That's what awolowo fought for and thanx to him it worked.
Naw Awo is a yoruba triablist remember? Zik na d real hero he believed in ONE Nigeria from the start, even aligned himself with the north- thanks to him we are One.
PoliticsRe: Together, We Can Build Our Nation- Ibb by sbeezy8: 12:37am On Sep 16, 2010
Theres nothing wrong in what IBB said- But why didnt build the nation as ONE when he ruled over Nigeria for 8 yrs?

I mean really. I would respect him more if he didnt want to become PRESIDENT AGAIN, if he means what he says he should make sure the Niger delta gets a better deal in allocation, he should make sure igbos dont feel marginalized, and he should make sure that yoruba politicians arent killing eachother, in the middle belt he should be more active in Peace between religions, he should also Make sure illiteracy in the North is checked. He doesnt need to president to do that.

after all hes IBB so why didnt he do that all that for the last 17 yrs he wasnt president?
PoliticsRe: Another Revelation On The Jan.1966 Coup by sbeezy8: 12:30am On Sep 16, 2010
I have to give it to the igboman- Zik if not for him we wouldnt have One Nigeria.

Awo was ready to have a southern Nigeria or atleast a West Nigeria as a country BUT THANK GOD ZIK WENT TO THE NORTH.

Now we have One Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Shock, Disbelief Heralds Ibb’s Presidential Declaration by sbeezy8: 12:16am On Sep 16, 2010
I have nothing against IBB he can become president if he wants my point is he ruled naija for 8 yrs, anulled an election, Oil wind fall, non persona grata by the US.

I can understand Buhari - BUT IBB. LOL

if he becomes president SO WHAT - nothing most people can do besides be suprised but it only show Nigerians ARE VERY STUPIIID PEOPLE.

No. The question is how does this help the progress of the yoruba people? whether awolowo was a scum or king is not the issue.
Obiagu1:
You all have not answered the question:

So how does this help the progress of the yoruba people?
it doesnt help yorubas progress in anyway because yorubas are doing fine(we just have bad govs!)- but as a yoruba I find satisfaction in knowing innocent Awo had nothing to do with the "igbo coupe".

pls igbo should just take repsonsiblity for the wack coupe- no biggie.
PoliticsRe: Shock, Disbelief Heralds Ibb’s Presidential Declaration by sbeezy8: 11:59pm On Sep 15, 2010
IBB will alwats pull a crowd duh- but what matter is MOST OF THESE PEOPLE WILL NOT VOTE ANYWAY. LOL
PoliticsRe: Another Revelation On The Jan.1966 Coup by sbeezy8: 11:57pm On Sep 15, 2010
Yorubas dont care who started it - the only thing that concerns yoruba people is the LIES that many have made up about Kaduna being Hausa, Awo sponsoring the coupe from jaiil . . . .

Igbos should just let a sleeping dog lie=

I remember this has been discussed for so long before. Exactly the same topic.

My quote of the day: So how does this help the progress of the yoruba people?

It will be interesting to get an answer.
BECAUSE THE BASIS OF IGBOS ARGUMENT AND PEOPLE LIKE MBU WAS THAT THE COUP WAS CARRIED OUT TO INSTALL AWO ! WHICH IS A LIE.

so this helps keep the name of awo out of the jan coup carried out by igbos.

as a yoruba Ive never heard any stories about "dont marry from ijebu or ekiti or ondo" LOL seriously.

infact Ijebu the best place to marry from- EVERYONE KNOWS THAT.

Aloy+Emeka:
Another Ekiti guy I know could not marry his fiancee because his family refused to support the union and threatened to boycott the marriage simply because the lady is Ijebu. Even though both of them resides in UK and the lady was born in UK, they couldn't continue with the marriage because of pressures from the guy's family back home.

Many Igbos do not want their children to marry from Mbise or Ngwaland and it is a fact. They will rather have their children marry Yoruba or oyibo than Mbise or Ngwa and you know Yorubas feel the same about the Ijebu tribe.

So, one can defy family politics and continue with the marriage like some people have done but one also need to think it over because of who will have your back when trouble comes from such unions.
I dont know any Goat family that thinks like that- maybe the low class ones- hmmm says alot about the folks you hang around.

Another foolish talk, does my statement mean that there are no Fulanis married to other tribes?. Does that mean that we should deny the existence of strife in Inter tribal marriages?. Emeka Anyoku, Ike Nwachukuw, Ekene Dili Chukwu, Godwin okpara(ex Super Eagle) etc are also Igbos who married Yoruba women; Marwa and Atiku also have Yoruba and Igbo wives; IBB had an Igbo wife, Murtala Mohammed had a Yoruba wife, etc. Does that mean that Igbos and Fulanis have always married outside their tribes.

Stick to your Harvard law and Wharton MBA abeg.
actually fulanis have always married outside their tribe- EVERYONE KNOWS THAT-
CultureRe: Yoruba Boys And Igbo Gals by sbeezy8: 7:44pm On Sep 14, 2010
Aloy+Emeka:
Stop fooling yourself, if you believe marriage is solely on love, then you can believe anything. Race and tribe plays an intrinsic role in marriage and no matter how open minded you are, you can never bypass those factors. Even in civilized world, race is still a stumbling block in marital unions. If you think a Fulani family will wholly accept your Ekiti behind when you marry their son, then think again. Same is applicable to other tribes.
Thats not true Fulanis have ALWAYS married outside tribe. You would be dumb to think the fulanis running around in Nigeria are pure fulanis- cause theyre NOT. Infact theres no such thing as a pure fulani, they intentionally married and father children by different ethnic groups to swell their numbers-

Fulanis marrying dont have a problem with tribe or religion of a woman- everyone knows that.

Isa yaguda- has a yoruba wife, so does Atiku  . . .

How many hausas have been president or prime minister of Nigeria? How many years has a fulani ruled this country in comparison to middle belter or yoruba?

yea  . . like I said, dem no get brain pass religion.

Hope you know Kanuri's and hausa-fulani people love each other, they have so much respect for each other. It was the Kanuri that brought Islam to Hausa's. The acceptance is so deep and wide between those groups. Thats what you miss, what groups in the north "love" each other, you cant tell a kanuri man that h should support a yoruba over a hausa. You're a fool.
HAHAHAHA did Mko Abiola not beat Tofa in the north east and even some of the NW? LOL
THE ONLY THING CORE NORTH HAS IS ISLAM- without it north aint shiot.

when you put two muslim candidates up for election see how the north divides themselves.

Even now the core north hasnt presented a real candidate- Atiku is lookin unlikely, IBB is not hausa or fulani or kanuri and Saraki is what fulani/yoruba and leaning on the yoruba. All the northerners are screaming for IBB or Saraki even more than Atiku who is a hausa-fulani. una no get brain.
PoliticsRe: Prof Abc Nwosu To Ndigbo On 2011 Polls: Abandon Zoning, Commit Political Suicide by sbeezy8: 10:37pm On Sep 13, 2010
truth is zoning was between the north and obj with some yoruba elite and also the backing of US and UK- the others wanted to write themselves in what ever the north and obj had.

im laughin at folks from the SE who are saying zoning must persists- isnt now between IBB or Saraki ?-in which some northern elements want to use Saraki to unify the "north" lol- which worked for Gowon and IBB- who are both middle belters.

IBB isnt a sellable candidate in the north among the youth, Nigeria, or Around the world. IBB might chicken out and support Saraki. How will the igbos feel if Saraki becomes that northern element and "promises" to hand over presidency to igbo in 2015?

I think its funny
PoliticsRe: “the South-west Debacle” by sbeezy8: 9:50pm On Sep 13, 2010
yorubas have no beef with igbos or anyone-

its just that what yorubas need is something that only yoruba people can give- Yoruba have no problems in Nigeria, the few they have are caused BY YORUBA POLICITIANS

so theres nothing hausa-fulani, ijaw, igbo or any "ethnic group" need to talk to yoruba people "about".

infact i dont even like the talk between "ethnic groups" that pretty retrogressive.
PoliticsRe: “the South-west Debacle” by sbeezy8: 9:33pm On Sep 13, 2010
hey guys im back and guess what I dont believe yorubas need to do anything different.

If any person believes Awo was a triablist na your own fuckin problem- I can careless really because yorubas in general dont care two shitz about what happen in the civil war or who caused it- they respect Awo for his time as head of the West. POINT BLANK.
If any thinks fajuyi is a hero na your own bloody problem- doesnt matter and hes TOTALLY IRRELEVANT TO MODERN NIGERIA.

and igbos should keep using the same old " wait for the north to handover to igbo" as they did pre civil war.
Become "2nd" or vice president to a fulani- hausa doesnt really matter.

nonsense i dont know what type of people you hang around, family you have or  what eva but obviously for you to have dated "dirty yoruba gals" it only means you are a dirty fellow.

cause some of the chicks i know who are yoruba are classy "ajebutta" types far from dirty, loud, lousy or empty. Maybe if you had money you would know your "levels".
I dont think yoruba girls are losing out on anything cause all the yoruba girls i kno can careless who yoruba guys date be it igbo, white, urhobo etc. . .
nd I cant really say  all igbo girls are cute cause ive def seen some not so pretty ones, as well as pretty. when yoruba guys say that- i automatically assume they must have ugly mother and sisters

Nigerians TALK SHIOT ABOUT Kenyans and Americans ALL THE TIME -yet when Barack Obama become president Nigerians were saying hes making africa and black proud.

thats just how it is, Like white americans being racist towards blacks but when blacks compete in the Olympics and win gold medals- They suddenly become Americans and its less emphasis on them being black.

Mkpotu:
The sooner we start appreciating ourselves in this country the better. Many Yoruba folks are crying up and down because the person is an Igbo guy and it has to do with celebration and something everybody has to be proud of.

The other day, the post was on President Goodluck to commission the INNOSON's motor manufacturing/assembling company, instead of celebrating the achievement and the initiative of the Sir Chukwuma, the CEO of INNOSON, some folks here were making nasty comments that it is Aba made and of course we know the people such things are coming from.

If it were to be that an Igbo person was caught in kidnapping. robbery or advance fee fraud, You will immediately see Yorubas posting the thread for discussion and immediately they will not fail to address the person's root and why Igbos are known for that. When Dora and Soludo were fighting with the press, the same folks were rather making useless comments that such things can only happen in Igboland instead of discussing the main issue, they were busy attacking Igbo as a tribe. These are just few intances.

The advice is simple, leave us to celebrate our achievements when we make them, you can join us to celebrate if you like but not castigating us or looking for a way to twist it into mockery.

To me Igbos are really trying and if you guys think Nigeria is one, Igbos should be encouraged all the more. A tribe that lost majority of her population during the civil war, 40years ago is back with some of these achievements such that there is no sector/career in this country and the world at large that you will not see IGBOs making waves. It is a thing to be happy and appreciated.

Asi na mu abughi onye Igbo, kedu ihe m ga-akoro chim?

NAIJIRIA KWENU !

NDI IGBO KWEZUONU!!!!!

JISIENU IKE!!!!
o

aiight niggu you straight od-in OVER DOIN IT LIKE SHIOT- cause thats how everyone is in Nigeria no need to single out any yoruba this n that cause posters on this thread arent all yoruba or igbo. most Nigerian do dat shiot .

the same way nigerians(including igbos) will say yorubas are doing fraud /419 and then next when Seal, Fela, Sade Adu, Kase lawal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Rappers Wale or Chamillionaire or who ever is on TV he becomes a "Nigerian".

or the same way Nigerians ( mainly  igbos and yoruba) complain of hausas/abokis killing in the north and then next when Dangote is a billionaire in forbes he then becomes a Nigerian making "Nigerians proud".

It's time to stop Igbo men from infesting the Yoruba woman's "organic men farm". they are dangerously encroaching into hostile territory and must be stopped unless Igbo women are ready to convince their men into cultivating Yoruba women. I hate injustice and this trend will cause gender imbalance in the near future.

That being said, IGBO WOMEN pleeeze harvest your own men and stop confusing Yoruba men. They are owned by various Yoruba women. If you must steal one, take Sjeezy or Aigbofa abeg for their genes are no more needed in Oduduwaland.

PoliticsRe: The Man Who Might Be King - Bukola Saraki by sbeezy8: 7:45pm On Aug 31, 2010
There are losts of fulani elite who would be pro saraki 2011- I dont doubt it, with fulanis language/culture isnt a big deal its more about islam and professing ones "fulaniness" the hausas will not like it cause he isnt hausa.

Like wise the fulanis dont like Sambo as VP because he isnt hausa-fulani - He is a pure hausaman

Saraki is mixed with fulani but that doesnt change the fact the other regions see him as yoruba. Just as people see Jonathan as Ijaw tho hes probably  mixed with igbo.

Even if all fulanis support Saraki, he cant win northern ticket in 2011- hausas will not like it, and all other regions will vote against him because hes seen more as a yoruba.

he should go and sit down
PoliticsRe: The Man Who Might Be King - Bukola Saraki by sbeezy8: 7:32pm On Aug 31, 2010
saraki isnt 100% yoruba infact most yoruba people are mixed but the question of whether you are yoruba or not doesnt come into question in yorubaland. Just like IBB whos middle name "badamosi" is also a name LOTS of yorubafolks have. If he wasnt in the political elite  he would probably be living in yorubaland and as a yoruba- if everyone knew him by "Ibrahim Badamosi"

and there are lots of non yoruba people who easily assimilate in yorubaland. MOST Fulanis in Nigeria themselves dont speak fula its either hausa, yoruba, kanuri, nupe.

West Nigeria is yoruba predominantly but there are LOTS of nupes, fulas, ewe, hausas, binis and even urhobos who have been living in the SW as "yorubas"
