It's a good one, but yet again, another act from poor judgement by Atiku and his team. If you're appointing a regional campaign head, it's important that they have influence across their region, and serve as foot soldiers. Adeleke, though a person of influence, is barely a few weeks into office and is still trying to gain control over his government, especially with his HA in the opposition. Also, he has to hit the ground running (unlike Soludo) to excite the Osun people. He obviously has his plate full at the moment, and then Atiku appoints him campaign head. Where's the time? I don't know who Atiku's strategists are, but they're not doing a great job so far. |
Leadership of Nigeria will not return to the North in 2023. People who don't know this know very little about Nigerian politics. The elites understand balance of power, and are well aware of the implications of returning power to the North for another 8 years. It would completely destabilise the country one way or another. Nnamdi Kanu alone has completely destroyed the East, it would be foolish to cause the South-South and South West to join in being agitated. Balance of power is a principle the elites never joke with by reason of their stake in the country. If Peter Obi doesn't win, Tinubu will win. Power will shift to the South in 2023. Expecting different outcome is naive. |
You have to give it to Tinubu and the APC, they sure do know how to politick. They seem to be two steps ahead of the pack. Worth learning, even though they're terrible administrators. |
I don't know what these politicians take Nigerians for. You stay completely away from national issues for three whole years, and then when it election time you start consoling and identifying with all and sundry, as if they really care. Bunch of desperadoes. This is hypocritical, especially coming from someone who deleted his tweet about late Deborah. We're waiting at the polling unit. May God keep us all till that day. |
I sometimes wonder how Amaechi, in spite of all his experience in politics, still makes kindergarten mistakes in elections. From his spat with Magnus Abe, to having no valid APC candidate in the 2019 general elections, and now to this. If INEC does not observe your primary, it's a futile exercise. He's my best Rivers State governor ever, but his constant silly mistakes in elections is just annoying. He's singlehandedly giving the state over to a man who has never been seen in public! |
If oil is the principal exchange commodity of the country, and the assumption is that the value of our currency is tied to the price per barrel of oil, how come the Naira plummets in value arbitrarily, and without explanation, all when the price of oil is high? What sort of economy are we operating? A country that celebrates BLACK MARKET fx rates to the detriment of her OFFICIAL fx rates cannot be taken seriously. We're still joking with our fiscal policy with the BDCs still around. Redesign notes, raid BDC offices... All will amount to nothing on the long run. When all is said and done, and the dust settles the hydra headed demon called the BDCs would again rear up their ugly head and wreak financial havoc. Jokers! |
The political class has long taken this country for a ride. Businesses emboldened to flout laws because of their connection to one powerful man or the other. I don't know where the resolve to bear down on these illegal practices came from, but I hope it does continue. |
If not for the economy and security, Buhari really tried. |
Nice one. |

What in the world gives a person the courage to take life? He was probably trying to escape poverty hook or crook. And now, he won't escape the hangman and the noose. I don't pity him one bit. |

Tinyemeka:Good morning, sir. Any progress so far? |

Why wouldn't he dance? Another four years of free money for doing virtually nothing. |
Jflex07:You can do better. |
He knows he can't win the election on the platform of LP. If I were him, I'd retreat, reflect and think about ways I'd take advantage of the exposure and support I've garnered and mount a credible 'assault' come 2027. Like it or not, the man Peter Obi is already a household name, and it'll only get better from here. But, as far 2023 goes, he's done. |
Oga go and answer your case. Your ambition ends here. |
Addiction of any kind sucks the life out of its host. Especially gambling and masturbation. |
I can't believe that the South is negotiating the Presidency. This is appalling. |
You've been shortlisted. However, I doubt if you can successfully complete your biometrics at this point. |
This really shouldn't be a problem for anyone that's focused and living a goal-oriented life. Statistically speaking, the ratio of potential ritualists and the genuine men/women is like 1:1000. With the exception of Edo, Delta, Ogun and maybe Port Harcourt, ritual killing isn't such a menacing problem elsewhere. Permit my stat but, you're 70% likely to have social relationships with a genuine man/woman out there. The news does not quite reflect the true state of society today. Having said that, the real issue here is the greed/indiscipline that's plagued the younger demographic. Guys wanting to sleep with anything in sight and add them to their list of conquests. On the part of ladies, social media has succeeded in twisting so many minds that they're simply detached from reality. There's this trend to want to marry someone with a car(s), someone who's affluent enough to meet their mundane needs, etc. And there's where the real problem is. Very few desire to go with a man through the phases of life, where you struggle financially for some time, then you get stable, then you get affluent. Some ladies want a man that's already affluent at 28. They don't bother to scrutinise the source of the wealth, they just want to be comfortable. Unexplained wealth will kill you. And that's what's been killing so many. So many people get married every other week, and let me say this, a lot them started from the scratch together. If along the way the man starts having access to unexplained cash, you should be smart enough to ask the right questions, and if the answers you're getting doesn't satisfy you, bounce! Some don't bounce due to what their profiting, and ultimately that's how they lose their life. |

The US of course will supply the weapons, invariably putting back the money into their economy, while Ukraine would fight with the weapons, and destroy their own country. ![]() |
Part of the reason the government of this country grounds the nation to a halt on election days is, they know if they allow movement and economic activities on election days, total voters won't add up to even 3 million. |
ANDREW91:Seriously doubt that. I was a PO in the North in the last election. Those people don't care about Buhari as you may think. They vote party a lot over there. |
Hear this from a neutral. If rumours of PDP zoning its Presidential ticket to the North is anything to go by, I think that the party is set for yet another disaster in 2023. In spite of all President Buhari's misdeeds and poor handling of the country from 2015-2019, the APC was able to attain 25% votes in some PDP enclaves. Majority of Atiku's votes came from the South (Atiku's perceived strong hold). Now, you have to factor in that most of Atiku's votes came in as a spite on the Buhari candidacy. In 2023, the calculation will be very different, and I don't think the PDP is taking cognisance of this fact. I feel their decision to zone the Presidential ticket to the North is predicated on a fear of losing, and not on sound political calculations. Because, in the last 7 years the game shifted from the North to the South. No well meaning Nigerian, North or South would vote a northern candidate. And from way I see it, most of the PDP governors couldn't care less which party wins in 2023. After all, they have the senate they can always run for. |
What we're they going to say? |
The corruption that's crippled this country has made news like this one of little or no interest to the people. The moment news like this one comes, all one can think of are the kick backs and kick backs of kick backs that'd be going into the pockets of the ogas, if the project even sees the light of day. A great nation ruled by her enemies. |
