I was an ardent supporter of PMB in 2014/2015. I wanted nothing but his presence in Aso Rock. After his first six months and no minister had been appointed, I convinced myself that it was a sign of the thorough process of selection that was the reason. I had really high hopes. But after 8 years, I can say without equivocation that he is the single biggest mistake this country ever made. To his credit, he did a bit well in infrastructure development, but his naivety in socioeconomics and security is unforgivable. He plunged this nation into abject penury in a space of 8 years! GEJ would have done significantly better with the same funds borrowed. Buhari had liver to raise VAT by 50% in the middle of a pandemic!!! That's when I knew the man was a mon.s.ter. He failed spectacularly. His failure made me nurse less fear of the fortunes of the next President, because, there's no possible way to fail as well as PMB did. |
Wike is a totalitarian drunk, but what he said is absolutely true. If PDP rewards Dino with the Kogi guber ticket they would lose spectacularly. Well, they can always try. |
Freshtruth:What are you on about?? You think the world doesn't already know what's going on here? The entire NPF is categorised as a criminal organisation by the Canadian Parliament. Obviously you've never been a victim of the Nigerian system. You have never been turned down for a remote job that pays well for the singular reason that you're a Nigerian. You have never been a victim of police case handing. You have never lost a sick person to the abysmal health services in the country. You probably love to sort your way through university. You have never had a loved one kidnapped. In other words, you know nothing about your country. |
I salute his courage to speak the truth. Now let's sit back and watch the people enjoying corruption to cancel him. Every sector in this country is riddled with theft and corruption, from the government to the civil service, to the church/mosque, to markets, etc. We take pleasure in taking undue advantage of people in need of help. |
In my first one year: 1) Executive bill to NASS for the enactment of state policing 2) Executive bill to NASS for the complete removal of rail services from exclusive list to concurrent list (I think this has been done) 3) "Federal roads" would be abolished, as I would send a bill to the NASS to ensure states own roads within their borders. 4) Build world class technical institutes, review their curriculum and overhaul the entire system 5) Send a bill to NASS to mandate all MDAs to post monthly reports of their projects and expenditures, to which defaulting can attract suspension of the Minister/Perm Sec. 6) Complete overhaul of the military. 7) Review primary and secondary curriculum NNPC will be repositioned to be an 'ordinary' regulatory body. 9) Extensive tax reforms. 10) One economic summit every quarter - both home and overseas. 11) Create a ministry of Veterans 12) Hold quarterly tech summits and empowerment of businesses in that sector. 13) Send executive bills to the NASS to completely overhaul our labour laws 13) Overhaul the Nigerian customs, maritime and port laws and operations 14) Create an agency specifically tasked with unpatrolled border area protection, acquire border patrol copters and rough terrain vehicles. 15) Adopt the Uwais report on elections 16) Adopt the Orosanye report on Civil service reforms 17) Massive collaborations with state governments and private companies to construct large scale electricity, agricultural and infrastructural projects. 18) Create a ministry specifically for handling new businesses coming into Nigeria. etc...etc |
No issues with it at all if it is executed in a transparent manner. The biggest problem with the NNPC's operations in Nigeria is the fact that they are the sole importers of petroleum products into the country, as if it's an exclusive preserve. Marketers buy from them amidst all the charges and then sell to retail filling stations. The best thing to do would be to allow independent importers do that to encourage price competition, but no. That can't happen with NNPCL being the sole shareholder in that sector. It's insane. |
Absolutely nothing. And the populace knows it too. |
Subsidy is the biggest scam in the history of this country, second only to the operations of the NNPC. No one has accurate data of the volume of petrol Nigeria uses. We pay subsidy claims using arbitrary data - the height of leadership ineptitude. Rather than take up the responsibility to conduct proper forensic audit and obtain credible data, thereby curbing the inflated figures, the FG wants to bring the entire country to pay for their irresponsibility by ending subsidy entirely. Subsidy was removed for DPK and AGO, and till date no one can point out how the nation has profited from that action. Concerns that proceeds from the removal of subsidy may go the way of its predecessors are genuine, and in fact true. Subsidy must stay by all means. If government judiciously utilizes the available funds in their keeps we would have adequate funds to do a lot of we want to. Buhari bailed out states, paid subsidy claims, paid retired/forgotten FG workers, and initiated projects when oil was trading at $25/barrel and exchange rate hovering around $1=N400. What justification do we have to stop subsidy now that oil trades for $85/barrel? Subsidy is perhaps the only thing Nigerians benefit from their country at the expense of government and must be protected. When will this country be serious? |
I can do the job. |
Buhari would be leaving Nigeria better than he met it -Adesina KPMG: 41% Unemployment rate, buddy. 41%! |
She was always sounding all philosophical and stuff on Facebook, so I thought to slide into her DM. Woman can't even string two sentences together in the DM. I realized that day that a lot of these ladies do copy&paste quite a lot, and lack an original thought. |
engrsyer:Yes, that's ongoing. The exercise shouldn't exceed this month. Wike ordered the commission to conclude the process of employment in 2-3weeks. |
Rrchrd:Try and check the sizes of your files. Also, maybe you can try it late in the night. |
Economic prosperity and exemplary leadership across all strata of government. At the base of all the various agitations, hate, bigotry, crimes et al. in Nigeria is the people's reaction to years of oppression, poverty and poor leadership. We're basically just venting on ourselves, nothing else. No one actually cares about who leads Nigeria. The reason it seems we do is because our leaders have failed to make basic provisions available. If Nigeria industrializes today and 70% of the population become gainfully employed, no one would care if the FEC is composed of Easterners or Northerners. Try working in a company with great working conditions. You won't even remember Nigeria exists. |
I applied smoothly yesterday. Lets hope Wike does not botch this one like he did the others. |
tonyangel2012:In about 4-5 days time |
gold360:That's a wrong information. www.rscsc.ng is the correct recruitment portal. |
No link to your source. This is not making FP. |
He seems a good man. Given that he lost his seat the last time from a court injunction, why doesn't he give it another go, and perhaps correct the mistakes made in the past? I fancy him somewhat. |
I didn't realise it would be as lengthy as this video depicts. This is really something if we're being honest. Very much worth the wait. As a Rivers State citizen, I can't help but admire how far Lagos has come. They're closer to the Nigeria of our dreams than most in the country. I just wish Rivers State had this type of purposeful governance. Down here we have the resources but pour it all on trivialities that doesn't help the socio-economic status of the state. Lagos is indeed on the right track. |
A person that can write this good is working as a security personnel! I don't know if you or the country is to blame for your situation. But I sure do know you're wasting in a security job. Try teaching or something else that can utilise your skills. Life can be hard, but you're not security job material. You're way better. |
Not one site is working. As usual, Wike has scammed Rivers people again. |
Localemperor:You must think being Yoruba or of any tribal extraction for that matter offers advantage of some sort. How narrow-minded can one get? Not even people born in advanced countries feel that way. You're just a statistic of people who have been deceived by their leaders that tribal affiliations offer some kind of leverage in the real world. The last time I checked, even your big men fly abroad to treat malaria. Typical African mentality that leads nowhere. |
Prior to this election one the factors that really piqued my interest and enthusiasm was the new Electoral Act. And after Prof. Mahmood's Chatham House expose, I couldn't be more hyped for the elections to arrive. I had so much hope that Nigeria finally had laws that would, to an appreciable measure, discourage election malpractices. I even went out of my way to encourage every single person at work, home and church that cared, across all political divide, to come out and vote in both elections as their vote was certain to count. But with the prevailing evidences of the IREV conundrum, violence and ballot box snatching in both federal and state elections the contrary is the obvious case. Given the inglorious history of elections we've had in the past, and the Electoral Act created to mitigate most of the factors responsible, how come this election cycle has failed to meet expectations? |
This is by far the worst election in the history of my dear state. Posterity will judge Wike for this blatant abuse of power. |
People shouldn't fret much about tomorrow. The APC has achieved what they want with the BVAS in the Presidential election. Tomorrow's one will be credible and fair. Mahmood cannot afford to mess up twice. |
Exercise in futility. Atiku should be advised to keep the funds he has left rather than engage in a wild goose chase. The PDP is the only party everyone is certain lost, and so badly. |
Too much talk from man who has a court case. He's only just going to make his defeat at the courts more excruciating. He best pipe down a bit and keep the talking low. If he really knew the one with whom he has a case, he would be a tad more careful. |
Hand down, Buhari is the best in terms of infrastructure since 1999. He had great ministers in Fashola and Amaechi. His greatest mistake was keeping Malami, Emefiele, Buratai and Ngige longer than they should have stayed. |
Anything to seize the state from that drunk tyrant is welcomed. No gratuity, no pension, no promotion, no scholarship, no jobs... Just flyover in Obio/Akpor that he profits from through kickbacks. Say no to the tyrant's third term agenda. |

Napata77:With all due respect, you just confirmed what the OP said. If after 23 years of democracy we can only compare with places experiencing war or anarchy, then the poster is right. Nigeria is truly the worst place on earth pretending to be a constitutional democracy. |
NNPC will be repositioned to be an 'ordinary' regulatory body.
