Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Have You Ever Quit Your Job Without Having A Back Up Plan? by Scholarforever: 7:10pm On Feb 21, 2016 |
blackprowler: You think back-up plans are foolproof? Yea, I quit my well-paid job, my back-up plan crashed and I don't have money now. No, I don't regret quitting my job as I had many many years to think about it. In Nigeria I know your logic is to regret an action if your subsequent hopes don't pan out. That's wrong. They don't have to be linked necessarily. I'm a much much better person and know a lot more today than I would if I stayed on the job. What just remains is that spark of opportunity and all the equipping I've been doing on myself will bear fruits - and it will come. I do not go after the money as most Nigerians; I go after my personal happiness and contentment. Some jobs force you to live a lie, and I'm just not that kind of person I can't agree with u more. In fact my experience is similar to yours and I am not regretting my decision in any way. One thing is certain, before d end of this year I will become an entrepreneur. Nothing good comes easy. |

kimond101: Indeed God guides whom he wills to the straight path. I was born a muslim, I went in search for the truth( I became a christian for a while then I reverted back to Islam because I found the truth in Islam) by the favour of God. I do not worship the created (Jesus), I worship the creator (God). There's no compulsion in religion. If Dr Ayuba feels christianity is where the truth he found is, we all would know on the day of judgement. People convert daily from Islam to christianity and likewise from Christianity to Islam. But the truth stands clear from falsehood. One of d truths which I know God will reveal to us when d time comes is that nobody has d right to force his religion down d throat of another man and sentence d man to death if he refuses. I am sure God will also be willing to let us know that he is powerful enough to fight for himself without d help of any man. As for Ayuba this is not news. He has tilted towards Xtianity for long. I know this because I was once his daughters' teacher. |

TippyTop: Dear Chris Okotie Stealing people's wives/money and charging people for tithes is also corruption/sin in the eyes of our lord and saviour. Those who pay tithes do so on their own volition. Mind u, we have Xtians who don't pay tithe. I am not a fan of Pastor Chris but I support his views on this issue of corruption. I am apolitical but I daily pray for Buhari's success in his governance. Mind you, I am not saying he is perfect, no one is, not even you. When we see people who support accountability d best we can do is to encourage them. This is d only WAY to d Nigeria of our DREAM. |

omooba969: I still don't understand the importance of this obas other than upholding incongruous culture & traditions.
They haven't brought about any progress or development in any shape or form whatsoever. They probably lack ideas. Most of them are divisive figures and political arse lickers, the reason they are pawns in the hands of robber politicians in the scheme of things.
Corrupt Obas.
Before the advent of British colonialism, these obas were in total charge of their subjects. Criminals were rightly punished either directly by d kings or by invoking d wrath of d gods. Honesty was esteemed. Questionable wealth was disdained. Virgins were celebrated. Rape was a taboo. To me d only minus to their rule was d practice of human sacrifice. Despite their lack of formal education then they ruled so efficiently that Lord Lugard had to coopt them into his governance through his Indirect Rule System. wirinet: Yes o. That is the Nigerian Constitution. The state are not obliged to give account of their expenditure to anybody, not even the federal government. As long as the expenditure is bugdeted for by the state assembly, there is nothing anybody can do. Are u aware that no state can take any foreign loan without d ratification of fed govt? I understand that states enjoy autonomy but d state assembly which has d right to question the governors has been reduced to a mere puppet in all d Nigerian states. D expenditure in question ought to have been queried by d legislature that worked with Amechi. |
Politics › Re: Yes We Spent 82million On Soyinka But......nddc Boss by Scholarforever: 9:19pm On Jan 11, 2016 |
wirinet: But Metuh did not say he spent 400 million organizing anything. Mrs. Ibim Semenitari has documents, invoices and receipts showing how the N85million was spent. Even though the amount is exhorbitant, it is covered. According to the Nigerian Federation, what a state decide to spend its money on is its own business, as long as it is legally covered.
Now, ask Metuh to show documents on how he spent N400 million of arms money meant to fight boko Haram. The money allegedly stolen by Metuh is Federal Money and not state money, so naturally the federal govenment would want to recover its stolen money. In other words a state govt has d legal backing to spend its money anyhow. Is that what u are driving at? |
