Ligogu: If you're applying for another Bsc, your first Bsc( or 100lvl transcript) doesn't really matter. But like you've been advised, concentrate on finishing your first year in Ukraine. Forget about jobs and hustling for now, don't let anyone deceive you, even though you can work as a student in Germany, there's only so much money you can make. Concentrate on finishing your first year, then applying. And learn the language even if it's only A1, it will help in settling down and getting jobs too. 1 Like |

epurepu:If this were the case, then they'll ask for your BA/SL BEFORE giving you a date. The fact that you can still book appointment without uploading BA/SL verifies this fact. Your visa application starts on your appointment date (AD) not the day you booked or when you received a date. 1 Like |
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by sassy92(f): 9:44am On Sep 30, 2019 |
epurepu:No that means you must come for your interview with fully funded BA or original SL. It doesn't mean you must have it to apply for date. Obviously this move is to reduce the number of applications they receive because people will only book for date once they're sure of their BA/SL |

Ligogu:My advice, since you're already in Ukraine and you don't have German knowledge, finish your first year in the university there. Then you can collect your first year transcript and apply to German universities. 1 Like |

dainvincible: 1. The documents are on the embassy site. Download and print it out. 2. Access bank, Stanbic, Zenith, First bank. Transfer using dorm account. 3. If you're using Fintiba then you'll transfer €10425. As for Naira equivalent, depends on exchange rate but everything should not be more than ₦4.3million. If you have not gotten AD, wait till you get a date before funding. 1 Like 1 Share |

mcpapillo:I'm not an expert oo, this is the first time the embassy is using the Category system for appointment booking so there are a lot of gray areas. But it's clearly stated on the embassy website that they'll purge their system at the end of September to give room for new appointments. So there are 2 things: - Cancel your previous booking and rebook in October - Leave your previous booking and hope that the embassy will release dates after purging their system. I can't tell anyone which exactly to do, the choice is yours. But it's clear that the embassy doesn't use when you booked as a criteria for giving dates, people that booked in June/July haven't gotten dates while someone here booked in September and got a date. What the embassy uses is your enrollment deadline, your AD needs to be at least 6 weeks to your enrolment deadline for you to be able to meet up. The earliest AD you can get is in October, so look at your enrolment deadline and ask yourself "if I get a AD in October will I be able to meet up?" This should guide you appropriately. For those whose schools allow enrollment by proxy, please IF YOU'RE CANCELLING AND REBOOKING MAKE SURE YOU USE DEC/JAN AS START DATE. And if you eventually get a date, please make sure you go with your certificate of enrollment for your interview and your proof of sustenance (fully funded BA or original copy of SL). For those using BA, wait till you get a date before funding. That's all I can say, again I'm no expert so please take my opinion with a pinch of salt. 4 Likes |

Slip:Wow, I didn't know that some schools only accept the hard copy. I uploaded the PDF copy that was sent to my mail to the TUM portal and it was accepted. Yes go check the nearest post office to you but depending on when you received the email version it may take a while to arrive Naija. Hopefully your application deadline is not close. |

chuksinfotech:Noooo. It means if a government official wants to travel WITH his family then they'll be interviewed in Abuja embassy. This clearly does not apply to students except you live in Abuja (or any of the northern states mentioned) AND going for Msc/PhD (they don't interview Bsc applicants) |

hotboss:If you're going for summer, my advice is that you don't limit yourself. Courses are very limited for summer. I'm also going for engineering courses and the ones I found that are offered for summer, most use Uniassist and require English Test (IELTS/TOEFL). So check all the requirements for the schools and their application timelines. 1 Like |

Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by sassy92(f): 1:02pm On Sep 27, 2019 |
hotboss:For the courses you listed above, the applications usually don't open till October/November. So just chill and wait. In the meantime, check the requirements of the schools you've shortlisted. Do you meet the requirements? Start gathering your documents and (if you're applying via Uniassist) money for uniassist, shipping your docs etc. |

madenigga:Technically it is. The embassy usually starts interviewing summer applicants from November. Some schools have released ALs for summer already. I am of the opinion that the embassy may change the booking system for summer (THIS IS MY OPINION, NOT FACT). They may go back to the online or email booking system. 1 Like 1 Share |

abycash:Honestly, no one can give a concrete answer on this. You can either: - Cancel your appointment and rebook next week. - not cancel and hope and pray the embassy will release dates after purging their system. The choice is yours. 2 Likes |

fitlaw:Welcome to the thread. Every information you need to start is on the first page of this thread. Go to DAAD/Wikipedia/Google and search for your intended course of study. Find out if the course is being offered for summer semester, their application requirements, mode of application and application timeline. Start gathering your documents too. And read through the thread, there's an immense wealth of knowledge here. All the best!! |

Krizjay:I really don't think it's about the PhD. @heybaby mentioned that she told her VO that she has no intention of returning to Nigeria till she reaches the peak of her studies; this is someone that was going for another Bsc in her 30s. Today she's in Germany. So clearly PhD is not the issue. Sorry to those who received rejections, it can be really devastating. But thankfully so many useful suggestions have been given and I'm sure there'll be breakthroughs. It is well. 5 Likes 1 Share |

abycash:1- Don't cancel, just chill and hope you get a date. So long as your enrolment date is correct and you've been issued new AL with respect to your deferment. 2- Don't fund until you get a date. Very important. |

imoriafe:If you're going to a big city where they have lots of applications, it may take them time to process them all. Also September/October is the peak of winter period with thousands of foreign students resuming schools so the workload is much. Just calm down, If you're below the 6 week mark (i.e it's not up to 6 weeks after your interview) then don't worry. Find ways to keep busy and distract yourself instead of refreshing your mail every minute. Here's a general advice to those awaiting AM on how not to go crazy while waiting: - If you haven't, start doing research on your school and the city it's located. Connect with students in the school, you can find them here on Nairaland or on Facebook. Ask them questions and let them tell you about life in school, the city, student jobs, activities etc. - Start searching for accommodation, Housing in Germany is a big issue, and if you're heading to a city like Munich it's way more difficult. if you don't get accommodation, then you need to plan where you'll stay till you get accommodation ( Tip: avoid hotels and use youth hostels, They're far cheaper). - Start reviewing your course modules, education in Germany is not easy. Download your course modules on the school's website and start looking at the courses you'll take, get textbooks and materials and start reading. if possible, you can connect with a student doing the course and plead with them to send you materials. Start reading oooo. - There's a shopping list on the Nigeria Students in Germany thread, you can use it to start packing and preparing your things. May all those awaiting AMs receive their testimony in Jesus' name. 23 Likes 4 Shares |

tiersly:Please try to get another passport because there's a general rule for all embassies that they don't print visas on passports that are 6 months or less to the expiry date. Everything in Nigeria is about money, they always say 'no booklet' until you drop something. |
