Are you really comparing UK economy to Canada? Check their GDP and even GDP per capita, inflation rate and unemployment rate, you will know Canada isn't close. The only advantage of Canada is the ease of getting PR. Even menial jobs are hard to come by in Canada now.

Story! UK that has no jobs or the one that people don't earn much or the one that tax like crazy. I would rather stay in Nigeria than travel to Youkay!

Kindly enlighten, Sir.

Why do they buy houses over there when you can do it in your native country, Nigeria ?

After all, as you said, the older ones are the ones that buy in Nigeria.

So are there pros over there and cons over here, they have seen ?

Simple because they are old and want to retire in Nigeria. Pros ko. Cons ni. Nigeria itself is a con.

Canada is an overrated overhyped 2nd world country working towards becoming a big force but not yet there as being hyped.

Canadian government is good in hyping Canada as paradise to attract immigrants with money. That money is part of what they are using to run the struggling Canadian economy.

Do you know that Canadian healthcare employers are so broke that they cant even sponsor foreign Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare professionals to come work in Canada despite the shortage of healthcare workers causing many Canadian hospitals and healthcare facilities to shutdown?

You cannot say the same for UK talk more of USA.

Some Canadian province looking to officially defraud foreign nurses overhyped one program for Doctors abi Nurses from some countries to come into Canada and work, they collected money in dollars from these foreign healthcare professionals to issue them temporaty license to come practice in Canada, after all the hype, they have issued many the so called worthless license and guess what? No work for them and no Canadian employer is ready to sponsor the so called healthcare professionals they lied to that they are short of healthcare professionals and urgently need them to come and work in Canada, just to collect their money for license and other registration fees to fund Canadian government.

US or UK can never try such without having thousands of employers ready and waiting desperately to employ those foreign professionals.

Even ordinary caregivers, UK employers are ready to sponsor them in their thousands from different countries of the world, that is how you know a rich nation with booming economy. Do you know how many foreign nurses, doctors, pharmacists, lab scientists, etc that UK healthcare employers sponsor on a monthly basis from different countries of the world without asking them to wait until they get UK experience? You know why? Because UK is rich and have a booming economy and rich employers that cannot even meet their workforce need, but Canada, hahahaha hungry employers struggling to remain in business due to struggling Canadian economy cannot afford to sponsor any foreign professional so they mask it with Canada experience cheesy.

The only good thing about Canada is the ease of getting PR compared to other developed countries which is why many immigrants are trooping into Canada.

How many global billionaires have Canada produced in the past 2 decades now?

How many A class corporations and multinational conglomerates are headquartered in Canada or founded by Canadians?

How many top rated Tech companies are headquartered in Canada or founded by Canada?

How many solutions to global problems have been discovered in Canada or sponsored by Canadian government or companies?

Elon Musk realized he couldn't achieve his big financial dreams living in Canada, he took the bold step to migrate to USA and today he is the richest man on earth.

Canada is far better than Nigeria, all thanks to successive useless Presidents and Governors Nigeria have had but Canada is an overhyped 2nd world country, not supposed to be referred as a 1st world country cos they are struggling economically while using immigration and foreign students to run their slow economy that even high skilled migrants from other 1st world countries find difficult to secure befitting job in Canada.

If you like deny all I have said with facts but the truth remains the truth.

How many Nigerians living in Canada can be classified as rich in Nigeria when compared to those living in other first world countries like US, UK, Germany, etc?

It's like they deported you from Canada. Cause the kind of lies you're peddling here no be am. Comparing Canada to UK and Nigeria. Only a fool will listen to you. UK economy better than Canada? You no well so. For someone who has never lived in Canada you seem to know so much about it.. from the news of course.

You aren't a serious person.

You want to stay in the staff quarters while A) you are no longer a staff, and B) you want to run your business from the staff quarters of a school you are not part of any longer?

I don't know why you think it is okay to have a one-sided conversation with a man, while you work for the wife. That's some serious lack of maturity on your part. You can't split a couple's decision making. In fact, you were dubious going to the husband and sidelining the wife.

And you trying to claim all the growth the school achieved was because you (most especially) was part of the school. If you didn't get the job, someone else would have gotten it, and the school would have STILL achieved growth. In fact, we don't know if the school would have achieved more growth if you weren't working with them sef.

She is not your mother of girlfriend, or side-chick, so why are you sounding bitter about a birthday greeting. YOUR WORK COLLEAGUES ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND OR FAMILY. DO YOUR JOB. GET PAID. GO HOME. Don't expect them to love you and wish you happy birthday. Not to talk of your boss.

Your boss or employer has no reason to be grateful to you the worker or employee. It's a two way contract. Do your job. Get paid. End of Discussion.

I don't think anyone was ungrateful or acted inhuman to you. You are immature and not ready for business. You should have saved and rented your own place before resigning.

Guy!
You are one of the most SENSIBLE HUMAN I have ever seen! EVERYTHING you said!!

It's the stupidity of some men to think that a woman is nothing! You work for the wife you went to talk to the man.. as what!!

Please just let it slid.
I was of the same thinking like most Nigerians too till I got to Canada.
May sincere prayer is that God will bring everyone that desire to come. When una come Una go know the real meaning of not all that glitter that is gold.
Canadians are nice ooo, they will smile and laught with you, but every of their thing is by the rule/book.
Na USA I wan go now make I confirm something.
The think I enjoy most about Canadian is the security, you may not see police much, but the crime rate is almost zero.
Social life is almost zero too, clubs/bars open 7pm or 9pm and close 2am (2am ooo grin)
Church is almost none existence, so your best place of socialising is the office, if you office is not that big with many staffs oyo is your case.

And please if you are not very, very emotionally strong, please and please don't come to Canada alone, come with your family or a very close friend, otherwise loneliness will just kill you.

You said it all.

I am glad the mods block you from replying. The truth is, you lack experience of life. Millions of Nigerians are dieing to be in your shoes.

I once move from my home city to a certain town. I complain and hated that town. Within a year I move far away to another Local govement. That was when my eyes open to see the beauty that two where I move away from.

In Canada, you have everything millions of Nigerians lack, yet you are complaining. Come back to Nigeria and regret your life.

It's the size of rat that determine the size of the rat's house. 500 dollars is enough for two weeks or even longer for somebody that missed home and doesn't have lot of money.

While person with plenty of money can travel home with tens of thousands of dollars as pocket money.

I have seen people traveled home with just 200 euro as pocket money. Yeah. 200 euro.
He told those at home of his pocket before traveling, so they didn't expect anything from him when he got home. When he returned he said his visit was enjoyable.

Thanks for telling me. Naija is quite expensive now. I don't think 500 will go a long way. But it's good to know.

Everybody's reality is different. If you live in Lagos and suddenly find yourself living somewhere in Gombe state, would life be the same for you? It's not about Canada, it's a function of where you are.

I live in the same Canada but I'm enjoying my life. I attend a Nigerian church Redeem, I belong to an association of Nigerians in the city. I attended countless number of parties, occassions, barbecues etc hosted by Nigerians this year. It has been all fun this year especially after covid disruptions. The naija community here is bubbling, no dull moment

If your friend lives in multi cultural areas where you have lots of Nigerians, I don't see how one can be lonely except the person wants to be lonely cos there are too many events that becomes difficult to keep up with.

If your friend lives in an area where he is the only black man, then it's wise to relocate to other areas. Even in Canada, people do move from one area to another, one city to another and even one province to another. Govt no use chain tie anybody yansh for one place.

Largely Canada is a lonely place.
You can't compare with 9ja in terms of sociality
