S/West gov’s fixed deposit case already withdrawn from court

| Print | E-mail
Friday, 24 June 2011
FRESH facts have emerged that suit number M/60/2010, which referred to a South West governor (name withheld) being involved in fixed deposit mess and published in the Sunday Tribune of June 19, 2011 has since been struck out by the court.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the case was struck out on March 23, 2010.

Further information made available to the Nigerian Tribune indicated that the case was actually withdrawn by the bank (name withheld) and the governor’s representative did not oppose it.

It was also gathered that prior to the withdrawal of the suit in court, the bank had reversed the wrongful debit it carried out on the governor’s account and recredited his account with full sum that was debited.

The error that the case was still pending in court is regretted.

dayokanu:
Surely we had more returnee slaves among Yorubas than among Igbos and We have more coastal Interaraction with European in the SW than in the SE which would explain the foreign surnames else where would you get Fernandez, Da Silva, George etc from

Most Yorubas dont have an English first name and those who have middle English names supress it and dont flaunt it like SEasterners do

Examples are those Governors I showed you, I dont know if they have a native name because they trumped their Foreign names above it Compare that to the SW governors and you would notice that reverse is the case, I dont know if any of the SW govs have Foreign names maybe they trumped their local over the foreign
akala name is chris does he look like a chris lipsrsealed lol

Yar'Adua George Bush used to pat on the shoulder like boy-boy?

Elite creoles purposely trying to integrate with the 'natives'? Something they would never have thought of doing in Liberia or Sierra Leone?

This is what I read on Hebert Macaulay's wiki page oh!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Macaulay

I don't know if it is incorrect/exaggerated or not.
they didnt marry into the families who were not of nobility.

they married into indigenous royal families

Maximilan Assumpacio married maximiliano in Brazil just before the slave trade was abolished Between them they had 2 girls and 5 boys. One of the boys is sir Adeyemo Alakij. One of the girls later married the then Alake of abeokuta and had the late chief justice of Nigeria, Sir Adetokunbo Ademola. One of the boys could not settle down when the family returned to Nigeria and he went back to Bahia in Brazil to propagate the alakija in diaspora in Brazil. He had a son in Brazil who later became a professor of Psychiatry in the University of Bahia. He is still alive. Now, Sir Adeyemo had a half brother,Olayinka. Both Olayinka and Adeyemo went to St Gregorys college Ikoyi and worked as law clerks before proceeding to London to study law. Both of them qualified BL middle temple in 1912..Olayinka and Adeyemo returned to Nigeria and changed their surname of Assumpacio to Alakija

I was actually told that in order to fit into the Krio elite in Lagos and other urban areas, many native Yoruba changed their surnames to European, Krio sounding names. I don't think someone like Bode George descended from Krio's, although I could be wrong.
totally not true infact it was the other way around many krios aside from the ones who kept their name changed their slave names to yoruba names and married into indigenous royal families to be accepted.

alakija a prominent family in lagos orignally had the name Assumpacio'

ezeagu:
Andre Uweh I'm surprised, I've heard about the grass being greener on the other side, but I wouldn't expect someone like you to say such an incorrect thing about Nigeria. The same Yoruba people with names like Crowther, George and Wellington? 2%? Really?
thats ifferent they are descendants of former slaves- n surnames did not exist back then.

PoliticsRe: Awo Family Without An Awo By Sam Omatseye (The Offensive Article) by sbeezy8: 11:37pm On Jun 10, 2011
people over hype the helll outta tinubu real talk.

There are so many young intelligent educated savvy guys getting involved in politics/business and getting ready to take SW n nigeria by storm so tinubu will probably be a nobody 7-10 yrs from now if Forbes does not list him as a billionaire lmfao hahaha  jk grin

to me ACN Tinubu or any politician or oba is really not that important when you look at yoruba history leaders, politcians, businessmen, Obas are relevant today and nobodies tommorow.

SW keep things fresh and interesting. AG AD PDP were yesterday ACN/LB today could be a totally new party tomorrow.

SW politics are soooo INTERESTING.

i dont like tinubu n i dont hate tinubu- infact hes just "there" for now who knows when i get into politics im takin dat niggaz spot,
PoliticsRe: Senate: ACN Back Akume For Minority Leader Seat by sbeezy8: 7:50pm On Jun 09, 2011
^^^

all acn needs is a block vote in the SW n split votes in the SS NE MB which is easy.

if pdp give presidency to sambo- he will get no votes from se ss sw n split in the middle belt n NE.

if pdp gives ticket to gej- he will gt no votes in the SW NE NW split in the middle belt split in the southeast apga may preset its own presidential candidate who is ibo (many will be agrieved at no 2015 ibo presidential pdp candidate)

ACN/fashola block vote in SW split middle belt, SS split if GEJ is not the candidate. MB split, NE split if sambo or GEJ is the candidate.
PoliticsRe: Bankole Having A Laugh With EFCC Officials by sbeezy8: 7:21pm On Jun 09, 2011
he can pay 10 billion back n be set free- THIEF

bode george took almost 6-7 times more, stayed in prison n did not even pay it back.

he had the jail like a club house wives bring food for him cook etc all types of BS

a year in jail for $350-440 million- EASY laughable
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Reaction After Election On The South West by sbeezy8: 7:11pm On Jun 09, 2011
its not a big deal obj was president it didnt do shoit for us.

i like the responses by the yorubas what the hell is speaker bankole etteh even president gon sef obj?

on to the next one
aribisala0:
1979-83

shehu shagari president NW

alex ekwueme vice president  SE

joseph wayas senate president SS

ume ezeoke speaker house of reps  SE

what else is new
it only shows me nw REFUSE TO BE SECOND TO SE.

SE should have gotten speakership if it was based on pdp support participation and even zoning but NW will never allow themselves to lay second to SE.
PoliticsRe: Oni, Youth Group Blast Tinubu, ACN Over Attack On Awo Family by sbeezy8: 7:01pm On Jun 09, 2011
seriously that newspapers are sooo biased.

disgusting

Obiagu1:
My 0th citizens of Nigeria, please take heart.

It's seems like the house is crumbling.

***  Waiting to see the outcome ***

I haven't witnessed the wild wild west wahala, maybe this is a chance to see it in action.
what are you talkin bout? west has always been politically wild whats new? but we kno how everyone stays watching the west who ever watched the east? lol

yorubas are fine with not receiving govt positions affterall majority of them did  not vote pdp for rep sen or president- so the outcome is expected. obj was number 1 citizens in nigeria n still didnt do anything for yoruba so what is speaker number 4 to us?
Obiagu1:
I just realised that being 4th citizens is way better that being 0th citizens.

A beg, give me another SGF than nothing.  cool

I sit down dey watch the real 9ja unravel itself.
number 4 is speaker not secretary

if its not a yoruba president dont see any reason to actively vote for or support pdp
PoliticsRe: Oni, Youth Group Blast Tinubu, ACN Over Attack On Awo Family by sbeezy8: 6:45pm On Jun 09, 2011
all the thieves akala oni ogd are the ones talking the most trash- i still dont see what tinubu has to do with the article.

but its a shame how they just politicized mama in her old age her children are even more dum.b as they did not advise her whats on ground.

PoliticsRe: Senate: ACN Back Akume For Minority Leader Seat by sbeezy8: 6:36pm On Jun 09, 2011
NICE MOVE!

WHEN IT COMES TO NATIONAL ISSUES ACN needs to broaden its influence how else can fashola or acn get votes for presidency in 2015 or beyond? common sense,

minority leader does nothing for the SW, yoruba issues need to stay in the SW among local state actors. but this one Minority Leader Seat is a national issue- where as it doesnt matter whos holding the seat.

i can already see pdp in its own conflict 2015, SS (GEJ) vs NW vs SE vs NE
n ACN grabbing votes in the SS n NE SW NC. aggrieved regions will DEF have split votes

any person vs fashola, fashola n acn stand a good chance at this- when it come to national issues acn keep playing these politics all this ACN is a yoruba party wont win fasjola or acn presidency.

good politicking Tinubu Fashola Lai ACN are learning from Awo's mistakes right now the only opposition party playing good politics is ACN.

by the time PDP slaps SE in the face by either supporting GEJ for another term or give it to the north- regions will be a fray over who to vote for.
PoliticsRe: PDP May Review Zoning Formula (Re: Tambuwal's Election) by sbeezy8: 2:52am On Jun 08, 2011
SE cant get it-

lol i like it confusion is already happening

of course north want to keep it in the north NE- pdp go see problem next election i cant waittttt
