With Korea beating USA 3-0 and Germany beating Cameroon 3-0. We are almost qualified except either Uzbekistan or England wins by a 7-goal margin, a remote possibility. Siasia will need to start preparing his tattered team to face Germany, Ghana or Uruguay. These teams have all shown flashes of brilliance and preparedness. But Siasia has walked similar path before in 2005, only that his boys in this competition are anything but world beaters.

What was Henry's punishment for doing the same thing Adebayor did. vs Tottenham
@dayokanu,

I thought we have gone beyond this case. Please on behalf of all Arsenal fans, do not type Henry and Adebayor in the same sentence regarding Arsenal. One realises Arsenal was the best thin to happen to him while the other decided to bite the fingers that fed him. Arsenal football club is not authorise to punish players for misconduct, the FA does, you will need to direct your question to the FA.

Arsenal 4: 1 Blackburn . My prediction.

Where do u think we can/should start from? this is wat we NEED.we have to get rid of those scoundrels we hv as leaders n Godfather angry angry
The 3 Million man march in march was a good idea, unfortunately the organisers chose the wrong course and focus. The planned student naked protest in Abuja is a welcome development, however, we do not need to go naked to show our displeasure about the country's state of affairs.

Civil societies and human right groups are normally the catalysts for such revolutions which every other group and citizens desirous of changes would log unto. We did not need so much of organisers and persuasions to come out for the June 12 rallies in the mid 90's because we all realised we needed to act.

Niger Delta insurgence was going to become a revolution until criminality crept into the whole idea and discredit the struggle. Are we ready to face the struggle and perhaps pay some prices for the cause? Are we sincere enough to mount a campaign / struggle devoid of personal gains and selfish ambitions? Are we ready to support to movements for change irrespective of whether the champions are from the North, West or East?

Most Nigerians prefer to go into marathon prayer sessions for the country hoping that God will directly intervene to change the country; we are likely to remain like this until we realise that our destiny lies in our hands.

While Nigeria was celebrating Independence, China was celebrating her 60th anniversary of the great Chinese revolution. I think we need to do something drastic about Nigeria so we could also celebrate the revolution instead of this regretable Independence.

Damn, he looks really ill. If my husband was this ill i would make him resign and we would either look for the best hospital or hospice, or i will let him rest and recover, if its terminal i would want my husband to die in peace with all the love his family can give. Making him work is punishment, Turai, do something, your husband is dying, save him and enjoy your last momments together. This is so sad, now i feel sorry for him, the guy is suffering
You are talking love here, Turai is already planning for life after Yar'adua. what about all the daughters being married off to serving governors? What about the benefit accruing to former presidents? She knows her husband is sick, she's only trying to make the best of the situation. Or may be she just trying to keep her matital vows, TILL DEATH DO THEM PART.
Politics › Re: How Can I Revoke My Nigerian Citizenship? by saworoide: 3:20pm On Oct 02, 2009
@poster,

You have every right to think the way your are thinking. But if you are serious about it, you need to plan it well. If you denounce Nigeria today, then you are not a citizen of any country and should Nigeria retaliate to deport you, we will have nowhere to deport you to except Mars, Jupiter or the other planets where you don't need a visa. Get another citizenship before you start thinking this way, as at today you are a Nigerian and you better start thinking of how to make the best of it.

Marymos:
FBS my good friend how are u 2day?Can we still make it to the next round with the 5 -0 bashing of Tahiti?What are our chances?Your normal computation will be relevant for our consumption at this critical moment.
There are four places for best losers (best placed 3rd position in the groups). Group A has already produced 1 (Italy with 4 points). Nigeria in group B finished 3rd with goals difference of +2. In group D, both England and Uzbekistan have no point with goals difference of -5 and -4 respectively. Either of them need to win with a 7 goals margin to qualify ahead of Nigeria. Nigeria obviously stand a better chance.

We need one of Costa Rica, Cameroon, Hungary and USA to lose, then we would have finished ahead of at least 2 3rd placed team which is what Nigeria needs to advance.

The 5 banks currently under the axe now are BANK PHB, Spring Bank, Wema Bank and  Unity bank. I think people that have been suspicious of Sanusi on the Unity Bank issue can now give the man benefit of the doubt. He said he sacked the 1st st of the CEO's cause he was aware they about to seek court injunction refraining CBN from taking action against them. I won't be surprised if Atuche produce a court injunction today to protect himself. Then Sanusi would have to choose between disobeying a court order or doing his job the way he knows best.
Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Tahiti (5-0) Thursday 1 October 2009 by saworoide: 7:50am On Oct 02, 2009
The boys played better against Venezuela and Spain but they lost. The performance against Tahiti was poor but they got close to the desired result. However, if we do advance, they need to do something drastic as there are no Tahitis left in the round of 16. I just hope they do not take us further only to disgrace country big time against a more serious opposition.

Politics › Re: Security Officers Detain El Rufai's Family by saworoide: 8:43am On Sep 30, 2009
El-Rufai was not a saint, he had a job to do and he did it better than many Nigerians will do under the circumastance. He was accused of disobeying court order, I doubt if anybody will get any job done in that position without some excesses. We all know how our lawyer friend can use court injuctions to frustrate proceedings and make you achieve nothing. Odili's pertual injuction against investigation of his tenure as Rivers State Governor is classic example of rule of law?

To go after his family in tjis manner is not civilised at all and the authorities should stop portraying Nigeria as lawless countries.

Good performance from the boys, the only worry is the wastefulness in front of goal. Six points in the Kitty, I hope we can bets AZ Alkmar away and home in the next two games to ensure qualification. this would allow Arsenal to rest some players and concentrate on other competitions especially as FA cup is about to commence for the premier league clubs.
