Soloter:I never mention that the sacks would "stop" his probe. Probably the idea that the sacks would cover his tracks. |
raumdeuter:Your post challenges my curiosity. You think 'retaliating' at this time would do him any better? |
The outgoing President has claimed he is not afraid to be probed but his actions speak otherwise. The President has been on what seems a sacking spree and reasons behind some of actions were never made known. Is the President really saying the truth or he thinks the sacks would cover his "tracks"? |
Paulpaulpaul:I'm sure he meant NCE. |
chemystery: Funny, speaking in other tongues is NOT a heavenly language and it would be right for us to say the Devil understands languages of "other tongues", other than the English Language. You see, when a man manifests this gift, he possesses the ability to speak in another language without prior knowledge or mastery of the language. Eg, a Yoruba man could speak in Igbo as "other tongues". Note that the Devil can raise suggestions in the heart of an Igbo man with the very language the Igbo man speaks. What you are mixing up is simple and most people hardly notice them because it is often believed that they're one and the same. They are; 1. Praying in tongues: When I pray in tongues, I need no interpreter to make this stand because it is prayer; personal between God and I. Therefore, God understands the language I pray in at that point even when I don't understand it. So, since it's personal, it needs no interpretation. 2. Speaking in tongues: This is often confused with #1 above. To speak in tongues means to manifest in unknown (to you) tongues in public while people are somewhat attentive to the utterances coming out. This was why Apostle Paul mentioned in I Cor 4:27-28. Whoever decides or is led to speak in other tongues should keep quiet in the absence of someone who possesses the gift of interpretation of tongues. Reason for this is that such a person would edify himself/herself but would not be of any benefit to the church since there's no one to interpret what has been said. People in church hardly speak in tongues today. What they do is PRAY in other tongues. But unfortunately, most pastors can't tell the difference between the two and their members are meant to pay since they don't know which is which. |
baybeeboi:All Angels are not Arch-Angels. There are thousands of Angels but only 7 Arch-Angels. |
7. Raguel: Meaning - "Friend of God" Also known: Akrasiel Raguil Rasuil Rufael Suryan Referred to as the Archangel of Justice and Fairness, Raguel oversees all the other Archangels and Angels. He watches over them to make sure they’re working well together in a harmonious and orderly fashion according to Divine order and will. Raguel is the Archangel for the underdog. Call on him for help when you need to be empowered and respected. He helps to resolve arguments, helps with cooperation and leads to harmony in groups and families. Raguel defends the unfairly treated, and provides support with mediation of disputes. In the Revelation of John, Raguel is referred to as an assistant to God in the following account: "Then shall He send the Angel Raguel, saying: Go and sound the trumpet for the Angels of cold and snow and ice, and bring together every kind of wrath upon them that stand on the left." Despite his exalted position, for some unexplained reason Raguel was reprobated in 745 A.D. by the Roman church (along with some other high-level Angels, including Uriel). At this time Pope Zachary described Raguel as a demon who "passed himself off as a saint". For more reads: http://www.angelfocus.com/archangels.htm http://www.angelsbysharae.com/ArchangelsList.html http://angels.about.com/od/AngelBasics/f/Who-Are-Archangels.htm NOTE: By saying "we're to call on them" means we recognize that we have them at our disposal and rather than disturb Christ with little petitions, Angels, be it arch or the regular, are always there to make things work out. However, there's a VERY thin line between calling on them and 'deitifying' them which makes it a bit risky for someone who does not understand how to go about it. |
6. Jophiel: Meaning - "Beauty of God" Also known: Iofiel Iophiel Jofiel Zophiel Jophiel was the Angel present in the Garden of Eden and later watched over Noah’s sons. The Archangel of art and beauty, he is the patron of artists, helping with artistic projects, thinking beautiful thoughts, to see and appreciate beauty around us. Helping to create beauty at home and at work, Jophiel is the Archangel for interior decorators. He illuminates our creative spark by giving us ideas and energy to carry out artistic ventures. He also helps us to see the beauty in all things, including people. As well as helping our creativity, Jophiel helps us to slow down and smell the roses. Call on him if you need joy and laughter in your life or if you feel you’ve lost the light in your life. He will also help if your soul is sleeping and needs awakening and if you wish to awaken a deeper understanding of who you are and seeking a connection with the higher self, so that you may take your first steps along your spiritual pathway. You know Jophiel is at work if you are searching for answers to the questions in your life and wish the greater wisdom to be revealed to you, and all of a sudden you experience flashes of insight in which everything suddenly becomes clear. |
5. Chamuel: Meaning - "He who sees God", "He who seeks God" Also known: Camael Camiel Camiul Camniel Cancel Jahoel Kemuel Khamael Seraphiel Shemue The Archangel of pure love, Chamuel can lift you from the depths of sorrow and find love in your heart. Chamuel helps us to renew and improve existing relationships as well as finding our soul mates. He works with us to build strong foundations for our relationships (as well as careers) so they're long-lasting, meaningful and healthy. You'll know he's with you when you feel butterflies in your stomach and a pleasant tingling in your body. If there's a breakdown of your relationship, if you cling to your relationships and don't allow your companion the freedom to be able to express themselves freely, call on Chamuel for guidance and support. The other areas you can Chamuel can help is if you need to strengthen a parent-child bond, if you're unable to feel love for yourself or others, if your heart has hardened and is full of negative emotions, if you have lost someone close through death or separation, if you and your children have experienced a divorce, if your heart is blocked with depression, hopelessness and despair, if you feel lonely and broken hearted, if you need to be loved, if you are judgmental and cynical or if you don't appreciate the love that you have in your life. Chamuel can also help with world peace, career, life purpose and finding lost items. |
4. Uriel: Meaning - "God is light", "God's light", Fire of God" Uriel is considered one of the wisest Archangels because of his intellectual information, practical solutions and creative insight, but he is very subtle. You may not even realize he has answered your prayer until you've suddenly come up with a brilliant new idea. Uriel warned Noah of the impending flood, helped the prophet Ezra to interpret mystical predictions about the coming Messiah and delivered the Cabal to humankind. He also brought the knowledge and practice of alchemy and the ability to manifest from thin air, as well as illuminates situations and gives prophetic information and warnings. All this considered, Uriel's area of expertise is divine magic, problem solving, spiritual understanding, studies, alchemy, weather, earth changes and writing. Considered to be the Archangel who helps with earthquakes, floods, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, natural disaster and earth changes, call on Uriel to avert such events or to heal and recover in their aftermath In the eighth century, the Christian Church became alarmed at the rampant and excessive zeal with which many of the faithful were revering Angels. For some unknown reason, in 145 A.D. under Pope Zachary, a Roman council ordered seven Angels removed from the ranks of the Church’s recognized Angels, one of them being Uriel. |
3. Gabriel: Meaning - "Strength of God"; "The Divine is my strength"; "God is my strength" Also known: Abruel Jibril Jiburili Serafili The only Archangel depicted as female in art and literature, Gabriel is known as the "messenger" Angel and is one of the four Archangels named in Hebrew tradition and is considered one of the two highest-ranking Angels in Judeo-Christian and Islamic religious lore. Apart from Michael, she is the only Angel mentioned by name in the Old Testament. She is a powerful and strong Archangel, and those who call upon her will find themselves pushed into action that leads to beneficial results. Gabriel can bring messages to you just as she did to Elizabeth and Mary of the impending births of their sons, John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth. If you are considering starting a family, Gabriel helps hopeful parents with conception or through the process of adopting a child. Contact Gabriel if your third eye is closed and your spiritual vision is therefore blocked. If you wish to receive visions of Angelic guidance regarding the direction you are going in. If you wish to receive prophecies of the changes ahead. If you need help in interpreting your dreams and vision. Gabriel helps anyone whose life purpose involves the arts or communication. She acts as a coach, inspiring and motivating artists, journalist and communicators and helping them to overcome fear and procrastination. Gabriel also helps us to find our true calling. Ask for Gabriel's guidance if you have strayed from your soul's pathway, if you wish to understand your life plan and purpose. She can also help if you can find no reason for being or if changes are ahead and you need guidance. If you are contemplating a house move, major purchase or thinking of changing careers. Call Gabriel if your body is full of toxins and needs purifying and if your thoughts are impure or negative and need clearing and cleansing. Gabriel is also very helpful for women who have been raped or sexually assaulted and feel dirty as well as being under psychic attack or if you feel that you have absorbed someone else's problems. |
2. Raphael: Meaning - "Healing power of God", "The Divine has healed", "God heals" Also known: Labbiel Hebrew word rapha means "doctor" or "healer". Raphael is a powerful healer and assists with all forms of healing - humans and animals. He helps to rapidly heal body, mind and spirit if called upon, as in the biblical story of Abraham and the pain he felt after being circumcised as an adult. You may call upon Raphael in behalf of someone else, but he can't interfere with that person's free will. If they refuse spiritual treatment, it can't be forced. The chummiest and funniest of all Angels, Raphael is often pictured chatting merrily with mortal beings. He's very sweet, loving, kind and gentle and you know that he's around when you see sparkles or flashes of green light. Part of Raphael's healing work involves spirit releasing and space clearing. He often works with Michael to exorcise discarnate entities and escort away lower energies from people and places. As well as a healer, Raphael is known as the "Patron of Travelers" because of his help with Tobias and his travels. Call upon Raphael when you are traveling, to assure safe travel. In addition, he assures that all your transportation, lodging and luggage details go miraculously well. Raphael also helps with inward spiritual journeys, assisting in searches for truth and guidance. Raphael taught Tobias how to make balms and ointments from a fish which cured Tobias' father blindness. Raphael can be called upon to help healers such as doctors, therapist and surgeons. Call on Raphael if you're a student entering the healing field and you're looking for the right school and/or are in need of help with studies, as well as getting the time and money for school. He also assists with establishing healing practices when your schooling is finished. Raphael not only helps you to heal from physical, emotional and mental pain, he also heals wounds from past lives. Other areas Raphael helps with is finding lost pets, reducing and eliminating addictions and cravings, clairvoyance, bringing unity to your life, if you feel out of touch with your spirituality, if you've lost a partner and/or your soul/body doesn't feel "whole". |
Archangels are the highest-ranking angels in heaven. God gives them the most important responsibilities, and they do their work both in the heavenly dimension and in the earthly one. The word “archangel” is from the Greek words “arche” (ruler) and “angelos” (messenger), signifying archangels’ dual duties. Archangels rule over the universe’s daily operation on missions from God, while also delivering messages from God to human beings. They're 7 in number and were repeatedly mentioned in Revelations; "I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God’s wrath is completed. " - Rev 15:1. "And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them." - Rev 8:2. Arch-Angels can be put to use by people but overtime, limited knowledge of these Spirit beings have caused Christians to talk less of them. THE ARCH-ANGELS, NATURE and ROLES EXPLAINED 1. Michael : Meaning - "Who is like God", "Like unto God", "Who is like the Divine" (Also known) Beshter Mika'il Sabbathiel The first Angel created by God, Michael is the leader of all the Archangels and is in charge of protection, courage, strength, truth and integrity. Michael protects us physically, emotionally and psychically. He also oversees the lightworker's life purpose. His chief function is to rid the earth and its inhabitants of the toxins associated with fear. Michael carries a flaming sword that he uses to cut through etheric cords and protects us from Satan and negative entities. When he's around you may see sparkles or flashes of bright blue or purple light. Call on Michael if you find yourself under psychic attack or if you feel you lack commitment, motivation and dedication to your beliefs, courage, direction, energy, vitality, self-esteem, worthiness. Michael helps us to realize our life's purpose and he's invaluable to lightworkers helping with protection, space clearing and spirit releasement. Michael conquered the fallen Angel Satan, was in the Garden of Eden to teach Adam how to farm and care for his family, spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai and in 1950 he was canonized as Saint Michael, "the patron of Police Officers," because he helps with heroic deeds and bravery. Michael also has an incredible knack for fixing electrical and mechanical devices, including computers and automobiles. If your automobile breaks down, call on Michael. Michael helps us to follow our truth without compromising our integrity and helps us to find our true natures and to be faithful to who we really are. Other times when you may find Michael helpful is when your job is too demanding with impossible deadlines to reach, when you have an addiction, if you're very ill and suffering from a degenerative disease or terminal illness and when you suffer from nightmares. |
Emteebee:Unfortunately, most of you only see the words in the Bible without understanding them. You were so swift in pointing to the core aspects of the manifestations of Law without verifying whom they were meant for. Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are the main carriers of the commandments of Law during Moses' era. And since Moses represented the Law, the people were handed some laws to guide and lead them aright. The passages you mentioned DO NOT refer to unbelievers but believers, the Chosen of God (Israelites). While Christ came with the message of Grace, the many punishments for sins were neglected because Christ made them irrelevant. As Christians, we don't use the aforementioned books as a standard because it WAS designed and laid down for the then people of Israel whom God delivered from Egypt. Christ is our standard and you would never read or find Christ asking His followers to behead, kill or maim anyone who refuses to acknowledge Him as the Son of God. Christ is the standard of every Christian. Moses was only a vessel used by God and the Laws were only applicable to the Israel of then. |
Nothing seems to be new here, judging by your post. I'd recommend that you make a resolve within your heart. Sometimes, we may claim we're tired of our old ways but may never be ready to forsake them. Indulge your mind with The Word; study more, listen to Christian Messages and heart lifting songs. Since you're in the US, I'd recommend you listen to sermons from Kenneth E.Hagin (late) and Dr. Myles Munroe (late). Try reading "The Glory of Living" by the latter and be mindful of being alone for now. I pray you find strength. |
The app is indeed like a bookmark. SuperSuave, your suggestions are wonderful and shuld be considered by Seun but I think the picture notification is not needed in any way. It's a FORUM, not a SOCIAL MEDIUM. |
OLAADEGBU:Some pastor claim there's nothing like the Trinity; 1. The Father, 2. Son, and 3. The Holy Ghost. Some believe #1 and #2 only, some others believe only #1 while some believe only #2. I'll soon be engaging a pastor whose church believes only the #2. I pray I share some things about this when I'm through. |
Ifeann:My Dear, I read the Bible to understand what seems a mystery to an average Christian. That's to say "I study to show myself approved". About my quote on Islam and Christianity and God being the judge, you should understand that it would be unfair to our Muslim brethrens when we claim ours is the only one recognized by God. Again, let God be the judge. While growing up, I have read several topical debates between Christian and Islamic scholars and what was my summation: both set out to outdo each other. Where's the tolerance Christ preached in Luke 6:29? I'm ignorant about the teachings of Islams and I have chosen to be because it is not the great commission Christ mandated. Yes, Islamic extremists are killing Christians and other "Infidels" but have you ever thought what Christ would have done if He is here like He did with His disciples? Did Christ attack His captors when he was near cruxification? What was His response when one of His disciple cut off the ear of one of his captor? "50. And one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear. 51. But Jesus answered and said, "Stop! No more of this." And He touched his ear and healed him. 52. Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him, "Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a robber?" - Luke 22:51. He's telling you the same today; "No more of this!" |

Ifeann:I don't go beyond the Bible and I'm not interested in what the Hadith says about the Islamic deity. The same should be said about every Christian because we do not strive to prove that Christ is "better". Again, provoking people of their faith is uncalled for. I see no reason why we should taunt another religion simply because they're not within our fold. That Islam or Christianity is the ONE remains with God, not us. I am not perfect and sometimes the discussion may get heated by I refrain from insults..u won't see my insult them back..and if I ever in my fallible human nature did, then I am sorry for that. There's thin line between religion and fanatism and religious "arguments" most end up with insults and hates. Reason for this is simple, those involved often tend to exhibit religion superiority over the other. However, U said Christ won't confront other religions on their falsehood, I beg to differ. Infact I will provide quotes of what Christ had to say about the pharisees (false teachers) who later called for his death. No, I did not say Christ "won't" confront other religions. I said HE NEVER DID. You need to understand who the Pharisees are. They shared the same line of thought cum belief with Christ. The problem was that they perverted their teachings and ways and preferred hypocrisy to the real deal. THE PHARISEES WERE NOT FROM "OTHER" RELIGION. They knew God but sought to pervert their teachings. This made them earn the name "false teachers". And this best explained why they were easily angered by the teachings of Christ who revealed the truth they had neglected and later sought to destroy him. 1.They taught about God but did not love God — they did not enter the kingdom of heaventhemselves, nor did they let others enter. ( Matt 23:13-14)The Pharisees were being referred to here, not Muslims. 2.They preached God but converted people to dead religion, thus making those convertstwice as much sons of hell as they themselves were. ( Matt 23:15)There's an eternal debate about Allah not being or being God. I don't want to dwell on this but Christ was obviously not referring to Muslims but the Pharisees and the Sadducees. 3.They taught that an oath sworn by the temple or altar was not binding, but that if sworn by the gold ornamentation of the temple, or by a sacrificial gift on the altar, itwasbinding. The gold and gifts, however, were not sacred in themselves as the temple and altar were, but derived a measure of lesser sacredness by being connected to the temple or altar. The teachers and Pharisees worshiped at the temple and offered sacrifices at the altar because they knew that the temple and altar were sacred. How then could they deny oath-binding value to what was truly sacred and accord it to objects of trivial and derived sacredness? ( Matt 23:16-22)The other Scriptural references you gave are still in reference to the Pharisees and not Muslims and it would be wrong to transfer these facts on Muslims because they do not teach in our churches, neither do they preach Christ, nor act as keepers of the Law (the Old Testament). Finally, Islam came to life through the womb of Hagar and Ishmael being the founding father of Islam did not serve in the temple, neither did his followers. The Pharisees were supposed priests of God whose ways became perverted. They would have received instant judgements if they had put up their heresies and deceits in the Old Testament, just like the house of Eli, Gehazi and sons of the prophets who thought they were familiar with God and his dealings. Grace was what preserved the Pharisees and in a way, they made the mission of Christ a reality. Christ never attacked Pagans and non believers of the Word and we're expected to follow in His steps. |
ammyluv2002:Understanding is limited to most Christians. I believe it's absurd though, for any church to sell some water for that amount. MuttleyLaff:Could you please post a video link? |
I could remember the jogging stunt prior the elections. It obviously did not work on Nigerians ![]() |
Ifeann:Dearie, your incessant attacks on Islam is way disturbing. You're not doing the will of Christ in this regard because Christ would never launch attacks on other religions. He never did. If you think you're doing God's will by constantly disrespecting other religions, then you're doing Christ a great disservice. It's high time you stopped. Empiree:Mr, last I checked the thread stated "How Can We Recognise False Teachers?". It was a simple question and wouldn't allow for bashing and attacks. I assume you're a Muslim judging by the bolded from your post. Regardless, I'd like to correct a notion; Christianity is NOT a religion. It's a way of life and Apostle Paul was never the founder according to your claim (And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that for a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught many people. - Acts 11:26). The disciples were called "Christians" which was coined from the name "Christ" + "ian" meaning "Christ-like". Mind you, the word itself was an adjective; a derogatory word to show contempt towards the followers of Christ. I could enlighten you more on this if you're interested but I consider it unwise to post on a seeming Christian thread. A little self-respect won't hurt. |
OLAADEGBU:1. Their lifestyle which is often defined by flamboyance, gathering of wealth etc. 2. Teachings/Preachings, often built around prosperity, success and less of teachings on heaven and holiness. 3. Doctrine! 4. The place of Trinity in their church. 5. They're good at blasphemy and heresy. |
cirmuell:Take it easy, lestat was only airing his view and it's alright to say he was frustrated at the tribal bashing ![]() |
lestat:Lolz... I agree with your #2 but I'd like to point out the bolded as the root cause of the incessant bashing on the Igbos. I wouldn't say they're not organized but I'd recommend that the Igbos take a cue from the leadership style of the North (Arewa Northern Forum) and the Yorubas (the Afenifere even though they're factionalized all thanks to the PDP and the APC). A voice is always stronger than many voices because several voices would only result to noise and the main point may not be driven home. A voice, however, would resound and resonate stronger. Some here have branded the Igbos as "ultimatum givers" as a result of the several groups claiming to be the main group. Like I earlier mentioned, Nairaland is only a forum and I don't think it will stop being so as most of us trust it than any news source. Unfortunately, the tribalistic aspect of it all is most tiring and nerve breaking. I told a friend about this yesterday and it sometimes discourage me from coming on to Nairaland. Lolz, @ your #4, please don't fire anyone |
lestat:Please stop screaming wolf when there is none present! Nairaland isn't inciting any tribal conflict here, I think we should talk to our kinsmen to apply wisdom. Take it or leave it, the article is on a handful of print media and would be read all over. Nairaland is only a forum where news are culled from other credible news websites or from users of the forum who witnessed first hand events. When Oba Akiolu threatened the Igbos, Nairaland aired it as it was. I'd really love for you to explain the bolded to us. I'm really dying hard to read your version of the definition. I think the groups representing the Ndigbos are painting the Igbos in bad light. The Niger-Delta outrightly rejected Dokubo and pledged to support GMB's administration, despite the failure of their own to return. The Hausas and the Yorubas are yet to make demands, none that I know of while several Igbo groups keep presenting endless demands and lists like it's a bride price list meant for a groom. Stating the obvious, the Igbos, though obvious through their representatives, are still bitter and it's pointless because the sympathizers are obviously crying than the bereaved. Nigeria is saddled with several ethnic groups and the incessant demands of the Igbos is only out to show that they're self-serving. It's only ironic when you hear someone say "we're not part of 'this zoo'" yet their demands day and night is disturbing. The demands are irritating. Apologies to anyone who feels insulted by my post |
Etruth:Sorry to disappoint you, Barcanista has never been smart, he only pretends to be with his sickly APC "over my life" threats. His life seems a bitter one because all he has in mind is nothing but hate. Good news is he'd need to put this hate up for 4 straight years, if he hasn't died of heart attack by then. |
clintino700:Cow n Chicken came later and it's in the same class as Johnny Bravo, Dexter Laboratory and I am Weasel. They came at some point when the oldies like Thundercat, The Magic School Bus, Globe Trotters and great other cartoons had folded in and were forgotten. |
emorse:Biko, are there new versions of Voltron I asked because this your picture is in HD and since the cartoon was almost 20 years ago, if not 20, how come the picture is in HD? NTA did not give us an HD quality sef.Meanwhile here's another ![]()
