I think we disagree on how much risk is necessary, I believe local politicians can be better controlled when their power is home based. I honestly do not understand PDP at all. But yes the differences are not too much.

I think OGD could have been a good Gov but when you are in PDP you get comfortable.

Your concern is really unnecessary cos we are not at this time asking the FG to withhold the SW allocations. We are only saying we dont want to rely on the FG promises/offers to develop the SW, hence their is no need to be part of any GNU or rely on alliance with anyone. Give us our national due, do whatever you want with the rest, if they like let them not spend kobo on any SW states, we will be fine.

the least fed govt can do is stay in their lane and not kill or frustrate anything.

I just think you Yoruba's are in danger of selling to the devil. The only state that can cope without the FG is Lagos and the natural allies of the SW are not in the core-North. Those are the two biggest clangers. I'm hearing stuff about rural states thats unreal; its best for the whole of the South and Middle Belt to sit and reach common ground than have unacheivable dreams. The only state that can afford to dream is Lagos.

I hope I've not been too diplomatic to be understood clearly. There realities on the ground we all need to face, I believe GEJ's view is quite longterm, but there is no better time than now to sieze opportunities.

Ekiti IGR is very low. Economy is small, too. Osun has a goodly amount of infrastructure already. . . strong towns like Ilesha, Ife, etc. Strongest town in Ekiti is Ado, which had what, 400k people? And most of the economy there is government parastatal related.

Ekiti has always been sort of neglected infrastructure-wise in Yorubaland. Anyway, I'm not an Ekiti nationalist. . . I'm a Yoruba nationalist. Even if Ekiti has to suffer somewhat for the greater good, not a problem.

But all of this is a hypothetical discussion anyways.

ekiti is also the newest state so i dont expect that much so soon, but i know it'll get there soon

Haven't you heard? The SW will never be free of Northern influence. That is why they are moving there in large numbers. Just like Kwara, soon other SW states will be claimed by the North. Enjoy.

Osun is probably fine. Ekiti is the weakest of the 6 and would suffer the most w/o federal allocations. But at the very least, the first four are fine, economically.

Ado Ekiti has a smaller population in realtion to the other government so if anything Lower wages but suffering? no.

both osun and ekiti states are calling for federalism so they can be independent - i would only assume the govs know what they can make out of each state.

Even though Yorubas share common ancestors with the Idoma, Edo, Igala and last but not least the Ndigbo.

That is not true. Lagos makes about a decent percentage of the money it needs (it still needs FG money), the rest will collapse without FG money for a month or two. How will they pay teachers, doctors and civil service workers?
