Originalsly: Really?...if Dec 25 was chosen as his birthday. ..why isn't there just celebration on that day only?.... as it is on his crucifixion date... Good Friday? Why the 12 days of Christmas? Purpose?....This time of the year was celebration season for pagans... and the Christians created a birth date and celebrations for Jesus called Christmas as a cover to not miss out in the pagan celebrations. That is the real purpose of Christmas. I believe they know that too.. Just that, they don't want to accept it. People really like being in the crowd and no one wishes to be left out. But in this regard,we should be considerate towards God himself. He must feel pained to see the world this way..still he's willing to let you choose your own way. |

miszeno: Who cares about d date, what we celebrate today is d amazing love dat God showed us by sending Jesus down to d earth for d hope, salvation n redemption of mankind.. Jesus was born so dah mankind can b save n born into d kingdom and will of God. This is worth celebrating!!!! Please keep looking for d date wen u discover it let us know while we continue to celebrate in love... I'm out! Peace n merry Christmas ma loves. Actually his death was more important. If Jesus choosed not to die after been born mankind will not be saved. This is in accordance with what the book of ecl said, the day of one's DEATH is better than the day of birth... Jesus even said"Keep doing this in remembrance of me.. |

Amberon: Did you not read my earlier comment? Now, why don't we celebrate the passover today, or any other feast according to biblical records? Because after he celebrated the passover with his disciples on Nisan 14. He instituted the remembrance or memorial of his death. He replaced the passover with his remembrance. Why? Because the passover reminds the isrealites of the deed that Jehovah did to save them from egypt. In this celebration, the blood of an unblemished lamb was normally shed. In this regard,Christ was for us the one and only unblemished lamb who took away our sins once and for all times. But it is not popular,I doubt if anyone celebrates his death. Why? Because the World does only what the devil wishes since it is lying in his hands.(1jon 5:19) Hope you understood me. |

Valmesk: Why do they go to church on Sundays and even fellowship on thursdays knowing fully well that the names of the weekdays were pronounced in reference to respect for various gods. Im not a deeper life but I will answer you. Its because they go to church those days to worship God. They DO NOT celebrate those days as part of worship. |

But wait, true christians do not celebrate Birthdays. Abstainance is always the best way out. So far you celebrate it,you are in..I mean. |

Rise in premarital sex, drugs, preg here nd there. Does that really gladens God's heart?. Even from time old birthdays never brought anything good like Herod and Pharoah, horrors were committed and today its even worst. |

bot101: When I read some thing online, I begin to wonder if christians know who they really are. God gave us power over EVERYTHING on earth and beyond. Sunday is Sunday because MAN says so, 2016 will come next week because MAN says so, I will celebrate the birth of JESUS CHRIST because I as MAN have said so, you believe 25th December is pagan because you as MAN have said so. God has given us that power from the beginning of the world, glorify God with it, or the devil with it. God created 25th, not the devil, the same way HE gave me five fingers on each hand and gave me the power to use as I deem fit, but the devil has successfully deceived some people into glorifying him by making them believe that making my hand into a specific shape is devilish(a hand given me by GOD himself).
The truth is that every human should in reality celebrate his/her birthday everyday, because that is what it is - birthDAY. I will be 24 years aon one day old on the 20th of May 2016, this alone is enough reason to wake up everyday, worship GOD and celebrate!!.
Sons of MAN, be wise and not give God's glory to the devil, it is HIS, and HIS alone, for all eternity!!. Glory to God you said until you noticed the amount of Premarital sex that will take place today. I guess thats what you mean by Glorifying God. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Is Celebrating Christmas Wrong ? by Sarang(f): 11:28am On Dec 25, 2015 |
I see christmas wrong.
The reason the Roman catholic church placed it on dec 25 thats what makes it unacceptable.
Ceaser Constatine was of pagan origin and because they wanted him to become christian, they placed Jesus birth to fit dec 25 the same day that the Sun God of Rome was been celebrated. They compromised many biblical standards just so he can be a Christian and that is so wrong. It was not a means to destroy paganism. Paganism rather was incalcuted so as the Ceaser finds Christianity acceptable. Their quest for POWER.
To Jesus, his death was important and he asked that it be celebrated. If he had wanted us to celebrate his birth,he would have said so.
Birthdays sprung from paganism. No one and I mean no one Compromises God's standards. He himself said, that to him obedience is better than sacrifice. A popular saying goes thus..Because everyone is doing it does not make it right! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Was Jesus Born On Christmas Day? by Sarang(f): 11:23am On Dec 25, 2015 |
missKiffy: Jesus wasn't born on Dec 25th, but that's the date universally set aside for his birth so I don't see any big deal in it The only big deal is that it was set aside for pagan proselytes so they can be christians eg Constantine a ceaser of Rome. You don'y compromise God's standards so others will deem it fit. Thats just what makes it unacceptable. |
