PoliticsRe: Germany And Nigeria Population In 1980 Compared To Now by savcy(m): 4:05pm On Jul 12, 2023
Anyone stating our current population is a problem is either pro-Tinubu, being economical with the truth or flat out ignorant of the subject. Our population as it currently stands vis-a-vis our resources and level of productivity is very Ok. One major problem that compels us into thinking we're a poor nation: resource distribution.

Let's use the NDDC as a case study. Since its inception the agency has received nearly 21trillion in allocation. Does the ND look like 21trillion has come there? No! Not even East West road has been completed till date. 70% of that money ended up in local and overseas bank accounts. 70% of that money wasn't used for it's intended purpose. The result is poor infrastructure in the subregion, and poor infrastructure means low productivity.

We have the funds to finance an agriculture revolution that would put an end to importation of so many agric commodities we import, but the money we need to do this is domiciled in banks yielding interests that has no real economic impact. Elon Musk, Bill Gates etc. have most of their wealth tied to the value of their stocks, while most Nigerian rich people have billions in actual money lying in banks and doing nothing. Pension funds in bank accounts are in trillions, but they're not impacting the economy.

We have the money to industrialize, bit we are not. We have the money to increase SME productivity, but we don't. If a man has billions and refuses to share it judiciously across his family they'd starve.

dreamxhaser:
You dont know anything about population.

Nigerian population is underecorded
I beg to differ. Using data from the last general election, it would be overreaching to assume we're even more than 150m. 90m registered voters (which by the way consist of even deceased persons, I know this personally), and yet, under 25 million votes cast in one of the most keenly contested election since 1993. During an ARISETV post-election show a comparative analysis was done to display the efficacy of the BVAS, and I saw where some PUs in Delta State, which used to record 60k plus votes pre-2023 having less than 5k votes in the 2023 general election. Factor in the massive underage voting that occasions our election and you understand the point.

Reading comments thus far, I cringe at how Nigerians underestimate the type of politicians we have and how far they're willing to go to have a political advantage. Our population is terribly overbloated, especially down South. In fact, especially down South, we're soon going to experience a population decline due to urbanization.
PoliticsRe: Send NYSC DG To Prison - Enugu Governor Mbah Begs Court by savcy(m): 1:42pm On Jun 23, 2023
Joker. The tribunal is currently sitting and will need to cross examine every evidence, and the defendant is obligated by law to provide them. Sorry Mr. Mbah, but the courts cannot help you grant authenticity to an obvious fake certificate. You're in no-man's-land.
PoliticsRe: Plateau House Of Assembly Approves N15bn Loan For Gov. Caleb Mutfwang by savcy(m): 7:41am On Jun 23, 2023
N11b to pay salary arrears and for agriculture. One chance governor leleyi. How much is the wage bill of the entire civil service to warrant borrowing N11b?
PoliticsRe: DMO Worries Over Low Revenue As Nigeria’s Debt Nears N81tn by savcy(m): 7:30am On Jun 23, 2023
The debt is a cause of concern. I hope this new administration diversifies and expands our tax net. I'm still waiting to see their agric policy direction, because any serious government aiming to diversify would take agriculture very seriously.

My God, what on earth must have happened to such a high-tech vessel? It's just so depressing that help is searching for them, yet they cannot be found. Perhaps an animal got them. What kind of animal at that depth? Bugs my mind. Chai.
PoliticsRe: RMAFC Approves 114% Salary Increase For Tinubu, Shettima, Govs, Others by savcy(m): 3:30pm On Jun 21, 2023
We expect same level of generosity with the NLC-FG minimum wage negotiations. At least N70k minimum wage is expected.
PoliticsRe: You’re A Disappointment – Oba Of Benin Tackles Buhari’s Minister, Agba by savcy(m): 9:17am On Jun 21, 2023
Senators and ministers never fulfill their obligation of developing their states or regions. Especially Senators who actually receive funds specifically for this task. At least Amaechi ran the new train tracks through PH. Serious work is currently ongoing there.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Returns NEMA, NAHCON To VP's Office by savcy(m): 7:07pm On Jun 20, 2023
Commendable. For the first time since Y'ardua, I can actually hope for a better tomorrow. Buhari made us wake to bad news every single fortnight.
FamilyRe: My Husband Wants Us To Relocate To The Village by savcy(m): 4:38pm On Jun 20, 2023
This is the exact decision my late dad took months before he sadly passed on. I remember how scared I was at the prospect of living life in the village. In my case, I knew we weren't going to be there for too long, because my dad was a hard-working man, and he was a senior fire and safety officer before he was maliciously retrenched. But the fear was palpable in my family.

Marriage, for me, is too sacred a thing to begin to suggest anything that potentially compromises it. He's your husband, and you made the conscious decision to spend the rest of your life with him. Painful as it may be, it's for better or for worse. So you have to leave with him. Give him that honour, and when you arrive there be the brains of the house. Kickstart a plan to return to the city, and find anything right you can do to actualise that plan. If there's a will, a way pops up. It's a rule of life that never fails. Sad what men turn out to be these days. Your husband has no right to unilaterally take that decision, but be kind to him. He will one day remember your acts of kindness and reward you.

If you have anyone you can speak to that could speak to him, please do well to explore that option. Although, from your description of him that may likely be fruitless. But give it shot anywho. I feel sorry for you , because I have been there.

Praxis758:
Which town in Kwara?

Honestly, the core northerners do not see anybody from Kwara or Kogi who is not not a Muslim as bonafide NORTH CENTRAL.

The northerners will see this new custom CG as a Yoruba man from South west because of his name.

This logic is the reason Bukola Saraki always add ABUBAKAR to his name in order to gain acceptance from the northerners.
And who cares? We want a functional country, and any other agenda is tertiary.
PoliticsRe: Use Of Power: Sen Shehu Sani Callout On Former President Gen Buhari Rtd by savcy(m): 11:26am On Jun 20, 2023
Buhari's government was epically docile and lifeless. The country was compelled into an abrupt lull state the day he set foot in Aso rock. Tueh.

PoliticsRe: FG To Dissolve Boards Of Federal Agencies, Parastatals by savcy(m): 3:23pm On Jun 18, 2023
I give it to Tinubu if this true. Wipe out the old guard and constitute a new one loyal to your visions and policies. No serious President won't shake up the civil service, because they're the beginning and end of any and all policy direction.

PoliticsRe: Governors Were Using Me To Seek 3rd Term For Themselves - Olusegun Obasanjo by savcy(m): 1:12pm On Jun 18, 2023
One thing I never like about this man is his inability to accept responsibility for a wrong, whereas he and his ilks are the reasons for all that's happening in Nigeria till tomorrow. They introduced election fraud, wanton embezzlement, irresponsible NASS-ing, political killings...name it. The only thing he did of note was allowing investors into the telecoms sector. What else do we remember him for? He still holds the record for the government to oversee the biggest decrease in value of the naira to the dollar at nearly 600%. Ask him why he refused Nigeria's biggest economy by state allocation for months, and I'm so sure he'd blame someone else.

It's hard not to notice the growing nuisance value of theses pranks. Some are just too uncivil and disturbs public peace. Trust Nigerians to go overboard when doing things.

So the freedom the West preaches is one where any practice they deem to be right/appropriate must be universally accepted? Who made them the moral compass of the entire multiracial and multiethnic world? This is nothing but tyranny.
PoliticsRe: If You Visit The EFCC Headquarters You Will Think That You Are In Northern Niger by savcy(m): 11:06am On Jun 16, 2023
Federal character fizzles into thin air in those agencies, and that's how they've managed to run every single MDA aground due to an abysmal recruitment process that places ethnic extraction before competence.
PoliticsRe: How Top Military Officers Pressured President Tinubu To Drop Nuhu Ribadu As NSA by savcy(m): 10:59am On Jun 16, 2023
lhordspy:
Ribadu, the security adviser to Tinubu will still be performing the same task & function as NSA(National Security Adviser). He will be operating from ONSA(Office of the National Security Adviser). The only difference is that, the intelligence agencies ( NIA, DSS, DIA ) will be reporting directly to Tinubu now, instead of the NSA. Which means wont be having NSA.
They probably don't understand why Tinubu is appointing SAs he trusts. Their suggestions is what the President would consider most when taking decisions.
PoliticsRe: How Top Military Officers Pressured President Tinubu To Drop Nuhu Ribadu As NSA by savcy(m): 10:53am On Jun 16, 2023
To be fair, they're right. An ex-policeman cannot head a body that every security agency answers to. However, Tinubu must do well to appoint a southern Christian veteran as NSA boss. There seem to be this sympathy for insurgents that pervades that office. Let's have a Southern Christian this time.
PoliticsRe: Okowa To Clark: I Don't Own A Bank, Didn't Fund Atiku Campaign With N150bn by savcy(m): 10:49am On Jun 16, 2023
Okowa used Delta State funds that they didn't even have, because he borrowed a lot, to fund a campaign that was doomed to fail from the getgo. Nothing can justify borrowing billions few months to his tenure expiration.
PoliticsRe: Emefiele Implicated Suspended EFCC Head, Bawa In Naira Redesign Scam by savcy(m): 10:42am On Jun 16, 2023
All the while I was thinking Emefiele was one guru doing the nation a service with all his policies. Nigeria's technocrats disappoint in public offices too much for comfort. Also, the youngest EFCC chairman let the youths down.
PoliticsRe: Meet President Tinubu's Special Advisers by savcy(m): 10:39am On Jun 16, 2023
Impressive list I must say. Every portfolio fits their discipline and career background. The last administration appointed a Minister who knew nothing about his ministry's functions and had to learn on the job for 8 years.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Is 3rd Generation Politician, Coupists Generation Is Gone by savcy(m): 10:26am On Jun 16, 2023
The last election paraded the best-four front liners since 1993. Every single candidate would have have done well, but Atiku ranks the least.

PoliticsRe: What Will Be The Impact Of CBN Free-floating Naira Policy To The Economy? by savcy(m): 8:56pm On Jun 14, 2023
The naira eased at N668-$1at the I&E window today. I don't anticipate a drastic loss in value of the naira at all, and among many reasons, it's the fact that people don't seem to understand that no one actually knows the true value of the naira. Yemi Osinbajo mentioned once that, if export volume determined strength of currency, why didn't the naira gain value when oil hit north of $95/b. Several unconventional factors determine the value of the naira with the BDCs being the principal element in the intricate structure that's the Nigerian FX market. Artificial scarcity is another culprit. I think the market would stabilize, and if a rapid loss in value ensues, the government knows precisely what to do. All in all, as scary as it may seem, the policy is a step in the right direction.
