26-year-old Nigerian highest paid robotics engineer in the world

A 26-year-old Nigerian, credited for building the world’s first gaming robot, Silas Adekunle, has become the highest paid in the field of robotic engineering.
Adekunle achieved the feat after signing a new deal with the world’s reputable software manufacturers, Apple Inc.

The robotics engineer was also named as “Someone to Watch in 2018” by the Black Hedge Fund Group.

Adekunle is currently the founder and CEO of Reach Robotics, a company developing the world’s first gaming robots.

He also recently graduated with a first class degree and has four years’ background in robotics.

Born in Lagos, Adekunle studied in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom as a teenager.

After completing his secondary school education, he proceeded to the University of the West of England where he graduated with a first class degree in Robotics.

In 2013, he founded Reach Robotics and developed a lot of experience on robotics within a space of four years.

Adekunle was also a team leader of Robotics In Schools programme, a programme which encourages and pays attention to students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The programme encouraged him to develop robotics to make education more entertaining for STEM students.

In 2017 MekaMon, he released the world’s first gaming robot, with the special ability to customise the gaming bot to perform personalised functions.

The initial launch of Mekamon sold 500 bots, generating $7.5 million.

Following this feat, he received support from various organisations including London Venture Partners ($10 million) and Reach Robotics signed a deal with Apple securing exclusive sales in Apple stores.

“Impressed by the quality of his robots and their ability to show emotion with subtly-calibrated movements, Apple priced his four-legged “battle-bots” at $300 and has put them in nearly all of its stores in the United States and Britain.

Early customers skew towards male techies but a growing number of parents are buying the robots for their children to get them interested in STEM, Adekunle told Forbes in an interview this year.

Let me tell you ...if ghana opt it self out of ecowas completely I can assure you that it would regret that action...you might claim that your inflation rate is better and that you are enjoying a stable economic growth. .but deep down inside of you , you know nigeria has the capacity to change not only west africa but africa as a whole...you seem to always fault nigeria yet you are quick to forget that nigeria suffered the worst recession in 25 years...do you know that south africa has been in recession since 2013 and has barely grown up to 1.4% growth In its gdp since then ...that was why it was ranked along side nigeria on the misery index and I an sure egypt should also be in recession as well since it equally held a prominent position on that list....what do you expect from recession if not inflation, unemployment (it rose from 11%to 23.10%),poverty. ...Nigeria even seems to be recovering from recession faster that south africa, because south africa is not even destined to grow by 1.5% this year....nigeria's recession was our turning point cause it led our govt to take diversification very serious and their put in the necessary infastructure for that...have you heard of our Economic recovery growth plan (Ergp)...infact I would suffice it to say that nigeria's recession was a blessing in disguise caused it has spurned the long awaited change that we have been seeking ....US is destined to go into to recession next year so don't be too surprise if you see it hold a top position on that list next year....
So the long and short of it is that our economy is gradually changing and nigeria's progress will strengthen west africa prosperity in all manners of ramifications both from trade deal and attracting big investors to these region of africa...so if ghana is out from ecowas we will seek to work more with other countries in ecowas and don't be surprise that you might see smaller countries surpassing you guys in the nearest future. ..
As pertaining the free african trade deal, I have already explained that to you severally. ..it not as if nigeria doesn't want to sign it ...but it is because we have ambition for globally competitive manufacturing sector and that deal would only cripple that ambition because of the amount of tariff required to be taken off...so yes nigeria will never sign that deal cause it population would produce more and receive less from smaller countries which would not provide a quick return on our massive investmentioned as well as our profit...it would look as if we work for free whilst others enjoy the larger influx of assorted goods for extremely cheap amount...
