You need patience the size of the atlantic ocean, a fashion concious mind. You also need a sizeable budget, this is relative, but a minimum of 300,000 naira is advisable for just gowns. This is minus the cost of the shop and fixtures.

Buy gowns that are 'one size fits all'. They are laced up at the back. This can fit a size 6 and a size 16. Very economical.

Do lots of research! Learn about various cuts peculiar to wedding gowns. Know the different types of gowns - empire waist, mermaid etc. Know the trends in vogue etc

Cheapest quality gowns are found in China. Buy online from Aliexpress.com. Gowns from 10,000 naira are found there at wholesale price. But shipping costs may raise it 18k. Have a mixture of low budget and high budget gowns but depending on your target customers.

The internet has made things so easy, do a research online, visit various wedding gown shops in a guise and see for yourself.

Use a standard drycleaner please! Store gowns hanging in the open with good ventilation

I totally forgot I gave this advice, 2017 I started a bridal shop, lol and this is no longer practical.

Most banks don't give PoS these days without a monthly turnover of 500k and above.

A friend has opened an account in 11 banks just because of Pos and the only bank that gave him one within 2 weeks was keystone bank. The others are a waste of time.

I rented and paid for 2 large tents since Tuesday, to be used today.

He brought 4 smaller canopies, set up 2 and left the other 2, saying he forgot some parts.

He has refused to pick calls and says there's nothing I can do. I paid in full 4days to my event.

I discovered after complaining that he does not have any tents or marquee and he has scammed so many people.

Seeing as I got him on here, please do business with him at your peril!

fresh juice is what I expect from weddings these days. Some weddings have Cocktails & mocktails, as a replacement for soft drinks, which is good.

getting someone who knows how to make good kunu and Zobo is difficult in these parts.

it is cumbersome but better you do it yourself after getting a lawyer to apply. If you are in lagos, go to the probate court in ikeja and ask for mrs Yusuff or mr. Bolaji. the charge is 10% of the total value of the deceased property and enough bribe for whoever is helping you.

How much?

Just use a valid work or school Id card, it will cost you slightly more but less trouble than expired passport
