My major concern in this matter is the choice of kagoro in southern kaduna for this rally.southern kaduna is managing maintain peace with all the boko haram and fulani herdsmen attacks in the north. The last thing they want is a gathering that will attract boko sympathisers to their land to cause confusion in the guise of political rally.

Politics / Re: Northern Elders Are The Faces Behind Boko Haram by sammyzacks(m): 2:42pm On May 20, 2013
Lets do the maths:
For boka haram to operate they need logistics such as ammunition, vehicles, communucation gadgets, training, food supplies to its personnel.
Logistics=money
The money involved here is million and even billions of naira.
The also need clearance from customs immigration and the police to be able to smuggle and distribute their equipment and materials.
This mean political/government influence.

Drawings our conclusion, we can see clearly that for boko haram to operate they need money and political/ government influence.
The only people that have those are the guys you would call northern elders.
Its as simple as that.

Politics / APC Confused On State Of Emergency by sammyzacks(m): 10:16pm On May 17, 2013
It was a gale of confusion in the ranks of the so called All Progressive Congress (APC) reminiscent of the name fiasco when the group went public with their name only to find out that the name had already been taken by at least two other groups before them.

This time around, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) have each given separate and contradictory reactions to the State of Emergency declared by President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday the 14th of May 2013.

While the ACN condemned the President and asked the National Assembly not to ratify the declaration, the CPC speaking through its National Publicity Secretary, Rotimi Fashakin, at first commended the President only for Buba Galadima, the party's National Secretary to make a volte face the next day and issue a condemnation. To crown the confusion, the ANPP has within the hour commended the move. Yet the three parties claim to be merging as one with two of them holding winding up conventions.

The ACN National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed issued the following statement two days ago “We hereby reject the declaration of emergency rule in the three states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, and we call on the National Assembly to also reject it and not allow itself to be used to rubber-stamp a declaration that is largely cosmetic,”. On the same day, Buba Galadima issued the following statement “The insecurity was not caused by the so-called Boko Haram, but by the government who were killing people to make them to pick arms against government. This is my standard as somebody from Borno and Yobe. My people has been short-changed and killed arbitrarily.".

The statement by the ANPP in support of the emergency was issued by no less a personality than the party's National Chairman, Ogbonaya Onu who supported and commended the President for retaining the civilian governors instead of replacing them as his predecessors in office did.

Politics / We Shall Join Asari Dokubo - Southern Kaduna by sammyzacks(m): 10:07pm On May 14, 2013
A Northern activist of Southern Kaduna origin, John Dan Fulani, has said that if Professor Ango Abdullahi and his Northern Elders Forum (NEF) start a war with the South over 2015 they should expect that Southern Kaduna will fight against the North if they allow war break out.

Tempers have reached a feverish stage in the exchange between the Northern Elders and a former militant, Asari Dokubo, who recently released a video linking the current insecurity in the North to the threat by the Northern Elders to make Nigeria ungovernable. It would be recalled that on October 3rd 2010, a Northern elder, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, had said "the North is determined, if that happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power on the platform of the PDP against the principle of the party's zoning policy".

In response, Asari accused the Northern elders of using Boko Haram, the radical Islamic terrorist sect, of fulfilling that threat. Only yesterday, Boko Haram through one of its leaders, told the BBC that there was a plot against the North and Islam.

But John Dan Fulani speaking for Southern Kaduna people said “Professor (Ango Abdullahi) and his northern manipulators must know that, if they spark a war with the south, we shall join Asari Dokubo and his men. No Souther...n Kaduna man will waste his time fighting for lazy people that will at the end of the day call him ARNE (infidel) or think he is a second class citizen.”

NaijaPundit continues to watch the matter and will bring you the latest in the saga as it unfolds.

Politics / What Was The Aburi Accord All About? by sammyzacks(m): 10:06pm On May 02, 2013
I just got to read about the much talked about Aburi accord and It sounded as if it was all about power. How could breakdown of the accord have caused the civil war?

Aburi accord is as follows:
"Members agree that the legislative and executive authority of the Federal Military Government should remain in the Supreme Military Council, to which any decision affecting the whole country shall be referred for determination provided that where it is possible for a meeting to be held the matter requiring determination must be referred to military governors for their comment and concurrence.
Specifically, the council agreed that appointments to senior ranks in the police, diplomatic, and consular services as well as appointment to superscale posts in the federal civil service and the equivalent posts in the statutory corporation must be approved by the Supreme Military Council.
The regional members felt that all the decrees passed since January 15, 1966, and which detracted from previous powers and positions of regional governments, should be repealed if mutual confidence is to be restored.

In response to the accord, the federal government promulgated Decree No. 8, which was mainly an embodiment of the accord. The accord finally broke down because of differences of interpretation on both sides. This led to the outbreak of Nigerian Civil War.[5]

This lady is too much! She never denied the facts.she says the truth and gives hope of better days ahead.she talks presidential.I wish we can have more people like her run the affairs of government. We can only sustain what this government has started. Nigeria is too corrupt to transform in a day. I think she has a good understanding of the problem and is offering the best of solutions. Time, and more time of steady progress is what we need. If you bring other set of people by 2015, you would be taking us backwards.
