WrriterNg:But that's the plain truth. Russian forces were already few miles away from Kiev when Zelensky begged for the Minsk 2 deal to be signed. Russia withdraw in a show of intent, only for Biden and Boris Johnson to doublecross the Russians. But that's nothing. If Russia wanted Kyiv to end today it would end it. They've already decimated 70% of Ukrainian power infrastructure with precision hits back to back. What else is there they can't hit? There are days when Russia launches blitzes of missiles, such that Zelensky begins to cry, lamenting Russia's resolve to annihilate all Ukrainians. The Russkies just don't want another international inquiry, after what followed from the complete devastation of parts of Ukraine in the early stages of the conflict. Because, they need the support of other countries now. So, they are very careful about mass attacks. Were it not for those types of considerations, Russia has non-nukes capability that could wipe out 1/3 of the entire Ukrainian population in one day. There would be nowhere to run for them. |
MEGAWATCH:It has already ended well for them. Get up to speed. Ukraine is spent. The West does not have any magical weapon in store to give them that would turn the tide. This war has made Russia very tech advanced in warfare. Matter of fact, the Pentagon is using the war as a thesis on modern warfare. Also, Zelensky sent soldiers that would have held the front lines to Kursk, and well, that didn't end well. Now, Russia is sending men to create a buffer there. That battle is as good as over. The US will not agree to hitting targets deep inside Russian territory. It knows that's where the real threat to its national security is. Ground sensors surround key command centers that could trigger THE DEAD HAND. If you strike without caution, you could literally trigger a nuclear holocaust without a single Russian hand pressing any button. Zelensky is naive because unlike him, the US knows the cost of any escalation that breaches the buffer zones. NATO will not accept Ukraine in this lifetime. The very idea is one for pub banter that won't ever see the light of day. The EU will not accept this Ukraine, because Greece taught them a lesson about the cost of maintaining a pariah state. Ukraine is economically dead. It's power infrastructure has been decimated, and only about 30% of it still work. And they still do because Russia wants it so. They can be taken out today if Russia so wishes. You people don't get it. Defeat of Russia can only come at one cost - the end of the world. The day Moscow goes up in flames is the day the world ends. 6000+ nukes are constantly aiming at every major western cities, and they don't need a single Russian to detonate them. The moment no one is around to reset the timer, it goes off. The world ends! Economically, Russia is using just 6% of its GDP to fund this war. They're fine economically. They get all they want from the global South, and thanks to Boris Johnson and Biden, every single country in the global South now know that they can survive outside the Western bubble. You have no idea what the Russo-Ukraine war has done. This is how the empire breaks into fragments. It's done! |
The moment the refinery commenced operations, the supply value chain should have been concluded almost at the same time. Why is it that the most basic and simple things mystify the leaders in this country? They bring their wanton and civilization destroying greed into everything, and the people who are nonthewiser suffer the consequences. Kai! Almost one year to agree a deal to park trailer, load product and go? Nahhh, this country is gone. |
Only for us to wake up next week with IPMAN claiming no such deal was ever made. If we can use nearly a year to make a deal for the supply of ordinary fuel, what exactly was the reason I was so optimistic about Nigeria for? This country is gone for good. |
After bringing your troops and equipment over, please call for a truce. Call for discussions and an amicable end of hostilities, one that ensures the mutual security of all countries in the entire Middle East. The entire region is on the brink, deescalation is the only option now. |
If this is the direction the propaganda machinery intends to take, then it's set to do a bad job. Tinubu has just the next year to make any meaningful contribution, because by 2025/2026 his entire attention would be focused on politicking for re-election. By the time he's done settling down, we'd already be in another election cycle. We never asked him to do anything, because he never said he'd do anything. We just want him to return the country to where and how he met it. That's not asking for too much. |
In essence, NNPC is controlling the price and npt market forces. This country. |
Lanrelagboi:I feel profoundly weird if I go to bed without doing it. Like, super uncomfortable. |
yarimo:You don't get it. There's an existing sworn affidavit by all 27 lawmakers lying in court waiting for adjudication as we speak. When they defected, in order to make their every law legally binding, they thought it wise to make their defection legally binding as well by swearing a combined affidavit in court. That's what they did. They will never return to the chamber. They're goners. |
Lol. Bunch of jokers. Next! |
Nigerians will come to understand that a great politician certainly has no correlation with a great economist/leader. |
The subsidy removal plan was inevitable, but the manner with which the President carried it out was naive at best. He hadn't studied the scheme to know how best to approach a removal, had absolutely no plan in place to mitigate the blowback effects on the Nigerian populace. He just arrogantly announced a removal right on his inauguration podium. We've been nearly 8 months in and subsidy has returned through the backdoor and forex crisis is nowhere near solved. Not even Buhari had it in him to float the naira, but rather adopted a phased devaluation plan that didn't throw everything off the cliff as we have it now. The country's economy has completely collapsed. Previously middle class families have been thrown into poverty, and somehow some people still think things are going to be any different soon. Wasn't that how we all were optimistic about Buhari's policies that led nowhere? |
Nigerian Presidents are the luckiest in the world. 300% hike in the price of staple food commodities in less than one year and this man has the guts to throw 'jabs'. I don't blame him one bit. |
Jaycee07:@bolded. I see no reason why an agricultural masterplan to make the ENTIRE NATION less dependent on Northern produce cannot be made now. We keep referencing the Northern agricultural value chain like it's something that cannot be replicated anywhere else. These are mere excuses we give to evade the responsibility to act, typical of unserious countries. We can start cultivating large swaths of arable lands in the West, East and South South this month with the right political will. And by this time next year, we'd be better off. It's both a short and longterm plan. Then the North can annihilate themselves to the last man, and we over here won't even care. These are ideas and programs you'd expect government to come up with and use those countless loans to finance. But, no. Let's seal up warehouses and arrest Bureau de Change operators. Papering deep foundational cracks with shallow and weak policies, rather than folding the sleeves and putting hands in the soil to work. |
If it happens I'm certain it would be 200% better than the Presidential system. It won't solve all our problems, but it would permanently set us on a path to real progress. After that, maybe we discuss regional government. We need to understand at this point that, we either 'die' by maintaining this socialist styled fiscal arrangement where everyone goes to Abuja to collect FAAC allocation at the end of the month, or, we breakaway from each other and allow everyone progress locally with the FG standing by to aid. We are at the very cusp of something perpetually great or damning. From this point, this country either dies or it starts on a path that brings true prosperity forever. Everything that can make this country work should be in the conversation moving forward. Enough of this militaristic protectionism of government. We need to move forward. Nigeria is crying to move forward, because it has all it needs. |
Remove all subsidies and you guys would still be extremely clueless. You've not been able to utilize the resources currently at your disposal, and you think the solution is more. Funny. |
Commendable. But this is a short term plan. What exactly is the actual plan for the future? Since the President declared a state of emergency, it is yet to bee seen the investments made in the sector to improve it. We are tired of these psuedo-solutions. We need something enduring and lasting ooo! |
If the economy responds to your wishes it will. |
I'm impressed. Lecturers should give such options in exams to truly test students understanding of the course. |
ecolime:They probably won't. I have authoritative information that Aradel will commence payment of staff in USD starting this month or next. |
I live and work in Rivers state, and I'm also an indigene. I'm from the Ogoni ethnic extraction. To all my compatriots drumming support for this illegal, thoughtless and potentially subjugating peace deal, I hope you all stay alive and well to see the outcome. How dare you call allowing a brute and m0nster have his way, one that has nothing to do with the interest of the people and rule of law, peace? Because of N10million? Or it is the civil service job you got that has blinded your eyes to the reality of this utter nonsense put forward by the President? No! If that's what you call peace, gladly a whole bunch of us do not agree. That piece of paper won't fly with us, and would be tossed in the trash where it belongs. Let the President or Wike do their worst. We're waiting. It took three Presidents and whole lot of blood to quell the Rivers crisis that started in 2007. Let Tinubu and Wike push their luck against the same people who were at the frontlines of that conflict. SIM won't honor one thing in that document and nothing would happen. Has he withdrawn the cases in court? No. Has he publicly received the defected the lawmakers? No. Has he publicly declared that he would retrieve the budget already signed into law? No. Has he reappointed the ludicrous set of commissioners? No. He won't do any. You people will eat your peace. Just wait until Supreme Court judgement, and June. You guys had better removed him through the courts. Otherwise, tis going to be very long 3 years and 5months for you guys. Peace ko, peace ni. |
ednut1:It's unbelievable. |
Never in your life agree to do anything without the appropriate personnel appending their signature where they should. A field supervisor in a company here in PH needed to move certain equipment and personnel to the field. This is usually done after the manager must have signed. He called the manager, and he rebuffed him, demanding he moved to site immediately. The guy hesitated a bit, and after a while had to budge out of respect for the older superior. When the inspection team arrived the site they demanded for clearance papers from the field supervisor only to find it unsigned. His manager denied him outright. That's how that guy was undeservedly fired from an 800k/m job. Never ever skip organizational procedure no matter who asks you. Even in government. Because on the day of reckoning, you would be denied. Politician go look you ask you how you manage see N11m, money wey na him keep for your account o. |
Any amendment that doesn't change the provisions of the 1999 constitution (as amended) is a ruse. That's where the law courts always resort to. That's where the changes has to start. Any attempt at cosmetic change should be shunned, because it's not legally binding. |
Nigeria is a sad archetype of what a country should never be. How can a country whose electoral laws was amended only just a few months ago still grapple with this level of electoral rot and malfeasance? How come these issues were not anticipated and provided for in the amendment? How many amendments to the Electoral Act do we need to have an election process that doesn't plaster shame on the face of every Nigerian during elections? This is extremely foolish and incredulous. |
DARLINGTON869:Even if that was the case, how long does it typically take to wash a bathroom🚽? |
My brother, please listen. In the multitude of counsel it's hard to miss one's way. I suggest you read everything here with an open heart, and let God speak to your heart. "My girl is not like that", isn't a sound factual statement. What your lady is asking of you is probably one of the most reasonable things a lady can ask pre-marriage. Owning a house is a great achievement, to be honest. However, here are some concerns I have: 1) As narrated by you, she's vehemently insisting on building a house as a precondition for marrying you, even to the point where you require means to convince her otherwise. THIS IS EXTREMELY VERY BAD. Why? Owning a house is only one decision out of a gazillion both of you will make in a potential marriage. What else would her demand be? And if you think this is trouble enough, just wait till you tie the knot. There's a great risk attached to someone you would need great means to convince on key matters. Have you seen men controlled by their wives and vice-versa? This is exactly how it starts out. Like a joke. You need a partner in marriage, one who can be reasoned with, not a wall that's unyielding regardless of sound counter-opinion. She must see your point of view in every matter, even in this one. 2) Her proposal to contribute to the building project indicates a bit of financial constraint on your part. Are you sure you can afford a building project now? If no, consult with other people to change her mind, because her motivation may be fear from past experiences. Too many variables in this to ignore. If you are certain momentum can be sustained from start to finish within the shortest possible time, then go right ahead. Preferably with your money. Accept hers only after a real commitment has been made in a marriage setup. Do not go into that project with a dime of her money pre-marriage no matter how much she insists. If she acts funny along the way regarding this, then you know you're in trouble. Stop and re-evaluate that relationship. Let that be your own pre-condition. 3) If you can afford it, before embarking on the project, let her understand for a fact that you're doing it for the soundness of reason. Let her not nurse the idea that this is how things are going to be in the marriage - her always having her way. Sit her down and tell her to her face. 4) If you certainly cannot afford it at the moment, seek to know why she's insisting. Get to the bottom of the matter. 5) My brother, investment in assets beats liabilities. A house is an asset or liability depending on several factors. If your financial source gets affected today you'd be a hungry man in a house. Your house cannot put clothes on your back or food on our table unless you sell it off. The only difference between you and the guy sleeping in the streets would be the roof over your head. You'd still be hungry and desperate regardless. I have seen this with my own eyes. If your finances are intact you could invest and draw up a plan to build at a pace that doesn't put any pressure on you. I AM NOT PARTICULARLY HAPPY THAT SHE HAS A CONDITION IN PLACE TO MARRY YOU. TO DRAW AN ULTIMATUM ON SOMETHING AS THIS LEAVES A BAD TATSE IN THE MOUTH, NO MATTER HOW NOBLE THEY SEEM. |
I have never boarded a plane before. It's a dream I wish to see come true. I hope I do so soon. |
On the part of the general population, given Africa's leadership style you can expect more and more coups to happen soon. On the part of Africa political leadership, you'd be overestimating them if you think they're learning anything from the successive coups thus far. You have to understand that, to the African leader, he/she either holds on to power or the house burns right down. They never think about the alternative of good leadership. See how the AU and ECOWAS have carried themselves about the coup in Niger. They're tactfully evading the subject of good leadership and just beating the drums of war. Africa is in trouble. |
