Politics › GEJ And The Second Niger Bridge by Scholes007(op): 11:02pm On Apr 04, 2016 |
This is not a matter of APC or PDP neither is a matter of buhari or jonathan, but the progress of our nation. Funding a bridge like 2NB involves huge capital investment. Sourcing and funding such investment can be done by i. The state(country) alone if they have the capital ii. Through ppp(private public partnership) scheme iii. And Through loan. Gej lead administration adopted the second which is ppp, it takes a long time and some bureaucratic bottleneck to accomplish that. In ppp the govt and private sector has some quota they have to invest and in this case FG is committed to contribute 28% and private investors 72% under a 25 years concession. A huge amount of 10billion was committee by GEJ administration, meaning that GEJ was the only one that started the actual work on the bridge hence history of the bridge cannot be written without him. |

Babacele: you spew nonsense because of your ignorance and hatred. Apart from security reasons, Nigeria has radioactive minerals which can power atomic processes eg power stations and bombs. President Buhari isnt clueless n understands the economic and security implications of participating in a very important global discussion like the alternative energy from Nuclear sources ,viz-a-viz global terrorism issues. Hate- filled hearts and a pretentious ignorance is a more dangerous bomb mix than a Nuke. Hate?! Who do i hate? my nation or my president? Who? See my friend nigeria is not an active nuclear member hence i see no reason why our president should prioritize this summit especially now. He should have possibly sent delegate, unless you want to tell me we are about to go nuke politics. |

Dakad: Thanks my brother from another mother. Honestly, the south East needs to build more bridges. Be tactical while planing their politics. And never put ALL their EGGS in one basket. There should always be plan B. I see South Eastern produces president in 2023 because most Nigerians believe it's long overdue. However, This depends on how they play their politics come 2019. You are welcome my brother, i may not understand what you mean by putting all eggs in one basket but i believe we should be tactical while building/amending bridges with others. As for plan B i think we should look for more than that. |

Babacele: persons in positions determine 'fairness' to their people unless u can tell me Igbo sons n daughters in power, n most especially d GEJ's 6 years , are Hausa Fulani or Ofenmanus who have shortchanged 'our people'. let us be academic n use empirical evidences rather than evasive approach. Eg when Yoruba n Hausa states are busy employing Igbo s into their civil service , a Theodore Orji was sacking non-Abian igbos. Theo must be a 'yolobaman'. what do you mean by 'fairness' is determine by people in power to their people? Are you saying a person from a particular group/place in Nigeria should determine development of his group alone? Well, i see no reason bringing GEJ or T. A. Orji into this. Gej 6 years saw a much tolerance and peace among the citizens in nigeria unlike what is/was obtainable from other. Also i see no reason turning T. A. Orji's obnoxious policy which affects all nigerians into igbo nonsense. He retrenched non-Abians, which include all other nigerians not only igbos. His blonder was resisted by all including Abians.( mind you he rescind the policy and entrenched all retrenched worker into Abia state civil service so you have no point at all ) |

LudaChriz: Zombie, how many African President do u see there?
Nigeria can not even boost of solar energy yet talk more of nuclear they said we are gaint of Africa, i think he went there to restore our gaintism. Do you know what it means to snap pictures with world leaders in a nuclear summit? Even if you are irrelevant there, you may still be a matter. You have weight(even though is a dead weight) and occupy space. |

blackpanda: God forbid!
First of all, we cant trust an igbo man not to split and destroy this country since it is clear they dont believe in the Nigerian project in the first place.
Secondly, they are not the only group that hasnt produced president. What u a benue man thats talking?? Marginalization has nothing to do with
Then, because of an igbo man's innate greed and lust for money, we cant trust them not to sell out nigeria
Not to mention igbos arent even united. An average igbo man wants to pull down the next igbo man. So it will be next to impossible to even win within the SE region, let alone at national level! clearly you are wrong. An igbo man never fight to poll his brother down. Igbo have this rear nature of defending his brother even in odd situation. As for the unity of igbos you are also very wrong, igbos is never divided in the south east you quoted though there maybe some set backs in the region called south south especially rivers that does not equate to disunity. |
Politics › Re: Igbo President by Scholes007(m): 6:44am On Apr 02, 2016 |
Babacele: fairness in what ,how and by who? Fairness in the distribution, excution and implementation of any federal project. Fairness in policy excutions, fairness in all other things that have skewed nigeria towards its failures and un-progressiveness. some people may call for new federalism but i think it is a tall order in nigeria today, hence there are ways some of the flaws in the state can be solved. The igbo nation as we know it has never been the problem of the nation nigeria, but has been in the fore front of some fairness and orderlines |

Dakad: I believe PDP that they supported almost 98% in 2015 will have a rethink about their quest for Northern presidential candidate in 2019 and give them the sloth. Honestly I believe in equality and support the idea that South East produces President by 2019. However, if the region is serious about producing president of Nigeria, they need to change their political game plan. what sort of game plan are you talking about? You view will be highly appreciated. |

senior123: Good now you are understanding it. This is the fundamental rule. Make Wealth and keep wealth home, within your extended family. We are beginning to notice this in Benue. If you are waiting for Nigerian Govt you are wasting your time, they do not care about the land, just the mafia who has found another gold mine. In benue, we started farming, and selling. And now we have some well to do people helping. Even David Mark and the Governor are absolutely useless. They want every one to play boy toy to them. Forget them. I understand your concern about some affairs related to the igbos in the country.Igbos maynot be waiting for the fed govt to develop some certain sectors of its economy but they call for fairness of all stakeholders in the country which is lacking. Unlike what you said earlier, we are not oppressed but we are seen as enemy. Every move in nigeria equates to Nigeria vs igbos. It creates some phobia within the citizens and the nation. |

senior123: I know the igbo population and I know their strenght. I schooled in Anabra state for 5 years. They mostly make me laugh and very industrous. I believe the people are very under ratted. You need to begin to build your city. I think that is what is important now. It is obvious now that our govt is useless and have absolutely no use. Even in Benue we got tired of screaming and decided to build slowly with the small rich people we have. Igbo have staked alot for one nigeria with little returns for it. We have learnt in a hard way that there is no place like home, then we have realized that even with so much wealth if you have nothing at home we are nothing but a floating gaint. A new philosophy was born which is "Invest home". Thanks to obi of onitsha we pioneered this call. Our cities are been built, our local economy are been strenghtened and our unity, importance and relivance renewed. Like i often tell my brothers, we must maintain our unity and shelve this idea of presidency at moment, we should play a strong regional politics in the two regions we have stronghold... We also have to form a new reliable friend(middle belt). For the record "Only a fool will under rate the Igbos, and he who does that is at his own peril..." |

Abagworo: Fast foward to March 2016 and you will appreciate the gains of change. It is now virtually a smooth ride from Port Harcourt to Owerri with a mere 200 metres of little shake at Imo/Rivers boundary. Even the interior village Roads of Umuapu are not left out as almost all the connecting roads which were hitherto earth roads have now been tarred and marked. Both the State and FG have given those who ply that route a cause to smile after 4 years of horror. you are terrible liar, the federal part has been under construction way before your change. |

Nice write up. It is so painful when i wake up every morning to see nigeria going from worse to worst. The little time i thought nigeria was going forward, some self acclaimed messiah with so many promises came and returned the hand of clock to the bad old days. They resurrected tribalism which have been the worst enemy of the nation. Now we have this very failed state with highly unpatriotic citizens who love their tribe way much more than the nation... So shameful Some of us find joy in this current failure just because of hatred. |

Well, that ok.
I am not even sure he is d one that incurred d debts, but if he is the one, that's like our monthly allocation from FG for the next 6months probabily. I am not against debts but i hate over indebtedness by some of the governor. Argueably, one can say obiano " is investing those debt into sustainable develop". The investment drawn into the state needs some state financial support which sometimes may lead the state a borrowing. |
