Schoolguy9:
I know what this looks like.

My heart just melted when I saw the headline. I have been in the same line! Thank God I never sustained much injuries. The thing is there was this day, I went for concrete casting and while it was raining , I tried to carry a bucket of it and the thing hit the ground! While I was still trying to carry the bucket, the contents split out and entered my eyes! That day, I felt dead because I couldn't see. Thank God for my colleague that led me by holding my hands. I just told him, "Guy, abeg spend all this money on drugs!" Because the only thing on my mind was to get well.

Now, talking about assisting bricklayers as a labourer, that is the work I hate most! Some of them can be lazy, bad-mouthed or careless and when anything happens, both of you will bear the consequence.

On the day that a whole lot of cement entered my eyes, I was afraid because I thought the thing would become stiff there! I thank God at last, the cement later gave way for tears.

WHAT I DO?

After I discovered that a Mason man can earn N16,000.00 in a day and pay his labourer N3,000.00, I went in a rage to find my own jobs like Filling of block holes, filling of foundations before concrete casting for german floor, compound levelling, concrete floor assistant, recommendation of water seal cement, assisting with blocks only, digging of soak away pits, concreting (at times) and digging of foundation proper!

In all these, you just discuss with the Owner or Engineer on how much he should pay you before you start work and not depend on any mason! While online, I recommend Pwan Homes products and try to blog about my experience on www.adulpted.com though, I hope to move to www.turbanglu.com soon with more potentials.

Recently, I got home to rest for sometime and would like to continue soon. Meanwhile, I am a graduate of Microbiology and would like to land a job soon or further.

I am still thanking God for Nairaland because it connects me to useful information. THANKS TO THOSE WHO GAVE AND OP, MAY GOD KEEP YOU ALIVE.

TO EXPAND MORE:

I don't usually do concrete casting because once you get there, they see you as someone who would want to cheat like others by removing 2 buckets of sand out of 11 while measuring.

I hope to make money online because it's easier!

I am patient.

PropertiesTop 8 Reasons To Overlook Cheap Properties. by Schoolguy9(op): 8:11am On Jan 17, 2023
It might not be a popular opinion though, because people actually like cheap things but when matters of longevity are concerned, such a mindset should be jettisoned.

Here are top 8 reasons to select properties that suit your taste rather than cheap ones:

1. Location
One thing you must know is that most cheap properties are located in scarcely populated areas! Though, it is not always the case, you will chime in with me that this is mostly the case because people in built-up areas know the worth of their money and wouldn't go for anything less.

2. Personality.
At times, where you live says a lot about who you are! Forget about cheap things when you have a taste for luxury. Because we don't even know who is who, it is good to buy properties in areas where you can be recognized irrespective of the price.

3. Counterfeit.
Let's not argue it, people who live in rural areas can accept anything! Even the same types of design. If you need something unique and worthwhile, consider saving up more!

4. Authenticity
When you buy land in an expensive environment, you won't joke with your documents. In some cases, the price for making survey plans are up to N300k and that is an amount of money that you can just add something to and buy a plot in some local areas! But then, if you know what you actually want, you can go for it.

In essence, make sure that the documents you receive on your landed properties are actually authentic because you can't joke with huge sums of money unlike in the case of cheap properties where you can easily let things slide by.

5. Alliance.
When you come into a neighborhood, you become a neighbour! Though, it is not a must to mingle, those you move with matter! Every estate is like a mini city where you meet people everyday. To avoid being in the midst of people you wouldn't like to associate with, find lands in better areas irrespective of the prices.

6. Serenity
For the sanity of your mind and for the security of your family members, buy lands in a place where you can have a say in everything that concerns you! Of course, every person who buys land in a lowlife environment might want to keep quiet while others are talking. Always go for the best!

7. Your money's worth.
At times, you pay huge sums of money and still don't get what you want! This is because you didn't go to the right people! When inspecting properties, shine your eyes. In fact, if you cannot do the site visitations yourself, pay someone to do it because you can afford it rather than regretting later!

8. Support.
When you call, the person you are doing business with answers because huge amount of money is involved! I am not talking about preferential treatment here but naturally, some people like to go after some big fishes rather than crumbs. When buying land in an expensive area, you will receive much attention and when anything happens in the future (God forbid!), you will solicit support and find it because you have followed due process.

I am able to decipher that we have come to terms with the fact that these 8 reasons are enough to make you let go of cheap properties or even free things because, in actuality, nothing is free!!!

Some people would like to add, "Even in Freetown." That I know, for sure.

LiteratureRe: Nancy Is Pregnant! by Schoolguy9(op): 5:26am On Jan 17, 2023
3. Hmm.
If I tell you where I started, you will just pity me. When I think about Nancy and her pregnancy, I just shake my head! She had been pressuring me to give her attention but I refused. In fact, even when I left the village, I stopped picking her calls!

Yes! I was doing some things with Chichi in the city but I kept a large portion of my heart for Nancy! What baffled me most was that her parents were not even castigating her! It was even her mother that was going all over the village singing that she would soon be a grandmother.

One day, I sat down to think about my life but nothing came into my mind. So, I left. I gave myself to palm wine, bush meat and vegetable meals just to forget my sorrows but I couldn't. Within 8 days, I had lost weight like never before!

Oh' if only Nancy had waited!
LiteratureRe: Nancy Is Pregnant! by Schoolguy9(op): 5:19am On Jan 17, 2023
2. One good turn deserves another.
The truth is that I promised to forgive Nancy because she had been through a lot for me! When I was in the village doing nothing, she raised the money for my travels! This was somebody who stole her father's money, gave her life savings and even sold her younger brother's bike just to see me through the storms of life.

When I complained to my bosom friend about all these, he blamed me for being too soft. "Na you cause all these," he said!

"You should have been hard on her so that she would reveal the identity of the father!" He concluded.

I was shattered, broken and even too emotional to respond. Just when I thought it was time to settle down, Nancy came up with this! I tried to move on but her voice still kept ringing bells in my mind.

"After all I have done for you, this is how you pay me back? Because of this little mistake. O' I see. You're now comfortable staying away from me." She accused me one morning that I went out to meet her under the udara tree on her requested.

I couldn't even utter a word because my mind was consumed with thoughts. That day, as I went home, I spoke with Chichi on phone and she told me that it was over between us because she needed sometime to prepare for her exams!

"What has gotten over me?" I wondered. Because the two women in my life deserted me, I couldn't eat.

"Chichi, I ghotago? " I tried to calm her down and let her know there was a reason for my absence without telling her but she wouldn't take it.

That day, I wept like a baby before going to bed and by the time I wake up, all my body was just cool.
LiteratureNancy Is Pregnant! by Schoolguy9(op): 5:04am On Jan 17, 2023
All my life, I have always tried to avoid problems but they kept running to me! Honestly, I didn't do it.

Last year, December 26, I went to their house to see her after I had returned to the village on 24th but to my greatest surprise, I was welcomed by her protruding belly and I was shocked. This was the same person I left with good tidings about the future earlier on!

"How manage?" Was what I could hear myself say that afternoon.

"In-law, cool down. Come inside and let us talk!" Was all that her father could say. Honestly, I was shattered.

"E e eh, don't in-law me!" I said and ran out of the compound, then Nancy followed. The truth is, I had an idea of a great future for Nancy but she ruined it!

It's been days now, I haven't gone to see them.

7. If this, then that.
There was one woman I gave a piece of advice on how to run her marital affairs, she went home and killed her husband!

What happened was that I told her to shut him up with a kiss always, she went home and shut him up with a key because the man used to talk too much! For 5 days, the man did not see the sun. So, he died out of agony!

I bred for him but it was too late. The king summoned me and said I should stop whatever counseling it was that I was giving to the people and I agreed! Maybe, that was not my calling. Already, I knew that the king wouldn't take a severe action against me because I was his so-called steward !

Later, when I went back to my father to sick advice on what next to do with my life, he told me to sit down and think about my life. I told him that there was no time for that as that might amount in procrastination but he insisted. "If that be the case," I said to myself! "Then I must continue with my secret businesses! After all, it is our national cake and birthright."

That year, I launched deep into the oceans and caught fishes in the restricted areas! The king never knew about it because I was using my boys to perpetrate the act and whosoever tried to stop me, I threatened to unleash one of those lions on him or her.

At a point, the council of elders came to complain to the Igwe about my nefarious activities but he never bothered because he was beginning to see a faithful son-in-law in me! Even Okafor who was a seasoned smuggler came to seek my advice on certain things.

Maybe, I was born to be an international smuggler but my father didn't know about it! We smuggled fish, palm oil, ogiri, ukpaka, coconut oil, udara, cassava and oranges in and out of the villages without paying tax and the king was still paying me monthly for being in his service!

The good thing about me was that after doing these businesses, I used to settle boys well.

After my encounter with Ezemmuo, people started coming to me for sincere advice! What happened was that I went to his shrine with the pretence of being able to take the oath. So, when he gave me the calabash and told me to say everything he was saying, I kept saying whatever came into my mind! So, he rushed me and wanted to lift me up from the ground and I dodged, went round him and held his neck from the back and in a jiffy, the calabash and everything in it went clashing on the floor!

The villagers waited for a dragon to vomit fire as he used to threaten them that failure for anyone to follow his directives, he would unleash the dragon but nothing of such happened!

That day, I went home smiling and he had to get up and dust himself. It came to be that people brought their marital affairs for me to share my opinions with them while others went to the king and his cabinet for issues on land disputes.

Small time, my name grew among the villagers and I was known also by the whites as a hustler! I took advantage of everything and my father was so proud of me but he never said it because the habit of complimenting somebody's child never ran in his veins except when his second wife comes, he calls her sweet names.

One day, I overheard him calling her, "My Pumpkin." And I overreacted by telling him to vomit everything the woman must have given him that is making him to misbehave and he refused!

That day, the villagers heard our voices and the neighbourhood became hot! It got to a point that he told me bluntly that before I became whomsoever I claimed to be that was making my head to swell, that he had been a guy-man all his life.

So, I fainted and they had to pour 27 buckets of water on me before I came back to life and went to the palace to resume my official duties while pondering on what my daddy said.

Oh' what a world!

You have a pastor and you're committing fornication. Well, the ball is in your court. Tell her that it is an abomination to terminate a pregnancy that does not pose any threat in your place!

It is not a must you marry her! When the child is born, you finalize on who gets to keep it and also make support for the child!

As per consenting to the abortion or not, paying the dues already implicates you.

In all, remind her that some days are like that!

Do You Remember Everything?

I had this inner power in me that I was covering up with smiles! The moment I deployed it, the chief priest went into hiding!

To further confuse the king, I organized a skills acquisition programme for all the youths in the village and funded it with my money. That day, they all learnt how to make Ghana soap and other things and I was smiling.

After the incident, the king told me to come closer to him since I was an industrious citizen of the community.

With that, half of the problem was solved!

A time came in my life, I regretted the fact that I was in the king's service! The Ezemmuo had a track record of accusing people because his words always appeared real. I went to my father for advice because the war was beyond me. So, he told me what to do and I left.

That day, I saw a woman cooking in his kitchen and I asked him who she was, he said, "Mum!"

I was like,

"Former mum, current mum or future mum?" He said I should go and settle my palace matters before he could give me details. I left without looking back until Adaku shouted my name and I froze!

Ever since I toyed with Papa's integrity at the village square, she had been giving me attitude! So, I used that opportunity to settle the matter and we hugged.

With that gone, I moved forward to swim in the more turbulent storms of my life!

Only God knew what was waiting for me.
LiteratureRe: This Is 2023, Anything Can Happen. by Schoolguy9(op): 10:26am On Jan 13, 2023
Ok, fine. Where do I even start from?

Ezemmuo visited the palace one day, pointed at me and said, "Thou shalt not commit adultery!" And I was like,

"Ah ah, which time did this one start?" And nobody could give me an answer!

When he left, the king stopped trusting me! So, I had to follow the chief priest to his shrine to come and re-say what he said but he refused claiming that I must come to his shrine and swear to an oath before he could take away the alarming statement.

For crying out loud, I was never a fan of this chief priest and his fetish practices but fact remained that I had to do something to regain the king's confidence. Funny enough, I was even eyeing his daughter and to become his son-in-law, I had to be clean.

That night I cried bitterly and the lions, with me!
