complete1: Good morin ladies ....ok and guys well a correspondent at d news desk of our's spoke to d NLC leader on a phone chat yesterday,here's jst a summary of d conversation n d part most useful to us.he said d country is going tru a hard face dat will lead to d reduction of corruption(like we care),wen asked abt d threat by FG to ASUU he said dat der might b no need for a mass sacking of lecturers because d strike MIGHT b called off soon(we've heard dat lk a million times),he is lk a mediator in d ongoing process between fg and ASUU,saying dat d way tins are goin rite now will yield a welcome news,he also said dat d ASUU chairman has nt since d last meeting met wit d president,he also said d president cant keep attending in person to each union pointing out dat is shameful to d NFF board dat d president now has to b d one allocating fund to coaches,if only his workers can see how hard he's trying to make d country a better place and stand up to d challange.well our main concern is dat d strike might b called off to prevent further difficult issues

Only a fool will not know the important of attorney general of the federation when it comes to agreement or awarding of contract. If FG is sincere they should ask the Attorney general of federation to sign the MOU with ASUU, what is the big deal about the signing if they are sincere

Technology Owerri Sacks Entire Teaching
Staff The Senate of the Federal University of
Technology Owerri (FUTO) has sacked all
academic staff on its payroll with immediate
effect on December 2, 2013, Monday, for
failure to return to classrooms. This has been confirmed by Mr. Chike Ezenwa, the
Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the institution, in a
telephone conversation with the Nigerian Tribune in
Owerri. According to him, the senate of the university had
declared all the positions of academic staff in the
institution, adding that they would be advertised
starting from December 2, 2013, Monday. The PRO further explained that the senate council had
already compiled the list of vacant positions in the
school, adding that who were willing to resume would
be adequately protected. As concerns resuming the teaching process, the
following press release was issued at FUTO: The Senate of the Federal University of Technology,
Owerri at its 375th Extraordinary meeting held on
Monday, December 2, 2013 considered the directive
of the Federal Government on resumption of duty
by Academic Staff in Federal Universities and decided
that academic activities in the University should resume immediately for the conclusion of the
2012/2013 Rain Semester. Consequently all students of the University are
required to return to campus between Monday
December 2, and Friday December 8, 2013 while Rain
Semester Examinations commence on Monday
December 9, 2013 and end on Saturday December
21, 2013. Accordingly, all academic staff are required to
proceed immediately to their respective
Departments to sign in for resumption of duty not
later than Wednesday December 4, 2013. Signed: Orje Ishegh-Nor Registrar/Secretary to the Senate However, the FUTO branch of ASUU said any attempt
to break their ranks would be strongly resisted by
their members. The Monday’s communiqué urged
members to ignore the resumption notice by FUTO
management, adding that the branch would not
engage in any academic activities until the Federal Government committed itself to implementing the

sapien: What are you protesting? You want to gather a dysfunctional, vitually non-existent Uniport SUG to protest reduction of the 'astronomical' school fees? @Debbylily, Is 77,000NGN expensive? Go to Lasu, Eksu, Ebsu, OOU and some other state Universities and check out the tuition the students are paying on yearly basis! You guys should be thankful that University education has been highly subsidized by the federal government, else you guys would be paying through your noses for higher education. How much are you gonna pay in your subsequent years? Less than 30k and you peeps are complaining? I paid 27k in my sophomore and I actually think it's relatively cheap compared to what some of my friends pay in private and state Universities. If you think education is expensive, try ignorance!
