PoliticsHardship And Perceived Bad Governance: What Have You Done As A Youth To 'EPP'? by Samakus(op):
WHAT DID WE DO? 'WHO YOU EPP?
It has been a difficult year in Nigeria. Probably the worst in the lives of many.
To prepare a decent meal costs a fortune. To move from one place to the another dries up bank accounts. Very few goes to the market for leisure. It now takes a great deal of thought to choose a designer clothing over the 'China' made. So, the seller is crying. The buyer is sobbing.

How many lovers of 'German' mango ate it to their satisfaction this year? In my area, they said that dollar is high, and so no mangoes. That was so ridiculous to believe. But it was a reality. There was no enough mango to eat.
Only this year, pot-bellied Nigerian politicians joined the masses to say there is no money. Do you know what it means? For a typical Nigerian politician to accept that things are hard, then it really means that things are hard. I'm sure they lost a good number of followership. 'Ndi oti mkpu'
My generating set had peace in the first quarter of this year. Not that I chose to pity the old thing, nor that power supply improved. No. There was just no money to buy fuel. I'm sure that many of my Non-Nigerian friends will be wondering what this means. It means that if you don't have have a generating set in your household, school, church, bank, etc, then you're not ready for survival.
And so I resorted to candles for studies; an act I quitted some years ago, after together with garri without milk, I now have four eyes.

All thanks to my government. Now, they said I should eat a lot of carrots so as to restore my sight. Do you know how many sticks of carrots 200 Naira (a little above $1) can buy? Very few pieces! That is why I am waiting on God to tell me 'My son, throw away those glasses and be free'.
I was thinking I would have an easy ride in Post Graduate studies. After all, I will be in a class filled with older people who must have lost touch with academics and then I will be like the champion. Boooooom! It seems I am the oldest here. I beg them to come down to my level while learning. Their brains are so hot. But do you know why? There is no job, and the classrooms became a refuge for young graduates.
Some actually stayed back in their villages aiming to make a living by tilling the soil. They cannot even do that. There is fulani herdsmen crisis.

No place is actually safe at this time. Companies are laying off workers. The retained ones are underemployed. Others are running away to Europe, believing life will be better over there. The business men are curing idleness with ground nuts and English Premier League.
When a pot-bellied Nigerian politician says there is no money, my dear, there is trouble.
A lot of arguments are ongoing now. Some says the removal of the fuel subsidy is the best. Other says that PMB has the key, and so we should wait.
Of course we have to wait. But we have the power to decide his fate.

Start thinking of constructive ways you can use the social media. It not just meant for chats. Let the demand for good governace trend. Give less attention to issues that will not better our lives in ten years times. I heard that Kylie Jenner and Tyga has broken up. To what extent does it add food to my table. And so i care less.
Social media to a great extent, voted in PMB. Be ready to get him out if our lives doesn't change in the next three years.
We can say Yes or No.
Remember, it is not just about PMB. It is also about your Governor, Lawmakers, Local Government Chairman.
They receive money from the top. Get them responsible! Find their phone numbers. Call them, and tell them that the young people are out there watching.
With the power of the new media, we can do it.
We are young. We are knowledgeable. We are forceful. That distinguished us.
Do not forget, keep your head straight in whatever you are doing. As far as it is right, continue. Stories are meant to be told. Just be ready for action.
Say No to depression.
Say No to Suicide.

Meanwhile, it is 48 hours to my examination. I cannot wait to be done with these hot heads and jump into a P. hD class, where I hope to become the last born, and probably, a village champion.

From Nsukka, Dééjé nù.

Introducing, the next literary colossus after Achebe! I see him becoming even better than Achebe. Admittedly, his genre of writing is quite identical to Achebe's. He's also a great story teller like Achebe.

No disrespect, but can't you just keep your hate for your life and ignorance about your maker and the Supreme ruler of the earth aside for once.
Leicester didn't play the most fantastic games of the season, but they have the trophy. I tell you dear, it can only be a God factor.

Where does God fit in football? The fact is what happened was an anomaly, even the guys themselves don't expect a repeat next season. BT I believe they can build on this and make a name for themselves. So stop saying God this, God that. Only you control your destiny.
What do you think about Leicester City players' fitness level all season long? Whereas other teams had key players out injured, Leicester had a fully fit first team all season long. Considering that Leicester ran a budget comparably lower than other BPL top-four teams, it will be apt to say that their medical team assembled with that low budget won't be better than other top-four teams' medical team. So, how do you explain their lack of injuries? Are their players made of steel? Ponder on that.

Believe it or not, luck plays a big part in every of our life dealings. And what is luck? Who brings it?

_________________________________________________________

And so the fairytale meteoric rise of Leicester City FC in the English game finally and fittingly reached a glorious crescendo. Leicester are the new BPL champions! The players and coaches' names forever etched in Leicester City's folklore. What a story! What a history made! The city of Leicestershire has been added to the comity of English cities to witness the BPL trophy parade. Just quite amazing!

As we eulogize Leicester's remarkable and history making BPL success, it's important to reflect on the lessons that can and indeed, should be learned from this mega footballing story of 2016.

1. HARDWORK AND DETERMINATION PAYS:
Leicester City achieved this remarkable feat not by jugging around the pitch. Over the course of the campaign, players and the coaching staff put in a remarkable amount of hardwork and determination. Their never-say-die attitude is epitomized by Jamie Vardy, Ngolo Kante, Danny Drinkwater, Wes Morgan, to call but a few. Even in the face of popular pessimism about their ability to win BPL, the players remained undeterred, determined and positive, marrying hardwork with belief. That has paid off.

2. BE ORIGINAL AND CREATIVE:
Following Barcelona and Spain's successes in football, gained through paying huge attention to possession-based football, the footballing world set about copying the Barcelona model. Not Leicester! Instead, Ranieri developed his own model of ceding possession to the opponent while exploiting the opponent's flaws through a quick counter attacking play. It worked like magic and today, Leicester is on everyone's lips. Be original! Be creative! You must not go with the crowd to make it.

3. WORK UNDER THE RADAR, LET YOUR SUCCESSES DO THE TALKING:
While Arsene Wenger talked about Arsenal mental strength, Mourinho having a subtle fight with his players, Man.City flirting with the issue of having Pep Guardiola as coach, Leicester were quietly doing the job required of champions. Succinctly put, Leicester did their talking where it mattered - on the pitch and they now have their trophy taking for them. Work hard silently, let your successes talk for you.

4. BELIEVE YOU CAN MAKE IT EVEN WHEN OTHERS DOUBT YOU:
Leicester may have targeted survival over the BPL title at the beginning of the season but immediately they saw that they can win the title, they never stopped believing! The consensus among the footballing world, even as at February 2016, was that Leicester will falter along the way. Instead of allowing that popular doubt to derail their ambition, it spurred them on. When others doubt your ability to make it, believe in yourself and work towards proving your doubters wrong. He that believes, receives!

5. GOD-FACTOR (LUCK) IS EVERYTHING:
While Leicester worked hard, they were also lucky with injuries. While Man.City, Man. United, Arsenal, Liverpool and even Chelsea had key men injured over the course of the campaign, Leicester were extraordinarily lucky with injuries. Would Leicester have won the BPL without having the luxury of selecting Jamie Vardy, Ngolo Kante, Wes Morgan and Riyad Mahrez week-in week-out? The obvious answer is No! Definitely, Leicester players were not the only players in BPL working hard, but they were the ones whose calls were divinely answered.
Work hard but remember that the battle is not of the swift and the strong. It's not of he that willeth or of he that runneth but of God that showeth mercy. Put God first!

Robert Mugabe may mean so many things to many people - a dictator, sit-tight President, old dullard and even a devil; but there's no doubting the fact that he's blessed with wisdom. Most of his outbursts, mostly targeted against interference in African politics by Western powers, have largely been laden with pure natural wisdom.

Here is a collection of his wise sayings in pictures. Enjoy
