Sagamite:Wetin Nollywood do you now? Haba!!! |
BlueDiva:Drogba is the bad boy of European football. From one ban to another. |
chic2pimp:Wes Brown!!! |
bluespice:Bluespice on Sports Thread? I just saw Lucifer eating jalapenos @ the Vatican. ![]() |
dayokanu:We did it with Scholes, Carrick and Evra in 2007/8. Frustrate Messi. . . . .He is becoming petulant these days. Eboue should whisper in his ears that he is a tarado. Messi will lash out and Eboue will dive rolling 40 times and Messi will cop a RED card. |
dayokanu:It was in Wembley o. . . . The expansive pitch in Wembley allowed Barcelona to express themselves really well. However, Kanu had a brilliant game and Bergkamp was imperious but how do you stop Rivaldo and Luis Enrique causing chaos. BTW who would Krayola support tonightMessi might have a quiet night if Arsenal starts Eboue, Song and Diaby. |
candylips:So that MEND can kidnap more white folks? |
v3:Christ Almighty!!! Are you playing for Arsenal tonight? |
dayokanu:Please don't make me laugh. Arsenal were disgraced that night. |
tkb417:The game against Chelsea can only last 90 mins. . . . .We cannot play EXTRA TIME(120 mins) against Chelsea. Besides, our match is 12.45 pm on Saturday. . .meaning we have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to cool off before facing Ribery. I don't see how a 90-min game against Chelsea will sap our energy after having 96 hrs rest. Arsenal playing on Saturday and playing again on Tuesday away from home is more energy-sapping cos of jet-lag. |
debosky:The match is on ITV? Nonsense!!! I hate ITV with their 50 commercial breaks in one minute. Their pictures are also grainy even on HD. . . . . |
duduspace:Soccernet is talking trash. . . . .The injury is yet to be assessed. . . . People are just speculating based on the ankle sprain they have experienced in their High Schools. Basically, it could be less/more than 2-4 weeks. P.S. Berbatov is more than capable of leading the line in United. |
chelseabmw:His injury hasn't been assessed yet. It could be more than 4 weeks. |
dayokanu:Rooney was rubbish with his finishing. He did one thing right and got several things wrong. Pranjic, Olic, Muller and Altintop are technically deficient players but you cant fault their passion and commitment.Fergie shouldn't have started Gary Neville but i guess he was resting Rafael for Chelsea's Malouda on Saturday. Rafael woulda matched Ribery for pace and with Valencia back-tracking, Ribery's threats woulda been nullified. The tie in OT would be a lil tilted in Bayerns favour ( 51-49) as Rooney might be out. Let me tell you, The fear of Rooney is one of the greatest weapon manure has.The absence of Rooney can also create complacency in the Bayern team and then what happens? United are not a one-man team. . . . . Going into the second leg one thing Manure has for them is the atmosphere at OT which we used to our advantage yesterday. That was Allianz at its best yesterday all our players acknowledged it,We have been here before. . . . .0-0 first leg is worse than 2-1 defeat. Your full backs need to step it up.Rafael/Valencia. . . . Evra/Nani. If I would select Munich team I would drop either of Robben or Ribery and put them in the second half. They will be eaten alive at OT whether they start or come as substitute. Fergie got the selection wrong last night unless he had Chelsea's game in mind. i I dunno how Neville was asked to mark Bayern's most dangerous player. Bayern needs a 3 man midfield to contain Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher. Have you guys thought about Giggs partnering Berbatov? Giggs can rove the wings and interchange with Nani and Valencia. By having a steady LWinger that would limit Lahms movement upfront and bring Evra more into the gameSomething Nani coulda done so well last night. Nani's threats woulda kept Lahm in his half. Olic, Gomez(Olics height deficiency was glaring in the first half as he couldnt connect crosses) and Ribery start upfront.Till next Wednesday. . . . . Rooney's loss is a big blow but Fergie is experienced enough to cope with his absence. Berbatov played against German opposition in his career. . . . . .He will have to something to say in the second leg. . . -Man Utd have won 10 of their last 11 Premier League games without Wayne Rooney, drawing the other. -Berbatov has scored eight goals in his last nine Premier League starts for Man Utd. -Away goal advantage. tkb417:We beat Barcelona @ OT in 07/08 without Rooney and Vidic. |
HNIC:Don't sweat the technique. . . . .Wenger has promised us beautiful football. This wouldn't be a CL tie. . . . .It will be an exhibition football showcasing the ART of the game. Ma prediction: Arsenal 4-4 Barcelona. |
tkb417:Where would Valencia have played? Scholes was one of our better midfield players last night. Carrick and Park were gash. we gave them room to attack us cos only Nani was giving them issuesWe nullified em in the first half. If we had scored 3 goals then, i don't think Louis Van Gaal woulda complained at all. . . .Dayokanu was so stunned he couldn't post in the first half. Nani hit the bar and Wazza shoulda scored from 5 yards. . . . .His finishing let him down big time. what is Gary's fate after yesterday trouble?Knowing Fergie very well, he might start Neville again in the return leg. Nani shoulda started from the left to keep Lahm busy. . . . .Nani tore Badstuber or fuckever he's called a new one last night but our midfield gave Nani no service in the second half at all. Evra? i think hes tired cos i can remember some mistakes he did yesterday that would have resulted in goalsI cannot fault Evra. . . . .He's been fantastic this season. Our most consistent player by a wide margin. He got sloppy in the end and Olic nicked the ball from his feet. The tie is delicately balanced and i fancy us going through with/without Rooney. |
jay bee:If these two don't start, who else would? i'd prefer if bayern don't score cos any goal from them will surely scare the hell out of the guys and force them to go back playing against rubbish history. If we go 3 goals up, it wouldn't matter if Bayern score. U gotta fancy them nicking the odd goal in the 90th minute to make it 4-1. ![]() Rooney getting injured is a blessing in disguise in ma opinion plus berba has started living up to your hype.Berbatov has always been an excellent player if his team-mates play to his strength. Give him accurate passes, don't make him run 60 miles to get the ball. Deliver the ball to his feet like he does to his team-mates and he is class. If we play 4-2-3-1 with Nani, Valencia and Park/Giggs behind Berba then we have a good chance. |
denzel2009:You are correct. . . . .It was shot in South Africa. David Oyelowo delivered a master-class in this movie. Guy Hibbert should now link up with Chinua Achebe and remake Things Fall Apart. ![]() |
nearest:Jack Bauer was smarter than them and he had what they didn't have - SMOKE BOMB. |
thameamead:Even after seeing all those wretched cars with Port Harcourt plate numbers? The Okadas? The creeks? |
jay bee:Scrappy 1-nil scoreline is very dangerous. It cost us against Mourinho in 2004 and Jose became a legend since then. If we concede possession like we did last night, Bayern might nick the odd goal. They are the king of deflections. Before Ribery's goal, i'd already counted over 5 deflections going wide. United cannot be as gash as they were last night. . . . .The fans won't let them be that dire @ OT. Rafael--Rio--Vidic--Evra will very well keep Robben and Ribery quiet but what are we going to offer upfront? Berba-Macheda? Berba-Diouf? Berba-Fergie? ![]() |
dayokanu:Because you and your fellow Nazis know you will be given the run around of your lives next Wednesday. Our task is clear-cut. . . . .Outscore Bayern Munich with a 2-goal margin. Is Rooney really out for 2-4 weeks? |
ritchboy:I remember you saying the exact same words when Barcelona visited 2 years ago. After 90 mins, the collective effort of Messi. Etoo, Henry and Gudjohnsen came to ZERO. Bayern will worry more about defending than attacking. . . . .I can bet you on that. 2-1 away from HOME in Europe is a very good result. U destroyed Porto 4-0 after losing 2-1 away from home, remember? United have only one option now. . . . .BEAT Bayern by more than a goal MARGIN and go through. |
Krayola:The same thing happened in Manchester City stadium when Tevez got 2 goals and became an overnight celebrity for 6 days. During that time, he called Neville a tarado, claimed he was the best striker in Man Utd and reh reh reh. U ejaculated for 72 hours praising Tevez to the high heavens and argued he shouldn't have been sold. A week later, no one saw you on NL after Scholes and Carrick hammered the final nail in Man City's coffin. Barcelona cannot beat United over two legs. When they attempted it in 2007/8, Messi was anonymous for 180 mins. This tie is not over yet. The match was played in Bayern(it's not unexpected for them to have the home advantage). . . .now the tie is going to OT where excellent players like Messi, Xavi, Ronaldinho, Drogba, Fabregas, Kaka, Henry, Etoo, Ibrahimovic and Adriano have all faded into oblivion. |
dayokanu:Who sits back for 90 mins to defend 0-0 in Europe? You are not intelligent. . . . .Cos if you are, you will know defending for 90 mins is like sitting on a time bomb. A flukish freekick or a dodgy penalty in the last minute ELIMINATES your team. A 1-1 takes you through in one in the other you play penaltiesWith a 1-1 result, United will still need plenty of goals to go through. Why didn't we sit out 3-2 lead over AC Milan and play catenaccio for 90 mins? The 2-1 result gives us just one option. . . . .Outscore Bayern Munich at Old Trafford by more than a goal margin and go through. 1-1 and 2-2 result can be deceiving. . . . .That was what killed Porto FC last season. |
ritchboy:What is the difference between 2-1(away) and 1-1(away)? Concerning Robben/Ribery. . . . .Fergie could be looking at Chelsea's game this weekend thus resting Rafael. Put Park ahead of Evra and Valencia ahead of Rafael and 'ROBBERY' will fade into oblivion. If Samir Nasri can give Neville the twist n turn of his life, how much more Franck Ribery? |
kay_pumpin:Exactly ma point. Olic's goal surprisingly lifted Van Bommel's 3.5 rating to 7. Of course, the winning players will get more marks even though the winner came in the 92nd minute. The game comes at the heel of a Man U/Chelsea game and that makes it the more interesting. . .Can United play much worse than they did tonight? I doubt it. At Old Trafford with 76,000 fans screaming, those Bayern boys will melt. The away goal gives us a CLEAR advantage. |
dayokanu:Can someone remind Dayokanu Bayern Munich were playing at HOME and thus they had the advantage? All these WE WON, WE WON WE WON when the tie is half-way will make next week so enjoyable when you take cocks up your arse. U have been warned, now. I will hound you for 3 months if United go through. Keep your pre-ejac in check. |
tayo_ast:United can't win WITHOUT Ronaldo. . . .now United can't win WITHOUT Rooney? |
sage:We weren't going to beat Roma 7-1 as well after LOSING 2-1 in Rome. |
tayo_ast:Yea, i mean the Semis. chic2pimp:Na still lazy journalism. Bayern had the better chances. . . . .They were better on the night but this is not OVER by a country mile. 2-1 is a very good result AWAY from home. If we had drawn 1-1, we would still need to score at OT to advance cos United will never play for 0-0 result only for Bayern to nick one at the death. So i will take 1-1 or 2-1. |
chic2pimp:Van Bommel played well WITHOUT contributing nada. He didn't defend, he added nothing offensively. . . . .He was on that pitch when Nani and Vidic hit the cross-bar. What else? Butt was also better than VDS? I also believe Man United will go through. We got the AWAY goal. . . . .I am very happy with that. Had Bayern won 1-0, i would be kicking maself seriously but with MY away goal. . . . .I say bring on Bayern with Robben, Schweini, Rummenigge and Beckenbauer. They will be EATEN alive by Old Trafford IMMORTALS. |
