I knew he must be a black man. Sentencing a 15 year old to life imprisonment is malicious. No jury would have done that to a white boy. They shouldn't even have bothered releasing him because he's been insitutionalized. An octagenarian that has lived a regimented and caged life for 70 years stand little chance of fitting in.

Nigeria's current situation can be summed up in few words "INNOVATE OR YOU DIE".
Nigerian leaders have failed to see the signs all the while. A country where some citizens are superior to others can hardly survive. What is keeping Nigeria today is the South-South. If South South decide to join either Biafra and/or Oduduwa, Nigeria is gone. Middle Belt is just waiting on the fringe.

Those in authority have been paying deaf ears to the call for restructuring, insisting the call was selfish and by unpatr[otic Nigerians. They fail to heed the simple warning and to learn from what befell countries like Yugoslavia, USSR, Ethiopia, etc who hid their heads in the sands thinking it will just pass. They fail to take advantage of the 2014 CONFAB report insisting on one Nigerianess that is fast eroding. Rather calling those complaining WAILERS and ELECTION LOSERS.
Today, all those calling for restructuring have shifted base. They now seek self-determination.
It is a shame. Will they learn, not sure. Now the president want to whip up religious sentiments around these calls. This may as well be the final blow that will break Nigeria. A predominantly Christian South would now see a One Nigeria continuity as a purely Muslim Agenda. What a bigger shame!
What do you mean by South South? Africans are tribal by nature, so it is impossible for a multi-ethnic section to have one voice. Your so-called SS has Igbo so they're naturally part of Biafra. Others would have to decide for themselves. I suggest that you understand the concept of our nature before posting...

I never took IPOB serious until the military invaded Kanu's house and killed people. Then I learnt they killed many others. That was when I realized that Nigeria doesn't deserve Igbo in it. Igbo and the oppressed Easter minorities deserve better. God bless Kanu. He is the type of leader that all African tribes need. I pray that not just within Nigeria, but that all African ethnic groups would be blessed with his type. so that the black man may be freed from colonial bondage and Arabian slavery.

MrMaestro:
We agree that the British would still want access to the oil. But that's no longer our portion anymore. Regardless, they realize they can't support the Fulanis anymore, as the Yorubas have shifted the balance of power, so they're shifting their plans. The writing is on the wall, Oduduwa is almost upon us. Everyone from the female Yoruba diaspora in Brazil and other south american countries (who came to the oonis palace), to ex- US military Yorubas meeting in US, there are Yoruba groups around the world working on this. When you hear the Ooni of Ife and Iba Gani Adams talking Oduduwa, it is a done deal. Because it is coming from the leaders of the culture. And culture rules EVERYTHING when it comes to the Yorubas. Some political people will still have problems, but they will be overtaken and will have no choice.

We should be grateful for igbo because Fulani are hindered by Igbo resistance? how exactly? The same thing happening in the west is happening in the east, only difference is there have been more IPOB killed by the military than Oduduwa supporters. In terms of results, theres no quantifiable difference. Accept the ones you might have imagined and created in your mind or with IPOB propaganda.

The Fulanis knows we're a group of cowards? Yet kill you all with zero remorse? Are you ok? Do you realize why they never brought the military over to the SW against Igboho and others? Yorubas will finish Fulanis with such speed and ferocity that Nigeria will literally end overnight. Thats why they must be cautious with the west, pose as friends, and hope people don't notice their true ambitions for control. Whereas with the east, they bring in the military to stomp you out because there's no consequence for doing so.

Please understand that there's a difference between how Fulanis approach Igbos and Yorubas. And there's a reason for that.
You seem to miss the fact that the Fulani do not really take Yoruba seriously in terms of impact. Let me show you. They do not believe that Yoruba has what it takes to resist Fulani conquest. Let's assume that this is based on antecedence. They know that if they could make inroad in one part of Yorubaland such as Ilorin, they could replicate that all over Yorubaland,
Secondly, the Fulani controlled government are aware that you guys are not the obstacles to their domination, but Igbo. That, combined with your docility is the reason they never send in troops.
Three reason:
1) In the South, they need allies to hold the country on stranglehold. That ally is Yoruba as seen in 2015.
2) They are aware that you guys are not warriors but can easily bow to domination. That is why what the military can accomplish in the East, herdsmen can in Yorubaland. Didn't you notice that the few time that Yoruba villagers resisted the herdsmen and the need arose to send in soldiers to escort the herder, all the soldiers needed was were whips and koboko to cause the people to fall in line? No soldier would dare that in Igboland. The dominated Igbo is the dead one.
3) Cross-check, which ethnic group is actively resisting or has actively resisted Fulani conquest? Apart from the Biroms and Jukun, which as smaller ethnic groups, Only the Igbo through ESN has done that successfully. Considering that Yoruba is a large ethnic group, everyone expected that you's have response since you already lost territory to them, in fact, the only southern tribe that has lost territory to Fulani is still the most unresponsive. That's why it's easy to sense your fear. You only are covering up with the pretension that you're a part of the government. Even though you guys know fully well that you have no say in this government, In fact, you're outsiders.

MrMaestro:
There's nothing you can do to rewrite history. It's already written in stone. Awolowo was the strategist that ended the war swiftly without lifting a finger. The British and the Yorubas had mutual interests then. Now the Yorubas have stated they are wanting Oduduwa, and see how the British opinion on "Biafra oil" has changed again by granting you all asylum and going along with Yoruba sentiment against Nigeria. Or has the oil you are saying they are eyeing disappeared from the region? If it were up to the British like you say, they would still be supporting the Fulanis. But what is the one thing that change between 1967 and now? The tune of the Yorubas, and the British have changed their side.

They went against the Igbos in 1967, they're going against the Fulanis now. There's only one side they haven't gone against, it's the Yorubas. That is POWER and INFLUENCE. Or do you think when people say Some London neighborhoods are mini Lagos they're not talking about Yorubas? You really should be thanking Yorubas. Because had they not made the decision for Oodua, IPOB would have been fighting decades more for Biafra.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-EyOTIahDw
You're mistaken if you think British policy has changed because they announced asylum for IPOB. It hasn't. As far as they're concerned. Nigeria should be one country under Fulani. If you're thinking that the Fulani are giving up on your land, thats a second error. Take it from me that you guys are the only Southerners that don't know how much trouble you're in. That's why you're still playing politics.
1. Fulani are hindered by Igbo resistance, that's why you guys haven't all gone over to Benin
2. When the next Fulani takes over in 2023, that's when your eyes will start opening to the realities.
3. In fact, unless your Oduduwa happens before 2023, I see most of you relocate to IDPs. This is what I'm sure of since you guys lack the ability to defend yourselves due to cowardice.
4. The bad news is that Fulani knows you're a tribe of cowards.
5. The good news is that your diaspora understand the urgency of your exit.
6. Another good news is that you have no oil and nothing the British want.

So if you guys are smart, you should work with your diasporic, since they seem to not be distracted by your long throat for free oil money.

MrMaestro:
All of that typing, and the fact remains, it was Awolowo's strategy that won the war. Not Fulanis, not the UK. It is also Yorubas that are clamoring for Oduduwa that is now putting an end to this nation after you all have been trying since 1967 and have been failing for DECADES since then. Mainly because Yorubas stopped you before and kept doing so. We now realize Oduduwa is better for us than Nigeria, as Nigeria has nothing more to offer. Yorubas have all the POWER in Nigeria. It is why SW is the epicenter of Nigeria, and where everyone runs to. Power doesn't go elsewhere. People come to power.

You may not like it, but it's the BITTER TRUTH.
No, I'm telling you it's the British, not your Awolowo. Yoruba will not be missed by anyone if they were the ones agitating for exit. There's no oil in their land that's why. Everyone lives and die for oil in Nigeria and that oil is in Biafra. The British fought Igbo and Biafrans for the oil. What would anyone fight you for? You won'[t fight in any case because you do not have what it takes. Not the oil, not the bravery. The only reason Fulani are in your forest is to drive you guys and take over as they've already done in some areas. They're waiting for the right time for the final push. Thank God, ESN is a clog in their plans. But do not think that if they cannot make headway in the East, that they'll give up on you guys. They need a homeland and your land will do just fine considering that you guys lack real warriors to resist them.

Lol Gowon ke, northerners couldn't do anything without Awolowo. That's why he stepped in, they were too illiterate to win a war at that time. Let's be clear, Yorubas won that war. Not the northerners. And they are losing the war now because Yorubas have turned on the Northerners because they don't know their place when it comes to Yorubaland. The balance of power has always shifted with Yorubas. Staying one country, dividing, winning a war. Wherever we pivot so too will Nigeria.

And Ojokwu betrayed Awolowo by declaring war when he said he wouldn't and would work towards federalism. Awolowo the hand of God. It goes to show the mind is ALWAYS the mightiest. One mans plans left millions in disarray. Ojokwu should have kept his troops in the SE instead of marching for Lagos. That was a deathwish, and death is what his troops received.
So a tribe of cowards can win a war?
Even your Awolowo and Gowon had British advisers teleguiding them. They had nothing to win that war without the British. It's just like the same British teleguiding the Fulani today to take over ancestral lands in exchange for oil and gas reserves. If you really think that the Yoruba can win war, what has been your response to thousands of Fulani occupying your forest and sending your people on exile while killing and raping your women and kidnapping and enriching themselves with ransom. We know tribes that can win wars in Nigeria and Yoruba is not even among the first 200 of 350 ethnic groups. Warrio0r tribes in Nigeria are known, even though these days many have been corrupted with money and drunkenness. Mention the Tivs, the Jukuns, the Igbo, the Kuteps, the Ijaws, Esan, Birom, Itshekiris, Binis, Andoni, Kanuris, even Ogoni and Annangs. Mostly smaller ethnic groups but warrior clans. No one mentions Yoruba when the issue is war or self defense. That's why today, without ESN, the south would have been overrun if anyone waited for Yoruba to have a response. In fact, I think the reprieve you guys enjoy is because Igbo are the real defenders of the south. Before you mention civil war again, that war was 300 ethnic groups against Igbo, That war was Britain, USSR, Czechoslovakia, Egypt and others against a new nation. British military advisers practically used whips to flog Nigerian soldiers that ran from Biafra back to the front lines. The records are there. On a level playing field, even Nigeria would not defeat Igbo. Take it to the bank. So before insulting Igbo, we all know the pusillanimous tribes in Nigeria. They'll mostly end up exiled if no help comes from ESN.

Great Britain will do whatever is in the best interest of Great Britain, and a collapsed Nigerian state doesn't serve anyone. That said, Nigeria's collapse is inevitable, or so it seems, which means, the British government needs to start thinking about sides. Choosing to side with Biafra is a no-brainer, as the North has nothing to offer. Northern Nigeria is just an overpopulated Niger.
Choosing Biafra has a lot of disadvantages to the British, mainly because they'd be dealing with people who have similitude of objectivity and a lot at stake. A trade by barter with Fulani is a much better deal: Fulani needs a homeland, give them Nigeria in exchange for the massive gas reserves and oil. Dealing with Biafrans means buying everything at current market price. Why do you think these people ganged up against Jonathan? That was a president from the oil producing area who was a clog in the wheel of "business as usual". Do really think that under normal circumstances, that without western influence, that the Fulani had what it took to oust Mr Jonathan? A fact of neo-colonialism is that no leader that has the interest of Africans at heart ever gets the backing of the West. From Congo to Burkina Faso, Mozambique to Angola, it is the same theme occasioned by the whiteman's greed with the consequence being the shedding of the blackman's blood.

Collyweed:
The SE governors are the worst leaders in our history. We have never had it this bad. I am still trying to understand how a set of leaders can be so beholden to outside interests and oblivious to the needs and aspirations of their own people. It is really painful.

They created this power vacuum. Even before all the brouhaha about Herdsmen, the issue of security agents conducting themselves like an occupation force in the SE has been an ongoing one.

In some cases you can literally (no exaggeration) sight on checkpoint from the previous one. NDLEA, Customs(we don’t even have an international border), Army, RRS, Civil Defence, Mopol, Police and so many more.

We have been complaining about these imbeciIes for years. Yet our so called leaders have done nothing about the persistent harassment, intimidation and sometimes outright murder.

When a situation becomes this intolerable then something has to give. You just provide a fertile ground for radicalization which any two bit demagogue can exploit. This has been the case throughout history, across climes and times.

These governor idi0ts have been relying on scare tactics and the brutish Nigerian army for so long that they didn’t realize that there was a limit to even fear itself. How can you even call yourself a leader when you have to use an external force to suppress your own people?

Previously, I blamed people supporting the ESN. However, not withstanding my reservations towards the parent organization, it is clear that our people have been patient for far too long.
The civil war never ended. At least on the Nigerian side. That's why we have had an army of occupation in the former Eastern Region and especially in the SE. That army of occupation has over time morphed to a Fulani army from Nigerian Army as Fulani increasingly held the country in a stranglehold. They're aware that the only real resistance to their domination are IGBO. So the strategy has been to impose people whose allegiance is to the caliphate on Igbo. That is why, irrespective of how hard we try, only Efulefus get elected as leaders in Igbo land. They're aware that if they hold political power by proxy, that they would practically teleguide the affairs of Igbo, thereby making our conquest easy. Otherwise, what business do people like Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, Rochas Okorocha, Hope Uzodimma and the present Anambra state governor have with power in a place like Igbo? I mean, these are known Fulani stooges.

What they never reckoned with is a movement like IPOB. The reality is that people like us never took ipob seriously until we noticed that, unlike MASSOB which was more of a joke, it was led that a resolute Kanu. I was completely bought over when the army killed so many of these unarmed guys. I realized that these are people that cannot be stopped by bullets. They've paid so much price that it would be a disservice not to take a closer look, even if the world doesn't. Who would have stood to defend Igbo if they didn't?

The FG should have left IPOB, IGBOs alone. The frequent killing of unarmed IPOB protesters and road block intimidation of average igbo, abduction of igbo women in obigbo and killing of innocent men in the same area is what will make the FG lose in a war against igbos. America has run away from Afghanistan, Colombia have signed a deal with the FARC rebels. This means that the scope of war has changed especially when fighting against indigenous people who feel betrayed and oppressed by an unjust system. What most people don't understand is that the igbos are a very powerful, rich and brave tribe unlike in the 1960s. They are spread across the world and will send both funds and ammunition to prosecute a war against what they perceive to be a terrorist state trying to wipe out their race. The fulani killings in Igbo land of ebonyi and enugu is the fuel for it. I even believe that once they are done with checkpoints and police stations the next target will be army barracks. The FG should calm down and dialogue. This time around, they won't be able to win a war against the igbos. They are now more united than ever.
Your analysis is very correct, I watched a video a couple of days ago where Nnamdi Kanu was asking IWC to raise money for guns. These guys refused saying "Are we going to war?" That was in 2015 so these Igbo overseas did not see a need to raise money to fight a war. But with the Fulani massacres in Enugu and Ebonyi, you could imagine how the FG played into the hands of IPOB which didn';t have the full backing of IWC initially? Igbo all over the world are now aware of the existential threat posed by Fulani, especially when there were no serious condemnation of the massacres and nothing is done to prevent future occurrence.
