TheAngry1:Where were you when Gbenga Daniel replaced Segun Osoba? You don't mind Fayemi replacing Fayose or Akeredolu replacing Mimiko. It is okay for a Christian to succeed another Christian but when a Muslim wants to succeed another Muslim...It becomes a problem to you. Be sincere for once please. |
Saraki is clearly not aware of his own reputation in the South West. In fact, almost all the current PDP candidates stand a better chance of making inroads into South West electorates than Saraki. He and his family are know to be traitors, he can't even get up to 10% of votes in any state in the SW against Buhari. He may have Ilrorin and Kwara in his pocket but that's all he can and should hope for. If he succeeds in manoeuvring his way to get the PDP ticket, that will be the end of his political career as he will lose so scandalously and won't be able to go to senate again. |
oyetunde22:Did you read my post at all? Where did I write in the post that the money includes "hiring of police officers which will include their logistics, miscellaneous and the rest". I only pointed out that the deployment of police covers beyond the 2 days of elections, it covers some days before and after election and I went on to break the calculation down for you. No wonder all you saw in the post N6B. Further evidence of laziness or poor comprehension. |
LAZINESS is the number one problem of most of us in Nigeria. Because we saw 6B Naira, we believe it must be too much even without any mental analysis of the purpose for which it is meant for. Please, step back and do a rough calculation before you continue displaying your ignorance of facts and figures. No less than 120,000 police officers will be deployed for the election, that makes it N50,000 per head or per police officer. The Police officers will be required for at least 10 days which include the logistics of movement and distribution of sensitive materials pre election, the 2 days of election and the days following the election for collation purpose, this will make it N5,000 per day for a police officer on duty and if you believe he or she should eat 3 times a day, that makes it about N1,700 per meal. Now, tell me this is too much for officers that are deployed for sensitive and critical duty like the election. Don't be lazy...use your brains. Stop shouting N6B without any regard for the scope of its usage. |
The main issue here is pointing out the bias of mainstream media outfits...CNN, BBC at al. This killer was simply described as a "deranged American soldier whereas if were the other way round, he is certainly a terrorist, Islamist or fundamentalist. Again, if any of the the children orphaned by this incident survives and takes up arms against America, the media would blame it on Islam. Ask America how many children have become orphans and rendered hopeless as a result of war on terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. |
In the days following the rogue US soldier’s shooting spree in Kandahar, most of the media, us included, focused on the “backlash” and how it might further strain the relations with the US. Many mainstream media outlets channelled a significant amount of energy into uncovering the slightest detail about the accused soldier – now identified as Staff Sergeant Robert Bales. We even know where his wife wanted to go for vacation, or what she said on her personal blog. But the victims became a footnote, an anonymous footnote. Just the number 16. No one bothered to ask their ages, their hobbies, their aspirations. Worst of all, no one bothered to ask their names. In honoring their memory, I write their names below, and the little we know about them: that nine of them were children, three were women. The dead: Mohamed Dawood son of Abdullah Khudaydad son of Mohamed Juma Nazar Mohamed Payendo Robeena Shatarina daughter of Sultan Mohamed Zahra daughter of Abdul Hamid Nazia daughter of Dost Mohamed Masooma daughter of Mohamed Wazir Farida daughter of Mohamed Wazir Palwasha daughter of Mohamed Wazir Nabia daughter of Mohamed Wazir Esmatullah daughter of Mohamed Wazir Faizullah son of Mohamed Wazir Essa Mohamed son of Mohamed Hussain Akhtar Mohamed son of Murrad Ali The wounded: Haji Mohamed Naim son of Haji Sakhawat Mohamed Sediq son of Mohamed Naim Parween Rafiullah Zardana Zulheja Nine of the 16 victims were children http://blogs.aljazeera.com/asia/2012/03/19/no-one-asked-their-names |
Breaking News: Ibori pleads guilty to money laundering charges February 27, 2012 by Agency Reporter Leave a Comment Former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, on Monday pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering at a Southwark Crown Court in London. An online medium, saharareporters, says Ibori pleaded guilty to 10 counts of fraud, money laundering and corruption before Judge Anthony Pitts. Ibori’s guilty plea has closed a chapter to a long judicial and political saga pertaining to his massive money laundering activities in his eight years as governor of one of Nigeria’s major oil-producing states. The former governor faces up to 10 years in a UK prison during sentencing, which will take place after the completion of the trial of his accomplice and financial advisor, Ghanaian-born Elias Preko. Today, the judge ordered that the remaining charges would remain on file. In a short submission, Crown Prosecution Service lawyer, Sasha Wass, QC, said the prosecution does not seek to go ahead with Ibori’s trial anymore, saying, ” Mr. Ibori has accepted the entirety of the prosecution’s case as it has always been set out.” More details later. |
A will apparently written by the late President of Libya, Muammar Gaddafi, has surfaced on his Seven Day News website. In the document, Gaddafi expressed the wish to be buried “unwashed in Sirte,” the town of his birth, next to “my family and relatives”. The will is said to be the only surviving copy of three identical testaments given to the former Libyan dictator’s relatives. According to a report by theBBC, the document was reportedly handed to the relatives, one of whom was killed, the second arrested and the third managed to escape the fighting in Sirte. The English translation of the will states: “This is my will. I, Muammar bin Mohammad bin Abdussalam bi Humayd bin Abu Manyar bin Humayd bin Nayil al Fuhsi Gaddafi, do swear that there is no other God but Allah and that Mohammad is God’s Prophet, peace be upon him. “I pledge that I will die as Muslim. Should I be killed, I would like to be buried, according to Muslim rituals, in the clothes I was wearing at the time of my death and my body unwashed, in the cemetery of Sirte, next to my family and relatives. “I would like that my family, especially women and children, be treated well after my death. The Libyan people should protect its identity, achievements, history and the honourable image of its ancestors and heroes. “The Libyan people should not relinquish the sacrifices of the free and best people. I call on my supporters to continue the resistance, and fight any foreign aggressor against Libya, today, tomorrow and always. “Let the free people of the world know that we could have bargained over and sold out our cause in return for a personal secure and stable life. We received many offers to this effect but we chose to be at the vanguard of the confrontation as a badge of duty and honour. “Even if we do not win immediately, we will give a lesson to future generations that choosing to protect the nation is an honour and selling it out is the greatest betrayal that history will remember forever despite the attempts of the others to tell you otherwise.” http://news.punchng.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=2265:gaddafi’s-will-found-‘bury-me-unwashed-in-death-clothes’&Itemid=542 This man remains contoversial even in death. |
@OP. Count your blessings and give praises to the good Lord. I have a friend who would give up everything to have any child at all, how much more of 3 girls. Relax and pray for the family instead of worrying yourself over what you have no power about. What if your have the 4th one, it turns out to be a boy and (God forbid) you lose him later, would you go for the 5th? |
Inspired, what is wrong with your number? I've been trying to reach you for the past few days. Please call me on 08039600481 |
When Van Persie was red carded for "kicking the ball after the whistle", I did not hear all these noise. Now, we can all see "cheating" when it was Real Madrid. We should all learn to condemn what is not good even when it does not affect us. Barca team is cheat well supported by the power that be in football. |
I can see a lot of people urging the dismissed police officer Akala to pack out of Agodi, me I just want him to cross to the other side of the road in Agodi : from the Goverment house to the State prison. The people of Oyo stated have voted and defended their vote to the right end. |
As Nigerians vote tomorrow, PDP looks set to eventually hijack the presidency for another 4 years despite all the agony they have inflicted on us in the past 12 years. However, my own vote will never be counted among the ones cast for another 4 years of PDP misrule. There is no pillow that is softer than a clear conscience. |
I've all along thought that the requirement is 25% of votes cast in 2/3 of the states. However, a preview of the election done by BBC says, if no candidates wins more than 50%, there will be a re-run. This looks more like simple majority. Does anyone have an idea of the specific requirement for victory in the presidential election? |
Hello Inspired, I need a Toyota Hghlander from 2009 to 2011 Model depending on the price. If you hae any available, kindly respond with pictures. |
he game has ended and nobody can change the results but the facts still remain that even though Barca were the better team by miles, the refree was clearly biased in favour of Barca. Despite all the ball possession and onslaught, Arsenal were going through before the refree show us he is a Barca fan. The red card was ridiculous to say the least. Even Goudiola (Barca coach) agreed it was a bad decsion. The refree is simply a cheat. |
Are we really serious about dislodging the PDP from Aso Rock. Election is in February, yet the main oppositions are battling withing choice of Vice President in Mid February. JEG has already started serious campaign acrross the country while the supposed competitors are still "preparing". I hate to say this but it will be a miracle for any of this unserious opposition to defeat GEJ in April. I forsee another 4 years of PDP misrule in Nigeria and we shall thoroughly deserve it when it comes. |
Who was responsible for the Bomb blast in Bayelsa State ![]() ??It is also Al-qaeda I guess. I'm not surprised that MEND is being linked to Al-Qaeda as FBI will hang anything unto Alqaeda to serve thair purpose. |
I had a similar encounter last year on Ore to Benin road. The police officer was trying to extort money from our bus driver and I looked at him scornfully. Unfortunately, his colleague saw me and confronted me as to why I "insulted the Nigeria police" with my looks. They threatened to arrest me and ensure I was jailed. One even threatened to kill me and label me armed robber. When I was that none of the co-passenger in the bus was ready to stand up for me, I had to apply wisdom and denied any wrong doing while apologizing fro any unintentional message my alleged look passed across. The officer then warned me to mind my business and never mess with any police again. The Nigeria police are always trigger happy on innocent citizen while they either avoid the criminals or even help them in their nefarious activities. May God deliver this country. |
Becomrich, are you a human being ? |
Adieu Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Ololade Olanbiwoninu Abinuwaye Adeyinka Barrister (MFR). For those who pay attention to the messages musicians pass across and not just the beats, you are surely one of the best to have come out of Nigeria music industry. Your over 130 albums including several hits are already a tribute to your accomplished life. My favourites are Dimensional Fuji and The Truth where he talked extensively on the socio-political problem of the country… 1st October 1960, t’a ti gba independence wa, E o so fun wa pe Omi inira ni, Ologun pelu civilian ni mo n bawi, eni yowu t’o ti le jolori ri, Ibi ti e ba wa de ree o a dupe, Eyin asiwaju orile ede wa, oju ngba wa ti fun yin, Bi Hausa ba selu ti dan moran, Bi Yoruba ba selu ti baramu Bi Igbo ba selu ti o gun rege Se ka yan delegation re Cotonuo, Abi ka re Togo leti mbi Abi ka fi emmissary ranse, Si Abidjan abi ilu Ghana kan wa bawa se, RIP Alhaji Agba, Mr Fuji himself. |
Gbawe:Ibori is a UK Passport holder. He is a UK citizen as well as a Nigerian. Let him go and face trial in his second country, afterall he has been cleared of all charges as far as Nigerian courts are concerned. Shikena |
Nigeria striker, Osaze, has proven himself in the EPL. Winning the player of the month award is no mean feat. Congratulations Osaze. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/w/west_bromwich_albion/9053910.stm |
I'm afraid for this country. There is so much hatred and animosity in the land. Take even Nairaland for example, you raise a national issue for discussion and before a page is full, the topic will be twisted completely to an ethnic or religious debate with people insulting one another. The country is almost 50 years and yet we can't agree to live together. The Federal Character issue shows lack of mutual trust and that we should not have been lumped together as a country. gadafi may be right afterall, |
I have never seen blasphemy like this before. |
This Arsenal side can't really win Chelsea. |
Chelsea's defence is using juju. |
What a life filled with achievements. RIP |
I don't know what the noise about Nigeria and electricity is all about. Is it compulsory to follow the world order? We are about to show the world a new civilisation. |
Having gone through the interview, I can't see any reason why people are raising such alarm on this forum. The truth is that most people on this forum have just heard what they had wanted to hear. There is nothing new in what Pastor. Bakare has just said. I have heard and read the same thing about Bishop David Oyedepo and Pastor E.A Adeboye since 1996 from the same Pastor Bakare. It is not new that Pastor Tunde Bakare does not like anything about these two great apostle of Christ. The reason, I don't know. The summary of all he said about Bishop Oyedepo is that he doen't believe in Anointing Oil, Mantle and feet watching which is not a big deal but just his understanding of the scripture. I would also advice anyone that want to have an independent opinion about this to read the book that Pastor Tunde Bakare is condenming. I believe it is titled " THE MYSTERY OF THE ANOINTING OIL" Just open your mind and be independent while reading and look at the verses of the scriptures. Issues he raised with Pastor E.A Adeboye seems to hinge on the fact that Pastor Bakare believes that he was the one that receive the vision for Redeem's growth. God is a faithful God and I believe he could also lead Pastor Bakare to grow his ministry much bigger than Redeem. Everyone has freedom of speech and opinion and anyone that is expecting a war of words will wait till eternity. I'm definitely sure that neither Bishop Oyedepo nor Pastor Adeboye would respond to all these. I must also tell you that this things are not new and it doen't signify any crisis in the body of Christ. If you are a Christian and after reading this, you Faith is shaking, I want to encourage you to see all these as part of the devices of the devil. Now that your miracle is around the corner, don't be discourage. Nothing is new under the heaven. Be strong and keep moving in Faith. God Bless you all
The bold part says it all. Some people can not just serve or worship God unless they think of Miracles. Whatever happens to the statement attributed to Jesus in the bible that it is only evil and adulterous generations that always seek miracles. |
