know that you can no longer kill a Biafran and get
away with it. Through the activities of IPOB in Igweocha (Port Harcourt)
the officer responsible for the shooting of an unarmed bus driver has been
dismissed from the Nigerian Police pending trial. You will agree with me
that this has never happened before.
- Through our work/efforts, we got Microsoft to recognize the word Biafra.
- We have brought Biafra restoration into global discourse such that media
juggernauts such as CNN, BBC, VOA, RFI, etc., who hitherto stayed away
from discussing Biafra are now forced to talk about Biafra.
- We are also registered with the ECOSOC department of United Nations as
INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA, where we made it clear that no
organization is representing us but we are Biafrans and representing
ourselves.
In my humble submission, I do strongly believe that WIC can get involved and
help achieve more. The Igbo speaking Biafrans are known for their
resourcefulness and resoluteness when they make up their minds to embark on a
mission. The Igbos from all I know about them, do collectively abhor evil, they
love hard work, helped one another, and tenaciously believed that “nwanne di na
mba.”

I am using this opportunity to call upon each member of WIC to join hands with
other Biafrans and members of IPOB to work towards the restoration of our dear
nation of Biafra. You can help in diverse ways such as funding, diplomatic
connections, lobbying your congressmen and people of significant clout and
influence, and sundry activities geared toward the singular goal of achieving
sovereignty for the nation of Biafra. Your loved ones in Biafraland look up to
you because we have it in our saying that “Onuru ube nwanne agbala oso.”
BIAFRA restoration is here, all you have to do is put in your efforts and
BIAFRA will come. Like many other well-meaning Biafrans of Igbo extraction
around the world, I look forward to the day when World Igbo Congress will be
held in any of our towns and villages in Biafraland.
May Chukwu Okike Abhiama bless all of you and bless the nation of BIAFRA.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
*Address by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the
Plenary Session of World Igbo Congress (WIC) in Los Angeles--California, on September
5th, 2015.

Op, with due respect, ur kind is the reason girls behave the way they do to many guys. U made attempt to see her the first time and she rebuffed u angering u in the process. Instead of u to lock up and pursue other 'better' alternatives,u went back to chase her again after abt 6months. Are u a learner?
See, I av come to realize dat wen coming after a girl, u av basically notin 2 lose while she has everytin 2 lose if u knw ur worth(dats if d person is worth anything). She cnt woo a guy, she stands 2 lose money, gifts, sex and marriage.
So, dnt allow any girl take u for a ride. No girl is worth doing dat 2 u. Its working for me n I knw, it can wrk 4 u too. Imagine hw d girl would av been kickn herself if u ignored her after that 6months.

Jobs/VacanciesWhat You Need to Know About GNLD/Multi Level Marketers Posing as Employers by Samakus(op): 3:36pm On Jul 29, 2015
Everyday, thousands (if not millions) of jobseekers fall into the hands of persons and 'companies' who post job vacancies that are not only fake but are meant to scam and defraud the unsuspecting job seeker. They come in multiple shades and forms but their ultimate goal remains to scam you into paying a registration fee to join a Multi level marketing franchise and pay for an initial supply of goods (mostly supplements and vitamin products).

So in most cases with these people jobseekers set out to attend a supposed job interview only to fall into a seminar trap where the brainwashing (aka Marketing) starts.

The Modus Operandi

While some of them may not be outright fraudsters (who take your money and disappear) they are still fraudulent in that they do not tell you the whole story until you are in. They may claim they want you to work as business development executives, client service officers, sales rep etc when in actuality they want you to join their downline in any of the various multilevel marketing schemes they operate (with a registration fee of course).

Another approach is to claim they will have to train you for a period of time to enable them transfer the skills you need to function as a sales/business development person. The snag here is that the trainng comes with various costs. They may charge anywhere between N10,000 – N30,000 for the training. It may be only after paying that you realise you are actually going to be part of a multilevel marketing scheme and will be required to purchase their first batch of supplements .

Multilevel marketing, on its own, is not a bad thing either. It is just the approach these guys use to falsely lure unsuspecting jobseekers into something they are quite not looking for and in the process fleecing them of their money.

The Chief Culprits

These people change names almost on a daily basis. Sometimes to keep track of each new metamorphosis, some job posting sites like ngcareers.com has created a blacklist page where career individuals can go to check for names of organisations whom they have found to be dubious in that ways.

How to Detect Them

Some of these organisations may put out what look like perfect job ads and are continously improving on their ability to deceive unsuspecting applicants. Still, there are basic things to look out for to enable you detect these fake organisations;

– When they ask for you to pay to take a test; Most likely they are scammers
– They ask you to pay registration fees or to attend a seminar: This is usually where you know an MLM outfit parading as a hiring organisation
– They refer you to someone to obtain something they may claim is important for your application

How Not to Fall Victim

The Golden Rule to Not Being Scammed by Dubious Job Offers remains; Never part with your money in exchange for a promise for a job. If you do not want to be deceived then be sure to observe the following;

1. Never be desperate for a Job

2. When it involves parting with your Money in Whatever Form Go Away. This way you never make a mistake of giving somebody huge sums of money only to realise they have made away with it.
