InfinixMine:It would definitely happen at some point in time. My case is quite similar though, just that it was two at the same time, same state and quite different too. I didn't take me long to choose. It doesn't really take long after the excitement has faded ![]() |
First off: DON'T DREAM OF WORKING FOR THESE PEOPLE; LEBANESE, CHINESE and INDIANS. Regardless of how nice they are to you today, you'd be treated as a piece of dirt with time. For me, I'd advice you go with the first. Although it might be challenging, considering the fact that your family is in Lagos and all, I'm sure you'd do well to move them to the East with time, when you're fully settled that is. Also, you have an existing relationship with the said man before now and he trusts you to a reasonable degree, which most employees deal with in the first few months of landing a new job. Life in the East isn't all that bad as I am there myself, even though I still consider myself new here and still trying to shake off the Lagos effect that I am used to. For the private company, we all pray to get higher salaries as we look out for the next job but there are certain things you might need to consider here; 1. It does not align with your field, hence a possible issue with job satisfaction. It happens a lot, trust me. 2. A possible scenario of deviation might pop up, particularly if you choose to consider your resumè and intend trending as an auditor. 3. Private companies... (Well... *shrugs) For me, all directions point to the East. If arrangements have been made with the man on the other side, as you claimed and he is looking for an accommodation already, then sit back and relax. Congratulations bro ![]() |
Typical of some guys. Ideally he should have just introduced himself with some few words and lay back. A lady who is interested in chatting with you would so afterwards. When you start begging with horrible shorthands such as 'pls, pls, pls', you give the impression that you're desperate, immature and lack courtesy. What am I doing here sef ![]() |
eightsin:Please tell me this is a lie! |
Funjosh:After reading everything on the thread, all I can say is 'It is well'. My major concern is why she promised to bridge the gap between her mother and her siblings two years ago and nothing has been done till this very moment. It's awfully surprising. |
pacino26:I'm telling you! You needed to see how cows littered Presidential Road ,shortly before you get to Roban stores two days ago. |
Onegai:Kindly share links to them, please? |
moji26:This just about sums up who you are. While I believe every human is capable of change, you come off as someone that is irredeemable. I'm no God though but man has a way of telling certain things. Let me be frank with you more than ever, the ONLY person that has been very plain and direct about your issue on here is Onegai. You think she hates you? Please think again. Regardless of how much your tab is worth, you ought to have sold it before now to sustain the child you have. You claim you haven't been eating and have been starving, yet, you stay online with a tablet, which means you either subscribe on the device or you directly use your airtime which is a bit expensive. Your false sense of entitlement, coupled with the petty pride you have pushed you to this point. You have just proven Mynd44 right. What you have is a very big problem, which could staunt your growth in life. You might not have asked Onegai for money directly but you indirectly asked her the moment you stressed you needed help. Those hovering on the thread and calling out Onegai just to fan their egos would only get you into trouble if you think they're right. We make certain mistakes in life but when we make a mistake twice, it becomes _stupidity and Onegai has been right to point that to your face. No one is interested in why you made these mistakes. You have made them and everyone is taking the time they don't have to help you and you think you're entitled to them? My dear, you're not. As a young lady and as a mother, you have not been making sacrifices to show you're really serious about forging ahead, that has been the subtle message of Onegai to you ever since. Thorpido, a million thanks to you for your help here. Even without meeting the mother yet, why she's mad and tired of her is quite glaring at this point. I pray we all arrive at a conclusion that would impact her positively for life and live what is left correcting what has been done. Regardless, she has to see a psychologist and a counsellor, that is after the frosty relationship with her mother has been defrosted. Cc Jaybee3 Mynd44 Mizmycoli |
MizMyColi:You're absolutely right. There's an obvious broken fence between mother and daughter, and pride seems to be responsible here, coupled with the fact that she is used to the good, easy life. You have just about mentioned everything there is to say. I guess there is a need to mend the sour relationship between them and make the lady in question know she is wrong in every sense and has wronged the mother. This should be a reconciliatory mission now, as opposed to what she painted at first. I trust Thorpido and others to find out the whole truth from the mother. This way, a possible way forward would be looked into. I just couldn't get myself to compose my thoughts coherently because I was in the hospital for a lab test that involved those courteous lab attendants drawing my blood bi-hourly.Sorry about this. It is strong folks that tend to see needles suck out blood from them. Hope you stay strong. |
MizMyColi:This best sums up everything. If she is not willing to work, whatever assistance is rendered would be temporary, which worries me. |
Onegai:Did she confirm the food part? How did you find out, please? I was thinking her major problem is feeding the child at hand and herself. The suicide part, I know she wouldn't even try. Th.orpido, thanks for this. But what do they mean, "follow any stranger anywhere"?I think this is a result of her past. Perhaps her neighbours know she is in the habit of having people coming to pick her from the house before it got to this point. This goes on to prove that it's a pretty messy situation for neighbours to call her mother that she was going out with a 'stranger'. MizMyColi:Just stay strong. Empathy is only natural at this point. Jaybee3 made some valid points. Focusing on a way to taking out the underlying problem is paramount right now. |
jaybee3:Did she tell you what kind of business she would like to venture into? Just like you rightly pointed out, she has no skill set, no prior background knowledge and I'm quite sure she hasn't ventured into one before. A possible scenario of mismanagement could surface. Business won't solve her psychological problem. As a matter of fact, the latter would impact her terrible if one overlooks it to help her with her 'dream business'. It's actually unbelievable that an educated lady would find herself in this mess. |
Mynd44:You're right, and at the bolded, it just about confirms everything. I've been thinking about this since yesterday and my theory was able to sum up the fact that she loves life and she's very reckless at the same time. She's unconsciously proud of working but would rather choose to beg. All she needs is a long term counsellor, someone to talk several senses into her head and the need to sit up as her chances are gradually thinning out. She has equally not shown any commitment towards living a good life. I wouldn't blame the mum though. For the pregnancy, well, I'm too morally strict to advise she aborts it, and would rather not say a thing about it. However, I'd suggest the contraceptive thing for her. Perhaps she was thinking she could 'trap' the men with pregnancies. @Thorpido, God bless you for taking time out of your busy schedule. ifyalways:The bolded is very annoying. No one owes her a thing her. Everyone is trying to help her and she should get that into her head. A blackmail as this does not really work with someone like me. I believe Mynd's assertion on the work theory is true afterall. She is pretty much too lazy to work. @Thorpido, one final request please. Could you get her something to eat for this morning, and also help fix the child? Most importantly, please have a conversation with the mother. I feel there's more to this. If she's indeed lazy, the mother would tell. That way, we would know what she has in mind with whatever she gets from those of us willing to help. I wouldn't want her to come back here again after this episode. I'm tired of this already. |
This rift would be the very undoing of Buhari and the APC in 2019. While Oyegun's sudden bravery can be ascribed to some invisible Northern hands who clearly understands that Tinubu is a force and the need to cut him to size is a must, it must also be noted that he wields some unexplainable power the likes of Obasanjo cannot explain. For all I know, the Northern elites might be getting into a futuristic trouble with BAT. Buhari was a nonenity until Tinubu looked his way. This might be a lost cause to some Northern elites who wants to cut Tinubu to size at all cost. |
Chinachriss:Don't misquote the Bible, please. What you see above is madness in the name of God, and that isn't right. You cannot be sitting in murky waters in your right senses all in the name of serving God. God didn't ask you to. Images as these is what make lot of persons believe that Christianity is about formatting and brainwashing. |
MizMyColi:Please kindly mention me when you have verified what needs to be. Would love to help. |
thorpido:The Problem isn't about her past but about how a one time life-loving lady with an average command of the English language would suddenly become one who cannot string sentences and know her tenses. Maybe I'm the one seeing things from this angle. |
moji26:I'm naturally soft but this won't work. It's not like you've taken poison and you needed an ambulance to come pick you up. You won't die just yet. Let people find out the truth. They deserve it. |
Onegai:Not again... Just one genuinely wants to help, you find out they're all fraud. No matter how much she tries to defend whatever, it's obvious she's a fraud. The other moniker reveals she's learned and understand syntax. This moniker is a total opposite. Perhaps to get more pity. I see no reason why anyone would want to defraud others just because they want to live the good life. |
ogwumgbe:I don't need to give you a name. Perhaps your denomination shush women in the church and ask them to keep quiet like Paul, who is not Christ commanded. Question is, how many people actually baptized people? Dominantly John the Baptist. Also know that the Jewish tradition considered women inconsequential and Paul didn't hide this fact. What it used to be then is not what it is now. |
jmoore:Let's paint a scenario; what happens to a wet attire on a woman? Obviously it becomes so wet that it remains glued to her body, more like it was craved just as her body. Within that split seconds that it happens during baptism by immersion, a lot could run through a man's head, man of God or not. Worst still, her frontals are staring directly at him. It's just similar to a pastor counselling a lady or woman alone in his office. It wouldn't take long before he gets into trouble. And before you say 'he is a man of God', remember that he is, first, a human, before being a man of God. Again, scroll to those pictures and take a look at the attires and imagine what would happen should they go wet. |
Baptizing a female by a male minister is awfully wrong. This is where female ministers comes in. |
Heaven knows I hate Hilary Clinton just as I hate Trump. Her email scandal is still fresh just in case she's trying to look all too desperate to become the President. While I'd commend her for the lying face she wore during the debate, I pray Americans get Trump as their President because the country itself is purely hypocritical. The whites hate blacks, while their blacks consider themselves more superior than Africans. I pray Trump triumphs so that the country can go ahead and break all diplomatic ties with the rest of the world. The video isn't fresh, regardless. It happened a long time ago and he already apologized. Obama+Clinton+Hilary can play throw as many oils as possible, eventually, Americans would vote. Reminds me of Jonathan's direct attacks on Buhari. Politicians don't learn. This is by far the worst candidates in the US Presidential election. Both of them aren't really what one would expect from typical American leaders. Unfortunately for Hilary, lots and lots of people hate her family and she's only trying to get herself out of murky waters. It won't fly. |
aaronson:First off, the passage is Psalm 137:9 and not what you quoted above. The funniest thing is, atheists think they know a lot and are capable of reasoning things out when in reality it's clearly the opposite. What you quoted is off topic because you would have seen that the passage is about warfare and not about what you think it is, particularly if you read from verse 5 down. - Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones; i.e. that brings on thee the worst calamities of war (see 2 Kings 8:12; Isaiah 12:16-18; Hosea 10:14; Hosea 13:16; Nahum 3:10).http://biblehub.com/commentaries/psalms/137-9.htm |
aaronson:Interesting. Your own understanding of the Bible is purely tiny. 2Cor 6:14 clearly projects the OP's message. 'DO NOT BE UNEQUALLY YOKED WITH AN UNBELIEVER'. |
Tonymic4life:Nah... The best to knowing them is 'unboxing' prior the price release date or availability of the device itself. |
akintom:I understand that you're coming off as an atheist, but the passage you held on to, which also serves as your main argument on the thread is obviously not clear to you. Take your time to read and understand what I posted above. |
akintom:Malachi 1:2-3 declares, “’I have loved you,’” says the LORD. But you ask, 'How have you loved us?' ‘Was not Esau Jacob's brother?’ the LORD says. ‘Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.’” Malachi 1:3 is quoted in Romans 9:10-13, “Not only that, but Rebekah's children had one and the same father, our father Isaac. Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God's purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls—she was told, ‘The older will serve the younger.’ Just as it is written: ‘Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.’” Why did God love Jacob and hate Esau? If God is love (1 John 4: , how could He hate anyone? When studying the Bible, it is critically important to always study the context of a particular Bible verse or passage. In these instances, the prophet Malachi and the apostle Paul are using the name “Esau” to refer to the Edomites, who were the descendants of Esau. Isaac and Rebekah had two sons, Esau and Jacob. God chose Jacob (whom He later renamed “Israel”) to be the father of His chosen people, the Israelites. God rejected Esau (who was also called “Edom”) and did not choose him to be the father of His chosen people. Esau and his descendants, the Edomites, were in many ways blessed by God (Genesis 33:9; Genesis chapter 36). So, considering the context, God loving Jacob and hating Esau has nothing to do with the human emotions of love and hate. It has everything to do with God choosing one man and his descendants and rejecting another man and his descendants. God chose Abraham out of all the men in the world. The Bible very well could say, “Abraham I loved, and every other man I hated.” God chose Abraham’s son Isaac instead of Abraham’s son Ishmael. The Bible very well could say, “Isaac I loved, and Ishmael I hated.” Romans chapter 9 makes it abundantly clear that loving Jacob and hating Esau was entirely related to which of them God chose. Hundreds of years after Jacob and Esau had died, the Israelites and Edomites became bitter enemies. The Edomites often aided Israel’s enemies in attacks on Israel. Esau’s descendants brought God’s curse upon themselves. Genesis 27:29 tells Israel, “May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.” |
cr7lomo:My grouse is not the fact that Tecno exists only in Nigeria or not. Also, it has nothing to do with me not being able to buy the phone or not. I just hate it when people bring what not with the so many hypes, only to discover that it's not worth it. I pre-ordered a device from aliexpress and it's quite expensive now, considering the weakness of the Naira against the Dollar. I have no issues with an initial low end maker striving to become a high end producer. Why not launch the device in Nigeria They launched it elsewhere and dumped it here as usual. Regardless, a low end device is only what it is, irrespective of how it is packaged. |
spitfyer:I don't even have it. I use a different device entirely. It only sickens me to see these guys open multiple accounts to lure people into buying nothing but hypes. Reminds me of the moment they made so much noise about ITEL Prime II, only to discover that the device is what you cannot get for a child. |
ammyluv2002:I'm sorry nau. I was being considerate. You know I can't just be sending messages again. You should understand ![]() |
ammyluv2002:Chai! Never dreamt of it though. I think I'd start thinking about it ![]() I haven't forgotten you ![]() I promise we'll chat very soon, hopefully at the weekend ![]() |
