successmatters: It was Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023 at Asaba airport. Mr Peter Obi had just arrived and was stepping out of the airport to head for his vehicle, when he noticed an elderly man, sitting by the corner, looking distressed.
The elderly man, 95, was heading to Abuja for his medical check-up. Unfortunately his flight was cancelled, and he was rescheduled for an evening flight, meaning that he would spend many excrutiating hours on a wheelchair, before he gets the chance to fly, assuming the flight is not cancelled again.
Filled with love, and understanding the delicate situation the man was in, Obi immediately arranged for the man to fly in a private jet leaving for Abuja at the moment, so he could meet up with his medical appointment.
The elderly man never stopped praying for Obi. His family members never stopped appreciating Obi. All who witnessed the event never stopped admiring Obi.
What manner of man is this that his heart beats for others! This man does not see anything good outside his cocoon, |

The protest was peaceful and without incident Is Peter Obi no longer Cumming, or is the 25% votes from Abuja no longer feasible |

Omowale2023: Okay....I totally and outrightly agree with him that Abuja is a mere 37th. But in the constitution for you to be a governor of a state, you must have the popularity votes and 25% in 2/3 of the state. Therefore if Abuja is a state, who is the governor?, the president or the president?. Your guess is as good as mine.
The president is the governor of Abuja, hence if that be the case, how can a governor be elected without getting 25% and the popularity votes from the state?
To unbuttress your opposing opinions, since 1999 to 2019, no president has been sworn into power without winning Abuja or getting 25%.
What do you think?
Do you think obi is wasting is time?
Do you think Tinubu's presidency is unconstitutional?
Do you think that the Judiciary will do the wrong thing as usual?
I leave you with your thoughts. My friend you don't even know what you are writing, if you are an obedient you better ask your principal to look for another evidence to present in court in order to claim his so-called stolen mandate and stop dwelling on this 25% votes from Abuja, because it will not take him to any where, |

Ofunaofu: First and foremost Tinubu did not win 34 state. This settles it because I know where you are coming from as his supporters
The fact remains that Tinubu did not meet the 25% requirement in the FCT Abuja, and shouldn't have been declared the winner
To your question,
If a candidate can be so popular to win 34 States, he will comfortably get 25% in the FCT Abuja because his popularity would have rob off on the people living in the FCT Abuja, aliens are not living in the FCT You are arguing like an slowpoke, even if Peter Obi hire 200 SANs there is nothing they can do about special status they want to accord the FCT, by doing that you are in essence telling us that in the next presidential election the candidates should just stay in abuja and be campaigning there, since the other 36 States are less important, which is a very bad precedent, so it is only just, fair and sensible to swear in the president elect Messr Tinubu on may 29 |
Politics › Re: The Supreme Court Has Resolved The Nigeria President & 25% Fct, Abuja Quandary S by samunaka: 7:34pm On Mar 26, 2023 |
Ofunaofu: "This then begets the question: is it just, reasonable and sensible to argue that a candidate who, for instance, won 36 States of the Federation and also polled the highest number of votes cast at an election but failed to score 25% of the votes cast in FCT, Abuja cannot be deemed the winner of the election? I think not. That would not be just, reasonable and sensible."
This argument doesn't hold water, infact it is a very silly argument and can only come from the camp of the APC who are at the moment caught up with the law.
If someone can be so popular to the extent of winning the entire 36 state, getting 25% in the FCT Abuja shouldn't be difficult because those who live in FCT Abuja are Nigerians who should be in tune with the popularity of the said candidate You are a liar, I don't know your level of education or your knowledge of international politics, but you should know that the world over it is always difficult for a ruling party to win the state capital of their county because of the cosmopolitan nature and number of elites there, most state capitals are always leaning towards the left, so no constitution will demand a political party or a presidential candidate must win it's capital before being declared a winner of a presidential election, I doubt much |

odoemelamemmanu: 10th NASS: Why APC Should Zone Senate President to Southeast – Ohikere
By Ameer Obansa
Former Kogi state information commissioner, Tom Ohikere has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the Senate Presidency to the Southeast in the interest of fairness and stability of the incoming dispensation and also for unity in the APC.
Ohikere made the assertion while speaking to select journalists in Lokoja, Kogi state on the sidelines of the March 18, state assembly elections.
According to Ohikere, no ethno – religious or geo-political region has a monopoly of any political party and that permutations and political outcomes are usually the results of strategic negotiations and concessions.
He said the political scene is ever dynamic and constantly changing and success for a political party involves the ability to carry all factions along amicably.
Ohikere said, “The Southeast have an indignation towards the APC government over alleged marginalization. Politics is dynamic game and the balance of yesterday, cannot stand the realities of today. That is the push and pull of today.
“The outgoing dispensation witnessed other regions like the northwest, the Southwest, Northeast, North central and even the South – South playing visible roles in the executive and legislative powers of government, the southeast from which emerges one of the major three tribes of the country has been conspicuously absent much to their consternation. Even though many in the APC are blaming it on their non-acceptance of the party. But it is simple, if you want the region to accept you then you should act favourable or more persuasively towards it, and I believe that is what the Buhari’s government has been doing in the latter part of the administration with the various visit to the region.
Ohikere added that the southeast APC have proven their worth in the general election against palpable odds, even clinching some senatorial seats in the southeast and southsouth states, such as Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Edo and Cross Rivers state.
Ohikere who is also the chairman of the APC Broom Platform said the current chief whip of the National Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has paid his dues towards the upliftment, stability and successes of the party and hence is more qualified than any other elected politician to be the next president of the senate.
“With the changing of the guard, the shift in balance and the evolving clarity of perception will no doubt lead to new alliances and permutations from both within our party and on the general political level. Zoning and rotation for balance has always been central to our political calculus especially in such a period of crucial decision making.
“Despite the denials and apologies of the APC leadership, the Southeast APC has been growing steadily and parading prominent names, including former governor Orji Uzor Kalu. Kalu who is currently the chief whip of the national assembly has shown himself unquestionably loyal to the APC in its vision for a better Nigeria. Hence the clamour within the APC for him to occupy such a position, Ohikere stated
https://osunreporters.com/2023/03/10th-nass-why-apc-should-zone-senate-president-to-southeast-ohikere/ Wrong advice, how many senators is APC having from the south east, how many governors from that zone, the Senate President is too big a post to give to a region that outrightly rejected your party, I still believe that the Senate presidency should go to the north central, but for the purpose of inclusive government the speaker of H o R should be zoned to the south east |
