TechGeek777: This is SAKO SUNON PRO, maybe Low Input Voltage.
Whenever you see low output from your panels, always check the PV Input Current & Voltage; then multiply both to see if it matches what you see as the output in Watts. Thanks. It's up now to 1kw. I was only looking at the battery input in the first place. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Sapiosexuality(m): 8:50am On May 27, 2024 |
HeavenlyBang: None of those pictures show PV input voltage.
First is AC output, second is battery voltage. It probably wasn't charging earlier because PV input voltage wasn't high enough. Yeah. That was it. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Sapiosexuality(m): 7:34am On May 27, 2024 |
HeavenlyBang: Voltage may be below operating range? This is the voltage and the charging has started and it just increased. Is there anything I can do to control or regulate it of make it operate fine? Edit: I think I need time to understand this. I think I see it better now.

What could be responsible for an inverter reading 0 watts when the sun in early morning sun. I noticed these fluctuations yesterday. It moves from 1.5kw to 500 and even to 100w and less. What could be the problem?

zeestone99: It's sad that he got the wrong type of air conditioning unit. I too did not know LG makes different inverter ACs and energy saving is optional in some model. I have a 1.5hp LG inverter ac that consumes about 400w plus after a while especially at night, I have seen it do 395w thereabout at some point. During the day it ramps up about 900w plus then drops to around 550w plus to 600w thereabout. 400w? Wow! What's the name, please? |

newschannel247: Buy starlink, the initial cost is high due to cost of hardware, but on the long run it is an amazing investment. Imagine paying 38k monthly to use over 5 terabytes of data in a month. Starlink is truly unlimited, no data throttling or speed reduction, no data cap, no restriction, no nothing. Just pay the monthly sub of 38k and use whatever you like! And it can be shared, right? Like can up to 20-50 people share the network? |

Jimneighbour: afternic link to the email? No. Afternic link in the general email. If it doesn't work with price inclusion, then do that. But don't do it more than 2 times to avoid triggering spam. A simple "You can also get this on Afternic" where Afternic is a hyperlink, won't be bad. |

Jimneighbour: you can't tell if price is the problem, because I didn't include the price in my email. Always include price in your subsequent emails and you can add an Afternic link if nothing changes. |

jonescosmos: So sorry bro. The strike probably happened to both AC and DC Circuits, That's why you should have both DC and AC SPDs tied to proper earthing, and Also ground your panels. Besides this, are there other things that may make it easy for lightening to kill an inverter especially when the house you stay in has earthing? |

Ferdiwar: This is a high voltage inverter, as such all the panels should be connected in series.
A 4mm² cable is ok (at most 6mm²) the 10mm² is unnecessary. Thanks. I'd be going with 6mm². But in what situation can one use 10mm²? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Sapiosexuality(m): 11:16am On May 16, 2024 |
Drgreatone: Ur panels sud be joined in series cos of ur Inverter type and that wud keep ur amps same. I'd pick a 6mm for ease of expansion/upgrade later The distance is 25m. Won't that be a problem? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Sapiosexuality(m): 11:13am On May 16, 2024 |
Dam5reey: seems you consulted a Kazeem, using Size of panel to determine the cable size.
Cable are sized based on VMP, IMP and distance. Lol. It wasn't him who said that though but one of his boys but their boss said 10mm is what I need. Maybe it's because of the distance. About 25 meters to the inverter location. |

jonescosmos: Inverter Model: Is it High Voltage or Low Voltage?, Array Connection method? High or Low? Attached is a photo of the specifications. And I'm yet to connect the panels so can't tell if it will be series or parallel.

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Sapiosexuality(m): 10:21am On May 16, 2024 |
jonescosmos: What capacity of panels are these?, How many are they? What type of Array (Series or Parallel)?
For the cable see attached, nothing abnormal, just that your PV Cables should confirm to the features you see on the picture. 4 x 555 watts panels. And the distance is about 20 metres |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Sapiosexuality(m): 10:07am On May 16, 2024 |
jonescosmos: 10mm PV Cables for such a small unit? Honestly? Why do this?. You will loos energy bro. The most practical wire for solar panels is PV1-F 750V-1000V Anti-Stretch Shielded Outdoor solar cable, this cable is most common in 4mm2 and 6mm2. A very rough rule of thumb is for arrays of less than 20A can use 4mm2, and 20A or larger should use 6mm2. If a larger size is required, it is recommended to run twice from the array to the solar controller. That's what the installer I contacted said I need to run it. How bad is it? And how easy is it to get the one you are recommending? Someone also told me that because the panels are big that the cables have to be 10mm. |
