Yeah Esther Ijeoma Okoronkwo seems to be the best option between the 3 of them, can take on defender with her Skill and also deliver dangerous ball into the box. Good at tracking back to help out in defense..


Currently has 4goals and 2assists in 17 League in the FEMININE DIVISION 1 in France, this is her first season playing pro and her Clubside currently sit at the bottom of the table..

At the Summer Series she had a goal disallowed for an offside against Jamaica..

This past AWCON qualifying game against CIV she Scored 1goal and 1assist.

Interesting discussion, even though I am a bit late to the party...

The problem with Demehin and to some degree Debbie Abiodun is they have plateaued with regards what they can learn at the local level. I recall the same thing happening to Ajibade years ago, prior to her going overseas. As a footballer, there comes a point in time, especially for younger players, where you need a different environment to continue (actually, improve and maximize) your growth and development, primarily because you are not learning anything new or challenging in your current environment.

Ajibade, for me, is a perfect case study. I saw her performances at the 2018 WAFCON (before she went overseas) and comparing to now - the difference is like night and day. The timing of her move overseas, first to Avadnes (NOR) then Athletico Madrid (ESP) was absolutely perfect for her growth and development. Now we are seeing how she continues to evolve into becoming one of the very best players on the continent, without a doubt. Had she remained in the local leagues, she would never have evolved the way she has now.

Summary:
A lot of folks here just want to throw these youngsters into the deep end and expect they will swim (like they are in the youth teams). Often times, its premature, as most of them are simply not ready for it and they fail. That's why its very important that you carefully manage their growth and development, else the results might be catastrophic. Based on the few matches I have watched so far, there about six (6) players in the U20 team that could become really good enough for the Falcons IF their development is very well managed, namely Esther Onyenezide, Flourish Sabastine, Debbie Abiodun, Tosin Demehin, Omowunmi Oshobukola and Taiwo Lawal. I am sure there may be others who could shine in the U20 WC and beyond.

Take Vivian Obianujuwan Ikechukwu (24yrs) another case of Study, How she has developed within this few years. Even though her move to Europe came a little late unlike Ajibade, Okeke and Co..


Just watch out for how she's going to develop her game better and better with her move to the Romanian giant where she would be playing in the UEFA Women's Champions League too, it's going to be a valuable experience for her and am very certain within two year she should find herself in one of the top5 league in Europe...

Monday Gift still need this to up her game cause the hype is too much and she hasn't really prove a point yet!...

Well, Abiodun is also another option. Mbadi has been with the team for some time now that's why I included her name.

Abiodun is another Combative Defensive Midfielder i saw believe we do a great job in the future... Whenever I see her play Ndidi come to my mind..

Going to the AWCON is a no to me, After the U20 FIFA Women's World Cup she can come into the set up as per her performance

1 -Our talent pool is deep. Perhaps the deepest it has ever been.

2 -How will the coaching staff balance the team going into the Summer AWCON/World Cup Qualification session? It will be interesting to see.

Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie case should explain better to you am not saying the other one isn't successful, look one came before the other but the later stole the show even Stella Mbachu was here before her too.
Perpetual Nkwocha came in early in the 2000 and she was more of a Midfielder then for the Superfalcon, Playing every position in the Midfield and her goalscoring prowess set her ahead of the others..


If you watch 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany.... against Germany in Particular she played as a Midfielder alongside Chikwelu, they both rotated it among themselves, one staying back for the other to move upfront a bit..

@Schemerkhiz one thing I'll like your opinion on is how Perpetual Nwokocha became that relevant. I don't know how credible the information on Wikipedia is, but I recently tried to draw parallels between certain players and I noticed something;

Mercy Akide aged 46
Florence Omagbemi aged 47
Ngozi Eucharia aged 48


Then,

Perpetual Nwokocha aged 46

They are obviously around the same age range but one went on to be the most successful player of her time. What exactly led to this? It appears the other women got into the team earlier than she did and also retired early, but what made Perpetual different?

I think we should be particular about certain skill set and that should inform who should be first on the pecking order. In my opinion we need someone who is skilled and confident enough to take shots outside the box. Any of them who is more skilled in this wise will be my choice

Talking about skills and ability to take on defenders one-on-one it should be Esther Okoronkwo..

Look here, Esther Okoronkwo is another Smart striker we have, She's tactically discipline and technically gifted, even with her bodyframe she's so aggressive upfront, She plays mainly from the Left Wing and as a Center forward.

Between Okoronkwo, Kanu and Ordega who should be our third striker to pay with Oshoala and Onumonu...?

I really look forward to that. Only skeptical about a last touch in the final third. Asisat isn't a clinical finisher, that's where Onumonu excels, we will need the genius of the coach to have them leverage on each other's strength. Oshoala makes all the run and gives great passes and Ify buries them.

Worth mentioning in my opinion is how dangerous the girls suddenly became with set pieces. Tony Payne's crosses were dangerous and it's been a while I saw that. Kudos to her.

Tony Payne is a star right from her College days down to Ajax WFC and now at Sevilla, if not that we have many options upfront i would have Loved to see Payne at the Right Wing just the way she plays for Sevilla FC..

Rita should retire, preferably after the AWCON. I can make a case for Onome Ebi retiring after the world cup nest year as she still brings a lot to the team, but Rita brings absolutely nothing. The world cup is next year, one year is too long to deal with sticking her on the bench especially when we she'll be taking the spot of someone else we should be grooming to take her place

Ebi retirement is surely after the World Cup, For Rita Chikwelu i don't just know what to say, An inform Okobi should be donning that No.10 jersey.. Since 2006 Rita Kee..

The Canada game really revealed something fundamental I didn't notice prior to now; we lack pace up front. I was quite surprised we didn't have one occasion where the Canadian defence was put on the run. Nicole and Onyi did a bit of that but not those I expected to. It's why our counter attack strategy largely didn't work amongst other things.

This is were Asisat Oshoala comes in, that her blasting pace was arguably missed upfront. Fransisca Ordega who was next to Oshoala in terms of pace haven't really recovered to her self from 2020 till date...

One thing am impressed with the likes of Ifeoma Onumonu, Tony Payne, Ashleigh Plumptre and Co is that they play with their whole heart ready to risk it out unlike the Super Eagles player's who feel like star boys...


Against Canada, Onumonu was pressing high and high, doing her defensive duties too.. She has proven too well that she's playing in the best league in the World.


Randy Should just look between Kanu, Ordega and Okoronkwo to pair with Oshoala and Onumonu in a front 3...

Desire Oparanozie have got a lot in her but her pace have dropped a lot, she gives us a lot of options upfront, holding on to play, she knows how to draw defenders off position and remain the option to take Free kicks close to the box.. She's the best 9 we have got but her major weakness is a Speed..

The no.9 option right now is between Oshoala and Onumonu, they both can play it when the game is on like the way Oparanozie, Ordega and Oshoala used to Swap wing among themselves..

If you're going to play both together, Otu would have to sit in front of the defense leaving Ucheibe to travel Box-to-Box which she has been doing for Benfica FC this Season..

Now that Halimatu Ayinde is back it's going to be another head ache for Randy as she best combine with Okobi very well..

Rita Chikwelu shouldn't be starting any game for the Superfalcons at this Stage until she retires, She can come in maybe 5 minutes to go when we're on a safe spot just to boost her number of Caps at least.

The Midfield battle is going to be tough going to the AWCON, if the Coaches get their Selection and Combination of 3 in the Midfield right then we're good to go... Having Rita Chikwelu, Regina Otu, Christy Ucheibe, Rasheedat Ajibade, Halimatu Ayinde, Ngozi Okobi, Tony Payne, Amanda Mbadi, Peace Efih.

We're definitely going to the AWCON with 6 or 7 Midfielders..

It's easy to bring in young players when you are in control of a game. It will help ease the pressure on the said player.

Shebi Canada just played a friendly competition in England in February against Germany, England and Spain. Where were the youngsters then. I bet they didn't play because they played tougher oppositions where they aren't in control of the games most of the time.

It's easy for our coach to play the younger players or even some of our U20 girls like Demehin and co against a lesser opposition, especially when we play African teams, because we will have more control and the players will still show their talents with less pressure without having to be chasing the ball up and down for 90 minutes

Is not about bringing in U20 or which ever younger player, It’s a different pace at the International level, you can be technically gifted and brilliant but if you can’t handle the pace of international football you won’t have the opportunity to show how technically gifted you’re and make a great game..

The pace here is just about running but how fast you can think and make decisions..
