believer01: i am a regular member on nairaland and i create this user to remain anonymous. i need mature guys and ladies to advise me on a way forward. dont mind my grammar and typographical errors
i have been dating this guy since our 100level days in school, most people fear in school is that school relationships ends at the gate but our did'nt end at the gate. we went for youth service and still continue with our lovelife though the relationship was collapsing during service year but we built it up again and everything was okay after service. i happened to serve in his state and i was retained after service which makes us to start staying in the same town. In school all our focus was to finish school, serve and get a good job. marriage was not really discussed cos i was thinking it was too early and since we were doing fine for 7years i believe marriage is inevitable (i hope that word is correctly use). there is one thing i discovered after service 1. he is not ready to talk about marriage not because he is tired of me or anything (cos i know i am one of the best things that has happened to him) but cos he believe he must have millions of naira in his account. 2. he believes the tradition of not marrying early in his family could also delay his marriage even though i have met almost all his family members. 3. he brings up quarrel or another issue when i bring up visiting my family even though he has met them twice.
my questions: 1. should i wait till "forever" when he will be ready to discuss/ready for the marriage? 2. i love him but now i have offers from different guys and i know the offers won't last forever(i have turn down 2 already). should i stay and pray he comes to his senses or leave him? 3. we are so closed to each other and understand each other so well that it will be difficult to understand anyone else like that. 4. am not against him having millions of naira but "money is never enough" his friends that are not as okay as himself are getting married already. 5. am not trying to rush him into marriage but how am i to know i won't regret waiting until when he will be ready? what if he leaves me after the long wait?
7years relationship now. plssss no insult we all do crazy things for love but we learn everyday and i believe this forum will give me the candid answer i seek Sorry Dear, @ the bolded, it is not inevitable. It's a choice and this is why he has chosen not to talk about it. I think is all that is required here. If you don't agree with his dreams of making millions before marriage, then simply walk out, explain your reasons to him and move on. You of all persons know how old you are now and it would be unwise to keep mute just because he doesn't want it or want to talk about it. Besides, relationships are not cult that you cannot walk out of it willingly. Seven years and you're not trying to rush him? My dear, it's a relationship and not a degree programme. |

Aisha Buhari may be known as a woman full of grace, elegance and class. But beyond that what lies ahead are stark contradictions, confusion and uncertainty.
While the President’s body language and actions tackle luxurious lifestyles, his wife, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari and his fifth daughter, Zahra Buhari have chosen to tow a certain path that does not conform to the gospel of the modest President. https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Zahra4.png Zahra Buhari
In February, earlier this year, Zahra Buhari, the fifth daughter of President Buhari and Aisha Buhari was thrown into the spotlight for the wrong reasons following pictures of her in a supposed expensive clothing store abroad. Several other pictures of Zahra flooded social media websites and rather than for the right reasons, they contradicted the claims of his father, President Muhammadu Buhari who declared his assets in December 2014.
“I have at least one million naira in my bank, having paid N5.5 million to pick my form from my party. I have around 150 cattle because I am never comfortable without cows. I have a house each in Kaduna, Kano, and Daura which I borrowed money to build. I never had a foreign account since I finished my courses in the USA, India and the UK. I never owned any property outside Nigeria. Never.” – General Muhammadu Buhari (Dec. 2014) https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Zahra.png For the wrong reasons, Zahra Buhari’s luxurious taste revealed
Prior to his asset declaration in December, 2014, President Buhari wailed and showed his displeasure at the ‘expensive’ nomination form of his party which stood at 27.5 million naira. The President claimed he never had such ‘huge’ amount of money and would turn to purchase a bank loan.
“It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be put down as in the case of ladies and the disabled that intend to participate. I always looked left and right in our meetings but I could not read sympathy, so I kept my trap.
“But I felt heavily sorry for myself because I don’t want to go and ask somebody to pay for my nomination forms, because I always try to pay myself, at least for the nomination.
“N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have personal relationship with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and early this morning, I put an early call (and) I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it, otherwise I may lose the nomination.
“I was about to go to Kaduna this morning and I told the Chairman (John Odigie-Oyegun) but he said in that case, you better pick your form and keep a straight face. That means there is no excuse,” General Muhammadu Buhari (October, 2014)
In January 2015, it was discovered that Zahra Buhari is living and studying in the University of Surrey, UK, where her tuition and expenses are allegedly up to £30,000, approximately N8m annually. Why this is debatable, the pictures of Zahra could as well explain what seems amiss and could explain the luxury we know nothing about
In February, Aisha Buhari donated drugs worth N135m to the Internally Displaced Persons camps in Adamawa State. Although this is an act of generosity and great service to humanity, one must be recalled to see the irony in this. That Aisha could donate N135m a month after Muhammadu Buhari claimed he does not have N27m to purchase his nomination form is thought provoking. https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/PIC.8.-WIFE-OF-APC-PRESIDENTIAL-CANDIDATE-VISITS-IDPs-CAMP-IN-ADAMAWA.jpg (L), AISHA SYMPATHISING WITH IDPs NURSING MOTHER MRS SARAYA MARKUS (NAN)
Buhari have been touted severally to be a saint that cannot afford even a house. He claimed his houses were built with borrowed sums;
"I have a house each in Kaduna, Kano, and Daura which I borrowed money to build. I never had a foreign account since I finished my courses in the USA, India and the UK. I never owned any property outside Nigeria. Never.” – General Muhammadu Buhari (Dec. 2014)
Perhaps the President is too proud to share finance with his wife. One must quickly point that Aisha Buhari is a trained aesthetician. She obtained a diploma in Beauty Therapy from the Carlton Institute of Beauty Therapy, Windsor, United Kingdom and a certificate course from the French Beauty School, Esthetique Academie Dubai. With this in mind, Aisha’s Spa in Wuse 2, Abuja may not be enough to comfortably dish out N135m to charity save she also purchased a bank loan like Buhari.
https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Aisha2.jpg Aisha’s official portrait which was released on May 29, Nigeria’s inauguration has left thousands of Nigerians and the international community talking. With a seeming Cartier Baignoire Folle 18 carat White Gold Diamond ladies watch valued at 34,500 pounds (N10.4m) hanging on her wrist. It would be impossible to say the Buharis are indeed an average Nigerian family. https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Watch.jpg Cartier Baignoire Folle 18 carat White Gold Diamond
While Nigerians are earnestly waiting for the ‘Change’ they voted, hopes and dreams have been entrusted to the newly elected President. Again, Aisha Buhari has been the rave of the moment with the recent diamond watch scandal.
Whatever it is the Buharis are not telling Nigerians about their wealth, Nigerians would only assume that the present administration is not too far from proving to Nigerians that they have indeed been deceived yet again. Music/Radio › What Every Upcoming Act Must Know by Sanchez01(op): 1:03pm On Jun 02, 2015 |
Before you start dreaming of making those bucks and aspiring to go out into the spotlight, you must understand that music has a price. The icons and greats of the music world paid certain prices and you must understand that the standard has not fallen, neither has it reduced. Music is obviously challenging and it is not something to be rushed into. For upcoming acts who have dreamt of making it big in the overhauled music industry, here are a few tips to know:
Do NOT put money first: An average Nigerian artiste readily dreams of the spotlight before he heads to the studio to make his first recording. Just like every occupation, a proper set up is required before the money comes flowing in. The implication of putting money first could result to early frustration and bailing out easily. This has affected and ruined many potential ‘stars’ as they have been disappointed first hand. Some who were privileged to attend shows as ‘small’ as street “jamz” and street carnivals ended up killing their once promising career as they charged 30-50k. I could remember interviewing the late Da Gin (RIP) and he mentioned to me that he attended a lot of shows for free just because he needed to make himself known. Money is good and needed, but let it come later.
Create your target audience: Unfortunately, MOST artistes, upcoming and the established don’t have this. Music is much of a brand as well as an art, and as such, creating a target is paramount. The big questions one must ask before making any recording should be
Whom is this track/song/piece for? Who should listen to this and who should not? Why should they listen to this piece? And When should they listen to this piece? By putting these questions into consideration, you’re unconsciously building a target audience for each of your tracks. Don’t just walk into that booth because the beat seems nice.
Do a market survey of your genre: Don’t just take to the booth for singing sake. The need to do a survey of how marketable your genre would be is crucial. Sample the opinions of people around you, get that of people whom you’re not familiar with as well and do a background check on artistes who have walked that path. How did they fare? How are they faring? These two questions should be well analysed, lest you make a horrible mistake.
Strive to make your song timeless: Timelessness is critical to recording. I have heard several upcoming artistes tell me they stumbled on a song by ‘inspiration’. As much as inspiration is crucial to recording, critical thinking is also required to ‘cooking’ a hit. Inspiration will not cause your audience to listen to you. Hence, the need to put certain considerations into place. When recording avoid placing emphasis on trending words/slangs and beats/instrumentals breeding trending dance moves. The eventual implication for this would mean your song would fade even as the trend fades. The goal of every artiste is to leave an ever green that would speak for them even when they are no longer around.
Put your vocal strength to use: One annoying thing about some local artistes is that they lack vocal prowess, and as such, the need to pitch becomes “Mission Impossible III”. This best explains why some of them adopt ‘auto tune’ and heavy instrumentals. Songs should not be recorded in a hurry. If you lack strong vocals, suspend your recording, look for a vocal trainer who would help you hit the right notes and give more appeal to your piece.
Avoid using musical clichés: The saddest, most pitiable and most used lines of upcoming acts bothers on ‘Champagne’, ‘Bentley’, ‘Girls’, ‘Cash’, ‘Fresh’, ‘Balling’, etc. Nobody cares if you’re fresh, if you’re popping Champagne or if you have a Bentley. You want to become a star, do so without using repetitive lines and give us reasons to listen to your piece.
Put quality first, not quantity: I have seen and I know upcoming artistes who would prefer to spend 100k on 6 tracks (20k per track plus extra), than spend the same amount on one track and collect the ‘change’ left. What most upcoming acts do not understand is that your moment is not in the number of tracks you have recorded but the quality of your piece. Your goal as an upcoming act is to get a good producer, preferably a reputable one who is well versed in your chosen genre. While this is a good idea, remember that the more reputable they are, the more expensive they would be.
Keep your instrumentals simple and beatable: This is perhaps the greatest reason why Nigerian artistes don’t welcome live beats during shows. A typical Nigerian artiste will lip sync and walk to-and-fro the stage like an American charismatic pastor in church. Problem is, most artistes have no prior musical background other than “I started singing at the age nine in my father’s living room.” Perhaps our artistes, if not all, would struggle without going off-beat. Complicated beats may be impossible to put together during a live performance. Take note.
Humility is key: Last but not the least, the greatest gift any man can possess amidst fame and power is staying humble! I have lived to see several ‘bedroom super stars’ disgrace themselves and ‘ordinary’ people for one reason – I’m a star! Ordinarily, lyrics and good looks could cause you to rise to stardom but humility is a main ingredient to keeping you there. What you must understand is that stardom is a row call; today it belongs to you, another day it belongs to that hustler trying to get his songs on the radio. This is perhaps the reason artistes are long forgotten when they fall off from stardom. Some go as far as isolating themselves from long term friends, partners and other upcoming acts. Remember, today’s rag was yesterday’s best attire. Source: http://www.fctpost.com/2015/06/02/what-every-upcoming-act-must-know/ |

ojimbo: na so talk cheap Let's make it easy. You see, the Bible reasonably skipped some parts of the Scripture, largely because they are inconsequential to the Scriptures cum subject matter at hand. It would be right to say Noah employed labourers and that the ark must have taken well over a hundred years to set up. Unfortunately, the labourers and other members of the city thought Noah was a psychopath. Again, realize that "Nephilim" were on earth in those days (Nephilim refer to the offsprings of the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" - Giants!) -Gen 6:4; Num 13:33. It was said that the Nephilim even assisted in building the ark but since it was not recorded we can conclude that it is only an assumption. People in the days of Noah lived extremely long and remained active and strong even with the scary numbers. Believe me, the difference between Gen 1 to Gen 2 is about 200 years. Details considered irrelevant were skipped. NOTE: "Sons of God" are popularly known as "Angels"; daughters of men are "women, ladies/virgins. - Gen 6:4. |

dhope: am confused if it is a sin or not to eat meat of animal whose blood was nt made to flow out when it was killed. i understand we are no more under d boundage of law as dis is era of grace where what goes into our body doesnt make us unclean but what comes out of our mind and body. but can we say it doesnt matter to eat such meat since christ also confirmed it dt he didnt come to scrap d law. pls i need ur contribution. This is a very sensitive one. It all depends but I believe it's "unfair" to feast on an animal whose blood was not made to flow. The implication of this is that you either strangled such animal, poisoned such animal or that you decided to feast on the creature after it had long died. The initial two is totally uncool and cruel. For a sensitive person like me, I'd not eat such because the death was not borne from the conventional way, which is by knife. The last is totally worse, eating an already dead animal is dangerous to one's health and considered a great risk as the "eater" may not ascertain the cause of the creature's death. |

ojimbo: "You know what is hilarious? That Noah was the only person on the planet who had a boat of any size." Sorry to say you're a bit ignorant. Noah's ark was not just "any size." The Design of the Ark
A. The Designer was God Himself. We do not need to assume Noah knew anything about ship-building. The instructions for design are given in Gen. 6:14ff.
B. Construction Materials
The Bible says the Ark was to be built of "gopher wood". "Gopher" is the actual Hebrew word. In early English translations the meaning of the word was unknown so it was left untranslated. The NIV translates it "cypress wood", however, this is only a guess. It was undoubtedly translated this way due to the fact that cypress wood is highly resistant to rot. What this material was is still a mystery. It could have been a pre-flood wood with which we are not familiar.
It is almost certain that Noah did not construct a standard wooden ship of the kind we are familiar. According to nautical engineers the longest wooden vessel ever built was 360 feet in length and was not seaworthy. Because of the wave action of the sea only wooden ships shorter than this will be seaworthy. Therefore, we must conclude that Noah used some other method of construction to overcome this problem.
C. The Design.
1. The Biblical word for Ark is "tebah". It is used 28 times in the OT and is only used of Noah's Ark and for the container in which Moses was hidden among the bulrushes. Because of a similar Egyptian word meaning "box", and the ultimate purpose of the Ark, we believe the Ark was not like a streamlined vessel designed to easily glide through the water. More likely it was shaped like a rectangular barge which floated rather low in the water. From the story in the Bible, it also would appear that Noah had no control over the vessel. He, and it contents were at the total mercy of God.
2. The Ark had three stories with only one door. The phrase in Gen. 6:16, "Make a roof for it and finish the Ark to within 18 inches of the top." is problematic in that the words used are obscure. Most commentators believe it means leave an 18 inch space at the top that is open all around the vessel. This then would be for ventilation, and when water entered it would drain out somewhere below, similar to the vents in cars.
3. The Ark was to be coated inside and out with pitch.
Again the Hebrew word for "pitch" is obscure. It was more likely some resinous material used not only to waterproof the vessel but also to prevent decay. If Noah was 480 years old when God told him to build an Ark and 600 when the Flood came, it is reasonable to assume that the construction of the Ark took place during this 120 year period (See Gen. 6:3 along with I Pet. 3:20). The need for this preservative was essential. It is also possible that things did not decay as rapidly in the pre-flood atmosphere.
4. The phrase in the NIV (6:14) "make rooms" is also problematic in that the word is obscure. The Hebrew is "qnm". Since Hebrew did not have any vowels when it was written, scholars speculate that the word could be either "qinnim" or "qanim". The former would mean either "rooms" or "nest", and the later, "reeds". Most English translations translate as in the former. However, some of the better and more recent commentaries, believe it should be translated "reeds" since the context is building materials. If in reality it is "reeds", then somehow reeds were part of the construction material. Large boats are still made from reeds and are very seaworthy. The Egyptians still use reeds for caulking their wooden ships.
III. The Size of the Ark
(When considering its size it obviously was not the backyard effort of a primitive river-dweller!)
A. It is given in cubits as being 300 cubits long by 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high. A cubit in the OT was generally about 17.5 inches. However, an Egyptian royal cubit measured about 20.5 inches. Since Moses was educated in Egypt we must allow for the possibility that the longer measurement was meant here. The Ark, therefore, could have measured from 437 feet to 512 feet in length! It was not until the late 19th century that a ship anywhere near this size was built.
B. It's Ratio
The Ark had a ratio (length x width x height) of 30 x 5 x 3. According to ship-builders, this ratio represents an advanced knowledge of ship-building since it is the optimum design for stability in rough seas. The Ark, as designed by God, was virtually impossible to capsize! It would have to have been tilted over 90 degrees in order to capsize.
C. Its Volume.
With the shorter cubit the Ark would have an internal volume of 1,518,750 cubic feet, or the equivalent of 569 standard railroad boxcars. If the average sized animal was the size of a sheep it means the Ark could hold over 125,000 sheep. (Assuming the shape of the Ark to be rectangular there would have been over 100,000 sq. ft of floor space!) I needed to put the bolded that way to establish the fact that it is not just any boat. |
Politics › IG Warns Policemen Engaging In Domestic Chores For Principals by Sanchez01(op): 12:56am On May 22, 2015 |
https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/police.jpg The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has warned security details attached to government officials against engaging in as domestic chores for their principals. Arase gave the warning at an interactive session with police inspectors and other rank and file personnel selected from commands nationwide at the Police Headquarters in Abuja. He advised the cadre to respect themselves and the Nigeria Police Force by not engaging in menial jobs for their principals. “I have directed the commissioner of police in-charge of the airports that if they find any of you carrying boxes (of VIPs) and rifles, and dragging them all over the place, they should arrest you and you will be punished.’’ Arase said henceforth only government officials would enjoy police protection.
“Those of you who are posted to VIPs, on no account should you carry their bags and on no account should you act as domestic servants to them. “You are police officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and they must respect you as such. “Your uniform must be respected, anybody who wants to hire a domestic help should not use our policemen who are sent to protect them as domestic help,’’ he said.
Arase said the interacting was organized to enable the personnel to interface with the management team for better working relations as well as to enable them to table their problems. He used the occasion to intimate them of the vision of the police under his leadership, including the war against corruption and enforcement of the ban on roadblocks. He assured them that their welfare would be given priority attention as a way of encouraging them to discharge their duties effectively.
Arase further promised that the police had concluded plans to provide them affordable accommodation through the police mortgage and cooperative at not more than N3.5 million. He said that after the inauguration the new government on May 29, a number of policemen would proceed on training preparatory to the promotion. However, the IG said that the welfare of police personnel would be based on good conduct and hard work.
“Your professional conduct is going to mean so much to the current administration in the police,’’ he said. He warned them against disobeying traffic rules, saying: “If you are going to enforce the law, you must obey the law before you start enforcing the law.’’ Commenting on the indiscriminate use of siren, the Arase directed policemen in the field to arrest those not authorized to use siren.
“Anywhere you are doing your duty and found those not authorized using the siren; I am giving authority for you to arrest them. “You must not hold horsewhips or sticks to assault anybody on the highways,’’ he said. Addressing the personnel, the Deputy Inspector-General In-charge of Finance/Administration, Mr Hilary Opara, said more than 35,000 of officers in the rank and file cadre would be promoted. South African President, Jacob Zuma, on Thursday in Maputo apologised to Mozambique for the recent xenophobic attacks against foreigners living in South Africa, in which three Mozambicans died.
Mr. Zuma, who was on a two-day state visit to Mozambique, said such acts had no justification, taking into consideration the brotherhood ties between the people of the two nations.
He said from all indications the attacks were committed by a minority group that does not represent the whole South Africa.
“It is important for us to apologise for the acts of a small minority of South Africans which does not represent the desire of South African people,” Mr. Zuma said. “We have good relations with a number of countries, including Mozambique, and we never had problems.”
Oldemiro Baloi, Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, said during the talks between Mr. Zuma and Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, both countries agreed to reinforce and improve the implementation of agreements so far signed.
He said both leaders went through the latest events that mark both nations, among them, xenophobia and deportation, and they concluded that they must improve communication so that such acts are reduced to the lowest incidents as possible.
Mr. Baloi said the two countries also talked about the political and economic situation between the two nations, as well as their presence in the Southern Africa Development Community.
The Minister said his president has accepted an invitation for a state visit to South Africa, issued by Mr. Zuma during the talks.
He said during his stay, Mr. Zuma would also address the Mozambican Parliament, the Assembly of the Republic.
Mr. Zuma had lived in Mozambique during the struggle against the South African Apartheid regime, until its independence in 1994.

https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Aruna-1024x768.jpg Aruna at 25 A Mumbai nurse who was in a vegetative state for 42 years after being sexually assaulted while working in a hospital has died, authorities said Monday.
Aruna Shanbaug, 67, suffered severe brain damage when she was sodomized and strangled with a metal chain by a hospital worker in 1973. The man, a ward attendant, left her to die in the hospital’s basement, where she was found 11 hours later. She was 25 years old at the time.
Shanbaug was diagnosed with pneumonia last week and was on a life support system for the past few days, said Pravin Bangar, medical superintendent at Mumbai’s King Edward Memorial Hospital.
Shanbaug’s case sparked a debate over India’s euthanasia laws after a Mumbai-based author and friend of the nurse petitioned the courts to stop force-feeding her through a tube so her suffering would not be prolonged. https://www.fctpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Aruna-2-1024x768.jpg Aruna 42 years after India’s Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by Pinki Virani, who had sought euthanasia for Shanbaug, saying the court should “end her unbearable agony.”
The petition was opposed by nurses at the hospital, who took turns caring for her for more than four decades after Shanbaug’s family said they were unable to support her.
The attacker was released after serving a 7-year jail term.
Sexual violence is pervasive in India, and several high-profile cases of brutal gang rapes have brought the issue to the forefront of public debate.
A nun in her 70s was gang-raped by a group of men in the eastern state of West Bengal in March, leading to an outcry from the minority Christian community.
The rapes have sparked mass protests in the name of justice and accountability for sexual attackers, and better safety conditions for women in India. Source: http://www.fctpost.com/2015/05/18/indian-nurse-dies-42-years-after-rape/ |

Regardless, the rift between Amaechi, Jang and Jonathan caused some section of PDP governors to form the defunct nPDP before some of them permanently moved to the APC. |

jmoore: Amaechi joined APC, Nov 2013. He is less than three years in APC. Therefore no role for him, huh? I'd want to believe the defectors here are not the ones who have done so in the past but those who did on the ground that the APC won the Presidential election. Amaechi has been a thorn in Jonathan's flesh ever since he defected and he's one of those who brought the outgoing president down. |
Health › High Salt Intake May Reduce Puberty by Sanchez01(op): 9:03am On May 18, 2015 |

Researchers from University of Wyoming, USA led by Ms Dori Pitynski are investigating the effect of varying levels of dietary salt on the onset of puberty in rats. They found that rats fed a high salt diet (equivalent to 3 or 4 times the recommended daily allowance for humans) had a significant delay in reaching puberty compared to those fed a normal (low) salt diet. Interestingly, rats that had salt completely excluded from their diet also had delayed puberty.
Ms Pitynski and colleagues concluded that salt intake is necessary for onset of puberty but that excesses can affect reproductive health. Late onset of puberty can lead to behavioural problems, stress and reduced fertility.
To date, while work has been done on the effect of varying levels of dietary fats on puberty, nobody has yet looked at the effect of dietary salts. “Our work shows that high levels of fat and salt have opposite effects reproductive health” said Ms Pitynski. “High fat diet is thought to accelerate the onset of puberty but our work demonstrates that rats fed a high salt diet even with a high fat diet will still show a delay in puberty onset.”
Ms Pitynski, “our research highlights for the first time that the salt content of a diet has a more significant effect on reproductive health than the fat content.”
Recent guidelines from WHO state that populations around the world are consuming much more salt than is physiologically necessary, and certainly more that the WHO recommended daily allowance of 5 g of salt per day for adults.
Sodium is found naturally in a variety of foods, including milk, cream and eggs. It is also found, in much higher amounts, in processed foods, such as bread, processed meats like bacon, snack foods as well as in condiments such as soy sauce and stock cubes; which are becoming more prevalent in the Western diet. “Current salt-loading in Western populations has the potential to drastically affect reproductive health, and warrants further attention” said Ms Pitynski. The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Dr. Stephen Mamza, on Sunday advised President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to consider only founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for appointment in his cabinet.
In his sermon at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church Bekaji, Yola, Mamza warned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would sabotage Buhari’s government if they get appointments and could compromise his intending hard works towards a better Nigeria.
He said: “My special advice to the President-elect is that he should not give appointment to anyone that is less than three years in APC.
“This will help him to build a government that is based on the APC agenda, but if he makes the mistake of mixing his government with the PDP members who are in APC for appointments, he would disappoint those that elected him.
“If these PDP members that are running to APC are principled people, and they love democracy, they will remain in PDP and rebrand the party for the next elections. But rushing to APC confirmed that they are only in politics for their selfish interest and not for the development of the country”.
According to him, PDP members betrayed their party by defecting, describing it as “a sign of what they may do to the APC.
“I respect those PDP members that are still in PDP, they are the true democrat of this country”. Source: http://www.fctpost.com/2015/05/18/do-not-appoint-defectors-cleric-warns-buhari/ |

This is sickening. Terribly sickening. So Aisha and GMB should cut off their hands or pocket it because they're not supposed to shake the opposite sex? A section of unmarried Muslim guys and girls engage in pre-marital sex and such would come out and say "my religion does not permit me to shake a guy/girl?"
Apologies to the Muslim folks but you people should learn to leave God to be the judge of things. "IF" He indeed made the rule/law, then let Him "kill" or punish those involved rather than do it for Him. |

Ishilove, I think the charm mentioned in your post and the charm coupled with charisma are simultaneously used by present "Jesu Oyingbos" around. Of course, Nigerians are gullible and are easily deceived. An average Nigerian woman revers her pastor/prophet more than her husband and some of them see pastors to be God or a god. Gullibility+Charisma+Grace+"Jazz" walk hand in hand.
By the way, you did not mention the year of his death in your post. Could you please give the info? |

Politics › Boko Haram Recaptures Key Town In North East by Sanchez01(op): 2:25pm On May 16, 2015 |
Maiduguri (Nigeria) – Boko Haram Islamists have recaptured the strategic town of Marte in north eastern Nigeria’s restive Borno state, a regional official said early on Saturday.
“It is sad as we have been made to understand that Marte has today completely fallen under the control of the insurgents, which to us is a very huge setback,” said Mustapha Zannah, vice governor of the Borno state.
The town, located along a strategic trading route between Nigeria and neighbouring Cameroon and Chad, has traded hands between the jihadists and government troops numerous times since 2013.
A regional military coalition of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon has claimed a series of major victories against Boko Haram since launching sweeping offensives against the jihadists in February.
But the Islamist fighters, who recently pledged allegiance to the Islamic State extremists who have captured swathes of Iraq and Syria, have been pushing back.
The jihadists killed at least 55 people in two raids on villages near Maiduguri, the first assault on the northern city in three months.
“Even if 90 percent of our communities have been liberated, the war is not yet over,” Zannah cautioned early on Saturday.

stola, bless you! You projected my thoughts and saved me the trouble. To add to your assertion, it would be right to say the Igbos are disjointed and most within its fold could sell out one of their own. Igbos are full blooded Nigerians. I would trust them over an Urhobo or Ijaw man at the presidency to perform better but an area of concern is the desire for a divided Nigeria, and until this aspect is resolved, it might be difficult for other tribes to trust them wholly. I would trust Rochas any moment . |

StOla: You have just been offered for free the best advice money can buy, but with the typical Igbo arrogance and stupidity, you beat your over-battered chest and claim supremacy.
You can't continue to despise 2 of the 3 biggest tribes in Nigeria and hope they will run after the great Igbo with the presidency.
Tinubu has said worse about Buhari in the Past, Amaechi has said worse about the broom party in the past, El Rufai has said worse about Atiku in the past. Yet, they know they need each other, and would readily let go of old and useless grievances to achieve their respective goals.
El Rufai was the Abuja Minister and kitchen cabinet member of the Obasanjo regime who frustrated Atiku when he decamped as VP to the party AC, from where he equally frustrated Obasanjo's 3rd term ambition.
Amaechi once referred to the broom party (ACN) as people who go about with broom yet they've left their houses unkempt.
With Political Humility, a once fiery Tinubu sought Obasanjo's support for his party. He bowed to Buhari, yet was the one who stood firm while Atiku tried to buy the APC's presidential ticket.
Amaechi was seen driving Elrufai with his own personal car.
El Rufai was seen stooping to the ground, discussing with Bisi Akande, the founding Chairman of APC.
All the examples above typify the intricate virtue of political humility among erstwhile political enemies.
When the Igbos have learnt to behave in a way that is nationally lovable, and display political maturity, I will proudly vote for an Igbo as President of a Nigeria they love and not hate. |
