WAEC scratch card is not needed for MSc applications on Uniassist, just BSc. However, it's advised that you still send it. You can buy it online via Quickteller or mycyberteller, it's about 900 naira.

I booked on 8th Aug with 1 Oct as start date. I had no prior knowledge of how this thing works before booking, until i joined this thread else i would have booked with a longer start date. Now that the 1 Oct is at the corner, with the new rule of results older than 2017 to book in Cat B.
please elders in the house what do you advice I do .

If you're successfully enrolled then cancel your previous booking and book under Category B with December/January as start date. October 1st is next week oo. I advise you wait until next week before rebooking because the embassy said they'll purge the system at the end of September.

I honestly don't recommend taking a loan for BA from a stranger or organisation. If you want loan, take from family/friends/people you trust. There are so many factors that you need to consider. Education in Germany is tough, when finding a job you need to find one that won't affect your studies. You can only work for a certain number of hours so that will affect how much you earn. If you're based in a small city and can't speak German, you may find it difficult to get a job or you'll only get jobs with low pay. It may take some time before you'll be able to start paying back your loan and the stranger/organisation might not understand. You need to consider all these.

Yes it will be accepted, just attach it to the statement of results. But focus on getting admission first

For applications, you can use the statement of result, if you are applying via Uniassist then you'll have to send scratch card especially if it's for BSc.
As for the embassy, all you need to do is swear an affidavit stating that the certificate is missing.

I applied for my certificate since last year. As at now, they are still telling me that my certificate is yet to be signed. Just imagine!

If only i had joined the Nigerian Army that year..this would have been the best time to showcase my power.

No vex abeg. You can apply with statement of result, many habe gotten admission with it. And it's recommended that you get your certificate for enrollment because some schools will demand for it. Also the embassy usually ask for your certificate if you've been out of school for 5 years or more. So try to get it, at least before your interview

Please don't make statements like this unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE as it would crush some people's hopes. Let's just stay positive and keep hoping and praying. I really believe they'll still release dates especially for those who have done their enrollment.

It all depends on you. If you have good handwriting and can write fast, go for paper based.
If you have bad handwriting and can type fast, go for computer based.

Wow, I've always thought that you can't apply for a course on Uniassist until the opening date. It's even stated clearly on the Uniassist website. Or maybe you're confusing opening date with closing date? Or are you applying for VPD?

Go for your interview with the previous amount. Then after the interview, start hustling to get the remaining money. Even if your AM shows, they'll still ask you to top up before issuing you visa.

I have been having a hard time getting my certificate from my school, even though i graduated since 2012.

So i messaged HTW Berlin, one of the schools i am interested in, notifying them of my situation. They assured me that i can apply using my statement of result. See attached mail.

But do you guys think i will be mandated to provide it at some point (maybe during enrollment)? I have asked them that though, but i decided to ask guys here, while i await their response

You don't need your certificate to apply, however some schools will require it for enrollment. It's generally recommended that you get it before leaving Nigeria.

Are you sure you were able to submit? because on uniassist, you can't apply for a school until the opening date. Which school is this?

Translation: the exam is free, It's online, therefore it cannot be completely monitored. As such, any results obtained will be highly questionable. When I wrote IELTS, they were VERY STRICT. We were not allowed to enter the exam hall with anything except your intl passport for identification. We were asked to remove bogus jewellry, jackets, facecaps even wristwatches. They didn't even allow us come in with writing materials (pencil, eraser), they provided the writing materials for us. They had CCTV all over the exam hall. They went through all those strict measures to avoid cheating so that the results will not be questioned by any institution worldwide.
So as for whether the embassy will accept EFSET well I can't say for sure, but you sef reason am.

The embassy won't ask for it if it's not part of your school's requirements. Nigeria is an English speaking country, that's why the embassy doesn't ask students to come with English Test for interview. My Indian friend told me that in India, it's compulsory you attend your student visa interview with an English test (IELTS/TOEFL). So, please go write the test, yes, you'll have to wait 2 weeks, that is unavoidable. I'd recommend IELTS over TOEFL based on my personal experience, I wrote IELTS in July, had only 10 days to prepare and got an overall band score of 7.5. I realised that English tests are not hard, you just need to practice well.

Thanks for your response, but am actually surprised, if I didn't meet up with the school requirements, why did they offer me the admission in the first place.

I'd advice that you write the exam, you've gotten this far, don't hold yourself back. And yes, some schools will give you admission with certain criteria and demand another set of criteria for enrollment.

You don't need AL to open a blocked account (BA). My advice is that you open a savings account, preferable a High Yields savings account (to reduce temptation of withdrawing the money) and be stashing the money there. Wait till you get another AL and you've received AD before you open and fund BA.
