Ironically, Nigeria has remained fixated on 4,000 megawatts since Adam.

This my prediction is not based on sentiments or tribalism but based on diff. forms of polls and public opinion..

Southern votes
Peter obi: 40%
Tinubu: 45%
Atiku: 15%

Northern votes
Peter obi:10%
Tinubu: 40%
Atiku: 50%

If you ever think that Obi will surpass Kwankwaso in 2023 presidential election you better consult your psychiatrist, here in the North Kwankwaso is more of a threat to Atiku than even Tinubu

As the deadline for political parties to submit the names of their candidates closes in, there have been horse trading over the choice of running mates to Presidential Candidates.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed June 17, as the deadline for the submission of candidates for the 2023 elections.

How northern APC govs boosted Tinubu’s chances, victory at primaries

Lessons from `successful’ APC primary

Daily Trust had reported how the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have narrowed their choices of running mates to some key politicians.

According to sources while Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC is considering Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno State, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is strongly considering settling for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

However, sources told Daily Trust that the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc of the APC are planning to approach President Muhammadu Buhari to recommend Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice or the Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, for the position.

CPC, now defunct, is one of the legacy parties of the APC.

“The CPC elements are planning to approach President Buhari to seek for his intercession to endorse either Abubakar Malami or Hadi Sirika as the running mate,” a source said.

“But there is the high probability that the president will repeat what he did ahead of the APC special convention; he will listen to all but he will most likely allow the candidate to have a say in who he wants to work with…They would collectively work in producing the right candidate who will bring votes and acceptability because the ultimate goal is for the APC to retain power.”

It was gathered that Tinubu has an appointment with the president on Wednesday and that the issue of running mate is among the issues to be discussed.

Analysts say the choice of the running mates will determine the victory or otherwise of the candidates in the February 25, 2023, presidential election.

A a running mate that had more than 14 million votes across the country is not popular you must be joking.

Please note that in 2019 he was riding on somebody's back but in 2023 he will be on his own with a party which is relatively unknown and with no structure on ground across the vast majority of the North, I stand to be corrected, but its going to be an up hill task for PO to make any impact

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu showed he has strong political structure. Across the 6 geopolitical zones of the country, he has deliberately invested in other people's aspirations as well as intervened in other people's moments of trial. He built network of politicians who owe him a payback. Today, he got it.

Pres Buhari's humiliation of Tinubu also gained sympathy for him. Many Northern APC politicians believe that Tinubu deserve a better deal having given Pres. Buhari his 100% support once again in 2019 in spite of being relegated after 2015 landmark APC victory. Matter of fact Pres. Buhari won APC primary over Kwankwanso and Atiku on the strength of SW delegates' block votes. Being politicians, these Northern politicians know how painful being used and dumped can be. They stood for him.

Congratulations, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu!

nairalandankrah:
A presidential aspirant and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has vowed to defeat Atiku Abubakar before 2pm on election day if he emerges as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bello boasted that he has the formula to defeat Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

He said: “By June this year, I will be 47. I am still the young of the young people, the voice of the younger generation, the voice for the women, the voice for people living with disabilities, and the voice for Nigerians irrespective of religion, region, or tribe because we have demonstrated it in Kogi State.”

Speaking on the solution to Nigeria’s security challenges, the governor explained that he has demonstrated his ability to solve tackle insecurity based on his experience in Kogi State.

Bello also promised to solve the security challenges facing the country within a year of assuming office if elected as the next president in 2023.

The presidential aspirant stated that since he came on board as Kogi governor in 2016, the state has recorded low-security issues due to his leadership.

“I have demonstrated that well enough in Kogi State. By the special grace of God, we are going to achieve it within the first 12 months of Governor Yahaya Bello’s presidency,” he said.

The three names were sent to President Buhari to choose his consensus candidate from, by the Northern governors spearheaded by Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State.

Practically, all other contestants are going in for the election. The names were not presented by the APC party Chairman and the NWC, the governors are on their own. They can choose their own successors in their states but cannot choose the President's own successor. Buhari have reiterated that times without number. "Allow me to choose my successor, the same way I allowed you people to choose your successors"

It is left for the President to choose whom to listen to, the Governors or the APC chairman and the NWC. The list is ceremonial and doesn't reflect the realities on ground

Adebanjo recalled that he warned Tinubu a long time ago that Buhari could not be trusted when he was packaging him as the best to be the president of Nigeria.

He stated that everything he said about Buhari had come to pass even though they said he was saying rubbish then.

“Those who doubted me said the old man was just talking rubbish. I said, ‘okay let’s wait and see.’ I won’t talk more until they finally ditch themselves out. By the time they finally ditch themselves, that’s when I will comment.

Northern PDP Group Urges Atiku, Governors, Bot , Others to Pick Gov.Wike as Running Mate

Group under umbrella of Northern People's Democratic Party (PDP) Vanguard had asked the winner of just concluded primaries, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to pick Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike as his running mate.

You are wasting your time, Atiku is not new to seeing overzealous VP he did it to Obasanjo when he almost hijacked the presidency, there is no way Atiku can pick Wike as his VP to come cause him more problem than he did to Obasanjo, except of course you want the country to be in comatose for the next four years if they eventually win

It also appealed to PDP Governors, BoT and NWC members as well as stakeholders to support the choice of Wike as Atiku's running mate.

According to the PDP group, Wike, who lost to Atiku in the primaries has demonstrated enough maturity and tenacity to remain a loyal party member.

The Northern PDP Vanguard in press statement signed by the Zonal Coordinator,Hon. Ibrahim Ahmadu pointed out that the choice of Wike as Vice President would create better chances for the party during the forthcoming general elections.

He further stated , "We strongly believe that picking Governor Wike will not only calm frayed nerves, but also help to douse the tension stirred up over alleged rumours of gang up from the North against him .

"It would be wise to pick someone that has consistently showed love for his party by ensuring the party remains relevant in the times of adversity for over seven years.

"All party members can attest to the fact that Gov. Nyesom Wike's was the main pillar that held the party from collapsing and he's brave enough to fight the ruling party at all times . " He added.
Speaking on his performance as a Governor, the PDP group noted , "Wike's developmental strides as the Governor of Rivers State is second to none across 36 States of Nigeria .And if records of performance is a yard for any election , the Wike is sure material for and President."

However, the group called on the PDP Flagbearer to shun selfish politicians and bad advisers who might want to dissuaded him from picking Wike .

"Wike has the capacity right contacts across Nigeria to win election for the main opposition party during the Presidential elections ." He said .
