Kindly proceed to floor..... It must have settled enough.

For benefit of doubt... Empty 1 tank of water on it, a day b4 and see if the water finds any escape route under..

Hello chief . When doing German floor after the foundation has been filled with filling sand and allowed to settle for 6months, would it still be necessary to rammer it b4 settle the level for the German floor n pouring concrete?

Ps: in this scenario the bungalow has been raised up to the leveling n even roofed.

At this stage, as described by you... EVEN IF you rammer it has little or no effect.

Proceed with your German Floor, six month in a raining season is more than enough.

please can someone let me know what they think about the usage of cement for my plastering work
My plastering guys have used up 35 bags of cement to plaster the internals of a 2 bedroom flat with each rooms having toilet and bathroom and plastering of under decking for flat. I think the cement usage is much and i am not there to monitor this work. can someone who have done similar work share what their experience is like in terms of the cement usage...

i have 3 units of 2 bedrooms to still plaster including the external walls, with the way they are going i may spend ore on cement.
my current cement and sand ratio is 1:10 - 1 bag of cement for 10 head pan of sand.

please help!!!

I actually don't think they've used more than they shd...

If you give me the surface area or linear lenght, I can calculate the quantity for you...

But 35 for a standard 2 bedroom under a decking is not much....

That been said.... It can be calculated to be triple sure.

On paper 1:2:4 for example is eg 1 wheel barrow of cement to, 2 of sand and 4 of granite.

But if you do this in practice, you have a bad mix.

I don't know how to explain it than asking that you try it out.....

If its wood they've given you all the options, if it's concrete tiles is a cheap option.

The 1st question people should be asking you is.

Is the building existing and what's the roof structure like.

Its necessary to ascertain if there's room for the insulation pipes and air vent etc etc.

The answer can then help u get better advice.

Eg of its a flat or concrete roof then I doubt it's possible.

Really, all cases shd be done with by now at the tribunal.....

Yes, you can explore this option if

1. You have plan to continue the project without break ie.. No rest for 6 months to resume later etc

2. You have a covered place where you can stack materials.

Items that can be purchased ahead include Iron rods, Roofing sheets, Cement, Windows and doors, Tiles etc.

But, you'll need a safe and covered storage to avoid wear and tear/fading etc

Thank you. I've been away. We've started the foundation to dpc yesterday, no work today and we'll finish tomorrow... We later adjusted the plan to reduce the lobby length... So one room, kitchen and kitchen store and kitchen veranda at the back... One room ensuite... Two rooms using one toilet... Visitor toilet at the entrance veranda...all toilets on one side of the building, facing south... I'll create a thread one day to share progress and experience

Hello. Thank you for your feedback... I adjusted the plan to include visitors toilet at the entrance veranda and a 3 foot wide lobby with window only facing kitchen veranda to provide some visibility and ventilation for the main lobby...

Hi. It's difficult to estimate from just a pics or 2. Estimation involves actual size... The pictures do not say how big a building actually is. Ie floor area.
