Is this not why they used dirty propaganda to fight and remove Jonathan from power. So that all top echelon must be hausa/fulani followed by their slaves the yorubas? Take a closer look at the photos again.
I thought Jonathan was the one who spent several millions of Naira on propaganda campaigns against Buhari and Tinubu on AIT and the NTA?

I just wonder when you people would wake up for this cryo sleep and in turn, realize that Jonathan was beaten fair and square and a million 5% would not have been able to save him.

When you consciously brand Hausa/Fulani as masters and the Yorubas as slaves to both, where then, does that put your own?

If those commenting on this threads are youths then I'd say Nigeria is in trouble. Indeed we have no reading culture. The reason for being fired is not because of recession but unethical approaches and lackadaisical attitudes towards work
Although the number of the affected non-core employees could not be ascertained since they were not direct workers of the bank, it was gathered that the reasons for their exit ranged from non-performance, disciplinary issues as well as rightsizing by the lender.
And then you see many of them ranting Jonathan like he would have forced the affected staff to be upright at their workplace.

Education › Re: “Does Speaking Of English As First Language Promotes Academic Excellence?” by Sanchez01(m): 8:41am On Oct 31, 2016
Rapmoney:
In my opinion, I think it does. A child who is not academically sound in written and spoken English is likely to perform poorly in other subjects because the other subjects are mostly taught in English. This will affect the overall academic performance of the child.

There's no need saying we should learn Biology or Chemistry or Economics in our local languages due to the problems that can create. For instance, there are many biological terms and chemical terms that cannot be translated to our local languages. Trying to find the synonymous words, sentences or phrases of these terms in our local languages is a huge problem on its own.

The truth is that we learn in English and whoever that cannot express himself/herself clearly in same can hardly transfer knowledge!
Your first paragraph assertion is so wrong. That the child would not do well in school because all subjects are taught using the English does not apply to every country on the face of the earth. Let me also add that the OP's question is not limited or restricted to Nigeria but to every country there is. Hence, there's a need for us to critically exam how these countries have fared with or without the English Language.

China remains the world's foremost production house of the world, yet most Chinese don't even understand the English language. Interestingly, Mandarin (Chinese langiage) is the world's most spoken and most popular language.

That English is our lingua franca does not mean it is the true test for intelligence or brilliance. We were colonized by the Brits, hence, the heavy influence of their language on us. Furthermore, here is a country with over 250 ethnic group, the 'cheapest' unifying language considered was the English language. Quite unfortunately, we cannot bulge since it is the language of instruction.

Linguists would tell you that the mother tongue (L1) is innate in a child, and the urge to learn another (L2) is highly available. When this happens, we say such a person is BILINGUAL; possess the ability to effectively read and write in more than a language, and last I checked, bilingualism was never a test for intelligence as there are varying factors which could impede some persons.

My argument
Most Chinese are not bilingual. They are deeply rooted into their culture and traditions that they do not feel there's a need to learn some other languages of the world. If you meet a well placed Chinese man, you'd discover that he readily has an interpreter at his disposal, yet, as a people, they hold the world by the balls, technology and production wise.

I can effortlessly speak the Urhobo language (L1), the Yoruba Language (L2), the English language (L2) and a fraction of Spanish (L2) and that might not necessarily make me excel within the academic sphere so long I don't develop INTEREST in my academic quest.

About 6 years back, I had some course mates (females) who would speak English like they were born outside Nigeria but would readily disturb you to explain tons of things to them before exams and you'd get to ask if the English language is not sufficient enough to save them.

All in all, academic excellence is not dependent on the English language and vice versa. As a matter of fact, students all over would excel greatly if taught with their mother tongues (L1).

Let him who is without sin be the first to cast a stone. She's only human. We have many ladies in Nigeria who do what she did. Like the Yorùbás would say; 'he who is caught red handed is the thief. We're huge hypocrites in this part of the world. Not like I support her actions though, but what she did is believed to be in the past and should be her past. It is not like what she did was right though but we have thousands of Nigerian ladies are morally bankrupt than the lady in question.

The so called award is just to make money, I believe. 'for not giving up during trying times and staying strong against all odds' is more like saying 'people come and see the cucumber scandal model just for a little token. This is a grand plan at ridiculing the poor lady. She should outrightly ignore the invitation. But then it seems a bit late because she must have agreed to the programme before it was announced.

I am not criticizing him. If you read through the post, you'd notice so many inconsistencies, particularly on the use of 'CV' and 'RESUMÉ'. I might as well do that today, not to prove a point but to help people who can't tell the difference between both. Romance › Re: How Can a Man Regain His Respect From a Disrespectful Girlfriend? by Sanchez01(m): 9:32pm On Oct 27, 2016
Alawe:
She is God fearing and She dis respects you? I am quite surprised at this, because the two do not match. She can't just double date, or if she is really Gods fearing you are probably showing inclinations that she belongs to the 'kitchen and the other room' which is refusing because she knows she has potentials beyond that. You should've given some instances of her disrespect. Women sometimes use some behaviors that may appear negative to express love, like possessiveness of their man. Meanwhile, have u called her and let her know your 'likes and hates' of her behaviors? Many men becos of fear of the unknown don't like to speak up but harbor things in their mind and allow it to eat them up.
I was expecting to see 'respect is earned' blah blah blah. There are cases you make exceptions and this is one. Perhaps one of the reasons she disrespects him is as a result of excess familiarity which has broken boundary walls which ought to be accorded

I'm sure she wasn't that way from the beginning. Her action might have been due to something the OP. Eg,

1. borrowed some money from her (some ladies would lose the respect they have for you the day you try this with them. A wise one, however, would consider it as one of her roles in the relationship).

2. Excessive familiarity: While this is not true in all cases, excessive familiarity is often considered a breeding ground for disrepect in relationships. No matter how close two lovers are, the should be a boundary which must not be abused, regardless of what they share. Lack of definition would cause your relationship to run without limits or boundaries. For example, slapping her cheek just because you guys are clowning or you receiving a 'light' knock on your head all in the name of playing.

3. You: If she wasn't that way from the onset, then what are the likely causes? What has changed? When did it start, really? Does she respect other guys and you happen to be the only one she disrespects? Are there things you ought to be doing which you have not? I understand that you work hard to meet up, but are you sensitive enough to know she wants some things and the only way to speak up is by being disrespectful?

4. Her background/family: How healthy is the relationship in her immediate family? How is the relationship like between her parents? Are the parents separated? Is the father misbehaving or quarrels with the mother or the girls at home? These are important cues to note. If the whole thing seems from her family, then I'd suggest you take her to see a counsellor because there's likely to be a trend. And if you think you can't stress yourself, then I'd recommend you walk away. A broken relationship is better than a broken marriage.

Does she have an older sister? If yes, I'd suggest you speak with her, not like you're reporting her though but more like you're investigating on your part while you genuinely open up.

I'm sure you meant to say if he was matured enough. Ladies would always be ladies, they would complain, sometimes over nothing, just so they could get your attention. A well grown, groomed gentleman or man would have them sit and talk it over, mostly by seeing him apologize and not defend his actions.

Talk about the one of the effects of having your life revolve around social media platforms. If a young man cannot keep a relationship then you'd wonder what he can keep. Success? Perhaps not.

Swiftkey Keyboard is no different. Swiftkey, TouchPal, etc, are just keyboarding styles which gives you the same auto correcting features as the one pre-installed in your phone. Is that what you're using now, by the way?

I honestly don't understand. Imagine using your own hands to punch a word on the virtual keypad and auto correct would relegate your words to tell you what you typed is isn't correct. After several months or years of using the phone, auto correct still fails to study patterns of words you type the most or use almost everyday.

No doubt, the keypad AI is supposed to be a smartphone users' best friend, but how it has and is still striving to be an enemy is this part of the world is disturbing. Its advent and evolution has been pretty amazing, fine the T9 mode to what it has become today. If you are not so blessed to grace the 3310, the 2210, the Sagems, Sendos and Birds of this world, you might not really understand the T9 (text on 9 keys) prediction mode.

For natural born typists, the auto correct could be a nightmare, particularly when there's so much to let out through finger tips. That, I believe, is supposed to be one of the major objectives of the keypad AI, to help string words easier and faster.

Why the sudden rant on an innocent software that is meant to correct me blundershuh It has landed me into troubles more than it has helped. I could remember several years back during a chat, I innocently started a conversation with a very good friend, only for her to send me 'madman ke' when I meant to refer to her as 'madam'. Quite unbelievable, I must say, but I found myself apologizing for some minutes. Perhaps the auto correct was asleep at the time and just suggested whatever.

On Official notes, I have seen myself apologize countless number of times over misspellings of names just because the auto correct tries to make a point - 'I know more than you do. That is why I'm here'. That moment when someone sends you a message via a real time messenger and you harmlessly mean to respond and go 'Good afternoon, Mr Monsoon' (and then you tap send without realizing Mr NONSO has been transformed to Mr MONSOON shocked) and then you have to start looking for a way to undo the damage as you keep murmuring 'chai' to yourself. This is true story though. Unfortunately, those on the other end don't realize what one faces, even in the midst of the many apologies.

I could go on and on in painting rib cracking scenarios but it would not change the fact that the auto correct is all that help to those of us who hate inflectional words which are often termed 'informal' in formal settings. While some would come to say the auto correct is designed for English words and common words, and not Nigerian languages, it would amuse you that the auto correct could lead one to a point of no return if one allows it to lead. I have a huge apology to tender at the office after auto correct did its thing again yesternight. Fortunately, it's a colleague, it still does not take out the fact that the keypad AI isn't all that intelligent.

I guess I might just have to show this to my colleague later on to prove my innocence and to show my apology is indeed genuine over an epic auto correct fail.
