Politics / Re: Today Is The 79th Birthday Of Yakubu Gowon. What Do You Remember Him Of ? by sammyzacks(m): 4:20pm On Oct 19, 2013
So, the level of highway construction during Gowon’s administration has never been matched by any other regime in this country. If you like or you have the fact, you can contradict me. I found two North-South roads Lagos, Ibadan, Ilorin, Jebba, Kaduna, Zaria. Then, Port Harcourt, Makurdi, Jos and all of that.
All these were under Gen. Gowon. Warri, Benin, Auchi, Kotorn Karfi to Abuja. Calabar-Yola-Maiduguri. Gowon’s idea was to have one from Badagry down to Sokoto, which unfortunately, could not be actualised. We planned Lagos to Warri to Sokoto but unfortunately it is still on paper. When I left the ministry in December 1974, most of these roads we took over from the states with their consent, were either completed, going-on or soon to start. That was most of the major projects. That was where most of the money was spent. It was cheap to say the problem of Nigeria was not money but how to spend it. If he actually said that, am not sure he really meant it.
Most of this money was spent on roads. And I’m sure other ministries also carried out their own projects. Only this morning I was going through the list of achievements Gowon administration recorded, which I believe till today have not been surpassed by any other government.
I challenge Obasanjo to tell me five concrete achievements, which Nigerians can remember him for during his time as Head of state 1976 to 1979 or as President 1999 till 2007. He succeeded me as minister of works for about six months before the coup, albeit he had been in government before then.
Is it Babangida you want to talk about? I am talking about concrete things people can remember. The Universal Primary Education was Gowon’s idea. I was there with him in January 1974, I just returned as Amir Hajj when I was asked to join the tour of Sokoto. Race Course Sokoto that was where Gowon declared the policy of free primary education and I was in his cabinet till December. I was in the committee. Later successive administrations only took it from where he stopped. Gowon alongside Enyadema of Togo established ECOWAS.

Religion / Re: Pls I Need A True Bornagain Christian To Tell Me What Lev:19:19b Means by sammyzacks(m): 8:58pm On Oct 18, 2013
highyo:

lev:19:19 do not wear a cloth made with different kind of materials

also lev19:27 do not trim the edge of your hair or your beard

these verses are shadows of things that were to come, and have come with the appearance of Jesus Christ.
God was trying to teach his people sanctification and purity without mingling with the world's system. He was saying: do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.Since the real purpose has been revealed, the shadow has to go. Jesus has fulfilled it.
dont go about leaving your beards untrimmed, and dont insist that your cloth be made from a single material. What you should do is to sanctify yourself to God, say no to sin and do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
Religion / Re: Should Pastors/ministries Sell Their Books And Messages? by sammyzacks(m): 7:13pm On Oct 18, 2013
very interesting topic I must say. Recently I have been thinking about the issue of men of God extorting money from their sheep in diverse guises. Pastors are not CEO's of business ventures. The church is not a biz venture. The desire to be a pastor should not be borne out of material gains.

The gospel should be free. Word of God in whatever format should be free.
Woe to anyone that sells the word in whatever format.

Pastor should rely on free will offerings of christians to support the ministry, not by trading the word for profit.

this scripture accurately describes them:

But there also arose false prophets among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned. In covetousness they will exploit you [KJV- make merchandise of you] with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old doesn't linger, and their destruction will not slumber. 2 Peter 2:1-3 WEB

Politics / LATEST NEWSJOBS National Conference Will Set North Against South – Shehu Sani by sammyzacks(m): 11:13am On Oct 16, 2013
He is also of the view that the conference is likely to generate “war of words” that will only overheat the polity without addressing the problems of the country.

In a press statement yesterday, Sani described the proposed dialogue as a blackmail and a mischievous political chess game meant to hang the fate of the nation on the continuity of the Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.

The CRC President added that the ‘Goodluck Conference’ will deliver nothing but reports that will neither see the light of the day nor that of the night.

“It’s self deception for anyone to believe that this government will embrace and implement critical views of Nigerians from its conference when the same government has found it difficult to tolerate dissenting opinion from within it’s party and consistently behaved belligerent to the demands of Our university teachers and resident Doctors.”

The activist noted that those who will take the pain to write and submit their volumes of memoranda to the conference will find their memoranda in the belly of termites and bugs or with Akara sellers in Lugbe (a suburb of Abuja).

According to him, it is technically impossible to organise a meaningful and orderly conference at a time when the President and members of the National Assembly and at the same time states governors are out on re-election campaigns next year.

“President Goodluck Jonathan’s government is a bourgeoisie government with a philosophical base, rooted in the preservation of the iniquitous socio economic system and the sustenance of the existing capitalist master-servant relationship,” he said.

First of all , elrufai as a muslim is not qualified to appraise a christian leader.Allow christians to Judge that by themselves.
Secondly an insult in the president of CAN is an insult on the Christendom in Nigeria.
Thirdly, you have insulted Jesus before, now indirectly insulting Nigerian Christains. The question now is: elrufai why do you have so much towards Christains?
I can bet you the only reason you hate GEJ with a passion js bacause he is a Christian.

Politics / Boko Haram Kills 15 In Borno. by sammyzacks(m): 10:17pm On Sep 05, 2013
Men suspected to be members of Boko Haram storm town of Gajiran in Borno state, killing at least 15, residents say.
Gunmen suspected to be members of the armed Boko Haram group have stormed the northeast Nigerian town of Gajiran, opening fire in a market and killing 15 people, the AFP news agency reported.

Borno state in the northeast, where the latest violence occurred, is a Boko Haram stronghold and has seen a spate of similar attacks on locals in recent weeks.

Residents of Gajiran, speaking to journalists in the state capital Maiduguri, said the gunmen involved in Thursday's attack pretended to be traders attending a local market.

"Some of them came aboard trucks while others came on foot to beat the security checks at the entrance of the town," resident Ibrahim Bulama said.

They then "blended among traders conducting business", before opening fire in the market, killing 15 people, he told reporters.

They also set fire to a local government building and a police post, he said.

Aisami Yusuf, another local speaking to journalists in Maiduguri, also put the death toll at 15 and provided a similar account.

Gajiran is roughly 85km from the state capital

I opened his pouch and saw his wallet which had his licence. Took a picture of
the wallet and the Licence on
the pillow on the bed with
my head in the shot. I
opened the door and took
several pictures of myself,
the wallet and the Licence
with the room number. Came
back in, once I heard the
shower stop, I started audio
recording on my BB. He
came out with a towel
around his waist and started
telling me how attracted he
was to me. He said many
derogatory things about his
wife, calling her a postcard…
pretty on the outside but flat
and empty upstairs. He said
sex with her was like having
sex with a cold dead fish…he
tried to kiss me and I stood
up, picked up my travelling
bag, moved to the door,
opened it and quickly took a
picture of him, standing with
a towel around him. He
started begging. I called him
all sorts of names and
insisted he give me money
for a separate room or I
would scream ’rape’. To cut a
long story short, he asked
me to shut the door, I
refused, he brought out 2
bundles of N1000 and asked
me to delete before he gives
me the money. I told him he
was in no position to
negotiate. Got the money,
left the Randy goat with a
deflated erection and
checked into another room.
and you were a child of God, a church worker? how did you get the mind to do all that as a Christian with a pure heart.or were you sent by Satan to destroy the poor man of God?

Religion / Ese Walter Deletes Facebook, Twitter Accounts by sammyzacks(m): 10:35am On Aug 24, 2013
Following comments on her blog post which has gone viral, Ese Walter has deleted her Facebook profile. Her twitter account has also been closed, and sources close to her say she has “broken her public sim”.
Ese Walter has come out to confess an ‘abuse’ by a man of God whom she said payed the “touch not my anointed card” on her why she indulged in the illicit affair they had.
As much as efforts are on to hear the pastor’s side of the story, the lady’s story has been followed by many comments mostly criticising the pastor for his alleged actions.
Although no comments yet from the church of the accused man of God, several other commenters, while condemning the pastor’s actions if it were true, blamed the girl for the role she played.
A commenter on INFORMATION NIGERIA with the name George said “I’ve seen and heard Pastors who do worse than this. But personally, I don’t believe her. To me her story sounds lame and fictitious. If she made it all up, she should fabricate and come up with something much more interesting.”

To Gail, “She’s rebellious!” Gail continued, “Why did you allow him to have fun with you and after feel guilty as if he defiled you? You sound as if he dumped u! I’m not siding him but your story is not the real content of the drama! You need to be psychoanalised!”
While some commended her for her bravery at coming out to speak about her experience, others condemned her, saying she was looking for cheap publicity.
Harsh words might have reopened her wounds, if there were any, and the backlash on social media may be too much for her to bear, prompting her to delete her Facebook and Twitter accounts.
As the truth unfolds, fingers are crossed and people are earnestly waiting to hear the pastor’s side of the story.
