Truth! Amotekun shouldn't tolerate violence. They're meant to protect our region against external forces. and by the way, Yoruba language should be guilded, some ignorant people are writing Ponmo as Kpomo, Pele as Kpele, Patapata as kpatakpata, whereas two consonants don't meet in Yoruba language. I think Yoruba language should be made a compulsory subject in Jamb (just like English) as a mode of admission into southwest university. else, IFA religion should be a compulsory course just like GNS in the universities and polytechnics. Maybe IFA 101 |

Amotolongbo: MKO winning election and subsequent annulment and “death” isn’t an analogy syncing with your claim.
Elections were rig, but if truly Ojukwu Odumegwu won the election in Alaigbo and the election was rigged against him, we all know what the reaction of his people should be.
Not even the gubernatorial, senatorial and presidential election he contested for! Haba! Even if we assume, the election was rigged. Why was his wife not allowed to contest in Anambra. His wife even lost senate election in Enugwu. When Ojokwu died, there was even internal crisis over the assets handed over to his wife. It's clearly, Ojokwu wasn't loved, maybe because of the Civil War. |

Wiseandtrue: He might try but might not win except he has the same ideology as his father
Igbos like selfless people which might be lacking in his kids
It seems they all went in to enjoy the wealth and fame of their father!!!
My thoughts though Under normal circumstances, if Anambra people really like the man, his son should win elections. Ojokwu didn't even win a single South East state when he contest. It's really disheartening by the way. Modified. Even Ojokwu wife was sent away self, I think she was denied contesting in Anambra. |

We really need to look into mass migration of some people into our lands. They now run baby factories and human trafficking syndicates in SW. Soon they'll influence naive Yorubas into joining their illicit business and end up destroying our morals and value, stealing and selling descendants of Odua for money, rituals and organ harvesting. People who love money over life are not welcomed in our midst. Yoruba ronu! Truth, We needs to sterilize our region |
Politics › Re: Obasanjo: Why I Refused Gani Adam's Request To Visit Me by Sammy07: 8:44am On Dec 03, 2020 |
ekestic1976: My brother, let me tell you just one thing: At no time in History did Oyo empire have suzerainty over all of Yorubaland. . . It's the European missionaries who gave the name "Yoruba" to describe the peoples now inhabiting the space mainly called Western Nigeria and abutting territories in Benin Republic, etc. Before then, each Yoruba group was known by its name of Egba, Ijesa, Ekiti, Ijebu, etc. (Check the Admission List of CMS Grammar School, Lagos 1921 for details). The prominence given to Alaafin of Oyo was begun by the succeeding colonial administrators. In this regard, I should want you to read Professor J. A. Atanda's "The New Oyo Empire, etc." So if the Alaafin should coronate anyone as being over all of "Yorubaland", such a person is more of the area covered by the defunct Oyo empire only. You may not know it and it appears by your abusive comment that you didn't; I'm Yoruba t'ara t'okan. 1. I didn't claim Oyo empire reigns all Yorubaland. 2. I didn't claim that each Yoruba group didn't have their names. 3. It's not the Europeans that gave us the name Yoruba. Now let me clear your two claims. 1a. In 1800s, 1700s, Whenever a town was able to win war against her fellow town, that town will automatically be paying tribute, thereby making them under the leadership of the former. 1b. Hope you know that over 30% of all yoruba lands speaks Oyo dialect? And why go you think they adopted Oyo dialect as a centralized Yoruba? 2. Each Yoruba group has her names, I didn't refute that, we have Owo, ekiti, ondo, ikale, Oyo, igbomina, ijebu, Egba, egun, Ijesha, Okun, ibolo, etc. 3. It isn't Europeans that gave us the tag Yoruba, it's the Hausa traders that gave the Oyo people the yoruba tag, in fact it took some yoruba groups of Ijebu, Ondo, ekiti, sometime to accept the "Yoruba tag" 4. There are some posts being appointed by Alaafin and Ooni of ife. That posts once being appointed, the person will automatically be recognized In all yoruba land. |

ekestic1976: God bless you, President Obasanjo. This is called Wisdom of the Elders. Long live, sir. No one knows Gani Adams as a title holder in Ijesa, Ekiti, all of Ondo State, Ogun state, Osun state and Igbomina Yorubaland. His chieftaincy is relevant only in Oyo town. We know his ANTECEDENTS! you don't know what you're saying. I'm sure you are not yoruba, if you are then you have work to do on culture, history and influence. Just like saying no one knows Sango in Osun, ogun, Ondo, ekiti, because he only ruled in Oyo. Have you heard of OPC before? |

Is it worth considering; let's share our thoughts. Well he's a technocrat. but the problem is, it's not the presidency but the system. There is nothing bad having him as the president, but the problem is the system. If he gets there, he'll concentrate all the projects also in his region and appointments for his region (At least that's the legacy of Nigeria). Reason why Every region is tryjng to get the presidency. |
