I use Access gold (Visa) dollar card and it's been an awesome experience so far. I've never had to have any payment declined, even on the IRCC portal. This is my experience, yours may be different but I think it is worth a try
Please how long does it take to get one. I've only one week left to submit . The public holiday has stolen one day off it undecided

Please can I pay for SINP using a virtual dollar card? Such as Geegpay online card? My UBA dollar card is soo useless. Ive gone to the bank several times to complain but they seem unable to troubleshoot it. It keeps saying "Card is restricted, please contact your bank". I wonder what could probably be restricting a card I had just recently acquired - less than two months undecided

It is expected of an applicant to disclose every information required of them. If you do not state a sibling in the required section, you will be unable to sponsor them to Canada at anytime in the future. I don't think you have anything to lose by declaring.
Thanks!

Please, in the section on the Additional Family Information Form, is it compulsory to state siblings, will not stating them now affect their chances of claiming a relationship in the future?

Hi House,
I would like to know how else one can pay for PNP application online. I have a payment of $350 to make. Is it allowed to pay using online payment platforms such as Geegpay or Flutterwave? My USD card isn't working and I've been to the bank repeatedly to complain. They have tried troubleshooting to no avail! seriously, our naija banks nor dey try at all. I was totally pissed with the way they were all fidgeting. None of them seem to be able to understand what was wrong. I left angrily! I began to believe the story that their good IT hands have all left! undecided

Please how else can one pay? huh

Hi Please,
If you are uploading bank statements to show evidence of salary paid into bank accounts, is it compulsory to obtain statements printed and endorsed (stamped) from the bank or can you simply download a copy using your online platform, and use it?

secondly, is there any maximum MB size for files that can be uploaded? The pages for all these documents seem much. undecided

Hi House,
Please I got Saks SINP. Am I expected to upload my spouse's IELTS? My spouse's IELTS is currently being remarked. If this document is necessary, can I make use of the IELTS Ref. number while it's being remarked ? We have yet to hear any update about the outcome of the remark? I thought that since I didn't claim any point from her IELTS there was no need uploading hers. However, I read in another blog that it's required. I'm kinda confused. undecided. I might have to decline and get back into the pool.

there are no points for spouse work experience unless its gotten in Canada. only state it in personal history after ITA, no documents required. Don't include it in the initial express entry profile , only state after ITA in personal history.
Thanks.

Actually, I applied for PEI PNP because I realized it doesnt require a job offer. However, 5marks is up for grabs if you can proove 5years work experience for spouse. I felt that 5 marks could make a difference. My current score without spouse work experience is 70. I feel we could make it 75 with her small retail business grin..we never can tell. What do you think please?

NB I havent included it yet. Im exhausted searching online about PEI PNP occupation in demand and how the province's PNP works. It hasnt got much detail and transparency with selection criteria like Sasks.

Hello please, for those whose spouses are self-employed, what documents do you need to show proof of self-employment (e.g a small CAC registered retail business). I understand that a Certificate of Registration is required, then Bank Statement (we have this but nothing much to write home about. The bank statement isn't more than two times or three times payment per year from Outlets my spouse supplies as a retailer), then perhaps Tax payment evidence. Then Letters of Reference from Business partners we supply. Is there anything else please? I've been searching online too. The business has been rather moribund though for a while now!

Ok I have been a PR here in Saskatchewan province and living in Regina City for over a year now.... As Salford rightly said, this is about the most easiest province to relocate to from Nigeria and Not regret ever having to make such decisions Cos it's easier to start all over again here unlike the bigger cities where u have to husstle and die to "make it". I was in ON, saw the standard of living compared with SK and I take SK ove On any day. Almost missed my flight back to SK from ON dues to gridlock like the one on Lagos Island.

Life is easier here though minimu wage is low but it's 90% a take over naija any day. I got my vehicle all paid up withing 5months of working and a decent apartment in Greens Gardiner for those that knows Regina City and so far it's been a journey worth it..

Yes it's lonely and the reason u need to move here with Ur family. And if u single then u can explore.

Above all no regret so far as I no pass my boundary and being a PR is the best I can wish for now. Citizenship loading in a jeefeey...
Hi, nice post.

Please, between Regina and Saskatoon, which would you advise a new-comer from Nigeria to choose, considering city life, job prospects, and cost of living? How much does an average 2 bed, in a nice neighbourhood, cost in both cities ?

Nice thread. A colleague spoke with me about this route a couple of months ago.

I read through and it sounded quite interesting. However, this is the only condition that I'm finding a bit confusing:

"Membership of an association or group that sets a high achievement threshold to qualify"

What kinds of membership would probably suffice for this? Nigerian Academy of Science? Haaaa!

My h1B was processed by a University ( You have to be employed before they can go through with filing fo you). H1B took like 8-9 months. Visa interview was easy, friendly. For my EB2 NIW, the school got a lawyer for me (paid part of it). NIW case was approved this week. Presently waiting for i-485 filing.

If you have any questions, I am happy to answer here! Good luck with your application
Are you a Prof?

What docs did you submit for NIW?

Have you asked on the SINP ITA groups on other platforms? Because I am thinking that on a second note, they should be able to recalculate your score and if it falls within the invited score, I think it should fly. I said this because I just saw someone being given the same advise.
The score is exactlt the cut off! undecided

Decline, then edit if there is room for that, otherwise, create another EOI using the correct years of experience. Yesterday’s draw was 60! Who ever thought that would happen?
The thing surprise me o! All the way from 87 it kept dropping till it got to 60! I never saw it coming!

What happens if I can't apply within 60 days of being invited to apply?
Once you are invited to apply, your EOI profile will be removed from the EOI pool. If you don't apply within 60 days, your Invitation to Apply will expire. You will need to create a new EOI profile if you remain interested in applying to the SINP.
In essence, I can go ahead and create another one now (since it has been removed from the pool) instead of waiting 60days. My fear is that if I decide to wait til 60days, the NOC might no longer be in demand or cut-off might skyrocket again beyond my reach! Why can't I just do so again now, perhaps with another email?

Can I do so now?

I've made up my mind to decline anyways. The funny thing is that 3 subsequent draws were far lower than my score by more than 6 marks. That's less than 3years working experience. The latest draw even accepted 60marks. I had 66, but mistakenly put 67! Oversabi don ruin my chances! Too much mathematics approximation!

Hi house.

My spouse wrote IELTS again, abut had SLWR: 8,7,7,5.5.

I need her to have at least 6 in all to qualify for Competent speaker, but she's finding it difficult. One component is always less than 6.

How else can I get additional points should I decide not to gain points from her. We don't want to keep wasting money on IELTS. I'm currently on 70 points (minus nomination) waiting for VETASSESS. I fear that in the next 7 months, I will lose 10 points to age... bringing my score to 60. It would have been nice to have that 5 points from her to remain relevant in the pool. ..even after my next birthday. Please advise!

Hello house,

I have a question please!

I got SINP nomination. The cut off point was exactly my score! However, I claimed to have 7years experinece whereas I have about 6years and 8months. The reason I approximated it was because I couldn't find any figure inbetween (e.g 6.5 years or option of inputing years and months on the SINP portal). I also didn't want to throw away the 8months because I felt that 8months was near 1 year and could be appriximated to one year. By the time I will be submitting my application, I should be 6years and 10months. Should I be bothered about rejection or misrepresentation? Kindly help as this is the only snag preventing me from not making up my mind to submit.

The payslip is to confirm you are working and earning money in your nominated field. The said amount is in $AUD and includes all payments (including bonuses and tax). I wasn't earning that much when I was nominated...and I am still not earning it now but the curve is going up (which is what they are interested in). Therefore, you can't be denied because your employment letter is not showing the approximately #75 million naira pay per annum.

Well, we all know that Professors and several professionals are poorly paid in Nigeria, courtesy of per month payment instead of per hour!
Thanks for the clarification.

The other hurdle I see here is getting a nominator.

It might be worth opening a new thread for this and helping 'us' with guidance on packaging this application.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Saynoomore: 5:25am On Sep 01, 2022

You are not expected to be receiving this amount per annum at the time of your nomination/application - you will be assessed for future potential to earn this much. So, your current job and position, qualifications (especially MSc and PhD), innovative talents, international recognition/awards in your field, publications etc can be evaluated to meet the threshold.
If so, why is there a request for payslips as evidence of earning the equivalent of the mentioned amount?

Let them take payslips out of the equation please grin. The payslip of the average Professor in Nigeria reeks of poverty to say the least, especially when converted to USD! Imagine a Professor with many patents, publications, and awards earning 416k/month (just about $1000 @ official exchange rate)!

Has anyone heard about the Global Talent Visa Program in Australia?

This pathway allowed me to obtain my PR within a week with no skill assessment, no English test and no regional localizing!
You can read about it:

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/visas-for-innovation/global-talent-independent-program

If you consider yourself competitive enough, I am happy to answer a few questions.

Timelines: Student Visa (Research) in 2015, PhD (2019), Post-Study Visa (2019), PR (2020), Citizenship (2022), Passport (2022).
I read about this sometime ago. Quite an interesting call, but how can any interested applicant from Nigeria possibly meet this tall requirement: "Candidates should have the ability to attract a salary at or above the Fair Work high income threshold of AUD162,000"? grin

If your degree is in the same field as your WE e.g. Accounting WE with big 4, you should be fine regardless of whether it is a PhD Accounting, MSc Accounting, or BSc. Accounting.

I did not read that you need to have acquired the degree BEFORE the work experience. I also don’t know if SINP wants to see ECA for ALL education or just the highest one.

Research SINP website again and if still in doubt, best to email SINP and ask. Also read through this guy's post he seems to have done SINP with a PhD.

What does your NOC say under employment requirements? That's what SINP needs you to have as the degree that matches your WE.
It says Bachelor's degree. Does it mean I'ld be disqualified for studying further up to PhD in the same field?
