jennykadry:
I don't know about some of you's but I was told to spend more time with my inlaw's as opposed to siblings and parents.

But what I do is, If I spend 2 weeks with my parents I do same with my inlaw's. My siblings and I all catch up when I'm visiting my parents.

Nothing sucks more than looking at your other half and wondering what a stranger he or she has become.

Her father's reasons for wanting her to stay back is genuine but if money isn't a problem with you two then have a heart to heart with her. look around your base and make sure to find her something that will up her career and not stop it and present your findings to her.

As per not spending time with your parents, talk to her about it. When I travel to the village I spend more time at my husbands village than I do at my parents. She does not need you to assist her in bonding with your parents. She is already a wife and not a gf so you have already paved way for a connection....all she needs do is remember she is married now and has a second family.

All the best
Thank you. I am actually trying to strike a balance between been open hearted to her views and been the man in the house. Infact, she complained initially that she was tired of the whole arrangement and would want to come over. I had submitted admission applications for her only for me to communicate our decisions to my father in law and the game began to change.

I do not intend to fall into infidelity but I have had cases of couples who haven lived apart that long gradually became strangers to each other. I do not want mine to drift like that. In the multitude of counsel, there is safety. I think, the opinions here express diverse views from which I should be able to pick my lessons.thanks once again

FamilyShould I Compel My Wife To Resign by santos247(op): 9:34pm On Oct 19, 2014
Hello everyone, I have benefitted immensely from the advices of people on this forum and I believe my sharing my concerns will not only help relief my burden but also provide help to others.
Have been married for almost 3years and everything seems working well but I have had challenges with my wife and my in laws. I began a PG study outside Nigeria, leaving my wife and baby at home (she works) but the distance seem not to be in the best interest of the family.Determined to get my wife to join me, I secured visas for my wife and baby for the entire duration of my studies. All my family and friends have appreciated this move but my father in law took it happily to reluctantly told me that he would want my wife to visit and not join me permanently because of her job....(Economic reasons)....My wife too has began to dance to that song.
I also notice that she doesn't relate well enough with my mother. As much as she could, she avoids going to my parents house. Both my mum and her parent reside in the same town. During the last holidays, She stayed in her parents house, visited my mum briefly and travelled out of the town to visit her sibs in another town. To me, this was a strategy to avoid staying with my parent more than a day. This has become obvious not only to my mum but even one of my close friends had to admit seen such behavior when I told him. I have a feeling that my inlaws are reinforcing their opinions on my wife. This was the same woman who pushed me to marrying her faster than I would have. I know how well I could have kept the relationship, and how funny I could have played the cards. Chai...Diaris God oo
As it is, the more these issue drag while we live apart based on the present arrangement, my fear is that we may become too emotionally separated before I finish my programme. Consider that when we would have been 5years in marriage, we would have only lived together fully for only 2 years?? How can I manage the overbearance of my father in law? I love him and his sacrifices for us but our decisions should be left for us to decide.
Is it right to stand my ground when she eventually visit and ask her to stay permanently? Finances? I have figured that out and it wont be our greatest challenge. What about her career? Who says if I get good job here, that I wont stay back? Think about the pressures from single girls around me here too. Pls advice me. THANKS

When you have lost focus, thats when you attribute other to all your problems..it was initially that America wants to divide you even when the actions and inactions of your own leaders are divisive and now, America is preventing you from buying arms, making you result to black market.Who says you cant buy from Russia, China, Brazil etc or even Iran.

We actually live ina 3rd world country but some people's brain have become 3rd world....GEJ and his co-travelers are beginning to show the signs and symptoms including d guy up there.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Government Admits Ownership Of $9.3m Arms Money Seized By S. Africafr by santos247(m): 10:10pm On Sep 16, 2014
EVEN America will know. Why would a government wanting to buy arms transact bussines in cash. The excuse that MOSAD and FBI do it is just too lame. How come a private jet was used? Why not use diplomatic transit? How come a faceless Ishaku was the courier?? There is lots that need to be unravelled. GEJ,even if you wash your hands in the Atlantic ocean, your government is the most corrupt un recent times !!!
PetsRe: The Dilemma Of Veterinary Medicine In Nigeria. by santos247(m): 4:12pm On Sep 11, 2014
Certain questions should come to mind in analysing while certain professions are not making it in Nigeria.

How many VET doctors does the NIgerian industry require and how many are we currently producing?? Nigeria has the ff schools offering VEt: UI, UNN,ABU,FUNNAB, UNIMAID, MAKURDI, UMUDIKE etc. Compare with south Africa that has only One veterinary school.University of Pretoria. More people raise pets-Dogs, Cats and Horses in south Africa than Nigeria. We are over producing VET doctors. We must conrol intake, reduce the number of graduates drastically so that the law of demand and supply can favour them

PoliticsRe: Onaiyekan To Presidency: Stop Linking Opposition With Boko Haram by santos247(m): 2:31pm On Jul 18, 2014
If GEJ does not link APC with Boko Haram, how will he get One BIllion Dollar to prosecute next year election. Who has closer ties to Boko HAram than Senator Ndume of PDP? Who gave birth to Boko Haram other than Alli Modu Sherrif (a mole in APC and who has returned to where he rightly belongs).HIs 8years as governor witnessed the birth and expansion of Boko HAram activites.

IS it Buhari that never won any popular election in Adamawa and Borno states that is funding Boko Haram? IS it Atiku that has never won in his home Adamawa state or El-Rufai whoose financial muscle cant even win a senatorial district.

Let GEJ continue then blame game.Even if he rules beyong 2019, posterity will always remeber men like him.

We are watching

God is keenly watching even more!!!!!!!!!

Christianity EtcRe: Adeboye, Olukoya, Oyedepo, Oritsajafor, Listen To Christ Warning & Amend Ur Way by santos247(m): 11:34am On Dec 29, 2013
Am surprised that this thread has been for a few days and its just rolling slowly. I however have a few things against this post that confirms to me it is not a divine assignment.
When a member of a family errs,God never sends our corection to the court of unbeleivers.office of a Prophet is the most misjudged of the gifts in the church.has the Op attempted to see these ppl if truly he got the vision? If no,then WHO TOLD YOU to post it here? If yes,has God told you he has given up on them and therefore go public with it? If we are truly a christian family,GOD will never lay it in your heart to bring acusation against the brethren to outside the universal church.he could use u to correct anoda pastor in amoda denomination o,but never wil he raise u the way u and the sister linda hav gone about it.
To other xtians here, lets kp praying for our men of God and ourselves.we must remember that God's method of handling offences in the body of Christ has not changed.if we are family, then when we err,let correct ourselves in that mindset

samtol4: Currently am in south africa for PHD ,I don't. Know where to start my comment from ,there is no point fighting over issues ,am proudly Nigerian but the truth is that South africa is better than Nigeria as a nation ,but NIgerians are 100times beta than south africans ,80percent of south africans are very lazy while most Nigerian guys are hardworking although some involved in drugs and dirty deal here but there gud investors and intellectuals nigerians doing well here.d issue of Nigerians taken over their women is d bitter truth because most SA guys re not presentable and because of alcohol dey are sexually poor ,2ndly most women here find it difficult to get husbands this vacuum is left for hustling naija guys to fill the gap ,South african guys have inferiority complex always feeling that foreigners will take over their businesses and women, yet they are not ready to work ,while poverty and corruption is alarming in Nigeria ,RAPE and CRIME are very high here ,infact I have seen women hiding phones inside bra in daytime because of thieves ,conclusively some south africans are very friendly while the violent ones are very hostile ....continue next time
this guy has spoken d gospel truth abt naija and SA.Incidentally,i came to SA dt same november for my PhD at Univ of Pretoria.i was treated very warmly by all the people i met. No Naija varsity public/private can beat d quality of their educatn. But nigerians are just soo good even though our system does not reflect it.cheers

Gbam!!!!
He that has an ear,let hin hear.
ajoguegbe: And who gave you the statistics of poor people in his church. Most of you wish pastors are poor, it is the desire of the devil too, but its too late they have discovered their rights in Christ. If you as an ordinary member realize your right in Christ and work hard, you will join the rich class, its not meant for pastors alone but some are leading by example.

It was Judas who criticized Mary for spending on Christ with the argument that such spending should have been given to the poor, an argument Jesus countered(John 12:3-5). The same old trick of the devil: trying to use compassion for the poor to stop believers from getting any favour. For crying out loud 90% people are poor by choice not by chance. Many had the same challenge that made them poor but utilized it to become rich while they were giving excuses. You don't expect me to be living poor just because their are people who refused to pay the price that I paid. Some people are making money now while some are always on Nairaland lazying and looking for the next pastor to criticize, later in life they will look for those to blame for their poverty: either government or uncle. I have told myself, I have no reason to be poor and even if I am a pastor, it has not changed my conviction. Hate me as you can, its not my fault, I labour for it like some pastors do

Disclaimer: Please note that I am not saying there are no theifing men of God, but such people often return to poverty, karma catches up with them. And even if not, they will pay the ultimate price but it is not you that should judge a God's servant(Rom 14:4), no not in a public forum, bible is against it; it is not you that should join the camp of the accuser of the brethren (Rev 12:9-11)except you are working for the devil yourself
