If people actually watched football they'd know Halimatu Ayinde doesn't actually play DM, but because they see her chasing the ball and tackling and assume she does, just goes to show people haven't got a clue about football.

it's more because of the energy she has they just play her flat CM at Eskilstuna United.
The fact she pops up with the odd goal and also finds herself near the opposition box quite alot is an instant giveaway she isnt a DM


She's simply a CENTRAL/BOX-TO-BOX MIDFIELDER, She covers more ground and destroys all over the pitch..

Club or Country this trio are the best in Midfield...

To me (#12) Patri is the best Defensive Midfielder in the World followed by Germany Lena Oberdorf.

SuperFalcons of Nigeria Midfielder, Regina Otu scored her first goal of the season for Belarus Women’s League side, Minsk FK on Friday.

The former Rivers Angels player scored the first goal of the game for Minsk FK in the fourth minute as her team defeated Dnipro Mogilev 4-0.

She also had a hand in one of the goals scored by her teammates ending the game with a goal and an assist.

Her superb performance earned her the Player of the match prize.

Minsk FK occupies the second position on the league table with a point behind league leaders, Zorka-BDU after five games.

NWFL SUPER 6: Monday Gift Joins Bayelsa Queens on Loan.

Bayelsa Queens FC have secured the loan deal of FC Robo and Super Falcons prolific striker Monday Gift ahead of the Nigeria Women Football League Super Six coming up in Benin City, Edo State next month.

The Player was received on arrival at the Bayelsa International Airport in Yenagoa by the Chairman of Bayelsa Queens FC Pastor Apreala Robin Angonimi and later taken to the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Dr Daniel Igali.

Robin Apreala expressed delight to have a player in the mode of Monday Gift to bolster the team as they intensify preparations for the NWFL Super Six.

The Chairman thanked the Proprietor and Coach of FC Robo Emmanuel Osahon Orobosa for his Co-operation and understanding in sealing the loan move of Monday Gift to Bayelsa Queens.

On her part, Monday Gift was elated to be joining a team like Bayelsa Queens as this was her dream for playing under Experienced Coach Moses Aduku . She also promised to put in her best to win the Nigeria Women Football League Super Six with Bayelsa Queens.

Bayelsa Queens FC is also expected to aquire the service of another top player from Zambia before the commencement of the season ending Super Six.

Asisat Oshoala is very quick and it takes some desperate defending to stop her. All she needs right now is to be more Clinical.

As a soccer player, Yewande Balogun 32years, has always wanted to play against the best of the best. In the summer of 2021, she got that chance.

In June, Balogun, a former UMD goalkeeper and assistant coach, was carrying out her responsibilities as an assistant women’s soccer coach at the University of California, Davis while also maintaining her fitness for semi-professional playing opportunities.

Around that time, the Nigerian women’s soccer team was poised to face the U.S. women’s national team in Texas for an international friendly series, which also featured Portugal and Jamaica.

But when COVID-19 travel restrictions resulted in a number of players being unable to meet the team, coach Randy Waldrum began reaching out to his contacts in the U.S. for potential players.

That’s when Balogun, a first-generation Nigerian American whose parents emigrated from Nigeria to the United States in the 1980s, got an unexpected call – a chance to lace up for the Super Falcons and join the team as a substitute for the series.

“You know how they say one phone call or one decision can kind of change your entire life? I feel like that's exactly what's happened,” says Balogun. “It was definitely a different summer than I thought that I was going to have, but I’m so grateful and it’s been quite the journey.”

Balogun, born in Prince George’s County, Md., grew up with a passion for playing on the pitch. Considered one of the top goalkeeping recruits in the country during her high school years, she spent time in the U.S. Youth National Team system. She hoped for a chance at a roster spot with the first team and held aspirations of playing with the Nigerian national team as well.

When it didn’t come to fruition, Balogun continued seeking opportunities to play at a higher level. That led her to join the women’s soccer team at the University of Maryland.

Morocco 2022: Boost for Super Falcons as Oshoala and Ayinde return to training.

Asisat Oshoala and Halimatu Ayinde have returned to full training with Barcelona and Eskilstuna United after recovering from their respective injury spells on the sidelines, SportNewsAfrica can report.

Oshoala had only returned from a knee injury in December 2021 after spending about two months on the sidelines before she yet again recently picked a thigh injury in training on international duties which rules her out of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifying match against Ivory Coast in February.

On her return from almost 10 weeks on the sidelines, she will look to keep alive her quest for the Spanish golden boots with her 19 goals in 16 matches for the already crowned champions Blaugranes, despite now behind Madrid CFF's Geyse in the race by just a goal with three games left to play this season.

The four-time African Women's Footballer of the Year is likely to make a Women's Champions League return when Barcelona take on Wolfsburg in semi-final on April 22 after she missed the quarterfinal triumph over Real Madrid.

On the other hand, Ayinde suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing for her Eskilstuna FC against Hackens on May 22, 2021 and ensured a lengthy spell on the sidelines, missing the chance to help her club claim a Women's Champions League spot in late 2021 season campaign and early 2022 Damallsvenskan opening fixtures.


Despite both missing Nigeria's 3-0 triumph over Cote d'Ivoire in February, Oshoala and Ayinde, who featured prominently in the West African nation's three successive triumphs at the continent's showpiece will be huge addition to the reigning champions' campaign in the first ever 12 -nation women's competition three months from now.

The Nigerians duo return will bring huge smiles on the face of coach Randy Waldrum, having both missed the last four competitive matches of the Super Falcons as the nine-time champions hope to extend their dominance on the continent at the 2022 TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco later in July.
