free2ryhmeGood thing you brought the passges up. When God chooses for you, He chooses the best regardless, we have the power to accept or reject God's choice (this is never advisable). If we're seeking the word "choose" then we may never find it. To choose is an option just as to choose after you FIND. God found a wife for Isaac and Abraham accepted God's CHOICE whole heartedly. God chose for Isaac and he accepted it. In the case of Hosea God want to show a symbolic sign btw Him and the children of Israel. God will nvr visist you to choose a LovePeddler as a wifeThe significance of Hosea's union with a harlot is not our bone of contention, but that God is capable of choosing for a man or not is. God explicitly chose a harlot for Hosea just as God chooses for several reasons concerning His own. For example, God could choose for you to humble you, to break you or to aid you in the ministry He has placed you. Note that He does not just choose for anyone but those who are VERY close to Him. "Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God" (Romans 8:14, NIV). "Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him" (Isaiah 64:4, NIV). In the case of Joseph he was about to put his wife because she was pregnant outside wedlock which is against his belief but God's plan with Mary would not allow Joseph to do put her away.Yes, Mary was pregnant outside of wedlock. (Matthew 1:18-21) Can you imagine being engaged, and suddenly noticing that your fiancée is pregnant? She claims it wasn’t some other man, instead she says it was an angel from the Lord that got her pregnant. Joseph had two choices; to stone her to death as per the Law and as per the custom, or break off the engagement. He still had options but God re-affirmed that Mary was his wife. Mind you she was already married before the prophecy of Christ birth. It was not a case of Joseph marrying her and she became pregnant. Mind you she was a virgin when he discovered she was pregnantWas she? No! She was engaged to Joseph. The Bible says she was "BETROTHED". No need to stretch this. Bottom line: God chose for Hosea and he accepted. God found (chose) a wife for Isaac, again he accepted through his father, Abraham. God re-affirmed in the case of Joseph and Mary. Just like some of the pass I gave above, all that is needs faith and total obedience. God is still in the business of choosing for His sons; those that are led. His standard has not fallen, neither has it risen beyond what it used to be. |
donnypool:Lemme copy and paste what I responded with not quite long: The Lord answered Abraham’s prayer for a wife for his son, Isaac with a sign and a drinking jar (Gen. 24). He told Hosea exactly when he should seek a wife and what kind of woman she should be (Hos. 1:2). An angel came to Joseph in a dream and told him to take Mary to be his wife (Matt. 1:20). Adam is another. Psalm 37:4: "Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Throwing everything to God to choose for you is not to be done passively. And there are several reasons God may decide to choose for a man. Concerning the job issue and CV, landing a good job is neither by how good your CV is or how well dressed you look. Favour is key and is capable of making one stand out. What many have experienced during job interviews have proven that "my understanding cannot do all things". You see some do excellently well during these interviews yet they end up empty-handed and you end up see someone who struggled during the process get the job. I'm not talking about the 'man-know-man' thing though. Staying active while God takes charge is key. Passive participation may render the process useless. Albeit, when God favours a man, such is sure to be favoured by men. |

donnypool:Wrong sir, God is still in the habit as long as you're willing to let Him choose for you. |
ammyluv2002:You ehn? ![]() God alone gives, by strength shall no man prevail. |
youngsahito:By everything, you mean the instrumental, please take note. It's not hidden. It's obvious to music enthusiasts who are not restricted to "shakiti bobo" and "shoki". Don't paint Adekunle Gold in bad light. It's normal. Btw, it's called "COVER"; just like Oliver Twist's several versions. |
socialmediaman:Trust me, there's no damage or whatsoever. Even the sycophants here know the magnitude of Jonathan's destruction. Petty sentiments, greed and selfish reasons are some of the reasons why these folks are sticking to GEJ and the PDP. It's really disturbing when so-called leaders of tomorrow openly embrace and glory in corruption, just because they choose whom to go with rather than stand for what is indeed right. Jonathan is a plague to Nigeria, one we pray not to encounter again. Those who presently demonstrate resentments toward PMB are lap dogs to the past administration who would rather tow ethno-religious lines. |
lovaleenny:My Dear, please don't join the rainy season campaign. Unlike other seasons in the past, the rain is minimally low this year, particularly in a coastal area such as Lagos. I cannot recall the last time I experienced rainfall. It would be right if I say the rainy season so far has been the same all over. So what rainy season are we talking about ![]() Didn't we experience this same season under GEJ in abundance? Mizmycoli, pacifism is ideal and should be held in high regards, however, it is quite surprising you could not attempt tackle some of the OP's argument. Barcanista, the word 'retreat' exists for a reason. Gather more points, regroup and enlighten us on issues raised by the OP. Petty sentiments would us no good. Nairamaniac , bless you for the argument and humour.![]() ![]() |
gboss4sure:UrennaNkoli is right. rac·ism - /ˈrāˌsizəm/ noun 1. the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. There's a unconscious belief that whites are superior to us Nigerians (note: I did not say blacks). This is why Nigerians are good at staring at white folks in awe. It's not just a feeling of excitement, but that of awe, fascination and admiration. |
OtunbaJega:She's right. We're racist but not in the negative way. Nine out ten Nigerians would fix their eyes on an American, Asian or Briton who happen to walk past them. We're fascinated by their composition that it makes us wonder if they're dolls or humans like us .Racism is not only in abuse or hate. I think the proper perception of racism would be "pointing out that a fellow is not one of you" either in the positive or negative. |
INTROVERT:Exactly! There was a communicator by Nokia several years back. I even had one back then and it looks almost as the one in the picture the OP uploaded. Nokia and lack of ideas... Modified: Thought it was a new one. I for shock ![]() |
hardbody:Funny, I was about quoting you. Truth is, we're all different and our perception of life differs. Regardless, it would be right to say we're humans and we have the tendency to offend others. I used to live by a code; NEVER say "sorry". Whv? I wanted to be non-human; not to offend anyone. Hence, those who would hear that word from me are those who would value it. Little did I realize that it was mission impossible. I'm very quick to apologize so long I know my faults. Just about a month ago, some slighted me, it was real painful and annoying because I played the matured role even when the person in question seem older. Learning to let go of hurts and ills is the best way to live. Forgiveness is unique. We just have to learn to.. Afterall, life is very short. |
Some people within the business sphere though. Ojnnaco, some people can be thorns on your behind but that is not to say we should pay them in their own coin. It's never really about what the lady did for her in return. It's about you doing what is right, morally right. I forgive everyone who has offended me one way or another ![]() |
safarigirl:Lolz, I'm sorry Dear if at all contributing in discussions as this makes you uncomfortable. A typical me would never do so in eon years. Regardless, I have and I'm sorry if you seem disappointed. Nonetheless, since you failed to see the connotation in my post, let me make pop it open. "Biafra is an ideology designed for the Igbos by some Igbos. And I see no reason why the ideology should be tilted to accommodate or serve a personal cause." Whether the SS is in the east or not is not the problem. I'd rather prefer that the SE forever stays with Nigeria but if they get tired and has opted to leave, then so be it. Let them do so and not threaten the peace of others. Whether Anioma is hated by the Urhobos is not the issue, at least I know some Yorubas who avoid other Yorubas, largely because of some wicked stereotype. Biafra is an Igbo ideology, a good one, let the present brains behind it do so without threatening others. |
Parental consent is a must - Num 30:1-5. A man who houses a woman he did not seek her parent's consent is a thief, same as one who did not pay a girl's bride price before living with her. Such a man is a thief. |
henryskywalker2003:Oh my! ![]() |
henryskywalker2003: ![]() ![]() I'm really excited someone from the SE see things from a different viewpoint. I have many Igbo friends who hate the disintegration idea, as well as some who want it. Those who crave it do not realize there is a price to to pay. Well established Igbos in other parts of Nigeria may be indifferent about this. Why? Because they have things more valuable to protect than bitterness and hard heartedness. With all due respect, my level of admiration for most Igbos has reduced. Imagine being controlled and manipulated by one bean-headed serpent abroad. If indeed the struggle is genuine, why is he broadcasting from a foreign soil? I just pray that my Igbo cousins wise-up and realize that what is in play just the dream of one selfish I.diot who is after Government contracts. |
See beardy "Dayo" in that picture ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Tripleclick:You're not one to make us have a rethink into joining Biafra. What impact has Biafra had on its own soil that is worthy of note and mention? Biafra is promising, yet desperate Igbo youths are either sentenced to death in China, Singapore or Malaysia over drug peddling offences. Is it not rather ironic? Last I checked, Biafra is a dream specially crafted for the Igbos and those who buy into the dream. A son of the SS hanged on to power for 6 years yet could not transform the region. It is not the FG's problem. A son of the land misrepresented us even at the Federal level and then we blame Nigeria as a whole? Heads of militant groups enrich themselves with the people's supposed compensation and we blame the government? Hell no! We're responsible for our mishaps. This is a problem of mismanagement and not even Biafra can fix this! |
onenaira3:Ekpa wvo rvue! Omotete iruvwhe! Look for an Urhobo on the forum to help you transliterate that then take a break from the internet for the remainder of today. |
Tripleclick:Well done! Look through my post again or betterstill, ask any 'Igbo' person whose tribe is in the SS if they consider themselves as Igbos or not. I have them around me and some even take offence for referring to them as Igbos. That's not my headache, however. My main point is the sudden love of 'Biafrans' in the SS and its oil. Just so you know, the SS threw their weight behind Jonathan because he is one of them. They would have chosen carefully if one of their own was not involved. The SS does not harbour hate and bear no ill will against anyone compared to the SE. 'Our Oil' belongs to Nigeria and not Biafra and it will never be Biafra's property. Therefore if Biafra wants to disintegrate, let them do so without forming selfish alliance with the SS. Any part of the SS who wants to go with the SE should do so. SS stays with Nigeria. |
stevnwigw:Your oil in the SE and the SS? Indeed! |
winniz:Enough of this bull crap, abeg! I'm from the SS and I can categorically state that Igbo tribes in the SS has been and is still denying that they're not one and the same as Igbos in the SE. Problem with you guys is that you cannot fight your battles yourself and your unholy alliance with the SS is largely because of its oil. I reiterate for the umpteenth time, THE SS is NOT THE SAME AS THE SE! We're not the same and we'll never be. The bitterness of the Igbos recently is because of the huge miscalculation at the recent elections. If the Igbos want Biafra let them push for it without attaching themselves to the SS. Just like Etcetera wrote sometimes ago, the Igbo leadership is confused and lost. One minute you want Biafra, the next minute you decry being ignored. One instance you say Nigeria is a zoo, the next you travel all over the zoo, refusing to return to your Utopia to develop it. Please stop playing victim. You marginalized yourselves. The Arewa Forum, as big and as powerful as it is never threw its weight behind Buhari prior to the elections, at least they did not announce it publicly even if they supported him. Just yesterday, a stray bullet killed an innocent trader and some annoying folks came here wailing that Buhari is planning on killing Igbos on their turf, to the extent that the coward albino broadcasted that Igbos react. Question is, how many people has policemen 'mistakenly' killed in the South West since Jan? Enough of this Barcelona injury-feigning act of cowardice. SS know themselves, biko. |
no2fuks:I'm afraid you're wrong. The concept of uniqueness may be subjective, just as artistic may follow the same. About your bare hands, tell me, have tried any of our 'swallows' before? If at all you have or have seen people do so, would you say they're barbaric because they eat with their bare hands? Lizards are disgusting and irritating to behold in most part of Nigeria. Yet, it is a delicacy in most Asian countries. That I say it's 'barbaric' to eat may not necessarily be true since I was only able to judge from my viewpoint. |
fulanimafia:Their kindreds were probably in the Creeks fishing or going about their daily lives. Sir Ahmadu Bello in the 60's and now Islam and its agent are againt Western Education in the North. Please tell me, what has changed? |
abdulaz:Biko say what you know. How could you assert that Western education was taught through Arabic? 1. Were the Arabs considered "Western" in the first place? 2. Please relates with your history texts and indulge yourself. It would be better to consider the ways Arabs spread Islam and the ways Missionaries spread Christianity. 3. With your claim about "copying" from the Arabs, would you please highlight some of the things "Westerners" learnt from the Arabs which are still in existence today? |
no2fuks:In China, they still eat with chopsticks whereas other parts of the world eats with more sophisticated tools. Would you was China is backward then? It is high time we valued our cultures. |
TonySpike:Not really the practice. Itsekiri is greatly linked with the Yorubas. Though their way of life is not directly the same as the Yorubas but their language is embedded with Yoruba. When an Itsekiri person talks, you might get one or two things from what he says even without understanding their language. The condition is simple though; understand Yoruba. The Itsekiris are highly cultural, just like the ancient city of Ile-Ife. Simply put, the Itsekiri language has loads of diluted Yoruba language in it. |
searching4love:Girls aged 5, 7 and 12 died in an inferno and you let those silly words slip out of your hands? You sir, are stu.pid! |
ammyluv2002: ![]() ![]() ![]() The book is out of this world. I'll try to get you free download link. You and free things though ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Horlufemi:Indulge in the Scripture and focus on the Holyspirit. Also get "Tongues beyond the upper room" by Kenneth E. Hagin. Ammyluv2002 has given wonderful suggestions, it would be nice to follow them. |
olajide21:True, Coca-Cola can do the things you mentioned and governments cannot ban it because its ingredients, particularly Caramel (which is burnt during production process) and Caffeine are largely legal. Besides, the best drink for those who are sporty in nature is still Coca-Cola. |
