Do the Hausa not make up the majority of the north? And the Kanuri will go along with them as "One North."

I see that the North is going to do a power-play. If they pick and Igbo VP and then agree to give up the spot by 2015, then the Igbo will go along with the north on this issue.
Why would igbo "go along" with northerners and not Jonathan who is from the old east has igbo name- has igbo roots and is more igbo than anyone?

does that make sense to you?
PoliticsRe: Southwest Pdp Adopts Jonathan For 2011 by sbeezy8: 4:38pm On Aug 29, 2010
I mean- who else will they adopt in PDP?
Ibb? no
Atiku? no

lol- I mean in any election whether rigging or not- you have to have a candidate that is sellable and realistic - who people will actually vote for. IBB winning in the SW or SS christian middle belt is not realistic neither is Atiku.

Jonathan winning is actually realistic. He may not be the best in naija but hes better than everyone in PDP who showed interest in the 2011 election.

It might change in the future but for right NOW - I see him winning 2011.

and Nigeria during the civil war there were child soldiers well atleast "teen soldiers"- has to do with ignorance and poor vision that leaders have-

It may surprise you to know that some Nigerian still think he rigged the elections. undecided

He did so by sponsoring the cancellation of the first SDP primaries which was won by Shehu Musa Yar adua (the dead presidents senior brother). He bribed IBB to cancel it, which IBB did.
So don't give the man more credit than he deserves. Nigerians are not fools. We saw it all play out.
shiot you made up in your head- when you werent even there. Bribe or no bribe- rig or no rig- No zoning in the SW-
Northerners can install an igbo as president- If you think thats what they'll do it, then fine. Theres no reason in even arguing.

If igbos can get votes up in the muslim north than they should do it. You said "ngbatis" are back stabbers- than dont count on the "ngbatis" back stabbers votes in thw SW and in the Middle belt.

If the core north wants an igbo president - they'll do it. We know ngbatis are back stabbers- so theres no point in even being mad when the yorubas vote for a yoruba candidate in 2015 or any election.

Depend on the north- lol wink

im out this thread is boring now-

whether yoruba will vote for yoruba or igbo will vote for igbo- I dont really care.

A northerner can be president time and time again with an igbo vp- doesnt matter to me.

Onlytruth:
And he actually didn't rule! hehehe ! grin grin

That statement was exactly why he never ruled, and actually died for it.
That is called reality check dude.
lol he didnt rule because of the military not because northerners didnt vote for him- theres a difference.

Im satisfied in knowing that Mko actually won elections.
which is fine wit me.
No need for Zoning in my books. . . peace out

These people are amazingly dumb. I didn't know that extreme tribalism can also make someone extremely dumb. sad

Nigeria's history is replete with facts about how presidents emerged. Igbo (and any other tribes ) can become president without the Yoruba. Anyone who plans to become president through Yoruba votes will FAIL.
FACT.
THAN DO SO! and stop talking about Zoning

lol He had the audacity to say that.

Name one Yoruba man who won without the support of the Igbo. Never heard of such.
mko abiola- he actually said he doesnt need igbo votes- and he really didnt.

I'm happy that true Yoruba characters are showing up here for the party.  grin
They enjoyed zoning -that is the only way they could ever produce the president- now they are dissing it. Awolowo tried all through his life to win national elections, HE FAILED and died a miserable man.
Abiola stole the elections using the money he stole from the ITT contract. He actually used the money to sponsor countless coups in Nigeria. When he "won", one Igbo man called Arthur Nzeribe told him that he cannot rule. He never ruled and died a miserable man.

Zoning was the brainchild of Igbo politicians like Alex Ekwueme. They came together to zone the presidency to the Yoruba in 1999. Now some Yorubas are here boasting that the Igbo will never rule Nigeria (as if their opinions count undecided).
Betrayal is the nature of these folks. Obasanjo is already betraying Jonathan.
As for Ndigbo, we should continue organizing. No great nation ever came about without hardwork.
lol if Obj betrays Jonathan what do you want us to do? Who cares lol neither of them is my father. lmfao

and please in 1999- who did igbo vote for or who did they zone it to? Obj- PDP(the party that has zoning) or  Olu falae( AD)

THE OTHER THREAD YOU CLAIMED IGBOS VOTED FOR OLU FALAE(whos party AD didnt have any Zoning) - which story is it now?

You just hit the nail on the head. They will be the biggest beneficiary of Zoning, otherwise they should just forget it. No Okoro will ever lead Nigeria.
Im not against igbo leading Nigeria- if he wins an elections against yoruba hausa and a northerner, then he should.

But if the igbo believe they have the numbers to do so than, it should be easy to win.

seanet02:
THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTH, YOU CANT TRUST AN OKORO MAN WITH YOUR PENNY
naw you shouldnt think of it like that- I cant trust anyone in Nigeria be it Hausa or yoruba or igbo

but what im saying is if theres a "good yoruba candidate" I am familiar with - I will vote for him over any hausa or igbo, as they would do the same.

all this igbo shouldnt be trusted is junk- trust isnt based on tribe

Zoning is more peaceful then having gridlock is it not? Having rotations keeps a nation stable. When rotations are not respected, people will grumble and this leads to conflict.
in a free and fair election there can never be grid lock- There is always One winner.
I mean igbo yoruba and hausa-fulani arent the only people in Nigeria.

edited- this is better
you always have that 40 million 60 million igbo right- so tell them to vote and you win thats simple.

I DONT KNOW WHY ANY OF THE SO CALLED THREE LARGEST TRIBES WOULD ASK FOR ZONING.

Like why if igbos are as large in number as they say they are- then win without Zoning.

40 million restless ibos! You make me laugh. Firstly, ibos are no nowhere near 40 million, even if they were, the rest of Nigeria is much more bigger than them. You won't be able to bully your way through anything.
Im surprised you even paid that clown attention

If Igbos are 40 million scattered around Nigeria- why should they insists on Zoning? It should be easy for Igbos to Win in Nigeria.

I as a yoruba know that yorubas are LARGE and diverse in Nigeria and large enough to win an election in Nigeria (WITHOUT ZONING) like Mko Abiola DID.
PoliticsRe: North Offered Ndigbo Vp, But We Rejected It, Says Ezeife by sbeezy8: 5:49pm On Aug 28, 2010
We can even have 5-6 countries im fine with it. I like everyone yoruba person in my family never planned on investing around Nigeria anyway.

I like my Owambe parts, and yoruba music- so what happens around Nigeria is of no concern to me.
Aside from the few SW elite that poke there noses all round Nigeria- Majority of yoruba peeps dont care.
PoliticsRe: North Offered Ndigbo Vp, But We Rejected It, Says Ezeife by sbeezy8: 5:33pm On Aug 28, 2010
Lol theres no reason for us to secede NIGERIA is ok we are not suffering- 80% of us like Nigeria the way it is except for our own corrupt govs in the west- has nothing to do with being president or ethnicity/Religion.

I mean if a hausa-fulani, Niger deltans or igbo dont vote for a yoruba man what will I do? nothing cause everyone is free to vote for who ever they want.

if there is no country, than there is no coutntry- afterall beside Abj and warri I dont have fam that i know that live outside the SW. SO ITS COOL WITH ME never planned on doing business outside SW anyway
PoliticsRe: North Offered Ndigbo Vp, But We Rejected It, Says Ezeife by sbeezy8: 5:23pm On Aug 28, 2010
Im laughing at you clowns- cause you always talk about war like small BOYS - LOL

I wont even get into this back and forth BS- if people dont vote for igbo president nothing will happen- except igbos getting mad.

2015 yorubas will probably vote for a yoruba
2015 Northernerners will probably vote a northerners
2015 igbos will probably vote for igbo
2015- if jonathan wins in 2011 and recontest in 2015- deltans will probably vote for jonathan
Muslims will vote for muslims and christian will probably vote for christians etc . . .

Thats how Nigeria is- to bad deal with it.

1st - Riots in the streets throughout East.

2nd - Igbos will make a power play led by young Igbo officers.

3rd - Destructions spreads.

4th - Breakout of another Civil War
lol if igbos in the east riot- who will really care? no one but igbos are there anyway. lol

and if its a civil war then its a civil war- You should know that in 1967 when the war was in the East, children in the West were still going to school like nothing happen and business was still being taken care of in the West.

You know even my parents dont know much about the war- lol

So it doesnt matter to me.
PoliticsRe: North Offered Ndigbo Vp, But We Rejected It, Says Ezeife by sbeezy8: 5:00pm On Aug 28, 2010
we shall wait and we shall see-

zoning is within PDP but not in the Nigerian consistution suppose an igbo gets the PDP ticket in 2015 and loses to opposition- what will happen then?

or what if Jonathan himself loses on PDP ticket- PDP ticket is fake and only applies to "those whos its suppose to "apply" for.

In order for an igbo to win election in Nigeria he will need yorubas votes in the SW and Middle belt- grin
FashionRe: Michelle Obama Wears Nigerian Dress by sbeezy8: 4:56pm On Aug 28, 2010

PoliticsRe: Yorubas Back Uncle Joe by sbeezy8: 4:45pm On Aug 28, 2010

So, suffice it to say that the Yoruba had no business gunning for VP positions. That is part of why characters like Arthur Nzeribe schemed their best to deny the Yoruba that first position. He (and many Igbos) felt that was part of the civil war continuing in disguise. Arthur once boasted that he wanted to disintegrate Nigeria into "manageable bits and pieces". He almost achieved it in 1993.
I think its funny when people like you always say "they scheme to their best to deny yorubas the first position"- when Obj had it twice and mko abiola won it, obviously you guys are failing at what ever dumb plan you had.

I mean you should scheme out the best way to win votes across Nigeria to have a president- who is eastern- thats makes more sense.

lol Im not mad and Im actually happy with The way Nigeria is !!!!- the only problems with the west of Nigeria is corrupt leaders. has nothing to do with presidency or ethnicity or religion When Awo was by "himself" and the Northerners were at the top and igbo "second" - The yorubas were better Off.

So it should go back to that way like in 1960- when Zik chose to be second and a Northerner First.
PoliticsRe: Yorubas Back Uncle Joe by sbeezy8: 4:28pm On Aug 28, 2010
Onlytruth:
That can be explained easily. undecided The Yoruba (like the Igbo) have always wanted to produce the president from 1959, but they failed (the Igbo succeeded before them), until the civil war. This is part of why the Yoruba sided (powerfully) with the Hausa to defeat Biafra -they saw an opportunity to overtake the east at the federal level.

Awo was the effective "prime minister" during the war. When the war ended, the Yoruba was empowered by Awo to take over the economy (through the 20 pounds policy against Ndigbo). After the war, there was an unspoken accord between the Yoruba and Hausa to share power at the top. Alex Ekwueme's vice presidency in 1979 was not really part of the plan; it just happened.

I don't know why it is hard for folks to understand that Nigeria cannot move forward sitting on top of the Igboman's rights. The least that can happen is a country of pains and retrogression. The worst can be an outright disintegration of Nigeria.

So we have started to ask for our full rights as citizens of Nigeria, to produce the president in 2015. It has been 40 years since the war ended, and it will be 45 years by 2015. We will take next logical steps if that effort fails.

The Igbo must act together. We can't act when some Igbos still feel that they are Nigerians.
Why do you like telling lies?- Awo was never prime minister or anything close or do you not know Yakubu Gowon was Head of state for 8 GOOD YEARS.
and I told you Zik was second in command to Balewa who was voted Prime minister and Appointed Zik as second in command- yet you still persists with lies.

One minute igbos say that ndigbo never tasted presidency - the next minute they cite Zik as the first president - who was actually "second" in command to Balewa the prime minister.

The civil war didnt change the position of igbos according to the west or the north- 1960 Zik was second to a northerner before the war, 1979- Ekewueme was second to a Northerner after the war, 1993 slyvester ugoh wanted to be second to a northerner after the war.  and no one around Nigeria recalls any power Nzeribe had in 1993- he supported IBB cause he probably thought he can be president next - He WAS WRONG!

and stop saying anyone is holding igbos down- because igbos are free to contest in ANY election- didnt Ojukwu contest? YES

If PEOPLE from the SW/ "west middle belt" would rather vote for a yoruba- Fine
If PEOPLE in the north would rather vote for a muslim or northerner- Fine
If PEOPLE in the East want to vote for an igbo or christian- Fine.

If votes are split with a northerner winning with an igbo VP fine - It was like that Before the civil war and is still like that NOW- I want a northerner with an igbo vp. Cause I dont know how an igbo can beat a northerner in the Muslim North and with that attitude yall not getting any votes from yoruba who are muslim and christian who are indigenous to the north and south.
