Hello, am new here and I need assistance. Is in regards to the different categories for Visa application. I had a 2.1 in 2014 and I want to go for my masters, can I book in category A. Thanks.
No, you book Category B. Have you gained admission? If yes, when is your deadline for enrollment? All these are key in getting a date under Category B

Hello All,

Thanks for the response to my last question.
Please is it possible to certify someone else's credentials with the German Consulate? If yes, please how can one do this?

Thanks!
No it must be done in person. They'll confirm your identity with your international passport.

Good day all.

I have been learning German with Duolingo, how do I access myself to know if i have reached the level of basic user?.

Thanks
With only Duolingo, it may take you time to achieve your goals. Duolingo is very very basic, you can use it to memorise a few vocab and ease into learning German but don't depend solely on it. Especially the robotic voice that says the word is HORRIBLE, you won't develop listening skills.

Can certification be done in a state high court. Will it be accepted.
If you're applying via Uniassist then you can use high court (whether state or federal) and it'll be accepted.
If you're applying directly to the school then check if they specify the kind of notarization they want. If they didn't specify you can use high court

@ sassy please kindly reply me
If I knew the answer I would have answered you. But I know that to get resident permit, you need:
- accommodation, a landlord's agreement, a rental contract
- your admission letter/enrollment certificate
- proof of funds
- health insurance
- intl passport
Once you have all these in a city, you can apply for resident permit.

I created an application yesterday for summer semester 2020 on uniassist but I couldn't finish the application, so I stopped with the hope of finishing it today, submit online and pay. But after finishing everything today, anytime I click on submit online, it will be showing me "An unexpected error has occurred, please try again later." And it has been showing that since morning. Please what can I do? Thank you
Delete the application then apply again since you've not submitted and paid

I think all my document is ready now, please who knows where I can certified my documents in Abuja and possibly the cost. And also I lost my Nysc certificate when I traveled last time but I have a scanned copy I scanned to my email, will that be an issue during visa interview stage (since nysc isn't needed for application).
NYSC certificate is not needed for visa interview so don't worry yourself. Since you're in Abuja, certify at the embassy there.

Please Sassy92 Does booking under category A or B matter.

Since I applied under category B I have not been able to get a date, I want to book with category A would it affect me during the interview?

Would they ask about it?
It matters o. if you don't meet the requirements of category A, please don't book under Category A. Don't shoot yourself in the leg.
There's hope, if you've enrolled or gotten enrollment extension till December/January, you'll surely get a date.

Please does anyone know the validity period for the almighty 'SL'?
Cos I'm thinking of getting mine now against next year winter, all these dissappointments that I'm reading all over here are scary.
Kindly advice!
The general idea is that you need admission letter to get SL but someone mentioned here a few pages back that it's not needed.

So I finally did my interview this morning, was interviewed by the elegant lady on dreadlocks. She was nice and friendly and didn’t asked me many questions.

That’s all.and any question for me. i asked if there’s still hope for AD, she said for those that have extension from November till January there’s still hope for AD, but those that there deadline is October or mid Oct, and no extension she will ask them to defer because winter has started. So I believe those that used Dec as starting date there’s hope.
Congratulations, we await your AM testimony!!! And thank you so much for asking about ADs, God bless you. There is hope after all.

Same way people apply for AD and go for interview without funding... Cant just fault one and leave the other.

Its well though.

For those still expecting AD please if its possible to enrol by proxy please do. Dont forget to restrategize and have other plans.

All the Best.

Exactly!! Some people start this German waka without any means of proof of funds, they get to interview stage even up till AM still without having any means of BA/SL. Do we say what they're doing is wrong?
Now the embassy is insisting from Nov 1st to come with your proof of funds, so we can no longer do that. But as long as you can book for AD without showing AL, I won't fault anybody for doing so. This is my opinion.

Sassy at the airport or embassy
Even at the airport. I have travelled many times, they always demand for it as a means to get money from you, but you don't need it unless you're travelling to an African country or a country that demands for it at point of entry. But those airport officials know that a lot of Nigerians don't know this so they use it to extort money.

This whole situation is something else, this mess started when people went ahead to book appointment without having an admission letter (typical of Nigerians, isn't it?) now we all have to pay the price for those who decided to bring their nasty Nigerian "sharp sharp" behaviour to the AD application process.

May God help us waiting for AD, I booked on August 14, after failing to get dates for my June and July booking. I really don't know whats going on. Sent the embassy an email to enquire about the so called "purge" but dem no gree reply. Seems the whole purge thing is a myth. Maybe they want to dissuade people from applying who knows!
This AD thing is really frustrating but please let's all calm down.
1. I don't think the AD purge thing is a myth, today is Oct 2nd and the embassy was closed yesterday (and will be closed tomorrow). So they may purge today and start giving out dates from Friday or they may purge this week and start giving out dates from next week. Let's just keep hoping and praying.
2. In my humble opinion, there's absolutely nothing wrong in booking for AD before receiving AL. As long as the embassy permits it then you can do it. The key is to cancel on time if you don't receive AL.

Yellow card is an African thing. They will not ask you for it in the German embassy. Don't allow anybody to scam you.

good morning everyone. please i need advice on how to certify my documents for the school i'm applying too. this is what they had to say

An official authentication either can be carried out by every public administration and institution that possesses a seal
(round stamp with emblem) e.g.:
Embassies, residents registration offices, public savings banks, rectories, administrations, schools, bodies responsible for
health insurances and usually universities, but not lawyers, chartered accountants and unions as well as by nationally appointed translators.

i have gone through the thread for information but i need someone to help make the process clearer.

also, is it possible for a student copy of a transcript to be certified as my school does not give out official copy?

thank you
You can use student copy for admission but try to get the official copy from your school. Look for a company or school near you, go there and explain that you'd like to use their address for your transcript to be sent to them, apply for the transcript using the address and once its been sent go there and pick it up.

Calling someone wicked when it's obvious that you don't read through the thread is flabbergasting.

Most German schools start summer semester in March/April. So go to daad.de and search for your course and schools that offer it, their application timelines and their admissions requirements.

hmm thank you, so how will I go about that
Start learning at any language school near you, if you're in Lagos, go to the Goethe Institute. You'll probably need to learn up to B2/C1 to study Nursing. At the Goethe Institute, Each level is for 3 months so it'll take you a year to learn up to B2.

Good evening everyone, you are all doing a great job, please I've been searching for schools in Germany but I've not seen any where I can study nursing. I have HND in Agricultural extension and management and I want to apply for nursing science. Thanks
To apply for Nursing, you'll need German knowledge. It'll be difficult to get English-taught Nursing courses.

How much are we allowed to take out of the blocked account and would that cover for accommodation, feeding, transport? I am thinking of taking some cash along with me as you suggested but I dont know if the airlines / airport authorities would allow that.
With a blocked account you'll only have access to €853 per month (ie. If you block using the new rate of €10236). This should be enough to cover your living expenses depending on the city you're heading to and your lifestyle. But it's best to travel with some money because it may take time to unblock your account when you get to Germany.
