hello house. happy nw yr. bin a while since i last popped in. to those who already have dia visa n r planning to come soon, pls take note of the followng:

- pls, pls n pls, no matter what you do, dnt miss ur connecting flight from dubai to america. you will regret it. honestly. i almost hated mysef for doing so. You might say "nah, i wont do so". you'd be surprised. its quite easy to gt overconfident. the only upside is dt u'd neva miss a flight again in ur entire life once it happens.

- you can ask for help from anyone. at first, i was shy, bt when push came to shove, i had no choice bt to ask, n pipl were unexpectedly helpful...from middle easterners to europeans to black americans to ugandas...even if one acts odd, jst shrug it off n ask another.

-buy bread for your flight o. their food takes a lot of getting used to, n unless u consume burger n bagels n hotdogs on a regular basis, u'd definitely need that bread. trust me on that!!!

- when u get to d p.o.e, answer any que straightforwardly. no dilly-dallying, no long story, no eye service, nothing like that. hmm mmh. jst answer any question asked in a simple fashion.

- dont allow anyone u dnt know handle your passport o. biko!! i know it sounds stupid, bt exactly that happened in dubai. the lady was jst crying.

- finally, bring some cash with you. you neva can ell d emergency u might be in dt wld require spending some money, n without tha, u'd be in real trouble.

Sorry about that if you think that way because you should know that immigration officers are funny sometimes and as first timer someone needs to be careful

Even on the US embassy website, we are told that getting U.S visa does not guarantee people entry to U.S, If someone didn't behavior well in the presence of the immigration officer they can send people back.

Maybe zeezahbee will remind you of her experience or what she saw in Spain or so, i cant really remember the country

Hello house....good aftanoon. I am a new person in dis room so I av no idea who to ask. I'd jst serve my question n hope someone wld parry me d ans.

I got my visa on thursday. Thank God. Months of self-doubts gone...I'll post d questions asked in a subsequent post.

The thing is, when d c.o told me he wld grant me a visa, he gave me bck my i-20 without sealing it in an envelope (which I assume he shld do). Only when I got home n read d brochure did I realise dis fact. Wld it affect me at d port of entry to d u.s??

I'd b grateful if any1 cld ans. I'm alternating between joy n fear rite now. Thanks n Jah bless

Only upon reading d i-20 brochure dd I hear dt he was supposed to seal it in an envelope b4 giving it to me.

I'm still unsure as to what to do.
