TheGoodJoe:

Why will the Governors not drag the FG to court when they were taking money out of the ECA without appropriation?

ECA: FAAC faults Okonjo-Iweala, denies approving $2bn
withdrawal

The Federation Account Allocation Committee on Tuesday
faulted comments credited to a former Minister of
Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, that it approved the
withdrawal of $2bn from the Excess Crude Account.
The committee, in a statement issued on its behalf by
Forum of Finance Commissioners in Abuja, stated that
the law setting it up did not give it the power to approve
withdrawals from the ECA.

You will not see the one NOI took, only Governors.

“When I returned to the department in 2011, there remained only $4 billion on this account while the price of oil was very high! I tried again to put money aside. The president agreed, but the governors did not accept...Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

How can you not see the point in this thread when NOI made such a statement recently?
yes of cos the gov sue them to court. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/swf-govs-drag-fg-to-s-court/

Buhari + Kemi Adeosun = Met A Mismanaged Economy.

GEJ + Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala = Destroyed Our Economy.

Here we go again with this when did we suffer the most . Last time i checked lubricant companies has already sent sos to buhari as they are at the verge of shutting down. Motorist are now abandoning their vehicles, their is double digit inflation, people now sleep at fuel stations, nigeria broke a guiness record of the longest queue in the world and many un-countable ordeals.

Wrong bro, US refused to sell arms not because of any human right violation tin, the main reason was because they feared the arms might eventually get into the wrong hands (boko Haram), because it was at tht time tht Boko Haram was attacking military installions n disarming them n carting away with weapons of d military now thts y the US refused to sell........ Nd all this happened over GEJ tenure, they simply didn't sell to him because they saw him as a joke. An ineffectual buffoon
and the eastern europe was not afraid right? And the usa was so quick to congrated and recognise him (GEJ). See my friend nigeria is not the first place where an election is won or lost, so i see no reason calling anyone names. Don't forget a nigerian who should be protecting the image of nigeria was the one calling his past president a buffoon in the name of writing an article.

He placed Nigeria as a regional power yet if u remember the US refused to sell arms to him, he smuggled cash into South Africa to do illegal trade deal n d South Africa govt seized d money because he broke intl law, he got mercenaries to fight Boko from South Africa breaking their laws n u say we were respected, so u now tell me, how did u arrive at your own conclusion, or urs is just been sentimental
You accuse me of sentiments while smearing your comment with illogical sentiments. The US has policies that bar countries that has human right violation records from acquiring weapon from them. And Nigeria as a country has this ugly record due to the military rule (they will not also sale any weapon to buhari if he request unless they feel some certain conditions are met.). Knowing that US is a pro human right state, they had some reluctancy in saling weapons that nigeria was in dear need of. They played politics and some sort of sabotage to the progress of eliminating boko haram. Nigeria in it desperations was looking for possible ways of acquiring weapons hence the quest to look for other alternatives. Though there was some hitches encountered, nigeria pull through especially with the eastern european nation...
I think what is lacking with most people in nigeria is not knowing when to be patriotic and when to play politics

Ikpeazu is just puppet doing his masters bidding.do you know how much the state is owing without anything to show for. How long do you think he can be deceiving people before he start paying his master with state funds ?
how much is abia owning? Last time i checked abia is not one of the states with huge debt burden.

I dont think you are in Nigeria. Nigeria's image was all time low during Jonathan asides from Abacha. Dont be deceived by the so called FDI during GEJ, those were foreigners who say a loop hole in our system and made so much profit from it without any developmental impact on the country. GEJ handed over a government and country in a very bad shape. We must show some patience with the current administration. The constant attacking and cursing will not change anything.
you are wrong though am not here to discuss who's administration was at record low,but This administration should focus on it's agenda without making everything look as if nigeria is between GEJ and PMB. Let them face their problems. Let them prove there are what they claim.

[size=14pt]These are wise Igbo leaders building bridges across our ethnic divide. Rochas and Ikpeazu are two potential presidential materials grooming in the East. This has always been the advice we gave to the Igbos to drop politics of hatred and their victim mentality and embrace one Nigeria so they can produce president and become politically relevant. All of a sudden a mentally deranged Nnamdi Kanu emerged and started preaching a dead and Buried Biafra of 1967-1970. He almost turned the igbos against other tribes by preaching hate and divisiveness before he was eventually captured like a rat hooked on Trap. May God punish Nnamdi Kanu and may he rot in Jail.

God bless Rochas and Ikpeazu.

God bless lord Luggard for merging us together.

What is giving these PDParians and Jonathanians hope of a possible railroading of PMB is what still amazes me. Hon Leo Ogoh earlier this morning on Channelstv said he wished GEJ had done the needful when he had the time, PMB would have been coasting and those were his words. He went further to say it is not a party problem and that all hands must be n deck to fix it. He called fr deregulation of the petroleum industry and spoke directly to PMB asking him to tell Nigerians to endure pain for a while and expect light at the tunnel's end. Leo Ogoh said these and that was encouraging.
ok now we should be sentimental because of buhari? We should endure pains because of buhari?...
In summary nigerians should be zombiefied because of buhari, right?

PoliticsRe: GEJ And The Second Niger Bridge by Scholes007(op): 7:29am On Apr 05, 2016
arresa:
1. Please tell why GEJ didn't approve the entire FG funds for the project like he did for projects in the North amd SW and why he settled for PPP.
The project is a very massive & capital intensive project, the FG couldn't take on it alone hence settled down on ppp.

2. PPP means instead of the FG paying for the bridge, the end users in the SE are going to pay for the bridge for 25 years out o their own pocket.
Yes, it means that a certain concession will be granted to the private investor to recover the input. It will apply to all citizens ply the road. note: it's not only SE that use the bridge, it service all nigerian mostly the SE, SS & some part of middle belt.

3.
At N117 billion, the cost was grossly inflated to allow JB to rake in serious profits for 25 years at the expense of the end users in the SE.
For a grand project like that? No no it is not, you can read more about similar bridges and their cost.

4. Lekki Ikpyi bridge is the best and the most sophisticated bridge in Nigeria and it cost only N29 billion.
lekki bridge is on where near that bridge. In lenght, width, facillities etc there is no comparism

5. Bottom line, GEJ going the PDP route is not doing you any favor, he basically sold you off to JB for 25 years of toll payments. It means you are going to pay out of your pocket for that bridge.
nigerian is not the only place such procedure is adopted. Concession is never a bad thing as you paint it.

If GEJ rewarding his pillar of support aka the SE with 25 years toll payment on what they should enjoy free without paying out of their own pocket just like the other regions with fully FG funded projects, them enjoy the scam and erect a statue fo GEJ to worship forever...

Why you people let hate, tribalism and ignorance cloud your judgement is still a misery..
sorry i did not mention tribe i see no reason shouting tribalism up and down.

PoliticsRe: GEJ And The Second Niger Bridge by Scholes007(op):
4 Did his administration complete it? No.
5. Why? because he couldn't win his second term bid. He lost to the sitting president M. Buhari.
6. Did buhari Abandon the project? No he didn't.
7. Why is there out cry? it is Because of the very slow pace of work on the site.
8. What brought about the slow pace of work? Economic down turn. The project cost was done when naira(nigerian local currency) was #154/dollar and there was a sharp depreciation on naira. Since the project is a ppp and will mostly be excuted on naira there is need for renegotiation on the cost and concession of the project.
9 Does that mean the project will be stopped? that depends on the renewed agreement between the FG and the private investors.
10 what should we do ? wait, observe and contribute positively towards the project.
PoliticsRe: GEJ And The Second Niger Bridge by Scholes007(op):
This thread is to put records straight about the second niger bridge. I will use question and answer method to do this. I will be asking and and answering 10 question on it. Other peoples view/opinion is highly accepted.
1 Has real work started on second niger bridge? the answer is yes.
2. When did they start the project? The project preliminary studies was started in the early quarter of 2013. And the on site construction started on may 2015
3. Who was the president that commenced it? former president; Goodluck Ebele Jonathan commenced the project. His administration committed #18.3 billion out of the #30 billion to be invested by the FG. 10 billion was disbursed.
