This case has just demonstrated how Nigerians now just follow the bandwagon online without using their heads. God help anyone that has a conflicting opinion with theirs. Even if that's the reasonable one, you'll be bastadized and called names.

Let's see how this ends

Sports / Re: Ronaldo Nazario Picked Greatest Ever XI, Ft Messi, Maradona, Pele & Ronaldinho by SamSara01: 9:59am On Oct 03, 2023
Blackestjunior:
Am a die hard Messi fan and a Barca fan...but Ronaldo should have been in the list, the five time ballon d or winner is arguably better than Ronaldinho

Anyone that watched Ronaldinho at his peak will know he's arguably one of the best players ever.

He is the last breed of the true Brazilian football (except for Neymar who didn't quite get there)

The years Ronaldinho won best players of the year, it was so undisputed even with a peak Thierry Henry.

C Ronaldo, is no doubt good and he scores goals, but he's not halfway a complete footballer as Ronaldinho was.

Unfortunately, football this days is evaluated based on numbers and statistics.

By the way, you can't be a Barca fan, except you've only recently become one

cool

$850,000 as severance looks sweet converted to Naira...almost 8.5 billion shocked

Not really spectacular when compared to senior executives of other companies.

More dollars to their pockets 👍

You should ask for a refund from your Maths teacher. You made a valid point though.

AMAUCHESKY:
and you didn't really verify if they were really handling it...
Your comment sir really shows that the mohbad seek for help from different places but Nigerian attitude of you must pay money before investigation which I believed you guys also charge him high that makes him feel he can handle it himself..

RIP boy

This is Nigeria

You people will just carry phone and be typing rubbish online. What will you have done better? Falana is a human right activist that adds value to the society, what have you done in your life to help the people around you?

What should Falana have done better while Mohbad was alive, he should have helped him free of charge. Is there anywhere in the world where you'll engage a SAN without paying the appropriate fees? Should Falana have been chasing them when they went elsewhere?

The guy is dead, fine, but let's be using our head before commenting

Be honest with yourself, you only want audit because audit gives you the opportunity of getting roles abroad, which tax doesn't. If you've spent less than a year, just apply to audit in other Big 4 firms.

Ignorant post and reporting, there are by far worst places than this area all over the country. It's not even a quarter as bad as Obalende Lagos.

It's worthy to note that I grew up very close to in this area they are painting with bad reporting, and of course, I went to school, graduated in flying colors and now work in a developed country

This thread wasn't created to discredit the power of entrepreneurship or any other profession to create wealth.

As a matter of fact, it was created to correct the growing wrong impression that education or good grades is no longer a pathway to being successful.

Yes, I totally agree that's it's more difficult now than ever to get jobs in Nigeria due to growing supply of graduates and small number of jobs.

However, this brings fore the part of carving a niche for yourself, have good grades, write relevant and recognizable professional exams.

Did I mention that I started and completed a foreign professional accounting exam in record time between the time I created the last thread and now. This was part of what qualified me for the job in the US.

Summarily, in whatever you do, strive to distinguish yourself, there is competition everywhere. Your hardwork and smart work will always give you an edge.

Peace

It's almost 5 years that I created the thread below:

https://www.nairaland.com/1882369/over-hyping-first-class-honours-nigeria

So many things have happened afterwards. I got a job with one of the Big 4 firms just about a month after this thread and the story changed.

And last year, I got another job with the same Big 4 firm in the US, so I relocated.

Needless to say how my life has significantly changed over the years and believe me I've lived every life I've ever dreamed of living while in school and even more.

I thought I should create this thread to encourage any one still struggling.

I was the boy whose calls my older siblings didn't want to take coz I was always calling for money while in school, but the table has turned now and they all call to complain that I don't call them.

Work hard, be Steadfast, I can categorically tell you that my hardwork brought me this far and a little bit of luck. Remember, the harder you work, the luckier you get. If I can make it through education, anybody can.

Career / Re: Masters Scholarship In The UK Vs N500k Monthly Job In Nigeria by SamSara01: 1:30pm On Mar 17, 2019
Hey my friend, upon completion of your masters, will you be offered a job in the UK? Or you'll have to return to Nigeria. Immigration laws are really stringent in the UK. Believe me, I know of someone who was working with a Big 4 firm in Nigeria but got a Total scholarship in the UK. She took the scholarship, completed it, returned to Nigeria and it's almost 3 years she has still not got that big job yet. Evaluate your options, UK Masters doesn't guarantee a big job in Nigeria. So except you're almost certain you won't be coming back, I'll tell you to think twice before resigning that job.

By the way, I'm currently in the UK, I got a job here while I was working in Nigeria, and I can comfortably do my Masters while I'm here without fear of anyone sending back home when I'm done.

All the best

Sports / Re: Who Is The Better Manager, Pep Guardiola Or Jose Mourinho? by SamSara01: 2:51pm On May 24, 2016
Well, the thread wasn't created for who the best manager in the world is, but rather who the better manager is among the two above.
Sports / Who Is The Better Manager, Pep Guardiola Or Jose Mourinho? by SamSara01: 1:04pm On May 24, 2016
Pep Guardiola and Mourinho are set to renew their rivalry very soon in the English Premiership. Manchester City signed Guardiola to a three-year contract to replace Manuel Pellegrini, another. Most analysts and commentators already believe that Mourinho will be feeling the vacant Manchester United's managerial post. Pep and Mou have reached success with different styles.

Overall, they have played 15 matches head to head, with 7 victories for Guardiola's teams, 3 for Mourinho's teams and 5 draws. Both have won champions league twice and Guardiola has won 21 trophies spanning over his 7 years career while Mourinho has won 22 trophies spanning over his 16 years managerial career. Mourinho and Guardiola are expected to bring Manchester United vs Manchester City to a whole new level.

Who do you think is the best football manager? Is Mourinho's style excessively conservative and boring to watch? Is Guardiola a tactical genius or just happens to have managed the two best teams in the world? Are these managers better than Ancelotti or Diego Simeone? Who do you think will have the upper hand next year season in the Premiership?

Share your thoughts below, MODs please do the needful

Sports / Re: Who Is The Best Football Coach Ever? by SamSara01: 8:36am On Feb 20, 2015
Pep Guardiola is my best ever coach because he coached the best and most attractive football team I have seen. His team was the most superior footaball team in modern football. His fast, high pressing and sleeky passing style made other team looked ordinary. Ferguson in his long illustrious career years acknowledged that Guardiola team was the best team he ever played, Wenger said same. Guardiola team was so outstanding that they won all the six cups they played for in his first year with a front line of Eto, Messi , Henry.

Music/Radio / Re: Thread For Lovers Of Asa's "Bed Of Stone" by SamSara01: 3:26pm On Oct 02, 2014
How on earth can people say Asa is a better artist than 2face in Nigeria. Below are the few reasons why Asa can't stand 2face in Nigeria:
1: 2face has the greatest album yet in Nigeria (Grass to Grace)
2. 2face is the 1st hip hop artist to truly break out of Nigeria (where was Asa?)
3. Track to track, Asa can't even stand beside 2face as per hit tracks delivered. (you can make the comparison)
4: 2face is the most respected and loved artist among fans and colleagues in Nigeria today (you can do a survey)
5. 2face is undisputedly the most featured artist in Nigeria and in almost all cases in killed the tracks.
6. Asa's Asha album is her only true album they really won people over. Beautiful Imperfection wasn't really there(you can tell me 5 tracks off the album that makes sense.
All in all, these are the few points I could grasp with now and in as much as I love Asa and I believe she's next in line after 2face. I think it's very disrespectful to place Asa who has 1 and a half good album to 2face. Ask Asa herself, she'll tell you 2face is better
