@ sagamice. Dude if you know anything about psychology you will understand that after that goal, Mozambique players were frustrated, tired and lost. They came out to play because a draw or win gives them a chance qualifying for the Nations Cup. We won the game by 1 goal, at the end of the day, if the Tunisians draw with Mozambique for the final qualification match qualification will be decided by goal difference. We currently do not have an advantage over the Tunisians on this front and a second goal could have well made the difference. I don't know about you but giving the psyche of the Mozambique's we could have scored another goal even if it was 3min left. The celebrations lasted almost 2mins.
Goals difference does not come between Nigeria and Tunisians now. We are currently level on goals diff, whatever happens in the last games, they need to either draw or lose and Nigeria will need to win by even a 0.5 goal margin which will take us over them. There was no need to look for the 2nd goal and expose your already weak defence. It took us 93 minutes to find a goal and you expect them to look for another in 2 minutes. You must be a die hard optimist to think that could happen with this SE. |
Helloooooooo, Agreed this performance is well below expectation. But we needed a win and we got it. The boys are also aware of their below par performance, hopefully they will improve. Could it also mean that the Mozambiquans are a decent team. If they are, that is a plus for the eagles cos we cant count on them to pick a draw or win against Tunisian in Maputo, moreso when thay still have the nations cup slot to fight for. The BIG question is ; Can this super Eagle win away in Kenya. Rember a win is teh ONLY result that can make us progress, anything less, we are out. Whether we qualify or not. This team and it's coaching crew need a complete overhaul for them to stand any chance at even at the nations cup. |
Who is the best Nigerian player. i hope ww will now agree what the answer is. OSAZE OSAZE OSAZE OSAZE |
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal |
Truth be told, the mozambiquans are a better team. |
Are the Mozambiquans more than us on the pitch ![]() ![]() |
Gayigaskia:Who do you want to see on the pitch, Drogba, Essien, Muntari or Toure. Wake up man, Nigeria is not what it used to be in football. |
With Martins on, things are begining to change. |
The only player that is doing anything good in the Super eagles is Osaze, half Russian, half Nigerian. Is anything wrong with Nigerians ![]() ?? |
How about lieing to the eagle that kenya's are leading Tunisia. May be that would ire them up!!!!! |
I was hoping the eagles will at least prove their critics (including me) wrong today, but on the evidence of this 1st half, Hmnnnnnn. Let's wait for them to do something in the next half. |
Tunisia is already 1 goal up. Go eagles (I mean the carthage eagles of Tunisia) |
@Princek12. I see you have issue with Ibadan people and Akala has given you the perfect opportunity to settle your scores. Akala is a bad governor and everybody that has responded to this post affirms this. However, whatever issues you have with Ibadan people, you should have tried to state your opinion rather than trying to distort facts about Ibadan people in your post. Akala is not from Ibadan. He came into office after the controversial votes from Ogbomosho and Oke Ogun were declared valid at the appeal court. Ibadan people massively voted against his candidacy. If only our votes count in this country, Akala will not be in office today. The candidates from Ibadan were Senator Ajimobi (ANPP) and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja (AC) both of these are graduates. Contrary to your distorted fact that the only graduate governor in Oyo state was Bola Ige, may I remind you that Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, Lam Adesina and Rasheed Ladoja (all whom you call illiterates) are all graduates from Ibadan. If you follow Oyo politics as well as you pretend to do, you'll definitely know that it was the do or die and Godfather politics of the PDP that imposed Akala on Ibadan and the people of Oyo state. This was a mas that was dismissed from the police for gun running and aiding armed robbers. Yet he was "elected a state gov. Ibadan people are not the best educated in Nigeria but definitely would not be found among the most backward and unexposed as you claim. By the way, our president and vice president are both graduates and I don't think they are governing Nigeria better than Akala is doing in Oyo state, afterall literacy does not automatically translate into good governance. Akala's debacle is not an excuse for anybody to summarily dismiss Ibadan people as backward people. |
Anybody currently watching the European qualifiers will know Nigeria is better off not qualifying for the World Cup. |
Mr. Blockhead talking again. |
See how success dey attract friends |
The man promised to create employment and is "delivering" on his promise to enhance his standing for 2011 elections. I'm not surprised at all as Akala's action is not the most stupid to have come out of Oyo state. Anyone remember Lam Adesina bought and distributed cutlasses to farmers as part of his "agricultural programme". One of the members of the state house of assembly recently launched his poverty alleviation programme where he distributed 200 crash helmets for Okada riders and the state governor was invited as special guest of honour. We have a big issue on our hand in this country, our rulers are just treating us as the proverbial slave that is being fed not to be fat but only to be strong enough to serve his master. |
Nigeria football, the only thing that make Nigerians forget their sufferings momentarily has also fallen to the axe. We are definitely capable of producing more than this debacle. I agree with the guy that says our football is under a spell. |
But ma point is simple. If Siasia had really wanted to win the match, he woulda won it without any hassles. Things shouldn't have gotten to 2-2 at 90+ mins. The Germans were a man down and under the cosh. Siasia shoulda introduced an extra striker. A third goal woulda damaged the morale of the Germans if Siasia had acted quickly.
I do not know the entire teamlist but I doubt if Siasia had another credible striker on the bench, otherwise our main striker had no business playing full 90 minutes when he could not force any decent save from the opposing keeper. It was the fire brigade approach that led o the assemblage of this team. With adequate preparation, a country with over 120Million people who hardly follow any other sport except football should be able to produce a team far better than this. The greater problem is we never learn any lesson. The next edition of the youth tournament is like to be worse as long as the NFF conyinue their rent seeking attitude. |
the viper:In my own opinion, Siasia still remains one of the best ( if not the best coach in Nigeria). What was wrong with this team was the assemblage. This team, it was obvious, is not a winning team. They lost to all credible opposition. I do not think it was any technical input that was lacking. Siasia got the team wrong. The boys did not play like Africans, not strong, too short and lack ideas going forward. Haruna was being touted as the next Okocha, that got to his head and he started playing fanciful football which led to the 3rd goal. The last man refused to sacrifice himself for the team ( get the red card and drag the game to extra time), he must have been scary of missing the next game that was not to be. Again you can't blame the coach for this. They simply are not good enough. I hope this defeat is not a dress rehearsal for the Super Eagles game this weekend. |
buffead:Football is not mathematics. If Brazil like, let them win 20-0, I would rather we won Germany today and when the time comes to face Brazil , it will be 11 men against 11. Costa rica qualified as the worst of the 4 best losers, today they are in the last 8 after beating one of the tournament's favourite, Egypt (2:0). Spain is already out. As a foorball fan, i will enjoy the game and as a Nigerian, i will pray and support Nigeria all the way to the final. |
category:Please don't be too hard on Tahiti. The country's population is about 200,000, something like the number you can find in Oshodi or Alaba on a busy day. They already won the competition by qualifying for the tournament ahead of other countries in their continent. |
Is it not ironic that Scholes got away with a deliberate handball last week at Stoke? and he was already on a yellow!! I would bet if Rooney did what Richardson did there he would not have been sent off but hey it coulda been worse a dubious penalty or 1 hour extra time coulda been added
It is becoming a weekly affair. Sir Alex already complained thet bthe refree did not add extra time after playing the extra time against Sunderland. He's now a god in the EPL. |
Fabregas is BACK. 3 assists and a goal. GOoooooo Gunners. Did somebody noticed Arsenal has scored 17 goals in 3 games at the emirates this season? |
biafara ;d ;d ;d ;d ;d |
If the boys can work on their shooting skills, they will overcome the Germans. The team is not as bad as it looked, they create enough scoring chances only to miss them, defensively, we are not bad too. I expect atough match but hope and pray the FE triumph. |
I just checked it on FIFA website, we are meeting Germany and not Ghana. I don't think the Germans are any easier than Ghana, our boys need to raise their game to stand any chance. |
It is officially confirmed that Nigeria's next opponent is Germany on 7th October. |
When you see a man opening the door of his car for a lady, it's either the car is new or the lady is new. |
When are they going to discover the husband. |
OvieE: zenus:It is one of Ghana, Uruguay or Germany. We will have to wait for the draw. |
